  I'm pretty new to both Grails/Groovy/Web services and i'm consuming a .net web service .. • How do I make this scroll layout work?

  I am currently trying to get my UI to have a Title Bar, a bottom Button bar, with a ScrollView in between. I can get bits and pieces of it to work, but once I get a different piece working, the old part goes back to not showing up. Here is a picture of my UI on the left, with what I want it to look like on the right...(sorry for the sloppiness, I edited it in MS Paint :P ) To sum it up, I want the Version and Type fields to be moved with room for the other TextViews in the XML file, and I want both buttons to appear on the bottom bar. • Spring / Hibernate / JUnit - No Hibernate Session bound to Thread

  Hi I'm trying to access the current hibernate session in a test case, and getting the following error: org.hibernate.HibernateException: No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SpringSessionContext.currentSession(SpringSessionContext.java:63) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl.getCurrentSession(SessionFactoryImpl.java:574) I've clearly missed some sort of setup, but not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first crack at Hibernate / Spring etc, and the learning curve is certainly steep!   Hi All, I am stuck in a big problem with encoding in my website! I use spring 3, tomcat 6, and mysql db. I want to support German and Czech along with English in my website, I created all the JSPs as UTF-8 files, and in each jsp I include the following: <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> I created messages.properties (the default which is Czech), messages_de.properties, and messages_en.properties. And all of them are saved as UTF-8 files. So, here's the list of problems I have: By default the messages.properties (Czech) should load, instead the messages_en.properties loads by default. In the web form, when I enter Czech data, then click submit, in the Controller I print out the data in the console before to save it to db, what's being printed is not correct having strange chars, and this is the exact data that saves to db. I don't know where's the mistake! Why can't I get it working although I did what people did and worked for them! don't know.. Please help me, I am stuck in this crappy problem since days, and it drives me crazy! Thank you in advance.

  I have written a feature(Site scoped) that adds custom menu items to the New Menu and EditControlBlock of document library. These menu items should show up only when the user has add and edit permissions for that document library. If he selected the menu, url is redirected to my webpart. Webpart is deployed in site collection. To do this i have two way. I mentioned in as case 1 & case 2. • news feed using .Net Dataservices / OData / Atom ?

  Let's say I have an web CMS type application, and an EDM model with an entity called 'article', and I need to offer the ability for client applications, to a read/query the articles (and other resources stored in our database) a straightforward syndication feed of these articles to end users (along the lines of a simple RSS feed) It seems to me that for the first task, and .net 4's dataservice would be perfect for the job. For the second case, I'm wondering (a) whether atom the right format to choose - I think it is - and (b) whether it's possible to achieve such a feed using the same ado.net OData service. (as a result, when you check this feed in a feed reader, you will see no title). I searched msdn but haven't found a way to do that, but it should be possible. Stackoverflow itself uses an atom feed in that fashion, so it should be possible. Right? So I suppose my question is; Is there a way to make the ado.net dataservice Atom feed look like something suitable for your average news feed reader? - OR, am I using the wrong tool for the wrong purposes, and should I be looking elsewhere (.net syndication API's perhaps)?

  This will probably just be a simple problem and I am just blind or an idiot but I could use some help. So I am going over some basic guides in Rails, reviewing the basics and such for an upcoming exam. One of the guides included was the sort-of-standard getting started guide over at guide.rubyonrails.org. Here is the link if you need it. Also all my code is for my app is from there, so I have no problem releasing any of my code since it should be the same as shown there. I didn't do a copy paste, but I basically was typing with Vim in one half of my screen and the web page in the other half, typing what I see. http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html So like I said, I am going along the guide when I noticed past a certain point in the tutorial, I was always getting an error on the site. To find the section of code, just hit Ctrl+f on the page (or whatever you have search/find set to) and enter "accepts_". In the article it states that you need to annotate a Spring bean with @Transactional and methods/fields with @PersistenceContext in order to provide transaction support and to inject an entity manager. Is there something the defines a bean as a "Spring Bean"? Then I annotated the methods as well, but em is still null (no injection?). I was wondering if this had something to do with my bean not being recognized as "Spring".   First some background. I have a batch-type java process run from a DOS batch script. All the java logging goes to stdout, and the batch script redirects the stdout to a file. (This is good for me because I can ECHO from the script and it gets into the log file, so I can see all the java JVM command line args, which is great for debugging.) I may not I use slf4j API, and for the backend I used to use log4j, but recently switched to logback-classic. Although all my application code uses slf4j, I have a third party library that does it's own logging (not using a standard API) which also gets written to stdout. The problem is that sometimes log lines get mixed up and don't cleanly appear on separate lines. So logback must be doing something different. The problem seems to be that although PrintStream.write(byte buf[], int off, int len) is synchronized, however I can see in ch.qos.logback.core.joran.spi.ConsoleTarget that System.out.write(int b) is the only write method called. So inbetween logback outputting each byte, the thirdparty library is managing to write a whole string to the stdout. (Not only is this cause me a problem, but it must also be a little inefficient?) Is there any other fix to this interleaving problem than patching the code to ConsoleTarget so it implments the other write methods? Any nice work arounds. Or should I just file a bug report? So when my coworker tests from her computer with another code, giving access to another place in the tree, she get's the same tree as me. (The tree is supposed to show your own level and down.) I have added a html-comment to show what orgid it passes to the function, and the orgid passed is correct. So either the treeview caches something serverside, or the sqlquery caches it's result somehow... Any ideas? Stepping through it in debug it's correct all the way, with the stepper standing on "tvNavtree.DataBind();" I can hover the pointer over the tvNavtree.Datasource and see that it actually has the correct data. So something must be faulting in the binding process...

• What's the best way to refactor this Rails controller?

  I'd like some advice on how to best refactor this controller. The controller builds a page of zones and modules. Page has_many zones, zone has_many modules. So zones are just a cluster of modules wrapped in a container. The problem I'm having is that some modules may have some specific queries that I don't want executed on every page, so I've had to add conditions. The conditions just test if the module is on the page, if it is the query is executed. One of the problems with this is if I add a hundred special module queries, the controller has to iterate through each one. I think I would like to see these module condition moved out of the controller as well as all the additional custom actions. • Sharepoint RSS feed description fields as elements

  Hello, This is my first time working with RSS but I am fluent with XML/XSL. I have a RSS feed that I am pulling from a list in Sharepoint. The sample XML is below. The RSS description element parses the various columns (Body, Expires, Attachments) that are in the Sharepoint list automatically. I know that from the list I can control which fields are included in the description, but this is not what I am looking to do. Is there any way to force the fields to come through in an XML element format instead of the CDATA that converted to HTML? For example, I may want to check a priority field and if it is important when applying the XSL I would bold red it or something. I am getting these in my log: [INFO] Oct 24, 2013 1:54:18 AM com.google.appengine.tools.development.LocalResourceFileServlet doGet [INFO] WARNING: No file found for: /soundmails/test I tried /soundmails/soundmails/test as well. That is also giving the same error. I am using Spring 3.1.0.RELEASE Can someone help me figure out what I am missing - /soundmails/test is giving 404 error. Edit I am unable to enable DEBUG logs for this. For some reason, it is not taking log level configured in logging.properties But I observed something interesting: 1) If I map the request to empty string (value = "") @RequestMapping(value="", method=RequestMethod.GET) public @ResponseBody String test() { System.out.println("Hai"); return "Hai"; } Then, when I try to access 127.0.0.1/soundmails, it works fine (returns string "Hai"). 2) When I have value="/test" @RequestMapping(value="/test", method=RequestMethod.GET) public @ResponseBody String test() { System.out.println("Hai"); return "Hai"; } and I try to access 127.0.0.1/soundmails/test, it is giving HTTP 404. This is weird.
