• Split MPEG video from command line?

  I have a homemade DVD that I'm effectively trying to insert chapters into and rearrange - the original author burned it as one long chapter, and I'd like to rip it into smaller pieces and re-encode it into a new DVD. I ripped the DVD with the following command: mplayer dvd:// -dvd-device /dev/sr2 -dumpstream -dumpfile raw.vob I'm running Gentoo Linux with mplayer version 1.0-rc2_p20090731 (the latest available in Portage). I have a list of times that the chapters are supposed to span (for example 30:11-33:25), so my first thought was to rip the entire DVD and use mpgtx to cut out certain pieces of the file. My issue is that running mpgtx -i on the file reports quite a few timestamp jumps: Time stamps jumped from 59.753789 to 0.001622 at position 1d29800 Time stamps jumped from 204963823030450.343750 to 31.165900 at position 2d4f800 Time stamps jumped from 60.077878 to 0.001622 at position 43cc000 Time stamps jumped from 60.024233 to 0.001622 at position 65c5000 Time stamps jumped from 204963823068631.718750 to 52.549244 at position 7fd1000 I've tried to fix the indexes using: mencoder raw.vob -oac copy -ovc copy -forceidx -o fixed.vob -of mpeg But mpgtx will still report timestamp issues. My immediate question: is there a way to take the ripped movie I have and correct its timestamps so I can cut it with mpgtx? If I can get that one issue out of the way, building the rest of the DVD will be smooth sailing. If it's not possible to fix the timestamps on this file: is there a better way to rip small chunks of the DVD into separate files for recompilation later? I'd very much like this to be done on Linux, and it'd be even better if I could script it somehow (feed in a list of start and end positions, or start times and durations, and get out a series of ripped files). If need be, I also have a Mac OS X machine available, but no Windows. Edit: I wound up finding another solution involving HandBrake and ffmpeg (with help from this question), but the question stands. Edit again: Turns out my other solution didn't quite work - the audio desynchronized by about five seconds, in about half of my cut mpgs - so I'm back to square one. Anyone?

• Keyboard issue when using kitty+puttycyg but not when using putty or cygwin alone

  I would like to use a unique way to use console on my windows setup. Previously I used putty for remote access to linux servers and cygwin to have unix-like tools on windows. Then I discovered kitty which is a patched putty and have added the puttycyg patch. It provides the same way to connect to remote and local console. However, there is a strange behavior using vim when connected to the local console (using the puttycyg patch) : keys display A/B/C/D and replace the current character by these letter. In insert mode it does replace the caracter, in normal mode, no modification is made to the document even if the caracter is displayed as replaced. For instance, when I type : fixed bug with product deleted I get : fixed bbug wiwith prprodudueleteted I have read a lot of questions about this type of issue 3, 4 and googled it but there is no answer that work for me. The issue is present only for the setup kitty+puttycyg patch : cygwin alone works perfectly (and putty alone works also for access to linux servers). Any help would be appreciated !

• Copy/paste filtered column in Excel - error message

  Firstly I should state that I don't believe in spreadsheets; my normal mode of operation is that data should either exist in a database or a text file... However - employment requires... In short, I have filtered a worksheet by column A, and I want to copy/paste from column B to column C. Obviously I don't wish to copy/paste values from rows that were filtered-out here. The above sounds ridiculously simple, right? First I tried simply copy/pasting on the filtered worksheet. This appeared to select and copy only the filtered data, however pasting appeared to insert values into hidden/filtered rows - as you might expect. So my initial research suggests I may wish to select the filtered data and press Alt+; (that is, ALT plus semicolon), which is a shortcut key for Goto Special Select Visible. Then just copy-paste. CTRL+C correctly copies the filtered data, however when I go to paste the values into another column, it pastes into hidden rows as well. Okay, so perhaps I should also "Select Visible" on the cells I wish to paste into as well? Nope - that gives me the error That command cannot be used on multiple selections. What am I doing wrong?!

  I reinstall windows. Then I regret that and want to go back. Fortunately the old windows is stored at windows.old I follow the instruction in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971760 I did it all with small catches When I insert the windows 7 installer, the drive for installer is X and my hard disk is D rather than C. However, on normal windows operation the drive is C. Only when I boot through CD the partition is assigned to the letter D. There is no file bootsect on my windows installer So I can't do **D:\boot\bootsect /nt60 c:** Which should be changed to X:\boot\bootsect /nt60 C: or X:\boot\bootsect /nt60 D: depending on what it really does. As I said if I boot through windows dvd my hard disk letter is D but normally it's C. I am not even sure what that bootsect does anyway. I also can't do this one Attrib –h –s –r boot.ini.saved Copy boot.ini.saved boot.ini There is no file boot.ini or boot.ini.saved It's hidden but I don't see it if I try to look unhidden files either. Because I simply switch from windows 7 to windows 7 and the directory for windows don't change c:\windows I thought it should still work. Well, it doesn't. When windows restart it only goes to the logo and then restart the computer.

• DVD drive won't work after installing software

  DVD drive was already region-free but for some reason would not play a certain DVD as it was the "wrong region". This is the first time I've played a DVD on the drive, but I've imported a lot of CDs before and they always worked fine, even CDs bought from the USA (I live in the UK). To get around this, I downloaded a piece of software called "DVD Region Killer". (Clicking the link won't start the download, so go ahead and check it.) After this, the drive isn't recognised. It won't show up in "My Computer", and when I insert a disc it will start to whir but not take action, i.e. iTunes won't recognise that I have put a CD in. In the Device Manager, the drive shows up with a caution-sign. The device status reads: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Disabling, uninstalling and reinstalling does not help. Clearly the software download is the issue, but it is difficult to remove. The only files I can find in Program Files are: C:\Program Files (x86)\Elaborate Bytes\DVD Region Killer which contains a changelog and a HTML document which has no info on uninstalling. It doesn't show up on "Add or Remove Programs", or even as a background process when I press ctrl-alt-del. Apparently it has no interface as such, and can be accessed by an icon in the system tray, (see review in link) but I don't see the icon. If it helps to know, I have a Dell Inspiron running Windows 8 64-bit, and the model of the DVD drive is: MATSHITA DVD+-RW UJ8C2 Thanks in advance.

• Enabling mod_wsgi in Apache for a Django app on Gentoo

  I installed Apache, Django, and mod_wsgi on Gentoo using emerge (on Amazon EC2). I know that the mod_wsgi is configured in /etc/apache2/modules.d/70_mod_wsgi.conf: <IfDefine WSGI> LoadModule wsgi_module modules/mod_wsgi.so </IfDefine> # vim: ts=4 filetype=apache So in my /etc/conf.d/apache I added the WSGI module: APACHE2_OPTS="-D DEFAULT_VHOST -D INFO -D SSL -D SSL_DEFAULT_VHOST -D LANGUAGE -D WSGI" But when I try to list the loaded module, mod_wsgi isn't listed. root ~ # apache2 -M | grep wsgi Syntax OK I also know that mod_wsgi isn't loading properly because the Apache configuration file doesn't recognize WSGIScriptAlias. By the way for Django to work I need to include a custom Apache configuration file. Where should I insert the line below? Include "/var/www/localhost/htdocs/mysite/apache/apache_django_wsgi.conf" I currently have that in the httpd.conf file but I feel like that file will get reseted whenever I upgrade Gentoo or related package. EDIT: it seems the mod_wsgi file is located in /usr/lib64/apache2/modules/mod_wsgi.so. • Outlook 2007 message formatting - pasted images

  When you cut and past an image into a message window when composing a new email, the image will display as you would expect and formatting the image appears straight forward, However the pain happens when you click send. The recipient notices that the image will resize with the size of there outlook window. The original image size is ignored and no scrollbars appear. Howe do you stop this behaviour. When said image is pasted, say you want to place a graphic on top of the image such as an arrow. By using the ribbon, selecting the insert tab and choosing shapes, you go ahead and select the arrow shape and plonk it on to of the image, just where you want it, give it a nice colour and then send the email. As the recipient resizes there outlook message window, the image resizes but the shape remains where it was, now who wants that micros*a*ft! So, how do you A) make the shape resize with the image, so the shape stays where I put it in relation to the image, and b) stop the image resizing in the first place.

• Solid State Drive Occasionally Freezes For A Minute While OS Is "Beach Balling"

  Almost a month ago I bought Intel 330 128GB solid state drive, migrated my data with Intel branded limited-feature Acronis from old HDD to new SSD, optimized with Intel Toolbox and started using it. Occassionally I get close to 1 minute freezes while seeing operating system "beach balls" and animations still work, I can interact and click on something but nothing responds, nothing loads. Recently a couple of such freezes occurred in shorter amount of time in a row. I have noticed that if I stop interacting with laptop, the freeze lasts less time than if I was interacting with laptop. But the bigger problem is when freeze just does not end and computer keeps being stuck unlil it is more than half hour and I run out of patience to keep waiting and feeling I need to restart the system because I am not getting anywhere. Such freeze happened while laptop was cold booting into Windows 7. This is when freeze hang occurred and I had to restart, only later to be greeted with Windows recovery screen stating something about faiure of boot sector and asking to insert Windows repair CD. But after I restarted, Windows booted successfully and all was well. I have filmed video of freeze hang occurring in cold boot which you can see here (on video page look below for description): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b7MQlcDTUs As I have mentioned in the beginning, the SSD is less than a month old but here is S.M.A.R.T statistics just in case (TRIM is enabled btw according to CrystalDiskInfo): I want to emphasize that this SSD is the only drive I have, yet it is working in RAID mode (it was enabled initially in BIOS by previous laptop's owner) on Intel Rapid Storage drivers. I am contemplating about switching to AHCI mode but want to be sure this won't cause data loss. Additionally, the stock firmware is the only firmware available currently, yet Intel does not respond to my posts in their community board. If anyone here has this SSD model or generally has experience with SSD drives, I would love to know your thoughts.

• Migrate Windows Server 2008 to a new hard disk

  Hi, I have a machine with Windows Server 2008. I want to change the hard disk drive, but keep everything else. I don't have a cd/dvd drive and don't want to buy it. My first idea was to make a byte-to-byte copy of the disk with Paragon Advanced Recovery. The problem is that when I try to boot from a new hard disk, it says that there were hardware changes and that Windows must be repaired, inviting me to insert the installation disk and follow repair instructions. I searched and found that 1:1 copy is not a correct way to do things. The correct one is to restore Windows to a new hard disk from a full system backup. But to restore, I need to have a dvd drive. I tried to make a copy of the Windows Server 2008 .iso on an USB flash drive, but the drive is not bootable (while the same procedure applied to Paragon Advanced Recovery ISO produces a bootable recovery USB flash drive). Now what else can I do (except buying a dvd drive)? Is there a way either to make Windows work without doing recovery or recover Windows 2008 without using a cd drive?

• New SSD, is the MBR broken? DISK BOOT FAILURE

  I've been running Windows 7 on a WD 500gb SATA single drive, single partition setup for some time with no issues. I've just installed a new Kingston V Series 64gb SSD and performed a clean install of Win7 to it, deleting the partitions on the 500gb and using that as a data drive. All was well for a few reboots but then I started to get "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" messages. If I put the Win7 install DVD back in the drive it boots fine. Tried a clean install again, after replacing SATA cables and swapping SATA ports, with a complete partition wipe of both drives. Again, rebooted fine a few times then back with the "DISK BOOT FAILURE" error. Looked on the web and found some discussions about it so I then started from scratch again. This time I wiped the MBR on both drives using MBRWork, disconnected the 500gb and reinstalled to the SSD. Removed the install DVD and installed all the drivers which involved many reboots, all with no problem. To make sure I also did a few cold boots as well. Reconnected the 500gb, initialised, partitioned and formatted it. Copied data to it and did some more reboots and shutdowns. All was ok. Then out of the blue comes another "DISK BOOT FAILURE" and again, if the Win7 install DVD is in the drive it boots fine. So, is the SSD a bad'un? TIA UPDATE: It was a BIOS issue! I found a hidden away option for HDD boot order, which was separate from the usual HDD/CDRom/FDD boot order option. The WD was set to boot before the SSD... Swapped them round and all is well. Reinstalled Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 using install CD. Outlook worked buit keep getting error message pop up each time I open Outlook. Hit ok. Error Message #2: The path 'Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'STDP11N.MSI' in a folder from which you can install the product Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003." Hit ok. Back to error message #1 Hit close window Error message #3: Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM Error message #4 I'd created a file under D: drive on an external drive. "The path specified for the file D:...etc.. .pst is not valid. Hit ok. Brings up window to look in My Documents.

• How to properly remove disk from PERC 6/i RAID controller ?

  I have a Dell T710, coming with PERC 6/i RAID controller. The current raid has 2x500 GB hard drives (with the OS), and 6x1000 GB hard drives (in RAID-6, currently empty). I would like to take one 1000 GB disk physically out to keep as an immediate spare in case of a crash, and configure the remaining 5x1000 GB in a single VD RAID-6. This is all nice and clean and works, until I realized that the display on the machine reports the lack of the 8th disk as an error. It's marked as error, but appears to be a warning, since the machine is fully functional. My question is: what is the best way to keep one disk as a spare out of the array? should I disassemble the disk from the cradle and insert the empty cradle in the array ? Or should I just silence the error in the display in some way (how?). I know that what I am doing sounds pretty strange, but here is academia and having a spare disk available could take weeks. Better to have one ready in my drawer for any emergency.

• BIOS not detecting working SATA hard drive.

  Some time ago my power supply died. It's a long story from then till now, but the important bit is that I ended up with a new hard drive and a new power supply. I tested to see if my original hard drive was still alive, and it booted and worked perfectly until I turned it off. When I started it again it would not boot. I bought new SATA cables, assuming that the one I had was not seating properly (it was cheap and wobbly), but no dice. Upon start-up I am presented with a message telling me to insert boot media into the selected drive or add a drive and restart. Neither the new or the old drive is detected by BIOS, my Vista install disk, or from my bootable Linux USB drive. When I remove all of the RAM the computer ceases outputting visual information, and upon reinstalling the ram and starting up again gives me a "failed overclock" error. So, does anyone have an idea as to what might be going on? I'm completely lost at this point.

• Running phpmyadmin xampp Ubuntu 12.10

  I know it is a common problem and there are many solutions on the web but I'm trying everything and anything is working, I can't have phpmyadmin running on my machine. I installed XAMPP through: sudo tar xvfz ./Downloads/xampp-linux-1.8.1.tar.gz -C /opt then I did the chmod trick supposed to make an end to access issues and I change the default location to my php projects from /var/www to Dropbox/php. Then I started XAMPP in the usual way: sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start When I tried to run one of my php projects the output on the web is fine but if for example I try to write localhost on my browser I get: It works and not the usual XAMPP interface and most of all when I try to access localhost/phpmyadmin I get the login page, insert username (root) and password and I get: You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/index.php on this server. Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80 I tried the Required all granted trick and some others but nothing is working. I even tried to uninstall phpmyadmin and reinstall it but this is not working too. I don't know hot to proceed. Thanks for your help.

• Can't access WordPress blog after host changed IP address of server

  My host changed servers and all websites now have a new IP address. I have the same domain name and I assume the host runs the same nameservers, though my host and domain name provider are different. Notes: I never entered a Name or description under General/Settings for my blog. I left them both blank. That is when I could log into it. The wp-config file, has localhost entered rather than a specific IP. Again this has always been the case and my host never advised otherwise. I can get into cPanel by simply putting the newly advised IP in front of /Cpanel. However, I can not reach the admin panel of my WordPress blog (version 2.8.2). I had been loggin into it via http://xx.xx.xxx.xx/~example/blog/wp-login.php. My host suggested to simply insert the new IP in place of the old one. I still get the error message: 404 Not Found The server can not find the requested page: Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.12 Server at 74.50.108.14 Port 80 I followed some tips on a question on Stack Overflow of a similar nature. I have logged into phpMyAdmin and found the wp-options table and searched for SELECT * FROM `wp_options` WHERE `option_name` IN ('siteurl', 'home') Only option ID 39 came up and the results are: Home has optionvalue http://example.org siteurl has optionvalue http://example.org/blog Both of which appear correct.   I have an Ubuntu 10.04 server that already has apache and wsgi working. I also have a python script that works just fine using the make_server command: if __name__ == '__main__': from wsgiref.simple_server import make_server srv = make_server('', 8080, display_status) srv.serve_forever() Now I would like to have the page always active without having to run the script manually. I looked at what Moin is doing. I found these lines in apache2.conf: WSGIScriptAlias /wiki /usr/local/share/moin/moin.wsgi WSGIDaemonProcess moin user=www-data group=www-data processes=5 threads=10 maximum-requests=1000 umask=0007 WSGIProcessGroup moin And moin.wsgi is as listed: import sys, os sys.path.insert(0, '/usr/local/share/moin') from MoinMoin.web.serving import make_application application = make_application(shared=True) QUESTION: Can I create a similar section in apache2.conf pointing to another wsgi file? Like this: WSGIScriptAlias /status /mypath/status.wsgi WSGIDaemonProcess status user=www-data group=www-data processes=5 threads=10 maximum-requests=1000 umask=0007 WSGIProcessGroup status And if so, what is required to convert my simple_server script into a daemonized process? Most of the information I find about wsgi is related to using it with frameworks like Django. I haven't found a simple howto detailing how to make this work. Thanks.

• HP Laserjet 1320 drivers for Windows 7

  Background I replaced som XP computers with Win 7 computers. We have a HP Laserjet 1320dn printer attached to the LAN. The XP computers could print to it from Word in duplex mode without any issues. Problem The Win 7 computers downloaded a full set of drivers including a "HP Laserjet 1320 PCL5" driver. However using this, Word's page footers cause extra pages to be printed with just a letter or so at a time from the footer. Some other apps have similar issues. I also have an ancient Laserjet 1200 attached to the LAN via a Jetdirect box and that works just fine. So I don't think the problem is with Word (the computers came with Word 2010 starter). What I tried I wrangled the control-panel new printer dialogue into using a "HP Laserjet 2100 PS" driver for the HP Laserjet 1320dn. Now my Word documents print as they should. However I don't have a duplex option on the print dialogue. I'd really like to be able to use duplex printing. Question Windows used to have a Universal Postscript driver that read a Postscript Printer Definition (PPD) file to make the printer's features available (tray choice, duplex etc). I can't see any way to do this in Windows 7. Is there a way? Is there any other way I can get Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit to print properly to a HP Laserjet 1320dn and have access to all it's major features? Addendum: My page in Word looks like this: +--------------------+ | aa bb cc | | | | lorem ipsum dolor | | | ... | | | pp qq rr | +--------------------+ The headers and footers were inserted using Insert - header - blank (3 column). When printed I get 1 page with aa, bb, cc, pp in correct position (no other text) 1 blank page 1 page with qq in correct position (no other text) 1 blank page 1 page with rr in correct position (no other text) 1 blank page 1 page with lorem ipsum dolor in correct position (no headers or footers) If I use a Laserjet 2100 driver I get 1 correct page.

Use source: Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003" 1st got this message after CD was inserted to recover partial file STDP11N. Recovered STDP11N, however, still receiving pop up window with error message each time outlook opens. Had accidentally cleaned up old programs and suddenly this was missing. Reinstalled Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 using install CD. Outlook worked buit keep getting error message pop up each time I open Outlook. Hit ok. Error Message #2: The path 'Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'STDP11N.MSI' in a folder from which you can install the product Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003." Hit ok. Back to error message #1 Hit close window Error message #3: Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM Error message #4 I'd created a file under D: drive on an external drive. "The path specified for the file D:...etc.. .pst is not valid. Hit ok. Brings up window to look in My Documents.

• How to include worksheet 3 and 4 in a cell formula provided?

The formula works like this: Check if there is content in 1st. If yes, copy it. If no, find out how many entries there are in 1st in total. (This is done by using the COUNTA function on the whole B column in 1st and subtracting the number of non-empty cells above the actual case data.) Use this information together with the current cells's number to find out the location of the cell that has to be copied from 2nd. Create the address of the cell and use the ISBLANK function on the INDIRECT function with that address to check if the cell is empty. If it is not, use the INDIRECT function again to display it. If it is empty, just display an empty string. Now this works fine when I have only 2 sheets. But lets say I want to include a third and fourth sheet (name as 3rd and 4th respectively), then what and should I put the formula for this in the formula above? There are actually 31 sheets but if I know how to add 3rd and 4th sheet in the formula, then I can figure out how to do the rest. Thanks

• Automated Linux VMs on Hyper-V 2012

  I have a requirement to create a ton of linux VMs for our customers (we run managed infrastructure) on Hyper-V 2012 in the coming months and I have an issue with automating it. Here is how I need it to work: User accesses their web page and creates a VM. VM is created with a unique IP and name User logs in over SSH I know Hyper-V quite well and can work with powershell and am a C# programmer so the development side of things is taken care of. I also know enough about Linux to be at least competent: I have used it on and off for a number of years but not done anything Enterprise-level with it. All this can be done easily by manual processes but I need to be able to script or program this to automate it as there could be hundreds of them being created but I don't know how. My first thought is to have a database with random-generated names and IPs already created but I don't know how to get a Linux VM to boot up and grab one from the database... I suppose a Kickstart script would take care of it but I don't know what to do from there. Here is what is bouncing around in my head: Create a std linux build. - Easy to do Someone clicks "Create VM" and I pull a name and IP from the database and write it to a kickstart script. - Easy to do I could then open the template VHDX file and copy in the script and then save it. - Not sure if possible User boots up new VM and the kickstart script gives it the name and IP I assigned it. My problem is that I don't know how to open a VHDX file and insert a kickstart script into it... can't figure it out. I am reaching here and this solution may be miles off... I am more used to creating Windows VMs with scripts and so on which i am more familiar with... any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mick

• Find whether TV supports S Video

  Hello Freinds I have a TV (some unknown model) which has 3 sockets to insert 3 wires red, yellow and white. A DVD Player can be connected to the TV using sockets and the TV displays that the TV is in AV mode when DVD is running. Now i have a Desktop which has a S Video Port and i have a wire to connect the S Video port from my computer to those red, yellow and white sockets using appropriate pins. Now i have searched all over the remote and it does not switches to S Video Mode, it has only 2 modes of operation i.e. 1 Cable Connection (Third Party DTH Receiver receives channels and i pay subscription) and 2 AV Mode. It does not have S Video Mode or any other mode. Now my question is whether i can connect the S Video cable from my desktop to the above described TV or i should look for a new TV if i wish to connect the S Video from Computer to TV or there is any sort of converter that can help? I did tried connecting the S Video cable from Desktop to TV, but it did'nt worked. TV kept on displaying Blue Screen of AV Mode. Regards

• Windows 7 ignores F6/F8 and will not boot

  I have a work PC with sophos safeguard encryption on it. Windows failed to start. When I bootup I receive an error saying a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. File: \Boot\BCD Status: 0xc0000098 Info: The windows boot configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry. This began after the PC forced me to run a system recovery. My machine had powered down improperly (power outage?) and simply would not respond to my keyboard input to cancel the option to scan my system. After the scan "repaired" a boot file, my system crashed. Now it tells me I can insert my windows 7 disk and run recovery. I can't simply do this because of Safeguard. The system recovery can't see my encrypted drive. I tried hitting F2 to manually login to Safeguard and then selected the option to boot from media. The computer prompts me to hit any key to boot from disk...which I do, but once again it is not reading my keyboard input. I can't get F8/F6 to bypass startup files and get me to a command prompt like the old days. If I could get to a command prompt I might could recover the file windows jacked up from its backup location...though I may need to use the windows recovery disk UI to do this..??? In the past I've been able to slap in a PS/2 keyboard when the USB keyboards stop responding like this. I have no PS/2 keyboard available. Anyone have any idea how I can undo the damage windows system recovery has done with safeguard installed?
