    Background: I'm invoking a web service method which returns a JSON string. This string can be of type ASConInfo or ASErrorResponse. Question: Using the DataContractJsonSerializer, how can I convert the returned JSON string to one of those objects?   • Grails unit testing and bootstrap

    I wrote an unit test for a controller. I have a Bootstrap file which alter the metaclass of domain classes by adding a method asPublicMap(). I use this method in the controller to return domain classes as json but only some selected public fields. My unit test failed because of MissingMethodException for asPublicMap(). As I understood, bootstrap classes are not loaded for unit tests, only for integration tests. That's why I got this error. My question is : Is there another place to put metaclass manipulation in order to take them into account during unit tests ?

  • Get part of a string of part of regular expression?

    Im trying to make a script that will go into a directory and run my own application with each file matching a regular expression, specifically "Test[0-9]*.txt". My input filenames look like this "TestXX.txt". Now, I could just use cut and chop off the Test and .txt, but how would I do this if XX wasn't predefined to be 2 numbers? What would I do if i had "Test1.txt" ... "Test10.txt"? In other words, How would I get the [0-9]* part? Just so you know, I want to be able to make a OutputXX.txt :)

    I want to make a Wrapper class for ActiveMQ which will have only send and get functions. I want to wrap them in a static class. Users can use this client and send, get messages to the activemq instance. I want this process to be transparent. There are two classes in this link My only handicap is, i need to this in c++ and not sure where to start. I havent used c++ for ages and now not sure how I can create this wrapper class. How can i get this correct? I eventually want to build a Factory, get an instance and send or get the messages to the queue. is there a code sample i can look into to get this right? essential i want to use the functionality of only this producer and consumer. Edit: I understand there is no such thing as static class in C++ . This is my reference.

  • Erlang: configuring cover via rebar

    My project is using a websocket server. Only for testing purposes, I also have an erlang websocket client implementation which resides in the test/ folder along with the tests. Now, when I run the tests via rebar with {cover_enabled, true} in my rebar.config, I also get coverage reported for the modules of the websocket client. I don't want this in my reports. Cover documentation says I should create a cover specification file containing {excl_mods, [websocket_client]}. But how do I convince rebar to use this file?     To truncate a String here is what I'm using : String test1 = "this is test truncation 1.pdf"; String p1 = test1.substring(0, 10) + "..."; System.out.println(p1); The output is 'this is te...' How can I access the file name extension so that output becomes : 'this is te... pdf' I could use substring method to access the last three characters but other file extensions could be 4 chars in length such as .aspx Is there a regular expression I can use so that "this is test truncation 1.pdf" becomes "this is te... pdf"

    I need a singleton in my code. I implemented it in Java and it works well. The reason I did it, is to ensure that in a mulitple environment, there is only one instance of this class. But now I want to test my Singleton object locally with a Unit test. For this reason I need to simulate another instance of this Singleton (the object that would be from another device). So is there a possiblity to instantiate a Singleton a second time for testing purpose or do I have to mock it? I'm not sure, but I think it could be possible by using a different class loader?

  • How do I get stdout into mstest output when running in new app domain?

    I have been working on test framework, which creates a new app domain to run the tests in. The primary reason being the dll's that we are testing has some horrible code that relies on the dll being located in the app domain path. (No I can't change this code.) The problem that I am having is that my test team is writing a bunch of functional tests in mstest and one of the loggers, that writes to Console.Out, does not have any of the log information captured in the trx output. When running the code through a console app all of the log information is output fine. So do the other loggers that have been implemented. My thought is that mstest is setting its own TextWriter to Console.Out, but the new app doamin has it's own TextWriter for Console.Out as the new app domain has it's own set of statics. I appreciate your ideas.

    I have TestGen4Web script for automating testing on a web-based user interface that has a popup window (hey i didn't write that ui..). In order to write a complete test script that branches the flow based on the some presence of some content in the popup window, I need to write a simple if condition that does something like if document.getElementById("xyz").value - that will run on the popup window and not the parent window. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? currently, the condition fails because it runs on the parent window. Also, how to extract some text from the dom and spit it out to a file at the end of the test?

  • Python - Is it possible to get the name of the chained function?

    I'm working on a class that basically allows for method chaining, for setting some attrbutes for different dictionaries stored. The syntax is as follows: d = Test() d.connect().setAttrbutes(Message=Blah, Circle=True, Key=True) But there can also be other instances, so, for example: d = Test() d.initialise().setAttrbutes(Message=Blah) Now I believe that I can overwrite the "setattrbutes" function; I just don't want to create a function for each of the dictionary. Instead I want to capture the name of the previous chained function. So in the example above I would then be given "connect" and "initialise" so I know which dictionary to store these inside. I hope this makes sense. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

    Hi all, I have one site to test, when I run it with my BrowserFieldDemo (in JDE sample)m just display text site, but with the same link, run on Blackberry native browser, it displays properly, and have Zoom in function to zoom. I think the problem here is the size of my site, it's too large. I've tried some different sites and see that the result is same on two browsers, but with this test site, it's unexpected result. Anyone can suggest some solutions for me to fix it? Or explain for me how Blackberry browser can know to resize web page automatically (when it loads the large web page). Thank for any help,

I cannot really understand what I'm doing wrong especially since I have played around with it a lot and been looking online for answers. Perhaps since I am using arrays I am passing the address to printf without realising it?

In child activity i have put something like that in onPause(): if (isFinishing()) { final Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.putExtra(SOME_DATA, value); setResult(RESULT_OK, intent); Log.i("test", "Result set to RESULT_OK"); } In parent activity i check resultCode when child activity is destroyed, and this is what i have noticed: If i destroy child activity by some action (in some condition i invoke finish()), then resultCode is RESULT_OK But when i destroy by pressing return key (i works only in emulator so its ESC) who kills activity, then resultCode read in parent onActivityResult method equals 0 (RESULT_CANCELD). "test" log read in each case is the same.

    I have this HTML: <div id='grid'> <input type="button" value="edit"/> <input type='button' value='update'/> </div> How to I attach a click event only to Update button. I know I could add a class to it or specity an id but both are not possible since it is in gridview. I tried this: $("input:button[@value='update']").click(function(){alert('test');}); but it displays an alert for both buttons. I know I must be doing something silly. Any help is much appreciated.   • Distributing requests to Selenium Grid RC's?

    I've got a situation here where I have a central selenium grid hub, and several RC's running on my gogrid account. When I access it to run tests, it basically queues all the incoming test requests and executes them serially on only one of the RC's, instead of spreading them out to use available RC's. The tests come from multiple projects, so I'm not looking to parallelize the tests themselves, just to split the requests that come from multiple projects across the multiple RC's. From everything I've read, it seems like selenium grid should be doing this already, yet I only see one RC used to run every single test. Is there something I'm missing?

I didn't try in web mode yet. Why would I get a null session ? Does it have something to do with spring4gwt ? Thank you
