  (If you can make a better title, please do) Hi, I need to make sure a string matches the following regex: ^[0-9a-zA-Z]{1}[0-9a-zA-Z\.\-_]*$ (Starts with a letter or number, then any number of letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores) But given that, I need to make sure it doesn't match a Guid, my Guid matching reg-ex looks like this (obviously, this needs to be negated in the merged result): ^([0-9a-fA-F]){8}-([0-9a-fA-F]){4}-([0-9a-fA-F]){4}-([0-9a-fA-F]){4}-([0-9a-fA-F]){12}$ The last requirement here is that they must (if it's possible) be merged into a single expression.

  I need a regex pattern which matches such strings that DO NOT end with such a sequence: \.[A-z0-9]{2,} by which I mean the examined string must not have at its end a sequence of a dot and then two or more alphanumeric characters. For example, a string /home/patryk/www and also /home/patryk/www/ should match desired pattern and /home/patryk/images/DSC002.jpg should not. I suppose this has something to do with lookarounds (look aheads) but still I have no idea how to make it. Any help appreciated.

  I have a website and I have installed URL Rewrite using Web Platform Installer. I wish to allow a user friendly URL like www.foo.com/123456 to go to www.foo.com/page.aspx?blah=123456. Using the User-friendly URL template accomplishes this except that the created rule also matches all of the /scriptresource.axd?blahblah created by ASP.NET which of course breaks most functionality. My initial attempts to exclude the script resource files have failed. The regex generated by the tool is ^([^/]+)/?$

• Voice Recognition Connection problem

  I,m trying to work through and test a Voice Recognition example based on the VoiceRecognition.java example at http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html but when click on the button to create the activity, I get a dialog that says Connection problem. My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this. Code below UPDATE: Ok, I was able to replace my emulator image with one from HTC that appears to come with Google Voice Search, however now when I run from the emulator, i'm getting an Audio Problem message with Speak Again or Cancel buttons. It appears to make it back to the onActivityResult(), but the resultCode is 0. • Search Display Controller Crashes When Returning Results

  I have a tableview with a search display controller. It has been working fine in the past, but recently has started crashing for certain search results. Here my code searches a Golfer based on their Name, Age and Handicap. The data is correctly loaded into the table, I can access and drill down to receive further information. However when I type in a search query for either Name or Age, the app crashes, while the Golfers Handicap is returned fine. But, even if in the buffer there are 3 links and the regexp is compiled with the PCRE_CASELESS and PCRE_MULTILINE flags, i match only one element : Match : example_link_1 Note: I start the loop fro index 1 because the pcre library returns the string that matched (not the match itself) as the first element, and the matches follows. What's wrong with this code? The regexp itself i think it's correct (tried in PHP for instance).

I've got this [^\b41\b] which is effectively what I want but this also ignores all single iterations of the values 1 and 4. As an example, this matches "41", but I want it to NOT match: \b41\b

• Server unable to find public folder in rails 3 production environment

  Hi, I'm using the latest rails 3 beta. The app works fine in development mode, but when I start the server in production mode via rails server -e production, it seems that the public folder can't be found. I get error messages like: ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/javascripts/jquery.js"): And similar messages for everything that should be in the public folder. I've tried this with both mongrel and webrick. I'd appreciate any help.
