    Hi there, What would be the best way to send a complete post to a model in Code Igniter? Methods I know are as follow: Name form elements as array, eg. <input type="text" name="contact[name]"> <input type="text" name="contact[surname]"> and then use: $this->Model_name->add_contact($this->input->post('contact')); The other would be to add each element to an array and then send it to the model as such: <input type="text" name="name"> <input type="text" name="surname"> and $contact_array = array('name' => $this->input->post('name'), 'surname' => $this->input->post('surname')); $this->Model_name->add_contact($this->input->post('contact')); Which one of these would be best practice, and is there a way to directly send a whole POST to a model (or a whole form maybe?)

  • Issue with android tablayout switch tab

    I am a new android developer, just tried something with Android Tablayout. There are two tabs and one tab has a GridView and the other one has a DatePicker. I created an activity and layout for each tab. The problem is that when I switch to the gridView, the background is not refreshed, and the images are just drawn over the DatePicker, so through images, the DatePicker still can be seen. It really bothers me. What should I do to have a clean background for imageView? Steve

  • Prevent auto scrolling when clicking tab anchor

    On my page I have some tabs that I've added some javascript so when they're clicked the page loads the tab's anchor URL instead of simply changing the view with AJAX, but I now want to stop the browser from auto scrolling to the anchor location. Having done some research, I'm pretty sure I just need to add a couple of lines so that when clicked it returns false or prevents default but, being a noob, I've no idea where to put them!?! I know it's cheeky, but if any answers could include the full script (ie. the below) with the solution, that way I'll understand better and hopefully learn some valuable lessons also :) Here's the code I'm using: jQuery( function() { jQuery('.ui-tabs').bind( 'tabsselect', function( e, ui ) { window.location.hash = ui.tab.hash }); });

    I don't know what this is called so its hard to google for it. If you have a plain html input type=text with a small width eg 20 and then type more characters than can be displayed, it shows the last characters you type. And the first ones are scrolled out of view: This is my long text // this is the whole string my long string // this is what is actually visible in the input box How do I make it so that when you hit tab, the view area resets so that the start of the string is visible and the end is hidden? my long string // this is what is visible in the input box when typing This is my // this is what is I want to be visible in the input box after you hit tab What do you call this, and how do you do it?

    Hello, This image gives a good picture about Virtual Adress space. But it only says half of the story. It only gives complete picture of User Adress space ie.. lower 50% (or 75% in some cases). What about the rest 50% (or 25%) which is occupied by the kernel. I know kernel also has so many different things like kernel modules , device drivers, core kernel itself. There must be some kind of layout right? What is its layout? If you say its Operating System dependent. I would say, there are two major operating systems Windows & Linux. Please give answer for any one these.

  • Wait for animation, render to complete - XAML and C#

    Hi all. I have a situation where I am animating part of my XAML application, and I need to wait for the animation AND rendering to complete before I can move on in my code. So far the tail end of my function looks like: ProcExpandCollapse.Begin(); while (ProcExpandCollapse.GetCurrentState() != ClockState.Stopped) { } } Which, in theory, will wait until the animation is finished. But it will not wait until the rendering is finished - the thread drawing the application might still not have re-drawn the animation. The animation is expanding a UIElement, and then the next part of my code uses it's rendered size to do some things. My question then is, how do I wait until my UI Element is re-rendered before moving on?

    When I call: setChanged(); notifyObservers() on a java.until.Observable class, will all the listening Observer objects complete execution of their udpate() methods - assuming we are running in the same Thread - before the java.until.Observable class continues running? This is important because I will be sending a few messages through the notifyObservers(Object o) method in quick concession, it is important that each Observer class has finished its method before the new one though. I understand that the order of execution for each Observer class may vary when we call notifyObservers() - it is just important that the order of method execution for each individual instance is in order.

I used following code to change it ... TabWidget tw = getTabWidget(); View leftTabView = tw.getChildAt(0); leftTabView.setBackgroundDrawable(getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.tab1_drawable)); tab1_drawable is a xml (selector and items for each state). THIS IS SETTING AND CHANGING BACKGROUND NOT THE IMAGE I SET. How can I change it?

The only thing is that i want to set a permanent height to tab 1(st_content_1). The code i have below works but it is a bit faulty. Should place in the function if statements? Check for the height of the first tab and then set it? Or a any better solution? You can check my EXAMPLE. I can get the values in when I construct the SQL statement word by word and get each value individually stated in the VALUES part but when I try to get the list as a whole it does not work.   • GMLib Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101

    I get this error "Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101." at random times when displaying a map with a marker on it. I use Delphi 2007 and GMLib [1.2.0 Final]. I have read up on the issue and some suggestions was that the problem is due to commenting or bad syntax in java code, and it was suggested that i take out all the commenting and check for errors in the java code. This i did, i recompiled and reinstalled GMLib after modifying the map.html file. I stripped it of all commenting and parsed it through ie for faults but found none, as expected. But the problem still occurs. Here is a sample of my code to show the map and add the marker : Var newmarker : TMarker; begin newmarker := GMMarker1.Add(); newmarker.Position.Lat := MarkersToPaint[i].Latitude; newmarker.Position.Lng := MarkersToPaint[i].Longitude; newmarker.Visible := True; newmarker.Title := MarkersToPaint[i].Title; GMMap1.RequiredProp.Center.Lat := midlat; GMMap1.RequiredProp.Center.Lng := midlong; GMMap1.RequiredProp.Zoom := 18; GMMarker1.ShowElements; GMMap1.Active := True; Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

  • Ajax Asynchronous in IE - Error "The Data Necessary to Complete This Operation is Not Yet Available"

    Hey there. I have a 100% valid Ajax model written in Javascript with a few inputs I use being, Get or Post method, What page to communicate with, What String to send to that page and What element on my own page I might be fiddling with when I receive my response. The problem is that, should I set the request to Asynchronous (Hence Ajax), IE returns the error "The Data Necessary to Complete This Operation is Not Yet Available" in the onreadystatechange event where all I do is check if the readystate is 4 and the status is 200. The error doesn't come up in Firefox or Chrome as I would exepect as the Ajax is Asynchronous. Heres a snippet from the Post method xmlhttp.open("POST", commPage, true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8"); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { j = xmlhttp.responseText; i.innerHTML = j; } } xmlhttp.send(str); Edit: I should point out that in IE, I'm using the ActiveX Control - Msxml2.XMLHTTP or Microsoft.XMLHTTP or whichever returns true first.

  • Can't disable method parenthesis auto-complete in Eclipse

    I'm trying to disable the automatic closing of brackets in Eclipse, and while I've mostly succeeded, I can't stop the editor from inserting a closing parenthesis for a method call. The result is that when I type: myBool.equals(true); it inserts a closing parenthesis as soon as I type the opening parenthesis, and what I actually get is: myBool.equals(true);) I've disabled all of the auto-complete options in the Preferences - Java - Editor - Typing menu, as well as Preferences - Java - Editor - Content Assist - Fill method arguments and show guessed arguments. I also disabled the smart insert mode option under the Edit menu. Is there another option somewhere else I need to use to stop Eclipse from doing this? This is with Eclipse 3.5.2 (Build ID M20100211-1343) in case it matters. Edited to add: I should also mention that this only happens if I wait for the "intellisense" pop-up with suggested method names to appear after I type the period. If I just continuously type the code without waiting for the suggestion box to appear, the closing parenthesis doesn't get inserted.

  • Purge complete Python installation on OS X

    I’m working on a recently-upgraded OS X Snow Leopard and MacPorts and I’m running into problems at every corner. The first problem is the sheer number of installed Python versions: altogether, there are four: 2.5, 2.6 and 3.0 in /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework 2.6 in /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/ (MacPorts installation) So there are at least two useless/redundant versions: 2.5 and the redundant 2.6. Additionally, the pre-installed Python is giving me severe problems because some of the pre-installed libraries (in particular, scipy, numpy and matplotlib) don’t work properly. I am sorely tempted to purge the complete /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework path, as well as the MacPorts Python installation. After that, I’ll start from a clean slate by installing a properly configured Python, e.g. that from Enthought. Am I running headlong into trouble? Or is this a sane undertaking? (In particular, I need a working Python in the next few days and if I end up with a non-working Python this would be a catastrophe of medium proportions. On the other hand, some features I need from matplotlib aren’t working now.)

Basically I'm using the new SLRequest to make a Twitter API call.     So I'm just starting to learn about bash completion scripts, and I started to work on one for a tool I use all the time. First I built the script using a set list of options: _zf_comp() { local cur prev actions COMPREPLY=() cur="${COMP_WORDS[COMP_CWORD]}" prev="${COMP_WORDS[COMP_CWORD-1]}" actions="change configure create disable enable show" COMPREPLY=($(compgen -W "${actions}" -- ${cur})) return 0 } complete -F _zf_comp zf This works fine. Next, I decided to dynamically create the list of available actions. I put together the following command: zf | grep "Providers and their actions:" -A 100 | grep -P "^\s*\033\[36m\s*zf" | awk '{gsub(/[[:space:]]*/, "", $3); print $3}' | sort | uniq | awk '{sub("\-", "\\-", $1); print $1}' | tr \\n " " | sed 's/^ *\(.*\) *$/\1/' Which basically does the following: Grabs all the text in the "zf" command after "Providers and their actions:" Grabs all the lines that start with "zf" (I had to do some fancy work here 'cause the ZF command prints in color) Grab the second piece of the command and remove any spaces from it (the spaces part is probably not needed any more) Sort the list Get rid of any duplicates Escape dashes (I added this when trying to debug the problem—probably not needed) Trim all new lines Trim all leading and ending spaces The above command produces: $ zf | grep "Providers and their actions:" -A 100 | grep -P "^\s*\033\[36m\s*zf" | awk '{gsub(/[[:space:]]*/, "", $3); print $3}' | sort | uniq | awk '{sub("\-", "\\-", $1); print $1}' | tr \\n " " | sed 's/^ *\(.*\) *$/\1/' change configure create disable enable show $ So it looks to me like it's producing the exact same string as I had in my original script. First, it won't autocomplete anything with an "n" in it, and second, when it does autocomplete ("zf create" for example) it won't let me backspace over my completed command. The first issue I'm completely stumped on. The second I'm thinking might have to do with escape characters from the colored text. Any ideas? It's driving me crazy!
