• Flex 4: Scale to a point (zoom into an image where the mouse was clicked)

  I've been trying to get this working and I can't seem to figure it out. There is an Image control that when I click on it I need to zoom in (using the center/transform point where the mouse is clicked). I have the zoom transition working great, but when I set transformX & tranformY (with autoCenterTransform false) it doesn't zoom into that point.   Next term, I'll need to write a basic operating system for Motorola 68K processor as part of a course lab material. Is there a Linux emulator of a basic hardware setup with that processor? So my partners and I can debug quicker on our computers instead of physically restarting the board and stuff. Is it possible to apply test-driven development technique to OS development? Code will be mostly assembly and C. What will be the main difficulties with trying to test-drive this? Any advice on how to do it?

I don't want to this 26 times (one time for each letter in the alphabet), I tried to use class instead of id but that causes all the #show to toggleup heh.

However when the password is incorrect this shows as 2 invalid attempts in AD. So what happens is when the AD admin allows 5 invalid attempts the user is locked out on the 3rd attempt. when i look in the AD's event log 1 see 2 entries. 1)Pre-authentication failed: 2)Logon attempt by: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0 Logon account: [email protected] Source Workstation: WKSXXXX Error Code: 0xC000006A Stepping thro the code i see 2 event entries on the line de.RefreshCache() I tried using de.NativeObject to see if that would solve the problem.   When I re-throw a EUpdateError exception in the TDatasetProvider.OnUpdateError event, it is not recognized as EUpdateError exception in the catch block. It's only recognized as base Excption. try ... //calls the TDatasetPorvider.OnUpdateError event. myClientDataSet.ApplyUpdates(0); ... except on ex: EUpdateError do begin //never goes here //Evaluate ex.ErrorCode end; on ex: Exception do begin //always goes here //the expression (ex is EUpdateError) returns false; end; end; Hiere is the corresponding .OnUpdateError implementaion: procedure MyDataModule.MyDatasetProviderOnUpdateError(..;E: EUpdateError;...); beign //Here, the expression (E is EUpdateException) returns true; raise E; end; The exception is re-thrown, but as it seems the EUpdateError is transformed into a plain base Execption. Does anybody know, why the class type get lost? I would need that type in order to check the .ErrorCode to know what went wrong and to prepare the proper user message.

  Hello, I know this question is asked many a times,and i am also implementing the same funda for chanding the title of the uibutton i guess. Let me clarify my problem first. I have one uibutton named btnType, on clicking of what one picker pops up and after selecting one value,i am hitting done button to hide the picker and at the same time i am changing the the title of the uibutton with code [btnType setTitle:btnTitle forState:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [btnType setTitleColor:[UIColor redColor] forState:UIControlEventAllEvents]; But with my surpriaze,it is not changed and application crashes with signal EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I am not getting where i am making mistake.I have allocated memory to the btnType at viewdidLoad. Also I am using -(IBAction)pressAddType { toolBar.hidden = FALSE; dateTypePicker.hidden = FALSE; } event on pressing the button to open the picker. Also i would like to mention that i have made connection with IB with event TouchUpInside for pressAddType. Any guesses? I will be grateful if you could help me. Thanks.

• Highlighting a custom UIButton

  The app I'm building has LOTS of custom UIButtons laying over top of fairly precisely laid out images. Buttonish, controllish images and labels and what have you, but with a clear custom-style UIButton sitting over top of it to handle the tap. My client yesterday says, "I want that to highlight when you tap it". Never mind that it immediately pushes on a new uinavigationcontroller view... it didn't blink, and so he's confused. Oy. Here's what I've done to address it. I don't like it, but it's what I've done: I subclassed UIButton (naming it FlashingUIButton). For some reason I couldn't just configure it with a background image on control mode highlighted. It never seemed to hit the state "highlighted". Don't know why that is. So instead I wrote: -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { [self setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"grey_screen"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [self performSelector:@selector(resetImage) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.2]; [super touchesBegan:touches withEvent:event]; } -(void)resetImage { [self setBackgroundImage:nil forState:UIControlStateNormal]; } This happily lays my grey_screen.png (a 30% opaque black box) over the button when it's tapped and replaces it with happy emptyness .2 of a second later. This is fine, but it means I have to go through all my many nibs and change all my buttons from UIButtons to FlashingUIButtons. Which isn't the end of the world, but I'd really hoped to address this as a UIButton category, and hit all birds with one stone. Any suggestions for a better approach than this one?

Variants with <p:ajax update="@this" event="change"/> <p:ajax update="@this" event="select"/> do not update bean.date too. The only way I have found is using of listener. However, I suppose, there should be a way without listener implementation like for simple facelets: <p:column> <h:inputText value="#{bean.note}" > <f:ajax/> </h:inputText> </p:column> that works fine for me. Does anybody know how to get it working!?

• jQuery trigger function on change

  I have the following two slider functions which work well and display like so: I have diskAmount and transferAmount stored in global vars, however what I am now trying to figure out is how do I get the sum of the two to initially show as the monthly fee, and then update when either of the two sliders are changed. So in my screenshot above the initial state will be $24.75, and the fee will update if the sliders change. Can anyone point me in the right direction? • Cascading MVC controllers with CatchAll Routes

  Hi, I have an MVC app which has its routes defined with the final route being a catch all route to a "PageController" for a database driven collection of pages. What I want to achieve is to be able to plugin to the app a second controller to the catch all route which the first controller passes on to if it does not find the url recieved in the database. Effectively I want to queue up controllers with catch all actions: public ActionResult PageCatchall(string url) { var page = repository.Get<Page>(string url); if (page != null) { // Handle the request return View(page) } // Otherwise pass to a new controller ???? } Anyone have any good ideas as to how to solve this? I have tried RedirectToAction but that requires that the next controller has a different route to the action. I have tried ActionInvoker but this failed to work the way I did it.

My question is often we are writing core service layer separately from web/UI layer so we can reuse same services for different UI layer/technology. So practically is it possible to reuse same core layer services without any changes/addition in API with different kind of UI technologies/layers. For e.g. same core service layer with UI technology which supports synchronized request response (e.g. jsp etc.) and non synchronize or event driven UI technology (e.g Ajax, Flex, GWT etc.) or with multiple devices like (computers, mobiles, pdas etc.). Personally I feel its very tough to write core service layer without any knowledge of UI. Looking for thoughts from other people.

• How to check if a thread is busy in C#?

  I have a Windows Forms UI running on a thread, Thread1. I have another thread, Thread2, that gets tons of data via external events that needs to update the Windows UI. (It actually updates multiple UI threads.) I have a third thread, Thread3, that I use as a buffer thread between Thread1 and Thread2 so that Thread2 can continue to update other threads (via the same method). My buffer thread, Thread3, looks like this: public class ThreadBuffer { public ThreadBuffer(frmUI form, CustomArgs e) { form.Invoke((MethodInvoker)delegate { form.UpdateUI(e); }); } } What I would like to do is for my ThreadBuffer to check whether my form is currently busy doing previous updates. If it is, I'd like for it to wait until it frees up and then invoke the UpdateUI(e). I was thinking about either: a) //PseudoCode while(form==busy) { // Do nothing; } form.Invoke((MethodInvoker)delegate { form.UpdateUI(e); }); How would I check the form==busy? • Quick question regarding MVC framework for a java game

  I have a question regarding the use of the MVC framework for a blackjack game im writing in java. As I understand, my model would be a class that stores the state of the game, and more specifically, each players hand. Within the model class, I would have an array of listeners, which would be notified each time the game state changes (ie a player has drawn a new card). These listeners would be my viewer, which is the class that handles the display of the game. This class would implement the ActionListener interface, and each time the model changes, it would call/"notify" my viewer's actionPerformed method. My question is as follows: I intend to have two JPanels, each devoted to displaying the respective player's hand. As a player draws a new card, a new ImageIcon would be added to the panel. My question is how would the viewer class know what card has been added to the player's hand? I suppose I could store the player's hand before a notify event, and then upon the notification event, compare the new state with the old, to find out what has changed. I'm a complete novice here, so I could be completely wrong, but it seems a bit tedious to do this. Is there a more efficient/common way of detecting what has changed in the model between the before and after state? Another solution would be to redraw the entire panel each time the notification occurs? Would this be a better idea?

  Hello, Do you think it's possible to refresh an update panel and immediately after redirecting the response (for instance a download) ? I tried this: an invisible button - as an asyncpostbacktrigger a download button - when it is clicked the onclientclick clicks the invisible button the click event on the invisible button refreshes the update panel then the download button click event launches the download (normal postback which launches the download) However for some reason when the invisible button is clicked by the download button client script, it doesn't refresh the update panel.. Do you have an idea why it doesn't work? Or do you have other and cleaner techniques?   I'm using my MOO project to teach myself Test Driven Design, and it's taking me interesting places. For example, I wrote a test that said an attribute on a particular object should always return an array, so -- t = Thing.new("test") p t.names #-> ["test"] t.names = nil p t.names #-> [] The code I have for this is okay, but it doesn't seem terribly ruby to me: class Thing def initialize(names) self.names = names end def names=(n) n = [] if n.nil? n = [n] unless n.instance_of?(Array) @names = n end attr_reader :names end Is there a more elegant, Ruby-ish way of doing this?   I'm working with a JavaScript routine I didn't write. It is called from a text box's onkeydown attribute to prevent unwanted keystrokes. The first argument is apparently not used. The second argument is a list of characters that should be allowed. function RestrictChars(evt, chars) { var key; var keychar; if (window.event) key = window.event.keyCode; else if (e) key = e.which; else return true; keychar = String.fromCharCode(key); if ((key == null) || (key == 0) || (key == 8) || (key == 9) || (key == 13) || (key == 27)) // Control key return true; else if (((chars).indexOf(keychar) > -1)) return true; else return false; } This seems to work for alpha-numeric characters. However, characters such as . and / cause this function to return false, even when these characters are included in the chars parameter. For example, if the . key is pressed, key is set to 190, and keychar gets set to the "3/4" character. Can anyone see how this was meant to work and/or why it doesn't? I don't know enough about JavaScript to see what it's trying to do.

  In top of form1 i did: private System.Timers.Timer _refreshTimer; private int _thisProcess; Then in the Form1 Load event: _thisProcess = Process.GetCurrentProcess().Id; InitializeRefreshTimer(); PopulateApplications(); Then the timer init method: void InitializeRefreshTimer() { _refreshTimer = new System.Timers.Timer(5000); _refreshTimer.SynchronizingObject = this; _refreshTimer.Elapsed += new System.Timers.ElapsedEventHandler(TimerToUpdate_Elapsed); _refreshTimer.Start(); } Then the timer elapsed event: void TimerToUpdate_Elapsed(object sender, System.Timers.ElapsedEventArgs e) { PopulateApplications(); } In the end the Populate method: void PopulateApplications() { dataGridView1.Rows.Clear(); foreach (Process p in Process.GetProcesses(".")) { if (p.Id != _thisProcess) { try { if (p.MainWindowTitle.Length > 0) { String status = p.Responding ?
