  • How to implement checkout/basket system

    Hi, I'm making an app for fun and would like to know how to implement a checkout/basket system on the app. Basically, a list of products is pulled in from a web server in form of XML file, which is then displayed in a UITableView controller. A tap on the cell takes the user to a more detailed overview of the product. The app would need to be able to get the product into a basket type thing, and this is where I'm getting stuck. Are there any code samples that I could take a look at?

    hello, i'm trying to build a mini reply system, based on the user's posts on a mini blog. Every post has a link named reply. if one presses reply, the reply form appears, and one edits the reply, and submits the form.The problem is that i don't know how to take the id of the post i want to reply to. In the view, if i use as a parameter one number (as an id of the blog post),it inserts the reply to the database. But how can i do it by not hardcoding?     I'm new to ubuntu, and might have had a couple of false starts updating ruby / rails.     Hello, I'm new to C# and am stuck on the following. I have a Silverlight web service that uses LINQ to query a ADO.NET entity object. e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<Customer> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } This works fine, but what I want to do is to make this more abstract. The first step would be to return a List<EntityObject> but this gives a compiler error, e.g.: [OperationContract] public List<EntityObject> GetData() { using (TestEntities ctx = new TestEntities()) { var data = from rec in ctx.Customer select rec; return data.ToList(); } } The error is: Error 1 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Collections.Generic.List<SilverlightTest.Web.Customer>' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityObject>'.     I have a strong type view of type List<List<MyViewModelClass>> The outer list will always have two lists of List<MyViewModelClass>. For each of the two outer lists I want to display a group of checkboxes. Each set can have an arbitrary number of choices. My view model class looks similar to this: public class MyViewModelClass { public Area Area { get; set; } public bool IsGeneric { get; set; } public string Code { get; set; } public bool IsChecked { get; set; } } So the final view will look something like: Please select those that apply: First set of choices: x Option 1 x Option 2 x Option 3 etc. Second set of choices: x Second Option 1 x Second Option 2 x Second Option 3 x Second Option 4 etc. Checkboxes should display MyViewModelClass.Area.Name, and their value should be related to MyViewModelClass.Area.Id. Checked state is of course related to MyViewModel.IsChecked. Question I wonder how should I use Html.CheckBox() or Html.CheckBoxFor() helper to display my checkboxes? I have to get these values back to the server on a postback of course. I would like to have my controller action like one of these: public ActionResult ConsumeSelections(List<List<MyViewModelClass>> data) { // process data } public ActionResult ConsumeSelections(List<MyViewModelClass> first, List<MyViewModelClass> second) { // process data } If it makes things simpler, I could make a separate view model type like: public class Options { public List First { get; set; } public List Second { get; set; } } As well as changing my first version of controller action to: public ActionResult ConsumeSelections(Options data) { // process data }

    I would like to create a non-VBA based solution to the following question: How do I create a multi-series chart that will allow a user to select from a dropdown to change the data being graphed? I can do this already when the data series is contiguous; however, I'd like to be able to do it for non-contiguous data. Is this possible?     I am writing a tool which communicates with more than one version control system, either subversion or clearcase, and has various utilities which can be plugged into it. I though of using MEF to load the version control providers, and utiilities, both of which have interfaces definied for them. I've started to use MEF for this. But if loading any plugin fails (on half my clients machines, the ClearCase COM bindings won't be present, so loading will fail, on the other half SVN won't be installed, so the SVN plugin won't load) though, MEF throws an exception and no plugin works; I was hoping that the rest of the plugins would load. [ImportMany(AllowRecomposition = true)] public IEnumerable<IVersionControl> RegisteredProviders { get; private set; } Instead, if any providers fail to construct themselves, then RegisteredProviders is null. Is there a simple way of configuring MEF to achieve this (reporting exceptions but loading other instances), or do I have to change the interface to delay their intialisation failure until after MEF has instantiated the objects?

  • Sql Server Select Command and too much data sent to winforms application

    When you have an application and send a select command, the sql server gathers all the data and sends them back to your application and fills your datagrid (for example) If you performed the same select command in sql management studio, immediately as the query starts running and finding data the results panel would start filling with the data found. How can I do that for my winforms application? Is there a technique or a standard method of doing something like this? Links to good examples would be an immense help. thanks

    I'm trying to figure out the best build system for latex. Currently, I use latex-makefile, editing in vim, and viewing changes in Okular or gv. The major problem is that it sometimes gets hides errors on me, and I have to run latex manually. The major advantages are that it does all the iteration I need, and offers both pdf and ps simply. If you have experience with latex-mk vim-latex kile lyx miktex latex-makefile the ultimate latex makefile rubber any others I havent come across Would you recommend them, and why/why not?

  • Processing potentially large STDIN data, more than once

    I'd like to provide an accessor on a class that provides an NSInputStream for STDIN, which may be several hundred megabytes (or gigabytes, though unlikely, perhaps) of data. When I caller gets this NSInputStream it should be able to read from it without worrying about exhausting the data it contains. In other words, another block of code may request the NSInputStream and will expect to be able to read from it. Without first copying all of the data into an NSData object which (I assume) would cause memory exhaustion, what are my options for handling this? The returned NSInputStream does not have to be the same instance, it simply needs to provide the same data. The best I can come up with right now is to copy STDIN to a temporary file and then return NSInputStream instances using that file. Is this pretty much the only way to handle it? Is there anything I should be cautious of if I go the temporary file route?

Before that as a check I tried to ftp unix sever from windows but it gave connection refused error(Do I need to provide my username and password,if that is the case what is the syntax). But I am able to connect through putty which asks for my user name and password. Does putty uses a different protocol. So if that is the case does ftp task works for me in ANT?. If not what task I need to use?

    I'm a photographer and I have a requirement find a better method of storing my photos other than multiple USB2 drives via USB hubs. Currently I use a Macbook Pro and 6 external drives connected via USB2 or FW800. 3 are a copy of the first three, kept up to day manually by running an rsync backup. I'd like to run a FreeNAS or OpenFiler NAS box using 2TB drives mirrored via software RAID. But - I would like to have the flexibility of also plugging into the drive physically for the faster throughput when necessary. So. My question is, is there a file system that both *nix and Mac OSX will play nice with? Many thanks, Chris.

    I have an application where a Hilbert R-Tree (wikipedia) (citeseer) would seem to be an appropriate data structure. Specifically, it requires reasonably fast spatial queries over a data set that will experience a lot of updates. However, as far as I can see, none of the descriptions of the algorithms for this data structure even mention how to actually calculate the requisite Hilbert Value; which is the distance along a Hilbert Curve to the point. So any suggestions for how to go about calculating this?

    i have a java process that reads data from a socket server. Thus i have a BufferedReader and a PrintWriter object corresponding to that socket. Now in the same java process i have a multithreaded java server that accepts client connections. I want to achieve a functionality where all these clients that i accept can read data from the BufferedReader object that i mentioned above.(so that they can multiplex the data) How do i make these individual client threads read the data from BuffereReader single object?     Hi, Im trying to learn the code igniter library and object oriented php in general and have a question. Ok so Ive gotten as far as making a page which loads all of the rows from my database and in there, Im echoing an anchor tag which is a link to the following structure. [code]echo anchor("videos/video/$row-video_id", $row-video_title);[/code] So, I have a class called Videos which extends the controller, within that class there is index and video, which is being called correctly (when you click on the video title, it sends you to videos/video/5 for example, 5 being the primary key of the table im working with. So basically all Im trying to do is pass that 5 back to the controller, and then have the particular video page output the particular rows data from the videos table. My function in my controller for video looks like this - [code] function video() { $data['main_content'] = 'video'; $data['video_title'] = 'test'; $this-load-view('includes/template', $data); } [/code] So ya, basically test should be instead of test, a returned value of a query which says get in the table "videos", the row with the video_id of "5", and make $data['video_title'] = value of video_title in database... Should have this figured out by now but dont, any help would be appreciated!

But my users have started complained that the messages in their outbox suddently dissapers =D Thats because if the other users deletes it, the one who sent it wont see it to.   • Implementing a Suspension or Penalty System for Users in ASP.NET MVC

    I'm writing a site in ASP.NET MVC that will have user accounts. As the site will be oriented towards discussion, I think I need a system for admins to be able to moderate users, just like we have here, on Stack Overflow. I'd like to be able to put a user into a "suspension", so that they are able to log in to the site (at which point they are greeted with a message, such as, "Your account has been suspended until [DATE]"), but are unable to do the functions that users they would normally be able to do. What's the best way of implementing this? I was thinking of creating a "Suspended" role, but the thing is, I have a few different roles for normal users themselves, with different privileges. Have you ever designed a feature like this before? How should I do it? Thanks in advance.
