  • NUNIT + VS2010 = Unable to copy file from /obj to /bin...being used by another process

    I am trying to run some unit tests using NUnit while I have the project open, and VS 2010 cannot rebuild the project while the assembly is loaded in NUnit. I have looked around and haven't found any solutions that seen to fix it. I can close NUnit, then the project builds fine. This is a the same solution based on Rob Conery's BDD demo found here: http://tekpub.com/view/concepts/5 Any thoughts?

    Hi everyone, I would like to obtain the results retrieved from pageTest execution (core @ CVS) from a C# project (library or console). pageTest source code shows a dynamic library project (generating a DLL file) and also an application project (generating an EXE file).     Hi, I'm getting very confused about how to call my EF classes in a Class Library from the Client Project I have? Things worked fine when they were in the same project. Now I'm getting errors such as "Unable to load the specified metadata resource ". I've see various ideas / suggestions re how to fix the connection string (e.g. create an App.config in your client project & copy the connection string config from your class library, something about change the connection settings to copy to output, etc) QUESTION - Can someone provide a solid way on how to get EF class access from a separate project working? (i.e. how to get the correct connection information to the client somehow) thanks

    Hello everyone, This is what im working on: i have two lists, first one: collumn user and collumn project that the user is assigend to. second one (library): a list of all the projects I was wondering, how, by every row that is created in the first list (so adding a user and a project) it is possible to grant the user permissions on this project's reference in the second library (the projects library). Example: ProjectLibrary: Project1 Project2 Project3 the first list: user1 project1 user1 project2 user2 project2 user2 project3 user3 project3 now i want to give each user permission to see the project he's assigned to so that when he opens a third form, a combobox filled with projects will only show the projects he has permissions on. thank you so much!

  • what is the best practice approach for n-tier application development with entity framework?

    I am building an application using entity framework. I am using the T4 template to generate self tracking entities. Currently, I am thinking of creating the entity framework code in a separate project. In this same project, I would have partial classes with additional methods for the entities. I am thinking of creating a separate project for a service layer (WCF) with methods for the upper/presentation tier. The WCF layer will reference the entity framework project. The methods in the WCF layer will return the entities or accept the entities as the parameters. I am thinkg of creating a third project for the presentation layer (ASP.net), this will make calls to the WCF service but will also need to reference the entities as the WCF methods take these types as the parameters/return types. In short, i want to use the STE entities generated by the T4 template as a DTO to be used in all layers. I was originally thinking of creating a business logic layer that maps to each entities. Example: If i have a customer class, the Business Layer would have a CustomerBLL class and then methods in the customerBLL will be used by the service layer. I was also trying to create a DTO in this business layer. I however found that this approach is very time consuming and i do not see a major benefit as it would create more maintenance work. What is the best practice for n-tier application development using entity framework 4?

  • How to access Sharepoint List Items using an ID

    I am currently working on a nice table that displays the items in a list of "Tasks" on a dispForm page. Each Task is created and initially given a ProjectID depending on which project the task is for. The ProjectID is the actual ID given to the "project" when it is added to the list, therefore it is not actually a parameter in the list of projects while it is a parameter in the list of tasks. I would like to know how to use the ProjectID parameter in the task list to link to the Project list and grab the ProjectName parameter so that I can display the Project Name in the table. Currently I can not get it to work. All help is appreciated, Gale
