I also need to be able to add more than just these two classes to my Jframe.

  • 'pip install carbon' looks like it works, but pip disagrees afterward

    I'm trying to use pip to install the package carbon, a package related to statistics collection. When I run pip install carbon, it looks like everything works. However, pip is unconvinced that the package is actually installed. (This ultimately causes trouble because I'm using Puppet, and have a rule to install carbon using pip, and when puppet asks pip "is this package installed?" it says "no" and it reinstalls it again.) How do I figure out what's preventing pip from recognizing the success of this installation?     I just built a new proxy server and compiled the latest versions of squid and dansguardian. We use basic authentication to select what users are allowed outside of our network. It seems squid is working just fine and accepts my username and password and lets me out. But if i connect to dans guardian, it prompts for username and password and then displays a message saying my username is not allowed to access the internet. Its pulling my username for the error message so i know it knows who i am. The part i get confused on is i thought that part was handled all by squid, and squid is working flawlessly. While I'm aware that first-chance exceptions are not a problem in and of themselves, this does cause some problems for me: I often have the debugger set to "break on exceptions", as I'm writing WPF apps, and otherwise all exceptions end up getting converted to a DispatcherUnhandledException, and all the actual information you want is lost. WPF sucks like that. As soon as I hit any code that's using dynamic, the debug output log becomes fairly useless. All the useful trace lines that I care about get hidden amongst all the useless RuntimeBinderExceptions Is there any way I can turn this off, or is the RuntimeBinder unfortunately just built like that?     I have a two part question relating to sending query results as attachments using sp_send_dbmail. Problem 1: Only basic .txt files will open. Any other format like .pdf or .jpg are corrupted. Problem 2: When attempting to send multiple attachments, I receive one file with all file names glued together. But clearly original headers are lost. It's also worth noting that attachment file sizes are different than the original files. That is most likely due to improper encoding as well. So I'm hoping there's a way to create file headers using the stored mimetype, or some way to include file headers in the binary data? I'm also not confident in the values of the last few parameters, and I know coalesce is not quite right, because it prepends the first file name with a comma. But good documentation is nearly impossible to find. Please help!

    Hi, I am writing an ASP.NET app that uses a SQL Server 2005 with SSRS setup. I want to use the ReportViewer control but I get an error when using ReportViewer 10 because it needs SSRS 2008. How can I use ReportViewer 9 within my application. I've added a reference to the Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll version 9 and removed the reference to version 10. When I get HTTP 500 error I see this page: Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on the local server machine, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "RemoteOnly". To enable the details to be viewable on remote machines, please set "mode" to "Off". Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. But when I change the above customErrors section like this: <customErrors mode="On"> <error statusCode="500" redirect="HTTP500.htm" /> </customErrors> then HTTP500.htm page is displayed when HTTP 500 error occurs.     Hi there We have a small Brother Barcode printer which we like to control from a WCF Service. Brother has an API called bPAC SDK version 3 which allows to print those labels. But the problem arises, as soon as we want to print from code only without showing a windows with a button on it. As an addition, this happens only if you want to print a QR-code as barcode. Standard EAN-codes seems to work. Below is a small piece of code which outputs the stuff to a bitmap instead of the printer (debugging reasons). DocumentClass doc = new DocumentClass(); if (doc.Open(templatePath)) { doc.GetObject("barcode1").Text = txtCompany.Text; doc.GetObject("barcode2").Text = txtName.Text; doc.Export(ExportType.bexBmp, testImagePath, 300); doc.Close(); } If this is called by a button click, it perfectly works. If this is called in Form.Show-event, it perfectly works. If this is called in Form.Load-event, it does NOT work. If this is called in a Form constructor, it does NOT work. If this is called somewhere else (without forms), it does NOT work. DocumentClass and related classes are COM-objects, so I guess the form setup/show process seems to do something which is not done without opening forms. I tried calling CoInitialize with a p/invoke, but it hadn't changed anything. Is there anyone out there willing and able to help me? Are there any alternatives which (also) MUST be able to print directly on our Brother printer? Thanks lot.

    I'm still a newbie with wcf and not too well informed in .net in general. I have a WCF 4 web service that uses the global.asax routing approach and very simplified web.config using the standard endpoint method. This wcf service runs as an application with the default web site on iis 7.5 at present. I need it support both http and https interfaces, if possible. If that's too complex then only https. How is that best handled maintaining the current approach?     In my application users can enter commands that are executed on the server. The results are added to a session object. I then stuff the session object into ViewData and add it to a textarea. When done with a standard HTML form whitespace is preserved. However, when I swap this out for an ajax form (Ajax.BeginForm) and return the result as ContentResult, the whitespace is removed.     Using Ninject.Web with ASP.NET WebForms project.     Hello, I have a flash video using the standard FLV Playback component that comes with Flash. I'm using ActionScript 3 to modify the appearance and set up an event listener. I've set it up to go to a new URL using "externalInterface" when the video completes play. The URL is set in a variable using SWFObject. On only a few instances (3 people out of 50 - tested using Amazon Turk), people reported being taken directly to the new url, before the video even started playing. It's difficult to repeat the issue, but it did happen to me once. It doesn't have anything to do with cache, since it has been reported on people going to the url for the first time.   • Need help understanding WPF MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride infinity and 0 sizes

    I'm trying to build a simple panel that contains one child and will snap it to nearest grid sizes. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this by overriding MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride. Here's what I'm after: I want my panel to tell its owner that (a) it wants to be as large as possible, then (b) when it finds out what that size is, it will size itself and its child UIElement according to the nearest smaller snap point. So if we're snapping to 10's, and I can be in a region no bigger than 192x184, the panel will tell its parent container "my actual size is going to be 190x180". That way anything bordering my control will be able to align to its edges, as opposed to the potential space. When I put my panel inside of a Grid, I get either 0 or PositiveInfinity (I forget) for the incoming size in the overrides, but what I need to know is "how big can my space actually get?" not infinities.. Part of the problem I think is what WPF considers magic values of PositiveInfinity and 0 for size. I need a way to say, via MeasureOverride "I can be as big as you will allow me" and in ArrangeOverride to actually size to the snapped size. Or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Measuring and arranging looks very complicated, just from wandering around a little in the code for the standard panels in Reflector.

    Hi I have a client web page that is sending a large json object to a proxy service on the same domain as the web page. The proxy (an ashx handler) then forwards the request to a WCF Rest Service. Using a WebClient object (standard .net object for making a http request) The JSON successfully arrives at the proxy via a jQuery POST on the client webpage.   • iPhone SDK 3.2 UIGestureRecognizer interfering with UIView animations?

    Are there known issues with gesture recognizers and the UIView class methods for animation? I am having problems with a sequence of animations on a UIImageView from UIGestureRecognizer callback. If the sequence of animations is started from a standard callback like TouchUpInside, the animation works fine. If it is started via the UILongPressGestureRecognizer, then the first animation jumps to the end and the second animation immediately begins. Here's a sample that illustrates my problem. In the .xib for the project, I have a UIImageView that is connected to the viewToMove IBOutlet. I also have a UIButton connected to the startButton IBOutlet, and I have connected its TouchUpInside action to the startButtonClicked IBAction. The TouchUpInside action works as I want it to, but the longPressGestureRecognizer skips to the end of the first animation after about half a second.   • Hibernate 3.5-Final in JBoss 5.1.0.GA

    Hibernate 3.5-Final is finally here and it offers the much anticipated JPA2 support, amongst other features. I am working on a project(EJB3 based) using JBoss 5.1.0.GA and Hibernate 3.3, but I wanted to take advantage of the JPA2 and tried to upgrade to Hibernate 3.5. What I did was fairly simple and standard - I just put all the hibernate 3.5 jars in the server/configuration(default,all,etc)/lib folder - that way they take precedence over the hibernate artifacts shipped with JBoss. It seems though that JBoss ships with libraries that are dependent on the JPA1 implementation part of the hibernate 3.3, because I started getting some errors about unimplemented abstract methods and stuff like that on deploy: 23:21:26,792 WARN [Ejb3Configuration] Persistence provider caller does not implement the EJB3 spec correctly.     I have implemented an IHttpAsyncHandler. I am making about 5 different AJAX calls from a webpage that has widgets to that handler. One of those widgets takes about 15 seconds to load(because of a large database query) the others should all load in under a second. The handler is responding in a synchronous manner. I am getting very inconsistent results. The ProcessRequest method is using Session and other class level variables. Could that be causing different requests to use the same thread instead each there own? I'm getting this... Request1 --- response 1 sec Request2 --- response 14 sec Request3 --- response 14.5 sec Request4 --- response 15 sec Request5 --- response 15.5 sec but I'm looking for something more like this... Also my machine.config has this entry... processModel autoConfig="true" with no other properties set. What else do I need to check for?

    My web app runs on .Net 3.5, all of the dates are saved on the DB in UTC time (not in user time). For some reason the TimeZoneInfo.ConvertTime don't know the Daylight saving time switch is on 26/3/10 so it still converts to GMT +2. The strange thing is that on localhost it works fine, I set up a test page: DateTime userdate = GetUserDateTime(DateTime.UtcNow); string str2 = "UserDateTime = " + userdate.ToString("dd/MM/yy") + " " + userdate.ToString("HH:mm"); On the Server (windows 2003 set to UTC time) it shows the wrong time (+2): UserDateTime = 27/03/10 21:38 On localhost (windows XP set to Israel Time) it shows the correct time (+3): UserDateTime = 27/03/10 22:38 How can I update the TimeZoneInfo that the Daylight saving time switch in Israel was on the 26/3/10?     Any suggestions would be great. I've inherited a system and have been requested to add a context menu item to allow the ability to add a new item. I've set up the context menu with the new option and the newform.aspx to accept and pull parameters from the url for populating some fields. I have a service that provides me all my DropDownLists, either from Cache or from the DomainService. They are presented as IEnumerable, and are requested from the a repository with GetLookup(LookupId). I am checking for my CustomAttribute and that works.   • Android orientation change causes ImageView to dissapear

    Below is my layout for the row template in a SimpleCursorAdapter. The ImageView with id next_arrow disappears on orientation change. If I replace @drawable/arrow with @drawable/icon (copy of the standard sym_def_app_icon) it works fine.   • Javascript or CSS hover not working in Safari and Chrome

    I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird! Correct function: The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery. The problem: In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process.   • Getting rid of scroll bar for position: absolute inside of position:relative inside of overflow:auto

    Hey guys, my first question here on stack overflow. Trying to get something pretty simple to work, I'm sure I'm missing something quite obvious. Still getting used to the "standard" css, too many years working with non-functional ones! Heh. So, sample of what I'm doing: <div style="overflow: auto; border: 1px solid"> hello <div style="position: relative; z-index: 99999; top: 0px; left: 0px;"> <div style="z-index: 99999; overflow-y: hidden; position: absolute; overflow: hidden; height: 200px; left: 0; auto: 0"> <ul> <li >New</li> <li >Old</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> In essence: The first div is a container, that I would like to automatically overflow as content is added. Inside of that container, I have a popup menu, which I have simplified here. The popup menu appears (as it should) directly under "hello". My problem, however, is that instead of the popup menu "coming out" of the parent, as would be expected by the absolute position, it is actually causing a scrollbar to appear on the parent. I know that if I take otu the "position: relative" it works, but then it no longer appars where I want it (directly under the previous element). What am I missing here?   • Philosophy of [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)]

    Hi everyone, I'm writing what I'm referring to as a POJ (Plain Old JSON) WCF web service - one that takes and emits standard JSON with none of the crap that ASP.NET Ajax likes to add to it. It seems that there are three steps to accomplish this: Change to in the endpoint's tag Decorate the method with [WebInvoke(ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] Add an incantation of [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] to the service contract This is all working OK for me - I can pass in and am being returned nice plain JSON. If I remove the WebInvoke attribute, then I get XML returned instead, so it is certainly doing what it is supposed to do. But it strikes me as odd that the option to specify JSON output appears here and not in the configuration file. Say I wanted to expose my method as an XML endpoint too - how would I do this? Currently the only way I can see would be to have a second method that does exactly the same thing but does not have WebMethodFormat.Json specified. Then rinse and repeat for every method in my service? Yuck. Specifying that the output should be serialized to JSON in the attribute seems to be completely contrary to the philosophy of WCF, where the service is implemented is a transport and encoding agnostic manner, leaving the nasty details of how the data will be moved around to the configuration file. Is there a better way of doing what I want to do? Or are we stuck with this awkward attribute? Or do I not understanding WCF deeply enough?

  • Instructions on using TortoiseGit to interact with an SVN repository?

    I've been using TortoiseSVN on Windows for years with local filesystem repositories for my own projects. I'm planning to start collaborating with a friend on one of the projects, and will be shifting the repository to my own website. I've read a lot of "git beats SVN!" posts over the last couple years, and figured I ought to at least see what the fuss was about. Some research turned up the "git svn" command, and that TortoiseGit claims to have some level of git-svn support. I like the idea of keeping the SVN repository, and doing some local commits or branches with git before committing them to the repository. The "shelve" command also sounds useful. Unfortunately, while there's a number of CLI git-svn tutorials, there's nothing for TortoiseGit (which admittedly seems to be still in early development). As a result, I'm having problems trying to figure out what workflow I need to get these pieces to cooperate. I have an SVN repository in D:\Projects\repositories\MyProject. I created D:\Projects\temp\gittest, and tried to do a TortoiseGit "Git Clone" of the repository. From there, I've had issues trying to indicate the location of the trunk/branches/tags folders (which are just the standard layout in my repository). I was only able to get useful results when I left those unchecked. When I did seem to get the git repository started correctly, I was able to make some changes and do a couple git commits, but then had problems doing an SVN DCommit. So, I'm hoping someone out there can provide a reasonably detailed set of instructions on how to correctly use TortoiseGit with an existing SVN repository (with the repository on either the local filesystem or on a remote server). No "don't use SVN!" responses, please - I'm interested in learning how to get these two pieces to work together. If you feel TortoiseGit's SVN support isn't mature enough to make this work, that would also be useful information. Thanks!
