    I will have publications (news papers), under these publications there will be editions [location and language] and under these there will be offers and offers will have products. currently i have created all as modules i.e. publication to add / edit /delete publication, edition to add / edit/ update editions and so on. the problem is how can i get list of all publication when I am creating a edition and same way how can i get list of edition and publication when i am creating a offer. please help/ regards, saurabh

  • How does SO's form remember previous input values?

    I've noticed that the Title or Body part is remembered if I come back to the Ask Question page by pressing Back button of my browser. This feature is available in all browsers I tested, but doesn't exist for the forms in my own projects. How can I approach that effect? UPDATE I still don't have any clue yet,but guess it that some kind of client cache enabled by http headers or javascript?

  • Methods in Customized View did not get invoke in AppDelegate, Why?

    I want the methods pauseGame in customized UIView - MyGameView get invoked when the phone is locked or interrupted. So I have a pauseGame method but it can't stop the timer when user lock screen (command+L). The lock screen did appear but the game still running at the background. So I added the testPause method to MyGameView and MyGameAppDelegate and and put a breakpoint to debug it. When screen locked it, the screen lock appeared and the code did stop at the breakpoint. But when I tried to step into the testPause method, it didn't take me to the method in MyGameView (it just passed it, not skipped) and no message was printed on terminal by NSLog. Why?     I need to get the pageYOffset of the bottom of the viewable area, whether the user is zoomed in on the webpage or not, on Mobile Safari ( iPhone ). However pageYOffset returns the offset from the upper left corner of the window. Spec: "pageYOffset properties returns the pixels the current document has been scrolled from the upper left corner of the window" How do you get the page y offset from the bottom of the viewable area, (zoomed in or not) on the iPhone via Javascript?

  • How long is a CS degree good for?

    I came upon a comment on another forum today and one user responding to another suggested that a CS degree is really only good for one through two years at the most, and after that its as if you never had it. Is this really true? is this what employers think? When I did CS I never learned anything new, we learned fundamentals like data structures, algorithms, time complexity, OS fundamentals, language characteristics. Most of this stuff has been around for the past 20 years or so.

    I making web games in java and having troubles each time when getting to the GUI design, usually I'm looking at others codes and copy most of the design, and I can't decide which design should I use. I used Applet, Canvas, JFrame. What i need is the main loop and draw function that changing between different games. So what class should I use and what design, which is better, why, maybe links to useful tutorials and examples... Please explain. Thanks.

    I have a web page that when I run it on a remote computer I get the message saying that remote errors cannot be viewed When I go to view it on my web server machine, I get a message saying: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage • Most likely causes: • You are not connected to the Internet. • The website is encountering problems. • There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected. Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. I can get to google fine, so it is not the internet connection.... But this message gives me nothing to work on. How can I get more info as to why my page is not working? I tried going to IIS Mananger and right clicking on the site and selecting browse. But my site is an HTTPS site so that does not work. Any ideas would be great.

  • OOP + MVC advice on Member Controller

    Hi, I am trying to follow good practices as much as possible while I'm learning using OOP in an MVC structure, so i'm turning to you guys for a bit of advice on something which is bothering me a little here. I am writing a site where I will have a number of different forms for members to fill in (mainly data about themselves), so i've decided to set up a Member controller where all of the forms relating to the member are represented as individual methods. This includes login/logout methods, as well as editing profile data etc. In addition to these methods, i also have a method to generate the member's control panel widget, which is a constant on every page on the site while the member is logged in. The only thing is, all of the other methods in this controller all have the same dependencies and form templates, so it would be great to generate all this in the constructor, but as the control_panel method does not have the same dependencies etc, I cannot use the constructor for this purpose, and instead I have to redeclare the dependencies and same template snippets in each method. This obviously isn't ideal and doesn't follow DRY principle, but I'm wondering what I should do with the control_panel method, as it is related to the member and that's why I put it in that controller in the first place. Am I just over-complicating things here and does it make sense to just move the control_panel method into a simple helper class?   • Hiding What Site You're On (Branding Issues)

    Here's the scenario: I have a private site that, once logged on, will display different information depending on the attributes of your account: the pages are branded differently based upon what company you are associated with. The problem is the companies linking to this site want everything to be displayed as their own brand, and do not want to see my brand anywhere, especially in the URL (i.e. from www.theirbrand.com they do not want to have links to www.mybrand.com). Is there an elegant solution to this? Is the best option to add a page on www.theirbrand.com that contains an iframe with a source of www.mybrand.com (I'm not sure if that would interfere with back/forward navigation, etc), or is there a better way?

  • Refetching a previously visited page

    All, I am having a field day with page refetching. Any help or pointer will be greatly appreciated!! The behavior is a bit specific to mobile browser. Problem: I have two pages and created a shortcut link to pg#1 in the home page. Through a form submit button, user is taken from pg#1 to pg#2. All that is working fine. Now once I am on pg#2. I will leave the browser and click the shortcut later. The browser will stay on pg#2 and won't go to pg#1 even though the path in URLS is different between the two views. It is almost like Django decides that since I have already visited view#1, it doesn't need to fetch it again. This problem or behavior doesn't happen if I move the same code that handle the two views and the templates to a bare bone test project. Setup: I am using django-registration, context session. I am not using any HTML caching tag. I already have DEBUG turned on in my settings.py. Are there other ways that I can tell what the server is doing.   • How can I be a Guru? Is it possible? [closed]

    Before 1999, I heard about computer. But, I don't know what it look like. TV? Maybe! Before 2001, I only saw it in book. It looks like a TV. Before 2005, I touched it in reality. It still looks like a TV + Black Box. In 2005, I entered university. I had a cource about Mathematica.I loved programming since then. In 2006, I owned a computer. I was coding C every day. if...else..., for..., while..., switch... entered my life. Since 2007, I have learned Data Structures, Algorithms...Then, C#, Java, Python, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, F#... A lot of languages. I'm still learning new lang. Unfortunately, I only know syntax! I'm always a novice(??)! I know some guru start programming at age of 8 or 12. I admire these gurus who are compiler writers, language designers, architecture designers, Linux hackers... Is it possible to become a guru like me. If possible, how? what should I do now?     I've never built a game before, and I've not programmed for Android before but am looking to do so over the summer by building a game. What type of object do I use for a shape that I want the user to be able to drag around the screen for instance using touch gestures? How do I tie together the MotionEvent, View and Graphics2D to make objects drawn on screen that can be interacted with? I imagine this will use ActionListeners / Handlers but I'm a bit confused at this stage... A simple breakdown of steps would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Need guidance for my first Android application: how many activities should I use?

    Hi, I'm starting Android doing an application for searching restaurants, and some guidance would be welcome! On the first screen I'd like to have a search field with a submit button (I get the data from a web service), and below a list with the results of the search. When clicking on one of the items of the list it will show a screen with the restaurant details as well as a map showing its location. My questions are: Can I do everything in one single activity or should I do an activity for the search, one for the result list, one for the restaurant description, and another for the map? Would doing one single activity make the application more responsive? How can I use a list and a map within a normal activity (without ListActivity and MapActivity)?
