• How do I layout an image that will be dynamically sized in interface builder?

  I am having trouble laying out scrollable view in interface builder. A screen shot of my layout is here. As you can see the layout is pretty simple. The UIImageView above the text will not have a specific height. It may be 100px high or 300px high. This is why the view is scrollable. I am experiencing two problems with this layout: 1) For some reason the image will sit behind the text instead of pushing it down. Take a look here. 2) The obvious other problem is that the upper most UIImage and UILabel are getting pushed up off of the screen. I am thinking this has to do with the UIScrollView but I haven't been able to figure out why. Thanks!

  I have the following form on an .NET MVC View: <form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/Video/UploadDocument"> <input type="file" id="document1" name="document1"/> <input type="submit" value="Save"/> </form> And the controller has the following signature that gets called: public ActionResult UploadDocument(HttpPostedFileBase file) { return View(); } When I break inside the UploadDocument method, the parameter 'file' is null. I've selected a valid document on my desktop and know it contains text. What am I missing to get this file upload working?

  Hi, I've just started a new project in ASP.net 4.0 with MVC 2. What I need to be able to do is have a custom hook at the start and end of each action of the controller. e.g. public void Index() { *** call to the start custom hook to externalfile.cs (is empty so does nothing) ViewData["welcomeMessage"] = "Hello World"; *** call to the end custom hook to externalfile.cs (changes "Hello World!" to "Hi World") return View(); } The View then see welcomeMessage as "Hi World" after being changed in the custom hook. The custom hook would need to be in an external file and not change the "core" compiled code. This causes a problem as with my limited knowledge ASP.net MVC has to be compiled. And the situation is I am loading the ListView properly.But while loading ListView I am disabling some button in the ListView by checking one parameter. • Wpf- Is there any way to disable some of the default hotkeys in a RichTextBox?

  I have several keybindings in my text editing application that no longer work now that I have switched from using a regular textbox to using a richtextbox. This is because the wpf richtextbox has several default hokeys such as "Ctrl+1", "Ctrl+2", and "Ctrl+5". My keybindings are defined in a view that contains the view that the richtextbox is in. I can't move the keybindings to the richtextbox; Is there any fix for this problem? Other than using a third-party control or creating my own richtextbox from textboxbase.

• Quick / Built-in method for detecting table change in SQL Server?

  Is there a quick and easy way of telling if a table has changed in SQL Server? (I'm using SQL Server 2005). Something like an incrementing ID somewhere that updates on each INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE that I can keep track of. I noticed there is a sys.objects.modify_date column for each table, but I don't think it's quite what I want because the docs say: Date the object was last modified by using an ALTER statement. If the object is a table or a view, modify_date also changes when a clustered index on the table or view is created or altered.

• Reset UITextField's original placeholder text

  I'm adding some user feedback mechanism into my app. The user types some comments into a text field and when that editing is done it updates a UITextView. Then when the user hits the submit button and moves on in the app the user may have need to send more feedback from the same form for a different item. I can reset the other fields and labels in the app to their default values when I hide the view, but not the textField (?). How can I reestablish the placeholder text next time the user accesses this view? Your suggestions are humbly appreciated.

• Summing the results of Case queries in SQL

  I think this is a relatively straightforward question but I have spent the afternoon looking for an answer and cannot yet find it. So... I have a view with a country column and a number column. I want to make any number less than 10 'other' and then sum the 'other's into one value. For example, AR 10 AT 7 AU 11 BB 2 BE 23 BY 1 CL 2 I used CASE as follows: select country = case when number < 10 then 'Other' else country end, number from ... This replaces the countries values with less than 10 in the number column to other but I can't work out how to sum them. • savedInstanceState cannot be resolved to a variable

  I'm currently working through "The Android Developers Cookbook" and one of the tutorials involves multiple activities in an app. To give a bit of background right now I have to .java files, a "menu screen" and a "game screen". The menu screen simply has a button that leads to the game screen which is currently empty except for a button that takes you back to the menu screen. • Drupal: Two-way communication between unregistered customer and admin

  I need to setup a system where customers can choose to Request a Quote for a specific holiday package, where they will enter their personal details as well as their holiday requirements (number of rooms, etc.) and will then allow them to view a page which will have a threaded conversation between them and the admin (so the admin can reply to their quote request on the website). The problem is that most customers won't be registered when they want to request a quote, so I was thinking that the Request a Quote page could silently register the customer as a user (using their personal details) on the same page where it asks for their holiday requirements. The other option I can think of would be to not register them and just email them a unique URL where they can view their quote request and reply to the admin. Could you point me in the right direction on how to do either of those?

In the service, I've got my DAO, and my entity, and I want to delete my entity, so I call DAO.delete(entity); Then, seemingly out of nowhere, I get an InvocationTargetException. • using araxis merge for folder comparison on git branches (OSX)

  I know how to setup araxis merge to be my git diff / merge tool, so if I do git difftool it automatically launches araxis merge. However if I do git difftool upstream/master (to see all the differences between current branch and upstream/master), it launches the app one by one for every single file that is different. Is there a way of setting it up so I can get a folder comparison type view, and then go down and view each file diff as I choose? i.e. similar to this http://www.araxis.com/merge_mac/overview2.html The only way I've found to do this is to clone my repo into a new folder, switch to the branch there, and then do a normal araxis merge folder comparison.

• ASP.NET 1.0 site error after upgrade to VS.NET 2010

  Help. I installed VS.NET 2010 and now my existing ASP.NET MVC application won't run. I checked that the 1.0 version of System.Web.Mvc is still referenced but when I browse my application, I get an error like this: "Compiler Error Message: CS1579: foreach statement cannot operate on variables of type 'object' because 'object' does not contain a public definition for 'GetEnumerator'". My partial view has this declaration: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<List<ProductModel" %> //various import statements <div <% foreach (var category in Model.Categories) { % <span<%= category.Name %</span <span<%= category.Market%</span <% } % </div For what it's worth, the source view shows ViewUserControl in red and gives a tool tip reading "Cannot resolve symbol 'ViewUserControl'". My working code didn't change, the only delta is that I upgraded to VS.NET 2010 (which includes MVC 2.0); I'm sure something is not referenced correctly but I cannot figure out what's going on.

• Webwork actions, the lifecycle of variables declared in the action class.

  Hi all, I'm using the webwork framework (JIRA plugin development) and was wondering about the lifecycle of the variables in the action class. I have a few private variables in the action class that are set when during the doDefault() method. These are used in the input view to set up jqGrid columns and then when the user has entered some data they click submit which puts the grid data into a hidden input. The next thing that happens is the doValidation() method is called before the doExecute(), which displays the input view if there are any errors. The problem is that the variables set up in the doDefault() method are now null. Can anyone explain to me how the lifecycle of variables works in the webwork actions? Cheers

• Using views as a data interface between modules in a database

  Hello, I am working on the database layout of a straighforward small database in Mysql. We want to modularize this system in order to have more flexiblity for different implementations we are going to make. Now, the idea was to have one module in the database (simple a group of tables with constraints between them) pass its data to the next module via views. In this way, changes in one module would not affect the other ones, as we can make sure in the view that the right data is present there at any time, although the underlying structure of tables might be different. The structure of the App handling the database would likewise be modularized. Is this something that is sometimes done? On a technical side, as I understand views can't have primary keys - how would I then adress such a view? What other issues should be considered?

• Tomcat not showing Spring Context initialization errors when running from Eclipse WTP

  Hi all, Im working with Eclipse Galileo (WTP), Spring 2.5.6-SEC01 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.28. When I run my application from Eclipse, I'm able to see Tomcat standard output and error from the console view. When there is a Spring initialization error (ex: malformed spring XML) I'm not able to see the error message or the stacktrace at the Console view. Anyone found before a problem like this? how you solve it? Thanks in advance, I'm getting mad :-) Edited: I'm seeing all Tomcat startup messages and my System.out.println and System.err.println messages in Eclipse Console. I also try to pass this two system properties to my Tomcat Server: -Djava.util.logging.manager="org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager" -Djava.util.logging.config.file="C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.28\conf\logging.properties"

• How to handle multiple delegates

  I've got a view in my app that does pretty much everything, and I like it that way. The problem however is that it's implementing 5 or 6 different delegates, which seems a little bit messy. My question is, does the view controller have to implement all of the delegates? or is there some way I can separate the code out into different files (without having to do a major restructure or rewrite)?   I'm serving ads using OpenX within Rails. To correctly use the OpenX full page invocation you need to set Oa_zones[] array, otherwise all available ads are requested (but will never be used). These are the necessary pieces: Build an array of zones. Ideally zones could be added in any partial, so working with this array needs to be accessible throughout the view. Output full page invocation link ie. delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&block=1 Output zones The problem is, the full page invocation script can't be loaded until the zone array is built (and instantiated in JavaScript). At the same time, the zone array can't be built until the entire view has been rendered.
