    If I have a UITextField which the user is inputing a registration number, which has the format: 11-11-1111 (that is 2 digits, a dash, 2 digits, a dash, four digits) How do I force the user to enter this kind of data only... so they can't enter anything except 0-9 in the first character, and only '-' for the third character etc.

    I would like to match any character and any whitespace except comma with regex. Only matching any character except comma gives me: [^,]* but I also want to match any whitespace characters, tabs, space, newline, etc. anywhere in the string. For example, I would like to be able to match all of this up until the comma: "bla bla bla" "asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf" "asdfasdfasdf", Is there a simple way to do this without knowing where the whitespace may be?

    Most of the languages like C++ when writing into a file, put an EOF character even if we miss to write statements like : filestream.close However is there any way, we can put the EOF character according to our requirement, in C++, for an instance.     Lets us consider this snippet: int s; scanf("%c",&s); Here I have used int, and not char, for variable s, now for using s for character conversion safely I have to make it char again because when scanf reads a character it only overwrites one byte of the variable it is assigning it to, and not all four that int has. For conversion I could use s = (char)s; as the next line, but is it possible to implement the same by subtracting something from s ?

  • NUL symbol gets inserted anywhere in the XML

    I am using Oracle 11g and when I query data from database manually, it looks ok. But when I view it using Notepad++, there is a special character that gets inserted anywhere in the xml produced. Please see image below: I tried everything and deleted some parts of the xml, updated the db and query again but the invalid character just differ in location. Any idea is much appreciated, thanks! I'm using str_replace like this: str_replace("’", '\u1234', $string); It looks like I cannot figure out what character the quote really is. Even when I copy paste it directly from PHPMyAdmin it still doesn't work. Do I have to escape it somehow?

  • Error on clicking on Text to Speech tab in Speech properties in Control Panel

    When I click on Text to Speech tab in Speech properties I receive error: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Speech\sapi.cpl",Speech". There's a hotfix mentioned the the KBs in MS support.For that MS sent me a password protected file ; 170483_ENU_i386_zip.exe which contained two files : WindowsXP-KB838659-x86-ENU.EXE and WINDOWSXP-KB838659-X86-ENU-Symbols.EXE . The first one did not install as it said i already had it and the second one unpacked some dlls which i don't know how to use. I also tried Re-registering sapi.dll on Windows XP using C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe Is there any other fix to this error?

  • Event Viewer shows service name as a truncated 8 character name

    I have written a service which logs to the Windows Event Log when it has any problems. This works fine and the service name is shown correctly in the Source column of the Event Viewer. The problem I am seeing is when my service hits some major problems like the networking layer has died etc. When this happens the event log shows errors about my service but the service name is shown as a truncated 8 character name. This name looks to be that of the executable and not the service name. Is this normal behaviour for a truncated name to be show ?

    Using excel 2003, the formula: =VLOOKUP(D1 ,A1:B135, 2) fails if the length of D1 exceeds 255 characters (i.e. the list has some text longer then 255 characters, D1 has the same text value, and VLOOKUP returns #VALUE!). MATCH seems to suffer from the same character limit. I cannot find any official confirmation of these limits, for example here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/vlookup-HP005209335.aspx or here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/excel-specifications-and-limits-HP005199291.aspx?CTT=3 I know that excel has a 255 limit on the length of text used in formulae, but it suggests connate should work (it does not in this case, and I am not using strings in the formula, but referencing another cell). Can somebody confirm that these limit exist (it is always possible I am doing something else wrong)? More importantly, does anyone know of a way around them? Thanks

    We have case where some adobe pdf files format the hyphen character as %E2%80%90. See http://forums.adobe.com/message/2807241 this is caused by the Calibri font I guess. So these pdf files have been released and the links don't work So I thought mod rewrite would come to the rescue. I followed this post here mod_ReWrite to remove part of a URL but I can't seem to search for the % characters according to this question. Is there anything else I can do? Here is the rewrite rule I want to use: RewriteRule ^foo%(.+)bar /foo-bar [L,R=301] I also tried this and it doesn't work RewriteRule ^foo%E2%80%90bar /foo-bar [L,R=301] Any Ideas?

  • Mails bounce because of invalid character ('@') in username

    I have a working exim setup with virtual users, working alright, except for when I try to send email to certain servers. These servers reject my emails because of #5.1.3 Invalid character ('@') in username. The offending header parts seem to be: Return-path: <"[email protected]"@smtp.example.com> and ...(envelope-from <"[email protected]"@smtp.example.com>)... The problem is that I cannot find where and why the usernames are being generated like this. My router for submission is: dnslookup: driver = dnslookup domains = ! +local_domains transport = remote_smtp ignore_target_hosts = 0.0.0.0 : 127.0.0.0/8 no_more And the respective transport: remote_smtp: driver = smtp What can be producing this problem?
