  • Probelm After Changing password in ubuntu

    Hi All, I am using ubuntu system which uses openldap for user login authentication. For changing my login password i used "$sudo passwd" and changed it. (of course the password given is same as old one). Then onwards when i trying to run "apt" command it showing command not found. and for some other programs it showing segmentation fault. Can any one tell me why I am facing issue and how to solve this.

  • Communicator Messages not being saved to Outlook due to Outlook Integration error

    For the most part my Office Communicator appears to be configured correctly. I can login to my work account and see the work contact list. Outlook is working perfectly had a weird profile problem initially but that was fixed. Unfortunately, even though I have set the setting that says: Save my instant message conversations in the Outlook Conversation History folder. My conversations have stopped saving to the Outlook Conversation History folder. Also I have a yellow warning message on top of the server icon next to the status field. When I hover or click on the message, it says there is an Outlook Integration Error. The administrator is having trouble figuring out what is causing it. What can cause Outlook Integration Errors in Communicator and how do I go about trouble shooting them?

    I'm trying to determine if there is any buffer of time from the time a password expires in AD to the time that users would stop receiving email on their mobile devices our setup is Exchange 2007 ActiveSync DC's are Server 2008 R2 primarily Android shop, with maybe a few iOS devices I've heard some rumors of people still receiving email after their password expired / changed on the domain, just want to see if anyone else has ever heard of this. Did a bit more reading, read about Token Cache in IIS 7.0 and 15min lagtime, still would like to hear any thoughts about this.

    Dear Fellow ServerFaulter, I have a weird problem in my samba share. I have one share definition for 3 client (A,B,C) This share contain some excel file which having a lot of formula and linked each other. Client A access the file with libre office (ubuntu), client B access with WinXP & MS Office 2003, The write and read process working successfuly on Both of them. The problem occur when client C accessing the same file with MS Excel 2003 (windows xp). This messagebox appear when he saving the file : Microsoft office excel cannot access the \\192.168.1.23\myshare\ There are several possible reasons: - The File ort path does not exist The file is being used by another program. - The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a - Currently open workbooks. I was trying http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291204 but it didnt work.     For the purpose of this question, I am interested in server/datacenter related hardware. Have you had any measureable amount of ROI by swapping existing hardware to more "green" or energy efficient hardware? For example, VMWare says you can reduce energy consumption by up to 80% by using virtualization. I have also heard of a cooling solution from HP which is suppose to reduce a small amount of engery usage (<25% I think). Google has also done something by integrating a UPS into their power supplies to reduce energy consumption. Any real world experiences would be great, but if you have any details on initial cost, savings and pay off time about what changes were make that would fantastic. I am not only interested in virtualization, I am interested in anything.

    I have a SSIS package I am trying to schedule. I create a new job under SQL Server Agent. On the Command line tab of the jobstep, I choose "Edit the command-line manually". The changes are retained as I switch from tab to tab within the job step but whenever I exit and save the job, the changes are lost. Any ideas what's going on? I'm on SQL Server 2008.

  • Windows Remote-App Server 2012 Office 2013 User Settings not saved

    I have a Windows Server 2012 with RemoteApps enabled. It's running the latest Patches etc. It has Office 2013 installed and Excel and Word are shared to all users. Now I got the Problem that after each Reboot all User Settings are lost. I have a few users who pin previously opened Documents so they dont need to remember all Paths and those are all gone after Reboot. Also last opened Documents is empty and after a Server reboot it brings the office 2013 Window for First time setup where it asks if you want to connect to skydrive and all that. In the RemoteApps Collection I enabled a Userprofile-Drive 100GB drive E: for Storing User profile data. There is a Domain of course and there is no GPO Preventing the user from Storing settings etc. We also got an older Terminal Server 2003 in the same Domain where this is not happening. Any ideas why this is happening that all the Settings are lost after Reboot?

Currently I am protecting private video files using zip compression with password but it is very inconvenient. I am forced to uncompress huge files each time before watching, and than erase it using special utilities (to avoid further restoring). Please advice.

    Hi, I have an Ubuntu workstation with Firefox always open on a (autorefreshing) web page protected by basic auth. At startup, I have autologin and automatic Firefox start on the page and I have saved the basic auth credentials. I'd like to confirm in some automated way the username/password dialog box which pops up on the first opening of the page, or I'd like to know if there's any hack to avoid this dialog box. I tried setting the homepage to http://username%3Apassword@myserver/mypage put that doesn't stop confirmation dialog boxes.

    Hi, I am experimenting with LDAP. As I see it, apache uses the Unix password field to get the credentials and samba the field that is specific for samba. I just use the LDAP server for a single server, LDAP runs in the same server. What I wanted is to use the same password for apache and samba (and mediawiki etc). Is it possible? If not, are there any alternatives? Thanks!

    I have set auth basic in nginx and blocked other ips like: location / { auth_basic "Restricted Area"; auth_basic_user_file .htpasswd; allow 127.0.0.1; deny all; } I can login using the username/password provided in .htpasswd but the error log in nginx shows errors like: user "memcache" was not found in "/etc/nginx/.htpasswd" no user/password was provided for basic authentication Any suggestion why this occurs and how to get rid of it ?
