• Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id.

  I'm working in ASP .NET dynamic data. In one of my edit controls I wanted to allow the user to add records from a related table to the current page. (Literally, if you are on the orders page, you would be allowed to add a new customer to the system on this page as well, and then associate it with that order). So, I have a DetailsView set to InsertMode, nested inside of an UpdatePanel, which is shown by a ModalPopupExtender which is invoked when 'add new' is clicked. This doohickey works the first time i execute this process, that is, a customer is added (and i update the dropdown list as well). However, I realized it didn't work (properly) again until I refreshed the entire page. When I attached my debugger, my worst fears were realized (ok, not really). But an exception was being thrown: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id." Which seemed to be complaining about a Calendar Extender Control that is part of the details view. Any guidance on what's going on here would be great. Thanks.

The files we have got from client are: xxx.crl xxx.kdb xxx.rdb xxx.sth xxx.tab They said client channel table in that. I am trying to connect using the below code. And they are saying I don't need to specify the Queue Manager it will be defined in the Client Channel Table. But one thing is they have done while created key with the using "user1". • Entity Framework 4.0 Databinding with sorting not working

  I want to do something that I thought would be very simple. I want to bind a generated Entity Framework EntityCollection to a WPF DataGrid. I also want this grid to be sortable. I have tried all kinds of things to make this happen, including using a CollectionViewSource. However, nothing seems to work. Using a normal CollectionViewSource around the EntityCollection gives me: 'System.Windows.Data.BindingListCollectionView' view does not support sorting. Ok...strange. I would have thought this would work. Next on the CollectionViewSource, I try setting: CollectionViewType="ListCollectionView" Great, sorting now works. But wait, I can't add or remove entities using the grid now, presumably because ListCollectionView doesn't support this with an entity framework context. So, I guess I need to capture events coming out of the datagrid in order to add or remove entities manually from my context. Now I can't find an event to capture to detect an add...! Why is this so hard? This should be the standard "demo" case that Microsoft should have designed around. Any ideas?

• Dynamically created LinkButton not firing any events

  I'm customising the Group Headers on a Telerik RadGrid by injecting a LinkButton into it during the ItemDataBound event. The button renders perfectly, but I can't get it to hit any event handlers. • Creating a closeable tab in Mono/GTK

  I'm trying to create new GTK Notebook tabs that contain both a name (as a Label) and a close button (as a Button with an Image) with the following code: Label headerLabel = new Label(); headerLabel.Text = "Header"; HBox headerBox = new HBox(); Button closeBtn = new Button(); Image closeImg = new Image(Stock.Close, IconSize.Menu); closeBtn.Image = closeImg; closeBtn.Relief = ReliefStyle.None; headerBox.Add(headerLabel); headerBox.Add(closeBtn); headerBox.ShowAll(); MyNotebook.AppendPage(childWidget, headerBox); This seems to work just fine; however, the button is about 1.5 - 2 times the size is needs to be, so there is a lot of extra space around the image inside the button. Having looked at remove inner border on gtk.Button I now see that the culprit is the "inner-border" style property of the GtkButton, but (being new to GTK) I can't seem to figure out how to override its value. Is there some method of doing this that I'm missing? I don't have any reservations about not using a Button/Image combination, so any more obvious suggestions are welcome. Note: I have seen the suggestion in the linked question to use an EventBox, but I was not able to add the Relief and mouseover effects to that Widget.

• How do you send information from one window to another in the same program?

  In the program I am trying to build, I have a menu button that opens a second window. The user puts information into the second window, presses the "Done" button, and the information is transfered into the main window. The problem I am having is opening the second window. I have both windows build in xaml files in Visual Studio but I can't find a way to show the second window. Using "Window window = new Window" does not fit my needs because 1) I already have the second window built and 2) I have tried this and I cannot figure out how to add children to the window; there is no window.children nor any grid to put the children into. Thank you in advance! Moments after I pressed post, I thought of something I hadnt tried: "WindowAdd add = new WindowAdd; //WindowAdd being the second window add.Show();" This does exactly what I want it to do. The next problem I have is sending the information the TextBoxes into the MainWindow. I am thinking cookies might work but am unsure. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

  Hi people, I am thinking to create a filter object which filters and delete everything like html tags from a context. But I want it to be independent which means the design pattern I can apply will help me to add more filters in the future without effecting the current codes. I thought Abstract Factory but it seems it ain't gonna work out the way I want. So maybe builder but it looks same. I don't know I am kinda confused, some one please recommend me a design pattern which can solve my problem but before that let me elaborate the problem a little bit. Lets say I have a class which has Description field or property what ever. And I need filters which remove the things I want from this Description property. So whenever I apply the filter I can add more filter in underlying tier. So instead of re-touching the Description field, I can easily add more filters and all the filters will run for Description field and delete whatever they are supposed to delete from the Description context. I hope I could describe my problem. I think some of you ran into the same situation before. Thanks in advance...

• What's slowing for loops/assignment vs. C?

  I have a collection of PHP scripts that are extremely CPU intensive, juggling millions of calculations across hundreds of simultaneous users. I'm trying to find a way to speed up the internals of PHP variable assignment, and looping sequences vs C. Although PHP is obviously loosely typed, is there any way/extension to specifically assign type (assign, not cast, which seems even more expensive) in a C-style fashion? Here's what I mean. This is some dummy code in C: #include <stdio.h> int main() { unsigned long add=0; for(unsigned long x=0;x<100000000;x++) { add = x*59328409238; } printf("x is %ld\n",add); } Pretty self-explanatory -- it loops 100 million times, multiples each iteration by an arbitrary number of some 59 billion, assigns it to a variable and prints it out. On my Macbook, compiling it and running it produced: lees-macbook-pro:Desktop lee$ time ./test2 x is 5932840864471590762 real 0m0.266s user 0m0.253s sys 0m0.002s Pretty darn fast! • Switching from ListView to VirtualStringTree

  Hey S.O! I am trying to build my projects with a VirtualStringTree rather than a Listview, because of the vast speed difference. The thing is, even after looking thru the demo's, I just can't figure out exactly how I would use it as a ListView. Like, adding, deleting, and basically just working with ListView items is so easy, but when I look at the VT, it gets almost too complicated. All I am looking for, is a VT that looks like a ListView, with subitems etc. Here are some routines using the ListView, that I would like to use with VT (This is just a pseudo example: procedure Add; begin with ListView.Items.Add do Begin Caption := EditCaption.Text; SubItems.Add(EditSubItem.Text): End; end; Procedure ReadItem(I : Integer); begin ShowMessage(ListView.Items[I].Caption); ShowMessage(ListView.Items[I].SubItems[0]); end; Of course, also the Delete function, but since thats like 1 line, I didnt bother :P Could anyone maybe translate the above examples into using a ListView style VT? For example I want to try to add the required attribute to the field Username instead/in addtion of using the validation I currently have. My question is how can I achieve this because the dmbl file is auto generated. Or maybe it is not possible and should I use a different approach?

• NHibernate query with Projections.Cast to DateTime

  I'm experimenting with using a string for storing different kind of data types in a database. When I do queries I need to cast the strings to the right type in the query itself. I'm using .Net with NHibernate, and was glad to learn that there exists functionality for this. Consider the simple class: public class Foo { public string Text { get; set; } } I successfully use Projections.Cast to cast to numeric values, e.g. the following query correctly returns all Foos with an interger stored as int - between 1-10. var result = Session.CreateCriteria<Foo>() .Add(Restrictions.Between(Projections.Cast(NHibernateUtil.Int32, Projections.Property("Text")), 1, 10)) .List<Foo>(); Now if I try using this for DateTime I'm not able to make it work no matter what I try. • Is it possible to store ObjectContext on the client when using WCF and Entity Framework?

  Hello, I have a WCF service which performs CRUD operation on my data model: Add, Get, Update and Delete. And I'm using Entity Framework for my data model. On the other side there is a client application which calls methods of the WCF service. For example I have a Customer class: [DataContract] public class Customer { public Guid CustomerId {get; set;} public string CustomerName {get; set;} } and WCF service defines this method: public void AddCustomer(Customer c) { MyEntities _entities = new MyEntities(); _entities.AddToCustomers(c); _entities.SaveChanges(); } and the client application passes objects to the WCF service: var customer = new Customer(){CustomerId = Guid.NewGuid, CustomerName="SomeName"}; MyService svc = new MyService(); svc.Add(customer); // or svc.Update(customer) for example But when I need to pass a great amount of objects to the WCF it could be a perfomance issue because of I need to create ObjectContext each time when I'm doing Add(), Update(), Get() or Delete(). What I'm thinking on is to keep ObjectContext on the client and pass ObjectContext to the wcf methods as additional parameter. Is it possible to create and keep ObjectContext on the client and don't recreate it for each operation? If it is not, how could speed up the passing of huge amount of data to the wcf service? Sergey

• Why isn't jQuery automatically appending the JSONP callback?

  The $.getJSON() documentation states: If the specified URL is on a remote server, the request is treated as JSONP instead. See the discussion of the jsonp data type in $.ajax() for more details. The $.ajax() documentation for the jsonp data type states (emphasis mine): Loads in a JSON block using JSONP. Will add an extra "?callback=?" to the end of your URL to specify the callback. So it seems that if I call $.getJSON() with a cross-domain URL, the extra "callback=?" parameter should automatically get added. (Other parts of the documentation support this interpretation.) However, I'm not seeing that behavior. If I don't add the "callback=?" explicitly, jQuery incorrectly makes an XMLHttpRequest (which returns null data since I can't read the response cross-domain). If I do add it explicitly, jQuery correctly makes a <script> request. Here's an example: var URL = "http://www.geonames.org/postalCodeLookupJSON" + "?postalcode=10504&country=US"; function alertResponse(data, status) { alert("data: " + data + ", status: " + status); } $.getJSON(URL, alertResponse); // alerts "data: null, status: success" $.getJSON(URL + "&callback=?", alertResponse); // alerts "data: [object Object], status: undefined" So what's going on? • Using ContentProviderOperation to update and insert contacts

  Hello, I faced the problem updating/insertng contacts on Android 2.0+. There is no problem to insert a new contact when phone book is empty but when I did it 2nd time some fileds like TEL, EMAIL are doubled and tripped etc. but N, FN, ORG are ok (one copy). After getting and advice of other member this forum I updated a contact first and then ContentProviderResult[] returned uri's with null then I do an insert action and it went ok but after that I made an update and all contacts are aggregated into one - i got 1 contact insted 3 which existed in phone book. This one was damaged, the contact fields are randomly built. I set Google account. • Telerik MVC Combobox AutoComplete error

• Seperating Javascript and Html, when dynamically adding html via javascript

  I am currently building a very dynamic table for a list application, which will basically perform basic CRUD functions via AJAX. What I would like to do is separate the visual design and javascript to the point where I can change the design side without touching the JS side. This would only work where the design stays roughly the same(i would like to use it for rapid protyping) Here is an example. <table> <tr><td>record-123</td><td>I am line 123</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-124</td><td>I am line 124</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-125</td><td>I am line 125</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>add new record</td></tr> </table> Now, when I add a new record, I would like to insert a new row of html, but I would rather not put this html into the javascript file. What I am considering is creating a row like this on the page, near the table. <tr style='visble:none;' id='template-row'><td>record-id</td><td>content-area</td><td>delete row</td></tr> And when I come to add the new row, I search the page for the tags with the id=template-row , and then grab it, do a string replace on it, and then put it in the right place in the page. As long as the design doesn't shift radically, and I keep the placeholder strings the same, it means designs can be quickly modified without touching the js. Can any give any advice on a methodology like this?

• iCal file that will update the attendee list?

  So I want to add an iCal file to a web page, so that people can add an event to their calendars. But when I view the event in my calendar (Outlook 2007) I want to see everyone who will be attending. How can I do that? I just started experimenting with this, I used Outlook's Save As to create an iCal file for a single event. That works, I can link to that file and other people can add the event to their calendars. But it doesn't tell me who has added it. • Median Filter a bi-level image with JAI

  I'd like to apply a Median Filter to a bi-level image and output a bi-level image. The JAI median filter seems to output an RGB image, which I'm having trouble downconverting back to bi-level. Currently I can't even get the image back into gray color-space, my code looks like this: BufferedImage src; // contains a bi-level image ParameterBlock pb = new ParameterBlock(); pb.addSource(src); pb.add(MedianFilterDescriptor.MEDIAN_MASK_SQUARE); pb.add(3); RenderedOp result = JAI.create("MedianFilter", pb); ParameterBlock pb2 = new ParameterBlock(); pb2.addSource(result); pb2.add(new double[][]{{0.33, 0.34, 0.33, 0}}); RenderedOp grayResult = JAI.create("BandCombine", pb2); BufferedImage foo = grayResult.getAsBufferedImage(); This code hangs on the grayResult line and appears not to return. I assume that I'll eventually need to call the "Binarize" operation in JAI. Edit: Actually, the code appears to be stalling once I call getAsBufferedImage(), but returns nearly instantly when the second operation ("BandCombine") is removed. Is there a better way to keep the Median Filtering in the source color domain? If not, how do I downconvert back to binary?

• part of contact are repeated after each writing the same contact (Android 2.0+)

  Hello, I met this problem at writing contacts by API for Android 2.0 or greater. Each time I write the same contact which already exist in my account (Google account) I got some part of contact aggregated ok but other did not. For example fields like FN, N, ORG, TITLE always are in one copy but TEL, EMAIL, ADR are added extra so after 2nd writing the same contact I have 2 copy the same TEL or EMAIL. How to force API engine to not repeate existed data ?
