  • Python Django MySQLdb setup problem:: setup.py dosen't build due to incorrect location of mysql

    I'm trying to install MySQLdb for python. but when I run the setup, this is the error I get. well I know why its giving all the missing file statements, but dont know where to change the bold marked location from.   • grails prod run-app connects to mysql but grails prod run-war doesn't

    Hi, I have a unexpected problem. I had create a war with grails war. Then I had deployed in Tomcat. For my surprise the crud works fine but I don't know what persistence is using. So I did this test: Compare grails prod run-app with grails prod run-war. The first works fine, and does conect with the mysql database. The other don't. I found this code to get all the keys: ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/888521/returning-a-list-of-keys-with-modelstate-errors) var errorKeys = (from item in ModelState where item.Value.Errors.Any() select item.Key).ToList(); But how would I get the error messages as a IList or IQueryable? I could go: foreach (var key in errorKeys) { string msg = ModelState[error].Errors[0].ErrorMessage; errorList.Add(msg); } But thats doing it manually - surely there is a way to do it using LINQ? The .ErrorMessage property is so far down the chain that I don't know how to write the LINQ...

    Hi, I am trying to write a small app to connect and manipulate some data on an SQL 2008 Express database. The database is on my local machine but I can see it on the network. I am trying to use LINQ to SQL in my app. I am trying to connect to the database so I can add database model to use with LINQ but the problem is I can not see any databases inside the SQL Server, which is on my machine. I tried using Windows Auth and also tried SQL Server Auth with no luck. Can someone please assist me? What am I missing?

I need to transform the data and output it to a Json array (format show at bottom).     Hi, I've managed to save ListView items to a System.Collections.Specialized.StringCollection property settings using this LINQ one liner: My.Settings.Property1.AddRange(ListView1.Items.Cast(Of ListViewItem)().[Select](Function(a) String.Join(Convert.ToChar(Keys.Tab), a.SubItems.Cast(Of System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItem.ListViewSubItem)().[Select](Function(s) s.Text).ToArray())).ToArray()) Now, I want to do the opposite, ie load the ListView1 from the My.Settings.Property1. It's fairly easy to do using a For Each loop, but I wonder if someone can show me a similar LINQ query.     Hello, One way to increase scalability of the server application is to run IO-bound operation (reading files, sockets, web requests, database requests etc) asynchronously. This does not mean run then in the ThreadPool which will just block threads while operation is being executed. The correct way is to use asynchronous API (BeginRead, BeginGetResponse, BeginExecuteReader etc). The problem is well described in CLR vi C# book.   • How can I set MAXLENGTH on input fields automatically?

    I'm using ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have a set of classes that were auto-generated "Linq-to-SQL Classes", where each class models a table in my database. I have some default "edit" views that use the neat-o Html.TextBoxFor helper extension to render HTML input fields for the columns in a table. However, I notice that there is no MAXLENGTH attribute specified in the generated HTML. A quick google shows that you can add explicit attributes using TextBoxFor etc. but that would mean that I need to hard-code the values (and I need to remember to do it for every input). This seems pretty poor, considering that everything was automatically generated directly from the DB, so the size of the columns is known. (Although, to be fair, the web-side stuff has to work with any model objects, not just with Linq-to-SQL objects). Is there any nice way of getting this to do the right thing?

    I have a Java project I am building with Maven. I am now trying to get the hibernate3-maven-plugin to run the hbm2ddl tool to generate a schema.sql file I can use to create the database schema from my annotated domain classes. This is a JPA application that uses Hibernate as the provider. In my persistence.xml file I call out the mysql driver: <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"/> When I run Maven, I see it processing all my classes, but when it goes to output the schema, I get the following error: ERROR org.hibernate.connection.DriverManagerConnectionProvider - JDBC Driver class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver I have the MySQL driver as a dependency of this module. However it seems like the hbm2ddl tool cannot find it. I would have guessed that the Maven plugin would have known to search the local Maven file repository for this driver. What gives?
