    We are developing a Xcode project, using subversion version control. I have yet to find a good tool to handle merge conflicts. Any tool recommendations? What you are using? At the moment I am using Kdiff3, but it is a lot of work to handle lots of conflicts. Ideally I'd like to have graphical interactive tool. Update: I found SmartSVN product, and I think it is the best.

    How to sync bookmarks across Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox bookmarks? As I, currently, understand, Google Chrome puts bookmarks seperatly from Google Bookmarks, which is accessible in Firefox by using Google Toolbar for Firefox. Right? So how should I synchronize my browsers? I use Google Chrome as my primary browser and it works good and bookmarks are synchronized across number of computers I'm using. Thanks, viliusk

    I don't keep up with hardware much, so would appreciate any tips on what would be a good touch-enabled laptop that I could use for both development and testing of Windows 8 ("Metro"/Store) apps. Is there even such an animal (a touch-centric laptop)? Or will I need to use a laptop for development (in which case I might be able to upgrade my RC version of Windows 8 on my existing laptop to RTM) and purchase a tablet for testing?

    Hello, I am using Unix (Debian) as my server platform and want to configure the following: A remote user can connect to a secure VPN server and use its IP to access the Internet, mostly for browsing and e-mail. I read a lot about OpenS/WAN+L2PT and OpenVPN but I am still confused how I should configure it. I would prefer IPSec+PPTP/L2PT since the road warrior doesn't have to install any extra software on iPhone/Windows7. Is there a good how-to for IPSec or what would you suggest?

    It's just good common sense to have your server gzip your files before they send them to users (I use Nginx) Is there anyway to save the server some overhead and pre-zip those files for the server, and if not why? For instance rather than giving the server an myscript.js and having the server zip the file and send it to the user, is there a way to create myscript.js.zip so the server doesn't have to?

I know that S3 has recently added support for large objects, and has new APIs that allow the objects to be uploaded as several parallel chunks.     I have recently got an intel ultrabook,but its screen size is 13.3' and the native resolution is 1600X900.So the problem is that the letters that appear on screen are very small.Reducing resolution blurs the display and making everything bigger also doesn't feel very good.is there a way to get around this problem without changing hardware. I am even ok with this high resolution but I am concerned about the harmful effects it might have on my eyes in long term. Any advice will be very useful.Please help

Is it possible to isolate a mailserver (for example HMailServer) by using VMware Server on Windows 2003 in order to avoid potential viruses moving from the guest into the host system?     Is there any way to get Windows Explorer tree view in Windows 7 to stop jumping? I think they really messed up this design. Click a node to expand a deeper level and it instantly scrolls the tree vertically to a new location. This is not a good feature since my eye completely loses the node it was focused on and I have to hunt for where I was. I want the tree view to remain fixed where it is unless I scroll it myself.

    On the server I'm making every day a backup with rdiff-backup like: rdiff-backup /home/ /backup/home Then every week I want to make a rsync backup offside with sshfs like: rsync -avz /home/server/backup/home /backup/server-home/ This is giving me the following errors: Fatal Error: Previous backup to /backup/server-home/. seems to have failed. Rerun rdiff-backup with --check-destination-dir option to revert directory to state before unsuccessful session. Does anybody have a good solution to deal with this errors/situation? *2x edit for typo's
