  • asp.net master page/content page interaction with style sheet

    - by Matt
    Learning how to do a master page in asp.net. Trying to figure out how my style sheet interacts with respects to the master page and content page. I can get HTML tags like body and the style sheet to react. But when I call the ID attribute of a label no styling takes place. What am I missing here as far as interaction? BTW I'm using VS2008 CSS sample: body { height:1200px; width:920px; border-style:solid; border-color:blue; padding:10px 10px 10px 10px; } #toptext1 { position:relative; top:-225px; right:-500px; font-size:22px; font-weight:bold; } From the master page: <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:image id="cookNookLogo" ImageUrl="images/Logo.gif" runat="server" AlternateText="CookNook" Width="449px"></asp:image> <p> <asp:Label ID="toptext1" runat="server" Text="Quality Recipes, Hints and Supplies"></asp:Label> </p> From the content page: <%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/CNMasterPage.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Home.aspx.cs" Inherits="Home" Title="Untitled Page" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="head" Runat="Server"> <link href="App_Themes/cn/cn.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </asp:Content> When I was doing this without a master page it worked so where am I going wrong with the attributes?

  • how to query with child relations to same table and order this correctly

    - by robertpnl
    Hi, Take this table: id name sub_id --------------------------- 1 A (null) 2 B (null) 3 A2 1 4 A3 1 The sub_id column is a relation to his owm table, to column ID. subid --- 0:1 --- id Now I have the problem to make a correctly SELECT query to show that the child rows (which sub_id is not null) directly selected under his parent row. So this must be a correctly order: 1 A (null) 3 A2 1 4 A3 1 2 B (null) A normal SELECT order the id. But how or which keyword help me to order this correctly? JOIN isn't possible I think because I want to get all the rows seperated. Because the rows will be displayed on a Gridview (ASP.Net) with EntityDataSource but the child rows must be displayed directly under his parent. Thank you.

  • Alignment of View Elements within a LinearLayout

    - by Adam
    I hate to ask this question; for some reason I can't figure it out on my own. I have a vertical LinearLayout that contains a custom View that I've defined in my app and and a TextView. I'd like my custom View to be aligned on the top of the screen and the TextView to be aligned at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, no matter what changes I make to the attributes of the XML file, my custom View always seems to be centered vertically when I run the emulator. The xml is like the following: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="top"> <CustomView android:id="@+id/customID" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" tileSize="24" android:focusableInTouchMode="true" android:layout_gravity="top"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/text" android:text="@string/droidtactoe_layout_text" android:visibility="visible" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:textSize="24sp" android:textColor="#00000000" android:layout_gravity="bottom"/> </LinearLayout>

  • RichFaces a4j:support parameter passing

    - by Mark Lewis
    Hello I have a number of rich:inplaceInput tags in RichFaces which represent numbers in an array. The validator allows integers only. When a user clicks in an input and changes a value, how can I get the bean to sort the array given the new number and reRender the list of rich:inplaceInput tags so that they're in numerical order? EG <a4j:region> <rich:dataTable value="#{MyBacking.config}" var="feed" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%" border="0" columns="5" id="Admin"> ... <a4j:repeat... <a4j:region id="MsgCon"> <rich:inplaceInput value="#{h.id}" validator="#{MyBacking.validateID}" id="andID" showControls="true"> <a4j:support event="onviewactivated" action="#{MyBacking.sort}" reRender="Admin" /> </rich:inplaceInput> </a4j:region> </a4j:repeat> </data:Table> </a4j:region> Note I do NOT want to use dataTable sort functions. The table is complicated and I've specified id="Admin" (ie the whole table) to reRender as I've not found a way to send more localised values to the backing bean through the inplaceInput. This question is about how to use a4j:support action attribute to call the sort method so that when the reRender rerenders the component, it outputs the list in sorted order. I have the sort method working ok when I click a button to sort, but I want to have the list sorted automatically as soon as a new valid value is entered into the inplaceInput component. Thanks

  • How can I prevent a textbox from taking focus on the postback when I have a calendar extender on it?

    - by Biff MaGriff
    Hello, I have repeater, inside this repeater is a user control. In my c# codebehind on my user control I dynamically add a textbox and assign a calendar extender to it. Similar to this. //custom control protected void Page_Load(object o, EventArgs e) { TextBox tb = new TextBox(); tb.ID = "myTextBox"; MaskedEditExtender meeDate = new MaskedEditExtender(); meeDate.ID = "meeDate"; meeDate.TargetControlID = this.UniqueID + "$" + tb.ID; meeDate.Mask = "99/99/9999"; meeDate.MaskType = MaskedEditType.Date; CalendarExtender ce = new CalendarExtender(); ce.ID = "ceCalendar"; ce.TargetControlID = this.UniqueID + "$" + tb.ID; this.Controls.Add(tbDate); this.Controls.Add(meeDate); this.Controls.Add(ce); } This works well, however after I postback the textbox takes focus and the calendar extender fires and it looks really.... dumb. How can I stop this?

  • Jaxb unmarshalls fixml object but all fields are null

    - by DUFF
    I have a small XML document in the FIXML format. I'm unmarshalling them using jaxb. The problem The process complete without errors but the objects which are created are completely null. Every field is empty. The fields which are lists (like the Qty) have the right number of object in them. But the fields of those objects are also null. Setup I've downloaded the FIXML schema from here and I've created the classes with xjc and the maven plugin. They are all in the package org.fixprotocol.fixml_5_0_sp2. I've got the sample xml in a file FIXML.XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <FIXML> <Batch> <PosRpt> <Pty ID="GS" R="22"/> <Pty ID="01" R="5"/> <Pty ID="6U8" R="28"> </Pty> <Pty ID="GS" R="22"/> <Pty ID="6U2" R="2"/> <Instrmt ID="GHPKRW" SecTyp="FWD" MMY="20121018" MatDt="2012-10-18" Mult="1" Exch="GS" PxQteCcy="KJS" FnlSettlCcy="GBP" Fctr="0.192233298" SettlMeth="G" ValMeth="FWDC2" UOM="Ccy" UOMCCy="USD"> <Evnt EventTyp="121" Dt="2013-10-17"/> <Evnt EventTyp="13" Dt="2013-10-17"/> </Instrmt> <Qty Long="0.000" Short="22000000.000" Typ="PNTN"/> <Qty Long="0.000" Short="22000000.000" Typ="FIN"/> <Qty Typ="DLV" Long="0.00" Short="0.00" Net="0.0"/> <Amt Typ="FMTM" Amt="32.332" Ccy="USD"/> <Amt Typ="CASH" Amt="1" Rsn="3" Ccy="USD"/> <Amt Typ="IMTM" Amt="329.19" Ccy="USD"/> <Amt Typ="DLV" Amt="0.00" Ccy="USD"/> <Amt Typ="BANK" Amt="432.23" Ccy="USD"/> </PosRpt> Then I'm calling the unmarshaller with custom event handler which just throws an exception on a parse error. The parsing complete so I know there are no errors being generated. I'm also handling the namespace as suggested here // sort out the file String xmlFile = "C:\\FIXML.XML.xml"; System.out.println("Loading XML File..." + xmlFile); InputStream input = new FileInputStream(xmlFile); InputSource is = new InputSource(input); // create jaxb context JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("org.fixprotocol.fixml_5_0_sp2"); Unmarshaller unmarshaller = jc.createUnmarshaller(); // add event handler so jacB will fail on an error CustomEventHandler validationEventHandler = new CustomEventHandler(); unmarshaller.setEventHandler(validationEventHandler); // set the namespace NamespaceFilter inFilter = new NamespaceFilter("http://www.fixprotocol.org/FIXML-5-0-SP2", true); inFilter.setParent(SAXParserFactory.newInstance().newSAXParser().getXMLReader()); SAXSource source = new SAXSource(inFilter, is); // GO! JAXBElement<FIXML> fixml = unmarshaller.unmarshal(source, FIXML.class); The fixml object is created. In the above sample the Amt array will have five element which matches the number of amts in the file. But all the fields like ccy are null. I've put breakpoints in the classes created by xjc and none of the setters are ever called. So it appears that jaxb is unmarshalling and creating all the correct objects, but it's never calling the setters?? I'm completely stumped on this. I've seen a few posts that suggrest making sure the package.info file that was generated by xjc is in the packags and I've made sure that it's there. There are no working in the IDE about the generated code. Any help much appreciated.

  • How to select parent row only if has at least one child?

    - by Matt McCormick
    I have a simple one-to-many relationship. I would like to select rows from the parent only when they have at least one child. So, if there are no children, then the parent row is not returned in the result set. Eg. Parent: +--+---------+ |id| text | +--+---------+ | 1| Blah | | 2| Blah2 | | 3| Blah3 | +--+---------+ Children +--+------+-------+ |id|parent| other | +--+------+-------+ | 1| 1 | blah | | 2| 1 | blah2 | | 3| 2 | blah3 | +--+------+-------+ I want the results to be: +----+------+ |p.id|p.text| +----+------+ | 1 | Blah | | 2 | Blah2| +----+------+

  • CSS Collapsing/Hiding divs with no data in <span>

    - by Chance
    I am trying to display an address which includes the following information: Title, division, address1, address2, town/state/zip, and country (5 seperate lines worth of data). The problem is sometimes the company may only have the title, address1, and town/state/zip yet other times it may be all but address2. This is determined upon a db record request server side. Therefore how can I make my output look proper when some of my labels will be blank? I would like div's that contain an empty span to be essentially collapsed/removed. My only idea of how was to use jquery and a selector to find all divs with blank spans (since thats all an asp.net label really is) and then remove those divs however this seems like such bad form. Is there any way to do this with css? Possible Code would be something like: $('span:empty:only-child').parent('div').remove(); Picture Examples (Ignore spacing/indentation issues which I will fix) Missing Division, Address2, and Country All Possible Fields The Html <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddressHeader" CssClass="lblBillingAddressHeader" Text="Billing Address:" /> <div style="position:relative; top:150px; left: 113px;"> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingDivision" CssClass="lblBillingShippingDivisionFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress2" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress3" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> <div class="test"> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblBillingAddress4" CssClass="lblBillingShippingFont" /> </div> </div> The CSS .test { position: relative; top: 0px; left: 0px; height: 12px; width: 300px; } .lblBillingShippingDivisionFont { font-size: small; font-weight: bold; } .lblBillingShippingFont { font-size: 10.6px; }

  • How do I use ViewScripts on Zend_Form File Elements?

    - by Sonny
    I am using this ViewScript for my standard form elements: <div class="field" id="field_<?php echo $this->element->getId(); ?>"> <?php if (0 < strlen($this->element->getLabel())) : ?> <?php echo $this->formLabel($this->element->getName(), $this->element->getLabel());?> <?php endif; ?> <span class="value"><?php echo $this->{$this->element->helper}( $this->element->getName(), $this->element->getValue(), $this->element->getAttribs() ) ?></span> <?php if (0 < $this->element->getMessages()->length) : ?> <?php echo $this->formErrors($this->element->getMessages()); ?> <?php endif; ?> <?php if (0 < strlen($this->element->getDescription())) : ?> <span class="hint"><?php echo $this->element->getDescription(); ?></span> <?php endif; ?> </div> Trying to use that ViewScript alone results in an error: Exception caught by form: No file decorator found... unable to render file element Looking at this FAQ revealed part of my problem, and I updated my form element decorators like this: 'decorators' => array( array('File'), array('ViewScript', array('viewScript' => 'form/field.phtml')) ) Now it's rendering the file element twice, once within my view script, and extra elements with the file element outside my view script: <input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="8388608" id="MAX_FILE_SIZE" /> <input type="hidden" name="UPLOAD_IDENTIFIER" value="4b5f7335a55ee" id="progress_key" /> <input type="file" name="upload_file" id="upload_file" /> <div class="field" id="field_upload_file"> <label for="upload_file">Upload File</label> <span class="value"><input type="file" name="upload_file" id="upload_file" /></span> </div> Any ideas on how to handle this properly with a ViewScript?

    - by Karl Entwistle
    Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue im having, basically id like to have Account.create after a PayPal notification is received, There is a simple cart model which corresponds to line_items within the cart so add_account_to_market would look like this in pseudo code def add_account_to_market if status == "Completed" find the line items(via cart_id) that correspond to the cart.id that just been paid create an account with user_id set to the current carts user id end end Ive never tried to do something like this in Rails and its not working, Ive been pulling my hair out all night trying to fix this, hopefully someone can help or point me in the right direction. Thanks :) class PaymentNotification < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :cart serialize :params after_create :mark_cart_as_purchased after_create :add_account_to_market private def mark_cart_as_purchased if status == "Completed" cart.update_attribute(:purchased_at, Time.now) cart.update_attribute(:paid, true) end end def add_account_to_market if status == "Completed" l = LineItem.find(:all, :conditions => "cart_id = '#{cart.id}'") for l.quantity Account.new(:user_id => cart.user_id) end end end end PS mark_cart_as_purchased method is working fine, its just the add_account_to_market im having issues with.

  • InnoDB Cascade Rule that looks at 2 columns?

    - by Travis
    I have the following mysql InnoDB tables... TABLE foldersA ( ID title ) TABLE foldersB ( ID title ) TABLE records ( ID folderID folderType title ) folderID in table "records" can point to ID in either "foldersA" or "foldersB" depending on the value of folderType. (0 or 1). I am wondering: Is there a way to create a CASCADE rule such that the appropriate rows in table records are automatically deleted when a row in either foldersA or folderB is deleted? Or in this situation, am I forced to have to delete the rows in table "records" programatically? Thanks for you help!

    I need to map to create controller what must response to two urls: "http://localhost/api/controller?id=1" (where only id value can change) "http://localhost/api/controller/anotherId/someconst" (where anotherId is the only one changing part) i map it to such route: routes.MapHttpRoute("Test", "api/{controller}/{id}/{someconst}", new { controller = "Test", someconst = RouteParameter.Optional }); And have to methods in my controller: public void Get(int id) { ... } public void Get(int anotherId, string someconst ) { ... } It works...But it doesn't look nice...cause "string someconst" is not a param, it's just a const part of url. But if i remove "string someconst" param second url wouldn't work. Is it possible to map one controller to two routes to resolve this urls to make it clear without fake param which is a const in fact?

  • Trying to fadein divs in a sequence, over time, using JQuery

    - by user346602
    Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to make 4 images fade in sequentially when the page loads. The following is my (amateurish) code: Here is the HTML: <div id="outercorners"> <img id="corner1" src="images/corner1.gif" width="6" height="6" alt=""/> <img id="corner2" src="images/corner2.gif" width="6" height="6" alt=""/> <img id="corner3" src="images/corner3.gif" width="6" height="6" alt=""/> <img id="corner4" src="images/corner4.gif" width="6" height="6" alt=""/> </div><!-- end #outercorners--> Here is the JQuery: $(document).ready(function() { $("#corner1").fadeIn("2000", function(){ $("#corner3").fadeIn("4000", function(){ $("#corner2").fadeIn("6000", function(){ $("#corner4").fadeIn("8000", function(){ }); }); }); }); Here is the css: #outercorners { position: fixed; top:186px; left:186px; width:558px; height:372px; } #corner1 { position: fixed; top:186px; left:186px; display: none; } #corner2 { position: fixed; top:186px; left:744px; display: none; } #corner3 { position: fixed; top:558px; left:744px; display: none; } #corner4 { position: fixed; top:558px; left:186px; display: none; } They seem to just wink at me, rather than fade in in the order I've ascribed to them. Should I be using the queue() function? And, if so, how would I implement it in this case? Thank you for any assistance.

  • How can I programmatically add triggers to an ASP.NET UpdatePanel?

    - by scottm
    I am trying to write a quote generator. For each product, there are a set of options. I want to dynamically add a drop down list for each option, and then have their SelectedIndexChanged events all wired up to update the quote cost. I am not having any trouble adding the DropDownList controls to my UpdatePanel, but I can't seem to wire up the events. After the page loads, the drop downs are there, with their data, but changing them does not call the SelectedIndexChanged event handler, nor does the QuoteUpdatePanel update. I have something like this: QuotePanel.ASCX <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager" runat="server" /> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="QuoteUpdatePanel" runat="server" ChildrenAsTriggers="true"> <ContentTemplate> Cost: <asp:Label ID="QuoteCostLabel" runat="server" /> <fieldset id="standard-options"> <legend>Standard Options</legend> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="StandardOptionsUpdatePanel" runat="server" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> </fieldset> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> The code to add the dropdowns and the event they are to be wire up for: protected void PopluateUpdatePanel(IQuoteProperty standardOptions) foreach (IQuoteProperty standardOp in standardOptions) { QuotePropertyDropDownList<IQuoteProperty> dropDownList = new QuotePropertyDropDownList<IQuoteProperty>(standardOp); dropDownList.SelectedIndexChanged += new EventHandler(QuotePropertyDropDown_SelectedIndexChanged); dropDownList.ID = standardOp.GetType().Name + "DropDownList"; ScriptManager.RegisterAsyncPostBackControl(dropDownList); Label propertyLabel = new Label() {Text = standardOp.Title, CssClass = "quote-property-label"}; this.StandardOptionsUpdatePanel.ContentTemplateContainer.Controls.Add(propertyLabel); this.StandardOptionsUpdatePanel.ContentTemplateContainer.Controls.Add(dropDownList); _standardOptionsListBoxes.Add(dropDownList); AsyncPostBackTrigger trigger = new AsyncPostBackTrigger() { ControlID = dropDownList.UniqueID, EventName = "SelectedIndexChanged" }; this.StandardOptionsUpdatePanel.Triggers.Add(trigger); } } void QuotePropertyDropDown_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { QuoteCostLabel.Text = QuoteCost.ToString(); }

  • sql select with exact outcome

    - by Shiro
    Asking a simple question, just want everyone have fun to solve it. I got 2 tables. 1. Student 2. Course Student +----+--------+ | id | name | +----+--------+ | 1 | User1 | | 2 | User2 | +----+--------+ Course +----+------------+------------+ | id | student_id | course_name| +----+------------+------------+ | 1 | 1 | English | | 2 | 1 | Chinese | | 3 | 2 | English | | 4 | 2 | Japanese | +----+------------+------------+ I would like to get the result all student, who have taken English and Chinese, NOT English or Chinese. Expected result: +----+------------+------------+ | id | student_id | course_name| +----+------------+------------+ | 1 | 1 | English | | 2 | 1 | Chinese | +----+------------+------------+ What we normally do is select * from student join course on (student.id = course.student_id) WHERE course_name = 'English' OR course_name = 'Chinese' but in this result I can get User2 record which is not my expected result. I want the record only display the User take the course English+Chinese only.

  • CakePHP Routes: Messing With The MVC

    - by thesunneversets
    So we have a real-estate-related site that has controller/action pairs like "homes/view", "realtors/edit", and so forth. From on high it has been deemed a good idea to refactor the site so that URLS are now in the format "/realtorname/homes/view/id", and perhaps also "/admin/homes/view/id" and/or "/region/..." As a mere CakePHP novice I'm finding it difficult to achieve this in routes.php. I can do the likes of: Router::connect('/:filter/h/:id', array('controller'=>'homes','action'=>'view')); Router::connect('/admin/:controller/:action/:id'); But I'm finding that the id is no longer being passed simply and elegantly to the actions, now that controller and action do not directly follow the domain. Therefore, questions: Is it a stupid idea to play fast and loose with the /controller/action format in this way? Is there a better way of stating these routes so that things don't break egregiously? Would we be better off going back to subdomains (the initial method of achieving this type of functionality, shot down on potentially spurious SEO-related grounds)? Many thanks for any advice! I'm sorry that I'm such a newbie that I don't know whether I'm asking stupid questions or not....

  • T-SQL Conditonal Select Statement

    - by msarchet
    So this isn't really a normal conditional select statement. I'm helping a colleague out with some SQL and we have this issue. I current there is a coulumn ID and a column Number. Either ID is 0 or Number is 0. So my select statement needs to do Select colA, colB, colC, crazy part From Table A. the crazy part is this: (If ID > 0, ID, Number) basically select and return that column that isn't 0. Is there any way to do this in T-SQL?
