• Accented character regex

  I'm trying to create a regex that will look for french words whether a user specifies the accented characters or not. So if the the user has searched for "déclaré" but types in declare instead I would like to be able to match the text still. I'm having difficulty making this more dynamic so that it can be matched on any french word... Closest example from another user from a different post was: d[eèéê]cl[aàáâ]r[eèéê] Is it even possible to write a regex for something like this? Any advice would be much appreciated.

• How to escape/strip special characters in the LaTeX document?

  We implemented the online service where it is possible to generate PDF with predefined structure. User can choose a LaTeX template and then compile it with an appropriate inputs. The question we worry about is the security, that the malicious user was not able to gain shell access through the injection of special instruction into latex document. We need some workaround for this or at least a list of special characters that we should strip from the input data. Preferred language would be PHP, but any suggestions, constructions and links are very welcomed. PS. in few word we're looking form mysql_real_escape_string for LaTeX

  Hi, I am running a C# application, and during run-time I get the following error: The CLR has been unable to transition from COM context 0x20e480 to COM context 0x20e5f0 for 60 seconds. The thread that owns the destination context/apartment is most likely either doing a non pumping wait or processing a very long running operation without pumping Windows messages. This situation generally has a negative performance impact and may even lead to the application becoming non responsive or memory usage accumulating continually over time. To avoid this problem, all single threaded apartment (STA) threads should use pumping wait primitives (such as CoWaitForMultipleHandles) and routinely pump messages during long running operations. Can anyone please help me out with the problem here? Thanks a lot.

• SSIS - Connection Management Within a Loop

  Hi I have the following SSIS package: The problem is that within the Foreach loop a connection is opened and closed for each iteration. On running SQL Profiler I see a series of: Audit Login RPC:Completed Audit Lout The duration for the login and the RPC that actually does the work is minimal. However, the duration for the logout is significant, running into several seconds each. This causes the JOB to run very slowly - taking many hours. I get the same problem when running either on a test server or stand-alone laptop. Could anyone please suggest how I may change the package to improve performance? Also, I have noticed that when running the package from Visual Studio, it looks as though it continues to run with the component blocks going amber then green but actually all the processing has been completed and SQL profiler has dropped silent? • VB.net Need Text Box to Only Accept Numbers

  I'm fairly new to VB.net (self taught) and was just wondering if someone out there could help me out with some code. I'm not trying to do anything to invovled, just have a textbox that takes numeric value from 1 to 10. I don't want it to take a string or any number above 10. If some types a word or character an error message will appear, telling them to enter a valid number. This is what I have, obviously it's not great as I am having problems.   I just created a script which extracts the article out of a webpage via server-side JS. (If your interested: it's used for http://pipes.yahoo.com/fb55/expandr .) I just got a little problem with internal links. Some pages include links like: /subfolder/subpage.html What I would need to do is fixing them and setting there root, like this: protocol://secondlevel.firstlevel/subfolder/subpage.html I'm using E4X for processing the page. I don't want to show my current creepy try, it's buggy and slow. Does anybody have a solution for me?

What will be the SQL Query for this? A LINQ query will be more better. If you know a better way to achieve this, please help.

• Managing Data Prefetching and Dependencies with .NET Typed Datasets

  I'm using .NET typed datasets on a project, and I often get into situations where I prefetch data from several tables into a dataset and then pass that dataset to several methods for processing. It seems cleaner to let each method decide exactly which data it needs and then load the data itself. However, several of the methods work with the same data, and I want the performance benefit of loading data in the beginning only once. My problem is that I don't know of a good way or pattern to use for managing dependencies (I want to be sure I load all the data that I'm going to need for each class/method that will use the dataset). Currently, I just end up looking through the code for the various classes that will use the dataset to make sure I'm loading everything appropriately. What are good approaches or patterns to use in this situation? Am I doing something fundamentally wrong? Although I'm using typed datasets, this seems like it would be a common situation where prefetching data is used. Thanks!

  Hi I want to conduct search on a particular column of a table in such a way that returning result set should satify following 2 conditions: Returning result set should have records whose 90% of the characters matches with the given search text. Returning result set should have records whose 70% of the consecutive characters matches with the given search text. It implies that when 10 character word Sukhminder is searched, then: it should return records like Sukhmindes, ukhminder, Sukhmindzr, because it fulfils both of the above mentioned conditions. But it should not return records like Sukhmixder because it does not fulfil the second condition. Likewise, It should not return record Sukhminzzz because it does not fulfil the first condition. I am trying to use Full Text Search feature of SQL Server. But, could not formulate the required query yet. Kindly reply ASAP.

  I have a fairly simple domain model involving a list of Facility aggregate roots. Given that I'm using CQRS and an event-bus to handle events raised from the domain, how could you handle validation on sets? For example, say I have the following requirement: Facility's must have a unique name. Since I'm using an eventually consistent database on the query side, the data in it is not guaranteed to be accurate at the time the event processesor processes the event. For example, a FacilityCreatedEvent is in the query database event processing queue waiting to be processed and written into the database. A new CreateFacilityCommand is sent to the domain to be processed. The domain services query the read database to see if there are any other Facility's registered already with that name, but returns false because the CreateNewFacilityEvent has not yet been processed and written to the store. The new CreateFacilityCommand will now succeed and throw up another FacilityCreatedEvent which would blow up when the event processor tries to write it into the database and finds that another Facility already exists with that name.

I've added a timeout on the read and write operation by using select prior to read or write on the socket. Select is known to be inefficient when dealing with large number of sockets. • What to return when making an Ajax request

  When we return data from an Ajax call, is it better to return a document containing HTML to display on the page or return an Xml/json data which can be processed? I know different circumstances may determine what 'better' means, but I really want to know which will be more appropriate for different circumstances. I am working on the framework for a large ASP .Net application, using jQuery Ajax (forms plugin). My initial thought was to return the data as Xml, then process accordingly.   Hi, I am developing an application using PHP but I am new to regular expressions, I could not find a solution to my problem. I want to replace all occurences of #word with a link, i have written a preg_match for this: $text=preg_replace('~#([\p{L}|\p{N}]+)~u', '<a href="/?aranan=$1">#$1</a>', $text); The problem is, this regular expression also matches the html character codes like &#039; and gives corrupt output. I need to exclude the words starting with &# but i do not know how to do that using regular expressions. Thanks for your help.

I call same API in same backgroundworker. In the middle of processing my application crashes. But If I dont assign the dataSource in ProgressChanged my application doesnt crashes.

  Hey there, Recently I ran into a very strange issue: touching the screen of the iPhone and moving a finger around can eat up to 50% of my FPS. Yeah, I checked my code for possible bottlenecks – not the issue. The last resort I tried before writing this post – commenting out all the touch processing code and looking at FPS then. Results are: no touches – 58-60. Touching and moving the finger – 35-40 FPS instantly. The rendering is done in a separate thread, so that no main runloop events shall collide with it. However, it's very crushial for me (and the game I develop) to resolve this issue, because such FPS drop is really noticeable. Thank you for your help in advance. UPDATE: seems that setting rendering thread's priority to higher value helps a bit...

• Best way to correct garbled data caused by false encoding

  Hi all, I have a set of data that contains garbled text fields because of encoding errors during many import/exports from one database to another. Most of the errors were caused by converting UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1. Strangely enough, the errors are not consistent: the word 'München' appears as 'München' in some place and as 'MÃœnchen'. Is there a trick in SQL server to correct this kind of crap? The first thing that I can think of is to exploit the COLLATE clause, so that ü is interpreted as ü, but I don't exactly know how. If it isn't possible to make it in the DB level, do you know any tool that helps for a bulk correction? (no manual find/replace tool, but a tool that guesses the garbled text somehow and correct them)
