  • Getting a Spring resource

    - by Javi
Hello, I'm trying to read a css file with the Resources provided by Spring. My application looks like this: src src/com herer my classes inside packages WebContent WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css -- the css I want to read WebContent/WEB-INF -- here is my application-context.xml I can get the css and read it by doing something like this: UrlResource file = new UrlResource("http://localhost:8080/myApp/resources/style/myCSS.css"); but it depends on the server and aplication names. I've tried to do it by other implementations of Resource Interface, but the file is not found cause I can't find out how to wite the path. I've tried with this: FileSystemResource file = new FileSystemResource("/WebContent/resources/style/myCSS.css"); I also tried with wildcards, but it doesn't find the file either. ApplicationContext ctx = new FileSystemXmlApplicationContext("classpath*:/WEB-INF/application-context-core.xml"); Resource file = ctx.getResource("file:**/myCSS.css"); How should I write the path to get the css. Thanks.

  • Question about spring transaction propagation

    - by Yousui
Hi guys, I have a question about spring transaction propagation. If I use @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) to annotate a method m1. When execution logic enter m1, if there is already a transaction, m1 will use that one. When after m1, what about the transaction? It ends or still open?(if I call m1 in another method, and after the invocation there is still other things to do). In summary, I want to know when exiting an annotated method, the transaction ends or still open? Great thanks.

  • Spring/Hibernate/Junit example of testing DAO against HSQLDB

    - by Ryan P.
Hi guys, I'm working on trying to implement a JUnit test to check the functionality of a DAO. (The DAO will create/read a basic object/table relationship in HSQLDB). The trouble I'm having is the persistence of the DAO (for the non-test code) is being completed through an in-house solution using Spring/Hibernate, which eliminates the usual *.hbm.xml templates that most examples I have found contain. Beacuse of this, I'm having some trouble understanding how to setup a JUnit test to implement the DAO to create/read (just very basic funtionality) to an in-memory HSQLDB. I have found a few examples, but the usage of the in-house persistence means I can't extend some of the classes the examples show (I can't seem to get the application-context.xml setup properly). Can anyone suggest any projects/examples I could take a look at (or any documentation) to further my understanding of the best way to implement this test functionality? I feel like this should be really simple, but I keep running into problems implementing the examples I have found. Thanks in advance!

  • Deploying spring message driven pojo on weblogic 8.1

    - by Igman
Hello, I am trying to deploy a spring message message driven POJO on weblogic 8.1. It is a simple POJO, and it works fine being run outside of an application server, but the messages do not seem to be picked up at all. I have created empty home and remote interfaces, as well as a container bean class that contains an instance of the pojo which it gets from the application context. I then added this container bean class to the ejb-jar.xml as a . I have not been able to get the messages pick up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Could anyone point me to a tutorial on how to deploy a MDP? Thanks.

  • Create spring beans, based on a comma-separated list of classes

    - by Jeroen
Is there a way in Spring to create a collection, or array, of beans, based on a comma-separated list of classes. For example: package mypackage; public class Bla { private Set<MyBean> beans; public void setBeans(Set<MyBean> beans) { this.beans = beans; } } With the application context: <bean id="bla" class="mypackage.Bla"> <property name="beans"> <set> <bean class="mypackage.Bean1, mypackage.Bean2" /> </set> </property> </bean> Preferably the beans are all initialized and wired from the context, leaving the code as simplistic as possible, is this possible?

  • Relative paths in spring classpath resource

    - by Mike Q
Hi all, I have a bunch of spring config files, all of which live under the META-INF directory in various subpackages. I have been using import like the following... <import resource="../database/schema.xml"/> So a relative path from the source file. This works fine when I am working with a local build outside of a jar file. But when I package everything up in a jar then I get an error that it cannot resolve the URL resource. If I change the above to an absolute path (with classpath:) then it works fine. Is there any way to use relative paths with ".." in when the configs are packaged in a jar or am I restricted to descending relative paths and absolute paths only? Thanks.

  • Spring Transaction Manager

    - by cedric
Hi. I have a j2ee application running on spring framework. I am implementing a transaction manager with AOP. It works fine. When an exception occurs in my method it is detected by my AOP configuration and rolls back the changes in the DB. But the problem is the code where you expect the error should not be surrounded with try-catch. When I suround it with try-catch it won't roll-back. But I need to do some stuffs like logging whenever there are errors and the only place I can think of placing it is in the catch block.

  • Spring: Inject static member (System.in) via constructor

    - by Julian Lettner
I wrote some sort of console client for a simple application. To be more flexible, I thought it would be nice to only depend on java.io.Input-/OutputStream, instead of accessing System.in/out directly. I renamed the class ConsoleClient to StreamClient, added setters and made sure that the instance fields are used instead of System.in/out. At the moment my client code looks like this: ApplicationContext appCtx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("..."); StreamClient cc = (StreamClient) appCtx.getBean("streamClient"); cc.setInputStream(System.in); cc.setOutputStream(System.out); cc.run(); // start client Question: Is there a way to move lines 3 and 4 into the Spring configuration (preferably constructor injection)? Thanks for your time.

  • Spring - disable bind exceptions (for a particular property)

    - by Walter White
Hi all, In a web application I'm working on using Spring 2.5.6.SEC01, I essentially have an Integer field that takes a number to determine which page to scroll to. The requirements changed, and we no longer want to display an error message, but simply ignore the user's input if they enter an invalid number, say "adfadf". I was reading that you can do that via: TypeMismatch.property=Some New Error Message However, after having tried that, we are still getting the original error message: java.lang.Integer.TypeMismatch=... I only want to disable this message for that given property. How can I do that? I still want binding to occur automatically, I just don't want to hear about it now. Walter

  • Forcing Spring web services to add the xsd namespace to the response

    - by David Rabinowitz
    I'm using the Spring WS version 1.5.8. My response looks like this: <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <SOAP-ENV:Header/> <SOAP-ENV:Body> ... </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> However, my client (whom I integrate with) requires that I will add more namespace declerations in order for the parsing to succeed: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <soapenv:Body> ... </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> How can I do it?

  • Hibernate Lazy init exception in spring scheduled job

    - by Noam Nevo
I have a spring scheduled job (@Scheduled) that sends emails from my system according to a list of recipients in the DB. This method is annotated with the @Scheduled annotation and it invokes a method from another interface, the method in the interface is annotated with the @Transactional annotation. Now, when i invoke the scheduled method manually, it works perfectly. But when the method is invoked by spring scheduler i get the LazyInitFailed exception in the method implementing the said interface. What am I doing wrong? code: The scheduled method: @Component public class ScheduledReportsSender { public static final int MAX_RETIRES = 3; public static final long HALF_HOUR = 1000 * 60 * 30; @Autowired IScheduledReportDAO scheduledReportDAO; @Autowired IDataService dataService; @Autowired IErrorService errorService; @Scheduled(cron = "0 0 3 ? * *") // every day at 2:10AM public void runDailyReports() { // get all daily reports List<ScheduledReport> scheduledReports = scheduledReportDAO.getDaily(); sendScheduledReports(scheduledReports); } private void sendScheduledReports(List<ScheduledReport> scheduledReports) { if(scheduledReports.size()<1) { return; } //check if data flow ended its process by checking the report_last_updated table in dwh int reportTimeId = scheduledReportDAO.getReportTimeId(); String todayTimeId = DateUtils.getTimeid(DateUtils.getTodayDate()); int yesterdayTimeId = Integer.parseInt(DateUtils.addDaysSafe(todayTimeId, -1)); int counter = 0; //wait for time id to update from the daily flow while (reportTimeId != yesterdayTimeId && counter < MAX_RETIRES) { errorService.logException("Daily report sender, data not ready. updateTimeId(); for (ScheduledReport scheduledReport : scheduledReports) { dataService.generateScheduledReport(scheduledReport); } } } The Invoked interface: public interface IDataService { • Grails/Spring HttpServletRequest synchronization

    - by Jeff Storey
I was writing a simple Grails app and I have a spot in a gsp where one of my java beans in modified. <g:each in="${myList}" status="i" var="myVar"> // if the user performs some view action, update one of the myVar elements </g:each> This works, but I don't think it's quite threadsafe. myList is an http request variable but in cases of pages that use ajax (or other client side manipulations), it is possible for two threads to be modifying the same request scope variable The Spring AbstractController class provides a setSynchronizeOnSession method. Does grails provide any equivalent functionality? If not, what's the best way to protect this non-threadsafe mutation? thanks, Jeff

  • Which Java modules get Spring Security

    - by HDave
I have a classic Java SOA application, with a web UI module, web services module, a service module (Java API), a domain module and a persistence module. In a sense, each of these modules has their own public API. My understanding of Spring Security is that I can use web filters to handle the security of the web gui and web services, and method level security (via annotations) for the service module. My question is this: should I bother to add method level security to the domain module and the persistence module or is that considered overkill?

  • Deploying Multiple Environments in Spring-MVC

    - by jboyd
Currently all web apps are deployed using seperate config files: <!-- <import bean.... production/> --> <import bean... development/> This has disadvantages, even if you only need to swap out one config file, that I'm sure everyone is familiar with (wondering what just deployed without searching through XML is one of them) I want to add Logging to my application that basically says 'RUNNING IN PRODUCTION MODE', with a description of the services deployed and what mode they are working in. RUNNING IN PRODUCTION MODE Client Service - Production Messaging Service - Local and so on... Is this possible in Spring using a conventional deployment (putting a war on a server)? What other things do people do to manage deployments and software configurations? If not, what other ways could you achieve something similar?

  • Service injection into Controller (Spring MVC)

    - by ThaSaleni
Hi I have a Spring web application, I have built it up to the controller stage and I could inject my Daos, into my Services fine. Now when I want to inject my Service into my controller i get an error for dependency with the Dao and further down the sessionFactory. I don't want to inject these again cause this will ultimately lead me to eventually create a data source but I have my Daos for data access and they already know about sessionFactory. Am I missing something here? here's the sample code snippets My Service: @Service("productService") @Transactional public class ProductServiceImpl implements ProductService { private ProductDao productDao; @Autowired public void setDao(ProductDao productDao) { this.productDao = productDao; } My Controller @Controller @WebServlet(name="controllerServlet", loadOnStartup= urlPatterns=...}) public class ControllerServlet extends HttpServlet { boolean isUserLogedIn =false; @Autowired private ProductService productService; public void setProductService(ProductService productService){ this.productService = productService; } Servlet-context Stack trace javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet.init() for servlet mvcServlet threw exception org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:472) org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:98) org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:927) org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:407) org.apache.coyote.http11.AbstractHttp11Processor.process(AbstractHttp11Processor.java:999) org.apache.coyote.AbstractProtocol$AbstractConnectionHandler.process(AbstractProtocol.java: 565) org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$SocketProcessor.run(AprEndpoint.java:1812) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) root cause org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'controllerServlet': Injection of autowired dependencies failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Could not autowire field: private com.phumzile.acme.services.ProductService com.phumzile.acme.client.web.controller.ControllerServlet.productService; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type [com.phumzile.acme.services.ProductService] found for dependency: expected at least 1 bean which qualifies as autowire candidate for this dependency. • ASP.NET MVC Generic Controllers and Spring.NET

    - by Jason
Hello, I am creating an application using ASP.NET MVC (2) and Spring.NET. Since most of my Controller implementations just implement the similar CRUD operations, I would like to just create a single Generic controller, as explained here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/848904/in-asp-net-mvc-is-it-possible-to-make-a-generic-controller However, the above example doesn't take DI frameworks into consideration. What I'm thinking is to create this (warning: this is an ugly mass of code I need help with): public SpringGenericControllerFactory : DefaultControllerFactory { public IController CreateController(RequestContext requestContext, string controllerName) { // Determine the controller type to return Type controllerType = Type.GetType("MyController").MakeGenericType(Type.GetType(controllerName)); // Return the controller return Activator.CreateInstance(controllerType) as IController; } } The entries in objects.xml would look something like this: <object id="controllerFactory" type="Application.Controllers.SpringGenericControllerFactory" /> <object id="DepartmentController" factory-method="CreateController" factory-object="controllerFactory" /> Can anyone pick through this and offer advice?

  • Spring MVC - JSP - Place to Store Environment Specific Constants

Where in the Spring-MVC/JSP application would you store things that need to be accessed by both the controllers and views such as environment specific base_url's, application ids to be used in javascript and so on? I've tried creating an application scoped bean and then at the top of my JSPs, but that doesn't seem to be working. <!-- Environment --> <bean id="myEnv" class="com.myapp.MyAppEnvironment" scope="application"> <property name="baseUrl" value="http://localhost:8080/myapp/"/> <property name="videoPlayerId" value="234346565"/> </bean> And using it in the following manner <jsp:useBean id="myEnv" scope="application" type="com.myapp.MyAppEnvironment"/>

  • Is there anyway to bring web @Context into JUnit (CXF+Spring)

    - by Sudheer
I am trying to create unit test environment to test RESTFul services (cfx+spring) in my dev environemnt. To test RESTFul Services, I require @Context within JUnit test cases. @Context should contain HttpRequest, HttpSession, ServletContext, ServletConfig and all other webserver related information. I have setup the JUnit for the above, but when I run, @Context is coming as null. This could be because there is no webserver running and there is no @Context. I am just doubting whether there is a way to created sample web @Context and pass to JUnit. Any other ideas are welcome to bring web @Context into JUnit test cases. Thank you, Sudheer

  • Extracting startup errors from Spring contexts

    - by sehugg
Consider the following output from a Tomcat server under Eclipse: INFO: Initializing Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080 INFO: Initialization processed in 634 ms INFO: Starting service Catalina INFO: Starting Servlet Engine: Apache Tomcat/6.0.20 SEVERE: Error listenerStart SEVERE: Context [/MyServlet] startup failed due to previous errors I would like to figure out what exception caused "Error listenerStart", but Spring seems to be preventing me from finding the error via Eclipse. I'd love to start Catalina manually, but that doesn't seem to do anything. What's the best way to find the hidden exception? I'm not afraid to use torture methods.

  • Spring and JUnit annotated tests: creating fixtures in separate transactions

    - by Francois
I am testing my Hibernate DAOs with Spring and JUnit. I would like each test method to start with a pre-populated DB, i.e. the Java objects have been saved in the DB, in a Hibernate transaction that has already been committed. How can I do this? With @After and @Before, methods execute in the same Hibernate transaction as the methods decorated with @Test and @Transactional (first level cache may not be flushed by the time the real test method starts). @BeforeTransaction and @AfterTransaction apparently cannot work with Hibernate because they don't create transactions even if the method is annotated with @Transactional in addition to @Before/AfterTransaction. Any suggestion?

  • Problem with Maven in Spring roo

    - by Dee
I was trying to run the Wedding RSVP sample given with Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC3. I am running on Maven 2.2.1 and JDK 1.5.0_19, Java and M2 Home are properly set. Unfortunately none of the commands that involve Maven calls (example: "Perform test" or 'Perform eclipse") work and there is no error either. The cursor immediately returns on the roo command line. I also tried the steps at http://blog.springsource.com/2009/05/27/roo-part-2 but same problem. Did anybody face this issue?
