• Mocking objects with complex Lambda Expressions as parameters

- by iCe
Hi there, I´m encountering this problem trying to mock some objects that receive complex lambda expressions in my projects. Mostly with with proxy objects that receive this type of delegate: Func<Tobj, Fun<TParam1, TParam2, TResult>> I have tried to use Moq as well as RhinoMocks to acomplish mocking those types of objects, however both fail. (Moq fails with NotSupportedException, and in RhinoMocks simpy does not satisgy expectation). This is simplified example of what I´m trying to do: I have a Calculator object that does calculations: public class Calculator { public Calculator() { } public int Add(int x, int y) { var result = x + y; return result; } public int Substract(int x, int y) { var result = x - y; return result; } } I need to validate parameters on every method in the Calculator class, so to keep with the Single Responsability principle, I create a validator class. I wire everything up using a Proxy class, that prevents having duplicate code: public class CalculatorProxy : CalculatorExample.ICalculatorProxy { private ILimitsValidator _validator; public CalculatorProxy(Calculator _calc, ILimitsValidator _validator) { this.Calculator = _calc; this._validator = _validator; } public int Operation(Func<Calculator, Func<int, int, int>> operation, int x, int y) { _validator.ValidateArgs(x, y); var calcMethod = operation(this.Calculator); var result = calcMethod(x, y); _validator.ValidateResult(result); return result; } public Calculator Calculator { get; private set; } } Now, I´m testing a component that does use the CalculatorProxy, so I want to mock it, for example using Rhino Mocks: [TestMethod] public void ParserWorksWithCalcultaroProxy() { var calculatorProxyMock = MockRepository.GenerateMock<ICalculatorProxy>(); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x => x.Calculator).Return(_calculator); calculatorProxyMock.Expect(x => x.Operation(c => c.Add, 2, 2)).Return(4); var mathParser = new MathParser(calculatorProxyMock); mathParser.ProcessExpression("2 + 2"); calculatorProxyMock.VerifyAllExpectations(); } However I cannot get it to work! Any ideas about how this can be done? Thanks a lot!

• How build my own Application Setting

- by adisembiring
I want to build a ApplicationSetting for my application. The ApplicationSetting can be stored in a properties file or in a database table. The settings are stored in key-value pairs. E.g. ftp.host = blade ftp.username = dummy ftp.pass = pass content.row_pagination = 20 content.title = How to train your dragon. I have designed it as follows: Application settings reader: interface IApplicationSettingReader { read(); } DatabaseApplicationSettingReader { dao appSettingDao; AppSettings read() { List<AppSettingEntity> listEntity = appSettingsDao.findAll(); Map<String, String> map = new HaspMap<String, String>(); foreach (AppSettingEntity entity : listEntity) { map.put(entity.getConfigName(), entity.getConfigValue()); } return new AppSettings(map); } } DatabaseApplicationSettingReader { dao appSettingDao; AppSettings read() { //read from some properties file return new AppSettings(map); } } Application settings class: AppSettings { private static AppSettings instance; private Map map; Public AppSettings(Map map) { this.map = map; } public static AppSettings getInstance() { if (instance == null) { throw new RuntimeException("Object not configure yet"); } return instance; } public static configure(IApplicationSettingReader reader) { instance = reader.read(); } public String getFtpSetting(String param) { return map.get("ftp." + param); } public String getContentSetting(String param) { return map.get("content." + param); } } Test class: AppSettingsTest { IApplicationSettingReader reader; @Before public void setUp() throws Exception { reader = new DatabaseApplicationSettingReader(); } @Test public void getContentSetting_should_get_content_title() { AppSettings.configure(reader); Instance settings = AppSettings.getInstance(); String title = settings.getContentSetting("title"); assertNotNull(title); Sysout(title); } } My questions are: Can you give your opinion about my code, is there something wrong? I configure my application setting once, while the application start, I configure the application setting with appropriate reader (DbReader or PropertiesReader), I make it singleton. The problem is, when some user edit the database or file directly to database or file, I can't get the changed values. Now, I want to implement something like ApplicationSettingChangeListener. So if the data changes, I will refresh my application settings. Do you have any suggestions how this can be implemented?

• String.substring(index) has stoped my thread in debug mode.

- by Arkaha
Hello! I work with j2me polish 2.0.7, in eclipse 3.4.2, with wtk2.5.2_01. I create control which draws text: normal, bold, and italic. The code below is parsing raw text, and search for * and _ symbols, if found than add to draw vector the text and the drawer, and it's just stops after getting second time to the line 58: String test = new String(raw_text_buff.substring(iter)); it stops in raw_text_buff.substring(iter), ONLY in debug mode.. raw text is: bla bla bla *1000* bla bla Full code: private String raw_text = "bla bla bla *1000* bla bla"; Vector draw_items = null; private void prepareText() { char open_char = 0; int open_pos = 0; Object []param = null; StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(); String raw_text_buff = new String(raw_text); int iter = 0; boolean was_reset = false; while(true) { char c = raw_text_buff.charAt(iter); if(iter == raw_text_buff.length() || c == '*' || c == '_') { if(sb.length() > 0) { BmFont viewer = null; String str = sb.toString(); if(open_char == '*' && null != bm_strong) { viewer = bm_strong.getViewer(str); }else if(open_char == '_' && null != bm_italic) { viewer = bm_italic.getViewer(str); }else if(null != bm_normal) { viewer = bm_normal.getViewer(str); }else { } param = new Object[2]; param[0] = str; param[1] = viewer; if(null == draw_items) draw_items = new Vector(); draw_items.addElement(param); sb = new StringBuffer(); if(open_char == 0 && (c == '*' || c=='_')) open_char = c; else open_char = 0; String test = new String(raw_text_buff.substring(iter)); // stucks here. raw_text_buff = test; iter = 0; was_reset = true; }else { open_char = c; } if(iter == raw_text_buff.length()) break; }else { sb.append(c); } ++iter; } } What I'm doing wrong?

• How Can I Populate Default Form Data with a ManyToMany Field?

- by b14ck
Ok, I've been crawling google and Django documentation for over 2 hours now (as well as the IRC channel on freenode), and haven't been able to figure this one out. Basically, I have a model called Room, which is displayed below: class Room(models.Model): """ A `Partyline` room. Rooms on the `Partyline`s are like mini-chatrooms. Each room has a variable amount of `Caller`s, and usually a moderator of some sort. Each `Partyline` has many rooms, and it is common for `Caller`s to join multiple rooms over the duration of their call. """ LIVE = 0 PRIVATE = 1 ONE_ON_ONE = 2 UNCENSORED = 3 BULLETIN_BOARD = 4 CHILL = 5 PHONE_BOOTH = 6 TYPE_CHOICES = ( ('LR', 'Live Room'), ('PR', 'Private Room'), ('UR', 'Uncensored Room'), ) type = models.CharField('Room Type', max_length=2, choices=TYPE_CHOICES) number = models.IntegerField('Room Number') partyline = models.ForeignKey(Partyline) owner = models.ForeignKey(User, blank=True, null=True) bans = models.ManyToManyField(Caller, blank=True, null=True) def __unicode__(self): return "%s - %s %d" % (self.partyline.name, self.type, self.number) I've also got a forms.py which has the following ModelForm to represent my Room model: from django.forms import ModelForm from partyline_portal.rooms.models import Room class RoomForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Room I'm creating a view which allows administrators to edit a given Room object. Here's my view (so far): def edit_room(request, id=None): """ Edit various attributes of a specific `Room`. Room owners do not have access to this page. They cannot edit the attributes of the `Room`(s) that they control. """ room = get_object_or_404(Room, id=id) if not room.is_owner(request.user): return HttpResponseForbidden('Forbidden.') if is_user_type(request.user, ['admin']): form_type = RoomForm elif is_user_type(request.user, ['lm']): form_type = LineManagerEditRoomForm elif is_user_type(request.user, ['lo']): form_type = LineOwnerEditRoomForm if request.method == 'POST': form = form_type(request.POST, instance=room) if form.is_valid(): if 'owner' in form.cleaned_data: room.owner = form.cleaned_data['owner'] room.save() else: defaults = {'type': room.type, 'number': room.number, 'partyline': room.partyline.id} if room.owner: defaults['owner'] = room.owner.id if room.bans: defaults['bans'] = room.bans.all() ### this does not work properly! form = form_type(defaults, instance=room) variables = RequestContext(request, {'form': form, 'room': room}) return render_to_response('portal/rooms/edit.html', variables) Now, this view works fine when I view the page. It shows all of the form attributes, and all of the default values are filled in (when users do a GET)... EXCEPT for the default values for the ManyToMany field 'bans'. Basically, if an admins clicks on a Room object to edit, the page they go to will show all of the Rooms default values except for the 'bans'. No matter what I do, I can't find a way to get Django to display the currently 'banned users' for the Room object. Here is the line of code that needs to be changed (from the view): defaults = {'type': room.type, 'number': room.number, 'partyline': room.partyline.id} if room.owner: defaults['owner'] = room.owner.id if room.bans: defaults['bans'] = room.bans.all() ### this does not work properly! There must be some other syntax I have to use to specify the default value for the 'bans' field. I've really been pulling my hair out on this one, and would definitely appreciate some help. Thanks!

• How can I bind a instance of a custom class to a WPF TreeListView without bugs?

- by user327104
First, from : http://blogs.msdn.com/atc_avalon_team/archive/2006/03/01/541206.aspx I get a nice TreeListView. I left the original classes (TreeListView, TreeListItemView, and LevelToIndentConverter) intact, the only code y have Added is on the XAML, here is it: .... </ControlTemplate.Triggers> <ControlTemplate.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type local:FileInfo}" ItemsSource="{Binding Childs}"> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </ControlTemplate.Resources> </ControlTemplate> ... here is my custom class public class FileInfo { private List<FileInfo> childs; public FileInfo() { childs = new List<FileInfo>(); } public bool IsExpanded { get; set; } public bool IsSelected { get; set; } public List<FileInfo> Childs { get { return childs; } set { } } public string FileName { get; set; } public string Size { get; set; } } And before I use my custom class I remove all the items inside the treeListView1: <l:TreeListView> <l:TreeListView.Columns> <GridViewColumn Header="Name" CellTemplate="{StaticResource CellTemplate_Name}" /> <GridViewColumn Header="IsAbstract" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding IsAbstract}" Width="60" /> <GridViewColumn Header="Namespace" DisplayMemberBinding="{Binding Namespace}" /> </l:TreeListView.Columns> </l:TreeListView> So finaly I add this code to bind a Instance of my class to the TreeListView: private void Window_Loaded(object sender,RoutedEventArgs e) { FileInfo root = new FileInfo() { FileName = "mis hojos", Size="asdf" }; root.Childs.Add(new FileInfo(){FileName="sub", Size="123456" }); treeListView1.Items.Add(root); root.Childs[0].Childs.Add(new FileInfo() { FileName = "asdf" }); root.Childs[0].IsExpanded = true; } So the bug is that the button to expand the elementes dont appear and when a node is expanded by doble click the child nodes dont look like child nodes. • operator+ overload returning object causing memory leaks, C++

- by lampshade
The problem i think is with returing an object when i overload the + operator. I tried returning a reference to the object, but doing so does not fix the memory leak. I can comment out the two statements: dObj = dObj + dObj2; and cObj = cObj + cObj2; to free the program of memory leaks. Somehow, the problem is with returning an object after overloading the + operator. #include <iostream> #include <vld.h> using namespace std; class Animal { public : Animal() {}; virtual void eat() = 0 {}; virtual void walk() = 0 {}; }; class Dog : public Animal { public : Dog(const char * name, const char * gender, int age); Dog() : name(NULL), gender(NULL), age(0) {}; virtual ~Dog(); Dog operator+(const Dog &dObj); private : char * name; char * gender; int age; }; class MyClass { public : MyClass() : action(NULL) {}; void setInstance(Animal &newInstance); void doSomething(); private : Animal * action; }; Dog::Dog(const char * name, const char * gender, int age) : // allocating here, for data passed in ctor name(new char[strlen(name)+1]), gender(new char[strlen(gender)+1]), age(age) { if (name) { size_t length = strlen(name) +1; strcpy_s(this->name, length, name); } else name = NULL; if (gender) { size_t length = strlen(gender) +1; strcpy_s(this->gender, length, gender); } else gender = NULL; if (age) { this->age = age; } } Dog::~Dog() { delete name; delete gender; age = 0; } Dog Dog::operator+(const Dog &dObj) { Dog d; d.age = age + dObj.age; return d; } void MyClass::setInstance(Animal &newInstance) { action = &newInstance; } void MyClass::doSomething() { action->walk(); action->eat(); } int main() { MyClass mObj; Dog dObj("Scruffy", "Male", 4); // passing data into ctor Dog dObj2("Scooby", "Male", 6); mObj.setInstance(dObj); // set the instance specific to the object. mObj.doSomething(); // something happens based on which object is passed in dObj = dObj + dObj2; // invoke the operator+ return 0; }

• How do I destruct data associated with an object after the object no longer exists?

- by Phineas
I'm creating a class (say, C) that associates data (say, D) with an object (say, O). When O is destructed, O will notify C that it soon will no longer exist :( ... Later, when C feels it is the right time, C will let go of what belonged to O, namely D. If D can be any type of object, what's the best way for C to be able to execute "delete D;"? And what if D is an array of objects? My solution is to have D derive from a base class that C has knowledge of. When the time comes, C calls delete on a pointer to the base class. I've also considered storing void pointers and calling delete, but I found out that's undefined behavior and doesn't call D's destructor. I considered that templates could be a novel solution, but I couldn't work that idea out. Here's what I have so far for C, minus some details: // This class is C in the above description. There may be many instances of C. class Context { public: // D will inherit from this class class Data { public: virtual ~Data() {} }; Context(); ~Context(); // Associates an owner (O) with its data (D) void add(const void* owner, Data* data); // O calls this when he knows its the end (O's destructor). // All instances of C are now aware that O is gone and its time to get rid // of all associated instances of D. static void purge (const void* owner); // This is called periodically in the application. It checks whether // O has called purge, and calls "delete D;" void refresh(); // Side note: sometimes O needs access to D Data *get (const void *owner); private: // Used for mapping owners (O) to data (D) std::map _data; }; // Here's an example of O class Mesh { public: ~Mesh() { Context::purge(this); } void init(Context& c) const { Data* data = new Data; // GL initialization here c.add(this, new Data); } void render(Context& c) const { Data* data = c.get(this); } private: // And here's an example of D struct Data : public Context::Data { ~Data() { glDeleteBuffers(1, &vbo); glDeleteTextures(1, &texture); } GLint vbo; GLint texture; }; }; P.S. If you're familiar with computer graphics and VR, I'm creating a class that separates an object's per-context data (e.g. OpenGL VBO IDs) from its per-application data (e.g. an array of vertices) and frees the per-context data at the appropriate time (when the matching rendering context is current).

• SaveFileDialog problem (C#) (VS2008)

- by typoknig
Hi all, I am having an issue with SaveFileDialog for some reason. All I want to do is extract data from a text box line by line and write it to a text file, then save that text file to the desktop. The first bit of code works fine (though it doesn't save to the desktop). The second bit of code is what I want to use, but when it creates the text file the text file is empty. What did I do wrong in my second bit of code? This code works, but it does not save to the desktop and it isn't as nice as the second code. //When the Save button is clicked the contents of the text box will be written to a text file. private void saveButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int textBoxLines = textBox.Lines.Count(); if (File.Exists(saveFile)) { result = MessageBox.Show("The file " + saveFile + " already exists.\r\nDo you want to replace it?", "File Already Exists!", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo); if (result == DialogResult.Yes) { TextWriter tw1 = new StreamWriter(saveFile); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw1.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } tw1.Close(); } if (result == DialogResult.No) { MessageBox.Show("Please move or rename existing " + saveFile + "\r\nBefore attempting to save again.", "Message"); } } else { TextWriter tw2 = new StreamWriter(saveFile); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw2.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } tw2.Close(); } } This code does not work, but it is what I want to use. //When the Save button is clicked the contents of the text box will be written to a text file. private void saveButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int textBoxLines = textBox.Lines.Count(); Stream saveStream; SaveFileDialog saveDialog = new SaveFileDialog(); saveDialog.Filter = "txt files (*.txt)|*.txt|All files (*.*)|*.*"; saveDialog.FilterIndex = 2; saveDialog.RestoreDirectory = true; saveDialog.FileName = (saveFile); saveDialog.InitialDirectory = (Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop)); if (saveDialog.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { if ((saveStream = saveDialog.OpenFile()) != null) { StreamWriter tw = new StreamWriter(saveStream); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } saveStream.Close(); } } }

Any suggestions on how to get it to display the image? import java.awt.*; import java.applet.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.awt.image.*; public class MoveIt extends Applet implements ActionListener { // set variables and componets private Image cup; Panel keypad = new Panel(); public int top = 15; public int left = 15; private Button keysArray[]; public void init() { cup = getImage(getDocumentBase(), "cup.gif"); Canvas myCanvas = new Canvas(); keysArray = new Button[5]; setLayout(new BorderLayout(5,5)); setBackground(Color.blue); // set up keypad layout keypad.setLayout(new BorderLayout(0,0)); keysArray[0] = new Button("Up"); keysArray[1] = new Button("Left"); keysArray[2] = new Button("Center"); keysArray[3] = new Button("Right"); keysArray[4] = new Button("Down"); // add buttons to the keypad panel keypad.add(keysArray[0], BorderLayout.NORTH); keysArray[0].addActionListener(this); keypad.add(keysArray[1], BorderLayout.EAST); keysArray[1].addActionListener(this); keypad.add(keysArray[2], BorderLayout.CENTER); keysArray[2].addActionListener(this); keypad.add(keysArray[3], BorderLayout.WEST); keysArray[3].addActionListener(this); keypad.add(keysArray[4], BorderLayout.SOUTH); keysArray[4].addActionListener(this); // add canvas and keypad to the BorderLayout add(myCanvas, BorderLayout.NORTH); add(keypad, BorderLayout.SOUTH); } public void paint(Graphics g) { g.drawImage( cup, left, top, this ); } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { // test for menu item clicks String arg = e.getActionCommand(); if (arg == "Up") top -=15; else if (arg == "Down") top +=15; else if (arg == "Left") left -=15; else if (arg == "Right") left +=15; else { top = 60; left =125; } repaint(); } }

• C# problem with two threads and hardware access

- by mack369
I'm creating an application which communicates with the device via FT2232H USB/RS232 converter. For communication I'm using FTD2XX_NET.dll library from FTDI website. I'm using two threads: first thread continuously reads data from the device the second thread is the main thread of the Windows Form Application I've got a problem when I'm trying to write any data to the device while the receiver's thread is running. The main thread simply hangs up on ftdiDevice.Write function. I tried to synchronize both threads so that only one thread can use Read/Write function at the same time, but it didn't help. Below code responsible for the communication. Note that following functions are methods of FtdiPort class. Receiver's thread private void receiverLoop() { if (this.DataReceivedHandler == null) { throw new BackendException("dataReceived delegate is not set"); } FTDI.FT_STATUS ftStatus = FTDI.FT_STATUS.FT_OK; byte[] readBytes = new byte[this.ReadBufferSize]; while (true) { lock (FtdiPort.threadLocker) { UInt32 numBytesRead = 0; ftStatus = ftdiDevice.Read(readBytes, this.ReadBufferSize, ref numBytesRead); if (ftStatus == FTDI.FT_STATUS.FT_OK) { this.DataReceivedHandler(readBytes, numBytesRead); } else { Trace.WriteLine(String.Format("Couldn't read data from ftdi: status {0}", ftStatus)); Thread.Sleep(10); } } Thread.Sleep(this.RXThreadDelay); } } Write function called from main thread public void Write(byte[] data, int length) { if (this.IsOpened) { uint i = 0; lock (FtdiPort.threadLocker) { this.ftdiDevice.Write(data, length, ref i); } Thread.Sleep(1); if (i != (int)length) { throw new BackendException("Couldnt send all data"); } } else { throw new BackendException("Port is closed"); } } Object used to synchronize two threads static Object threadLocker = new Object(); Method that starts the receiver's thread private void startReceiver() { if (this.DataReceivedHandler == null) { return; } if (this.IsOpened == false) { throw new BackendException("Trying to start listening for raw data while disconnected"); } this.receiverThread = new Thread(this.receiverLoop); //this.receiverThread.Name = "protocolListener"; this.receiverThread.IsBackground = true; this.receiverThread.Start(); } The ftdiDevice.Write function doesn't hang up if I comment following line: ftStatus = ftdiDevice.Read(readBytes, this.ReadBufferSize, ref numBytesRead);

• chaining array of tasks with continuation

- by Andrei Cristof
I have a Task structure that is a little bit complex(for me at least). The structure is: (where T = Task) T1, T2, T3... Tn. There's an array (a list of files), and the T's represent tasks created for each file. Each T has always two subtasks that it must complete or fail: Tn.1, Tn.2 - download and install. For each download (Tn.1) there are always two subtasks to try, download from two paths(Tn.1.1, Tn.1.2). Execution would be: First, download file: Tn1.1. If Tn.1.1 fails, then Tn.1.2 executes. If either from download tasks returns OK - execute Tn.2. If Tn.2 executed or failed - go to next Tn. I figured the first thing to do, was to write all this structure with jagged arrays: private void CreateTasks() { //main array Task<int>[][][] mainTask = new Task<int>[_queuedApps.Count][][]; for (int i = 0; i < mainTask.Length; i++) { Task<int>[][] arr = GenerateOperationTasks(); mainTask[i] = arr; } } private Task<int>[][] GenerateOperationTasks() { //two download tasks Task<int>[] downloadTasks = new Task<int>[2]; downloadTasks[0] = new Task<int>(() => { return 0; }); downloadTasks[1] = new Task<int>(() => { return 0; }); //one installation task Task<int>[] installTask = new Task<int>[1] { new Task<int>(() => { return 0; }) }; //operations Task is jagged - keeps tasks above Task<int>[][] operationTasks = new Task<int>[2][]; operationTasks[0] = downloadTasks; operationTasks[1] = installTask; return operationTasks; } So now I got my mainTask array of tasks, containing nicely ordered tasks just as described above. However after reading the docs on ContinuationTasks, I realise this does not help me since I must call e.g. Task.ContinueWith(Task2). I'm stumped about doing this on my mainTask array. I can't write mainTask[0].ContinueWith(mainTask[1]) because I dont know the size of the array. If I could somehow reference the next task in the array (but without knowing its index), but cant figure out how. Any ideas? Thank you very much for your help. Regards,

• LsaAddAccountRights not working for me

- by SteveL
Using: Delphi 2010 and the JEDI Windows API and JWSCL I am trying to assign the Logon As A Service privilege to a user using LsaAddAccountRights function but it does not work ie. after the function returns, checking in Group Policy Editor shows that the user still does not have the above mentioned privilege. I'm running the application on Windows XP. Would be glad if someone could point out what is wrong in my code: unit Unit1; interface uses Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Variants, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms, Dialogs, StdCtrls, JwaWindows, JwsclSid; type TForm1 = class(TForm) Button1: TButton; procedure Button1Click(Sender: TObject); private { Private declarations } public { Public declarations } end; var Form1: TForm1; implementation {$R *.dfm} function AddPrivilegeToAccount(AAccountName, APrivilege: String): DWORD; var lStatus: TNTStatus; lObjectAttributes: TLsaObjectAttributes; lPolicyHandle: TLsaHandle; lPrivilege: TLsaUnicodeString; lSid: PSID; lSidLen: DWORD; lTmpDomain: String; lTmpDomainLen: DWORD; lTmpSidNameUse: TSidNameUse; lPrivilegeWStr: String; begin ZeroMemory(@lObjectAttributes, SizeOf(lObjectAttributes)); lStatus := LsaOpenPolicy(nil, lObjectAttributes, POLICY_LOOKUP_NAMES, lPolicyHandle); if lStatus <> STATUS_SUCCESS then begin Result := LsaNtStatusToWinError(lStatus); Exit; end; try lTmpDomainLen := DNLEN; // In 'clear code' this should be get by LookupAccountName SetLength(lTmpDomain, lTmpDomainLen); lSidLen := SECURITY_MAX_SID_SIZE; GetMem(lSid, lSidLen); try if LookupAccountName(nil, PChar(AAccountName), lSid, lSidLen, PChar(lTmpDomain), lTmpDomainLen, lTmpSidNameUse) then begin lPrivilegeWStr := APrivilege; lPrivilege.Buffer := PChar(lPrivilegeWStr); lPrivilege.Length := Length(lPrivilegeWStr) * SizeOf(Char); lPrivilege.MaximumLength := lPrivilege.Length; lStatus := LsaAddAccountRights(lPolicyHandle, lSid, @lPrivilege, 1); Result := LsaNtStatusToWinError(lStatus); end else Result := GetLastError; finally FreeMem(lSid); end; finally LsaClose(lPolicyHandle); end; end; procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); begin AddPrivilegeToAccount('Sam', 'SeServiceLogonRight'); end; end. Thanks in advance.

• References between Spring beans when using a NameSpaceHandler

- by teabot
I'm trying to use a Spring context namespace to build some existing configuration objects in an application. I have defined a context and pretty much have if working satisfactorily - however, I'd like one bean defined by my namespace to implicitly reference another: Consider the class named 'Node': public Class Node { private String aField; private Node nextNode; public Node(String aField, Node nextNode) { ... } Now in my Spring context I have something like so: <myns:container> <myns:node aField="nodeOne"/> <myns:node aField="nodeTwo"/> </myns:container> Now I'd like nodeOne.getNode() == nodeTwo to be true. So that nodeOne.getNode() and nodeTwo refer to the same bean instance. These are pretty much the relevant parts I have in my AbstractBeanDefinitionParser: public AbstractBeanDefinition parseInternal(Element element, ParserContext parserContext) { ... BeanDefinitionBuilder containerFactory = BeanDefinitionBuilder.rootBeanDefinition(ContainerFactoryBean.class); List<BeanDefinition> containerNodes = Lists.newArrayList(); String previousNodeBeanName; // iterate backwards over the 'node' elements for (int i = nodeElements.size() - 1; i >= 0; --i) { BeanDefinitionBuilder node = BeanDefinitionBuilder.rootBeanDefinition(Node.class); node.setScope(BeanDefinition.SCOPE_SINGLETON); String nodeField = nodeElements.getAttribute("aField"); node.addConstructorArgValue(nodeField); if (previousNodeBeanName != null) { node.addConstructorArgValue(new RuntimeBeanReference(previousNodeBeanName)); } else { node.addConstructorArgValue(null); } BeanDefinition nodeDefinition = node.getBeanDefinition(); previousNodeBeanName = "inner-node-" + nodeField; parserContext.getRegistry().registerBeanDefinition(previousNodeBeanName, nodeDefinition); containerNodes.add(node); } containerFactory.addPropertyValue("nodes", containerNodes); } When the application context is created my Node instances are created and recognized as singletons. Furthermore, the nextNode property is populated with a Node instance with the previous nodes configuration - however, it isn't the same instance. If I output a log message in Node's constructor I see two instances created for each node bean definition. I can think of a few workarounds myself but I'm keen to use the existing model. So can anyone tell me how I can pass these runtime bean references so that I get the correct singleton behaviour for my Node instances?

• Can you help me optimize this code for finding factors of a number? I'm brushing up on my math progr

- by Sergio Tapia
I've never really bothered with math programming, but today I've decided to give it a shot. Here's my code and it's working as intended: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Data; using System.Windows.Documents; using System.Windows.Input; using System.Windows.Media; using System.Windows.Media.Imaging; using System.Windows.Navigation; using System.Windows.Shapes; namespace PrimeFactorization { ///
/// Interaction logic for MainWindow.xaml ///
public partial class MainWindow : Window { public MainWindow() { InitializeComponent(); } private void btnSubmit_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { List<int> primeFactors = FindPrimeFactors(Convert.ToInt32(txtNumber.Text)); primeFactors.Sort(); for (int i = 0; i < primeFactors.Count; i++) { listBoxFoundNumbers.Items.Add(primeFactors[i]); } } private List<int> FindPrimeFactors(int number) { List<int> factors = new List<int>(); factors.Add(1); factors.Add(number); for (int i = 2; i < number; i++) { if (number % i == 0) { int holder = number / i; //If the number is in the list, don't add it again. if (!factors.Contains(i)) { factors.Add(i); } //If the number is in the list, don't add it again. if (!factors.Contains(holder)) { factors.Add(holder); } } } return factors; } } } The only problem I can see with my code is that it will iterate through to the bitter end, even though there will definitely not be any factors. For example, imagine I wrote in 35. My loop will go up to 35 and check 24,25,26,27...etc. Not very good. What do you recommend?
