• Django 1.4.1 error loading MySQLdb module when attempting 'python manage.py shell'

• Serial Communication between Java RXTX and Arduino

  I'm trying to communicate between my PC (Windows 7 using Netbeans and RXTX) with an Arduino Pro, using the serial port. The Arduino is actually connected to the PC using an FTDI cable. The code is based on the Java SimpleRead.Java found here. Currently the Arduino simply prints out a string when it starts up. My Java program should print the number of bytes that have been read and then print out the contents. The Java program works, sort of... If the string is long (10 bytes or so) the output will get broken up. So if on the Arduino I print Serial.println("123456789123456789"); //20 bytes including '\r' and '\n' The output of my Java program may look something like: Number of Bytes: 15 1234567891234 Number of Bytes: 5 56789 or Number of Bytes: 12 1234567891 Number of Bytes: 8 23456789 I'm thinking it's a timing problem, because when I manually go through the code using the debugger, the result string is always what it should be: one 20 byte string. I've been messing with various things but I haven't been able to fix the problem. • Visual Studio 2008 project organization for executable and assembly

  Hi - I am having a problem setting up the following in Visual Studio 2008: a parent project which includes the entrypoint Main() method class and which declares an interface, and a child project which has classes that implement the interface declared in the parent project. I have specified that Parent's Output type is a Console application, and Child's Output type is a Class library. In Child I have add a reference to the Parent as a project, and specified that Child depends on Parent and that the build order should be Parent, then Child. The build succeeds, and as far I can tell, the right things show up in the Child/bin/debug directory: Parent.exe and Child.dll. However, if I run Parent.exe, then at the point when it should load a class from the Child.dll, it fails with the error message: exception executing operation System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'Child.some.class' from assembly 'Parent, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. I guess I'm confused as to how to get the Parent and Child projects to play together. I plan on having more child projects that use the same framework that is set up in the Parent, and so I do not want to move the entrypoint class down into the Child project. If I try to specify that the Child project is also a Console application, then the build process fails because there is no Main() entrypoint class in the child (even though the Parent project is included as a reference). Now I need to produce some custom wrapper code if an input parameter of a stored proc is defaulted to NULL. The problem is - I get stored proc parameters using: SqlCommandBuilder.DeriveParameters(command) and it doesn't bring parameter defaults. Is there any way to look up those defaults? Are they stored anywhere in the database? BTW, I'm using SQL Server 2008

  I'm using xslt to transform xml to an aspx file. In the xslt, I have a script tag to include a jquery.js file. To get it to work with IE, the script tag must have an explicit closing tag.   I have created a winform for the users to view view the many reports I am creating for them. I have a drop down list with the report name which triggers the appropriate fields to display the parameters. Once those are filled, they press Submit and the report appears. This works the first time they hit the screen. They can change the parameters and the ReportViewer works fine. Change to a different report, and the I get the following ReportViewer error: An error occurred during local report processing. An error has occurred during the report processing. A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source "CgTempData_BusMaintenance". As far as the process I use: I set reportName (string) the physical RDLC name. I set the dataSource (string) as the DataSource Name I fill a generic DataTable with the data for the report to run from. Make the ReportViewer visible Set the LocalReport.ReportPath = "Reports\\" = reportName; Clear the LocalReport.DataSources.Clear() Add the new LocalReport.DataSources.Add(new ReportDataSource(dataSource, dt)); RefreshReport() on the ReportViewer. • Can I create a custom roleprovider through a WCF service?

  I have a web application that accesses a database through a wcf service. The idea is to abstract the data from the web application using the wcf service. All that works fine but I am also using the built in roleprovider using the SqlRoleManager which does access the aspnetdb database directly. I would like to abstract the roleprovider by creating a custom roleprovider in a wcf service and then accessing it through the wcf service. I have created the custom role provider and it works fine but now I need to place it in a wcf service. So before I jump headlong into trying to get this to work through the WCF service, I created a second class in the web application that accessed the roleprovider class and changed my web config roleprovider parameters to use that class. So my roleprovider class is called, "UcfCstRoleProvider" and my web.config looks like this: <roleManager enabled="true" defaultProvider="UcfCstRoleProvider"> <providers> <add name="UcfCstRoleProvider" type="Ucf.Security.Wcf.WebTests.UcfCstRoleProvider, Ucf.Security.Wcf.WebTests" connectionStringName="SqlRoleManagerConnection" applicationName="SMTP" /> </providers> </roleManager> My class starts like this: public class UcfCstRoleProvider : RoleProvider { private readonly WindowsTokenRoleProvider _roleProxy = new WindowsTokenRoleProvider(); public override string ApplicationName { get { return _roleProxy.ApplicationName; } set { _roleProxy.ApplicationName = value; } } As I said, this works fine. So the second class is called BlRoleProvider that has identical properties and parameters as the roleprovide but does not implement RoleProvider. I changed the web.config to point to this class like this: <roleManager enabled="true" defaultProvider="BlRoleProvider"> <providers> <add name="UcfCstRoleProvider" type="Ucf.Security.Wcf.WebTests.BlRoleProvider, Ucf.Security.Wcf.WebTests" connectionStringName="SqlRoleManagerConnection" applicationName="SMTP" /> </providers> </roleManager> But I get this error. "Provider must implement the class 'System.Web.Security.RoleProvider'." I hope I have explained well enough to show what I am trying to do. If I can get the roleprovider to work through another class in the same application, I am sure it will work through the WCF service but how do I get past this error? Or maybe I took a wrong turn and there is a better way to do what I want to do??

  When writing "library" type classes, is it better practice to always write markup documentation (i.e. javadoc) in java or assume that the code can be "self-documenting"? So, when writing a library, is it best to: a) always document b) document anything that isn't obvious c) never document (code should speak for itself!) I usually use b), myself (since the code can be self-documenting otherwise)...

  I need to transform a valid XML document to the OFX v1.0.2 format. This format is more or less XML, but it's technically invalid and therefore cannot be parsed as XML. I'm having trouble getting my Xml transformation working because the .Net XslCompiledTransform object insists on interpreting the XSL as an XML document (which is fair enough). If I escape the xml-ish tags using &lt; and &gt, they get removed when I download the file.   i wanna using curl in php script and run it in command line mode. here is the script <?php //enable_dl("php_curl.dll"); $ch = curl_init(); $options=array( CURLOPT_URL=>"http://test.com/wp-content/themes/bluefocus/images/desc_img.jpg", CURLOPT_BINARYTRANSFER=>true, CURLOPT_VERBOSE=>true ); curl_setopt_array($ch,$options); $data = curl_exec($ch); $fp=fopen("test.jpg","w"); fwrite($fp,$data); curl_close($ch); ?> i run it in cmd with command php -i test.php the error message: D:\project>php get.php Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in D:\project\gals_curl_batch_download\get.php on line 3 phpinfo() in the webpage output shows curl has been enabled cURL support enabled cURL Information libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8k zlib/1.2.3 and here is the strange thing phpinfo() int the webpage output show, infact extension enabled in php.ini can be run in web page. the exact directory of the extension is under ./ext extension_dir ./ext ./ext but php -i | find "extension_dir" always show this and can't be modified with in php.ini file extension_dir => C:\php5 => C:\php5 restarted apache serveral times, keeps the same error. so i wonder why the value of extension_dir can't be modified. thx in advance.

I'm still thinking outside of the box somewhat and trying to come up with a better mnemonic set than last time. When the previous interpreter was written, it was completed over two contiguous, rushed evenings. This rewrite deserves significantly more time now that it is the summer. Of course, the next version of Whitespace (0.4) may have its instructions revised even more, but this is just a redesign of what originally was done in a very short amount of time. Hopefully, the instructions make more sense once someone new to programmings thinks about them.

• Ruby / Rails - How to aggregate a Query Results in an Array?

  Hello, I have a large data set that I want to clean up for the user. The data set from the DB looks something like this: ID | project_id | thread_id | action_type |description 1 | 10 | 30 | comment | yada yada yada yada yada 1 | 10 | 30 | comment | xxx 1 | 10 | 30 | comment | yada 313133 1 | 10 | 33 | comment | fdsdfsdfsdfsdfs 1 | 10 | 33 | comment | yada yada yada yada yada 1 | 10 | | attachment | fddgaasddsadasdsadsa 1 | 10 | | attachment | xcvcvxcvxcvxxcvcvxxcv Right now, when I output the above in my view its in the very same order as above, problem is it is very repetitive. For example, for project_id 10 & thread_id 30 you see: 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada 10 - 30 - xxxxx 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada What I would like to learn how to do in ruby, is some how create an array and aggreate descriptions under a project_id and thread_id, so instead the output is: 10 - 30 - yada yada yada yada yada - xxxxx - yada yada yada yada yada Any advice on where to get started? This requirement is new for me so I would appreciate your thoughts on what you're thinking the best way to solve this is.Hopefully this can be done in ruby and not sql, as the activity feed is likely going to grow in event types and complexity.   I have 2 fields I'm working with that are stored as smallint military structured times.
