  • How to output LogCat to Console?

    - by Shooshpanchick
    Is there a way to make LogCat's output to appear in Console view in Eclipse? LogCat view is much less convenient that Console, because it's hard to see long messages in it (they are trimmed by column border) and there are no clickable highlighting in exception stack traces to quickly navigate to source of error.

  • PendingIntent from notification and application history conflicts

    - by synic
    I'm creating a notification with something similar to the following: Intent ni = new Intent(this, SomeActivity.class); ni.putExtra("somestring", "somedata"); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, ni, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT|PendingIntent.FLAG_ONE_SHOT); Context context = getApplicationContext(); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, res.getString(R.string.app_name), text, contentIntent); The key here is the extra data on the Intent for the notification. Once I click on the notification and it brings up SomeActivity, it brings up the activity and the extra data is available. However, if I exit the app, hold the home button until the recent activities list comes up, and choose to open the app again, the extra data is still passed. Is there a way I can make this data get passed only if the app is opened via the Notification, and not from the recent activities list?

  • Getting ImageView dimensions before adding the image

    - by twk
    I've got a RelativeLayout that contains these items: LinearLayout ImageView (weight = 1) LinearLayout So, the ImageView should expand and pin the other layouts on the top/bottom of the screen. I'm loading the ImageView using an image stored on a web server. However, I can fetch images of any size from the server, so I'd rather just fetch the exact image size I need. Thus, I need to get the size of the ImageView before I actually fill it in. How can I do this?

  • Opengl-es draw an .obj file, but how?

    - by lacas
    I d like to parse an .obj file. My parser is working good, but my displaying is not good. Obj file is here my code is: public ObjModelParser parse() { long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); InputStream fileIn = resources.openRawResource(resourceID); BufferedReader buffer = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(fileIn)); String line=""; Log.e("model loader", "Start parsing object " + resourceID); try { while ((line = buffer.readLine()) != null) { StringTokenizer parts = new StringTokenizer(line, " "); int numTokens = parts.countTokens(); if (numTokens == 0) continue; String part = parts.nextToken(); if (part.equals(VERTEX)) { Log.e("v ", line); vertices.add(Float.parseFloat(parts.nextToken())); vertices.add(Float.parseFloat(parts.nextToken())); vertices.add(Float.parseFloat(parts.nextToken())); .... and my displaying code is: draw that model with TRIANGLE_STRIP and gl.glDrawArrays(rendermode, 0, coords.length/dimension); What is the mistake here? edited: file here to show what is my good coords from my program for a cube, and what is from .obj file, that never show Thanks, Leslie

  • What is the String 'volumeName' argument of MediaStore.Audio.Playlists.Members.getContentUri referri

    - by Brett
    I am wanting to query the members of a given playlist. I have the correct playlist id, and want to use a managedQuery() to look at the playlist members in question. What I have is this: private String [] columns = { MediaStore.Audio.Playlists.Members.PLAYLIST_ID, MediaStore.Audio.Playlists.Members.TITLE, }; Uri membersUri = MediaStore.Audio.Playlists.Members.getContentUri(volume, playlistId); Cursor tCursor = managedQuery(membersUri, columns, null, null, null); I don't know what the volume argument needs to be. I've tried this: MediaStore.Audio.Playlists.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI.toString() for the "volume" argument. That gives me back a valid content URI that looks like: content://media/external/audio/playlists/2/members However, my cursor comes back null. I probably am way off base -- I know what I want to do is very simple.

  • Progress bar in notification bar

    - by android_dev
    Hello everybody, I would like to put a progress bar in the notification bar. The idea is showing the progress bar while the program uploads a file to a server. Everything else is ok, but I can not figure out how to refresh the progress bar inside the notification. Does anybody knows any pattern to play with? I mean, where I should refresh the progress bar, in a service or activity and so. Thanks in advance.

    I have displayed the map in my app by using the following code. I have retrieved info from the database and displayed the map. • Is there anyway I can fix a webview?

    - by Legend
    I am trying to load a webpage into a sample webview that I created: public class HelloWebview extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); WebView webview; webview = (WebView) findViewById(R.id.webview); webview.getSettings().setDefaultZoom(ZoomDensity.FAR); webview.setHorizontalScrollBarEnabled(false); webview.setVerticalScrollBarEnabled(false); webview.getSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true); webview.loadUrl("http://10.0.2.2/index.html"); } } Initially, I had a problem with the scrollbars so I added the two lines to disable them. Now, I am still able to pan around the webpage though the scroll bars are not visible. How can I fix the view so that I am not able to pan (or scroll) the webpage? By panning, I mean moving around the webpage with an onTouch event.

  • Problem with ImageButton.setVisibility()

    - by Luis Lopez
    Hello guys! I'm having a problem when setting the visibility of two image buttons one on top of the other. The idea is to implement a play/pause control. The problem is that the only part where setting the visibility actually works is in the click listeners of the buttons. If I try to change it somewhere else nothing happens. Any idea why is this happening? Thanks in advance! playBtn.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {//PLAY BUTTON LISTENER public void onClick(View v) { playBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.GONE); pauseBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.VISIBLE); mp.start(); }}); pauseBtn.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {//PAUSE BUTTON LISTENER public void onClick(View v) { pauseBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.GONE); playBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.VISIBLE); mp.pause(); }}); final class SeekBarTask extends TimerTask { public SeekBarTask(int duration) { } @Override public void run() { if(seekBar.getProgress() = mp.getDuration()) {//IF SONG HAS FINISHED... pauseBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.GONE);//THESE ONES playBtn.setVisibility(ImageButton.VISIBLE);//DOESN'T WORK mp.stop(); } else { seekBar.incrementProgressBy(100); } } }

  • How to scroll to the new added item in a ListView

    - by Thomas
    Hi all My application show a ListView with a button which allow user to add an element. When the user clicks on this button, another Activity is started to allow user to populate the new element. When the add is finished, we return to the previous Activity with the ListView and I would like to scroll to the new element. Note that this element is not necessarily at the end of the ListView because there is an "order by" when I retrieve the datas from the database. I know I need the cursor position of the new element to make the ListView scrool to it, but the only info I have about this element is its id, so how to convert this id to cursor position ? Do I have to loop on the cursor to find the position ? Thanks in advance

  • DDMS plugin not loading GPX files

    - by Craig
    I am unable to load a GPX file in the DDMS eclipse plugin. When specifying a GPX file, no points are added to the emulator control list. I have tried adding KML files as well, generated in Google earth. Is there a way to get these files to work? The content of the file is listed below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <gpx version="1.0" creator="RunKeeper - http://www.runkeeper.com" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0 http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/0/gpx.xsd"> <trk> <name>Running 11/30/09 3:37 pm11/30/09 3:37 pm</name> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:08Z</time> <trkseg> <trkpt lat="41.811406000" lon="-72.521427000"> <ele>37.000000</ele> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:08Z</time> </trkpt> <trkpt lat="41.811030000" lon="-72.522882000"> <ele>38.000000</ele> <time>2009-11-30T15:37:10Z</time> </trkpt>
