Hello group, I am helping out a friend with setting up a web site based on eSyndicat.
Is anyone here using this platform, can questions be asked here for it?
If not, can you recommend a good place for that.
I am doing a query with three tables, the problem was one table has many occurrences of id of another.
sample data:
users: id
answers:
id:1
user_answer :1
id:1
user_answer :2
id:1
user_answer :3
Questions:
id:1
answers :answer description
id:2
answers :answer description
id:3
answers :answer description
How can I get all user information and all answer and its description, I used GROUP by user.id but it only returns only one answer.
I want to return something like this list all of users answer:
Name Q1 Q2
USERNAME ans1,ans2 ans1,ans2 comma separated description of answer here
Hi Guys,
I have a trigger that sends an email once a value has been changed.
It works when i make any amendments but when the users make the changes it fails.
I have figured out the users havnt got permission to send mails in master.dbo.xp_sendmail
The way the DB was originally setup wis shocking!! (each user has a network login rather than being part of a network group)
Is there anyway i can allow a role in customerDb to access the xp_sendmail proc in the mater db?
Thanks

How would one go about converting this into a UDF? I'll pass the product_id to the UDF.
Running SQL 2k5
SELECT
sum(qty) as qty,
product_id
FROM vProductQuantity
WHERE
product_id = @product_id
GROUP BY product_id
With this query, I get a result that is two short of the table because they are not included in count, and I would like get the NULL values in the result. To do this, I am pretty sure I need to use a subquery of some kind, but I am not sure how, since the attribute in question is an aggregate.
SELECT Equipment.SerialNo , Name, COUNT(Assignment.SerialNo)
FROM Equipment
INNER JOIN Assignment
ON Assignment.SerialNo = Equipment.SerialNo
GROUP BY Equipment.SerialNo, Name
We are building our internal library of components up, and was wondering what everybody has in their library of reusable components for your organization, for desktop applications.
Our list currently includes only a couple of components:
Logon, Security and User Group functionality
System Tray / Service Framework
Component for Internet Communications (to handle proxies, security, etc...)
Billing
What else do you have, that we should add to our list?
If you have reusable web components, save your answers... I will open a different question if this one is successful.
am doing one project using vb6.0+access+crystal report8.5

I am trying to select the most common 100 names from a table then display the list showing the names and count. I want the user to be able to re-sort the list alphabetically rather than based on count.
I thought the following code would do it. It works for the default sort by count but fails on the sort alphabetically. The line "$count = mysql_num_rows($table);" gives an error: mysql_num_rows() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
// Get most popular surnames
echo '<h2>Most Common Surnames</h2>';
if ($sort == "") { // default sort by count
echo '<a href="http://mysite/names.php?id='.$id.'&sort=name">Sort by name</a><br>';
$query = "SELECT family_name, COUNT(*) as count FROM namefile
WHERE record_key = $id
GROUP BY family_name
ORDER BY count DESC LIMIT 100";
}
else { // sort alphabetically
echo '<a href="http://mysite/names.php?id='.$id.'">Sort by count</a><br>';
$query = "SELECT * FROM (
SELECT family_name, COUNT(*) as count FROM namefile
WHERE record_key = $id
GROUP BY family_name
ORDER BY count DESC LIMIT 100)
AS alpha ORDER BY family_name";
}
$table = mysql_query($query);
$count = mysql_num_rows($table);
$tot = 0;
$i = 0;
echo '<table><tr>';
while ($tot < $count2) {
$rec2 = mysql_fetch_array($table2);
echo '<td>'.$rec2[0].'</td><td>'.$rec2[1].'</td><td width="40"> </td><td>';
if ($i++ == 6) {
echo '</tr><tr>';
$i = 0;
}
$tot++;
}
echo '</tr></table><br>';
UPDATE: I needed to add "AS alpha" to give the outer select a unique name. (alpha is just a random name I made up.) It now works perfectly. Code updated for the benefit of any others who need something similar.
I have two tables: subject and student.
I'm trying to count the number of subjects enrolled by each student. How do I do that?I'm trying the code below but it doesn't give the answer I need. Please help.
SELECT COUNT( subject.SUBJECT ) , student.IDNO, student.FIRSTNAME, subject.SUBJECT
FROM student, subject
GROUP BY subject.SUBJECT
LIMIT 0 , 30
I have defined function which returns table with 2 columns. Can I rename these columns so that resulting table would be like:
Press name | Sum of pages
?
CREATE FUNCTION F_3
(@press nvarchar(255))
RETURNS @table TABLE ( Press nvarchar(255),
PagesSum int )
AS
BEGIN
INSERT @table SELECT @press, SUM(Books.Pages)
FROM Books, Press
WHERE Press.Name = @press AND
Books.Id_Press = Press.Id
GROUP BY Press.Name
RETURN
END
GO
SELECT * FROM F_3('BHV')
GO
I've tried to do it like
Press AS 'Press name' nvarchar(255)
but that won't work.
My Python server receives jobs that contain a list of the items to act against, rather like a search query term; an example input:
(Customer:24 OR Customer:24 OR (Group:NW NOT Customer:26))
To complicate matters, customers can join and leave groups at any time, and the job should be updated live when this happens.
How is best to parse, apply and store (in my RDBMS) this kind of list of constraints?
Hi all
I have the following 4 arrays ( grouped in 2 groups ) that I would like to merge in ascending order by the keys array.
I can use also dictionaries as structure if it is easier.
Has python any command or something to make this quickly possible?
Regards
MN
# group 1
[7, 2, 3, 5] #keys
[10,11,12,26] #values
[0, 4] #keys
[20, 33] #values
# I would like to have
[ 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 ] # ordered keys
[20, 11,12,33,26,33] # associated values
I'm querying a big mysql database with only read privileges, and I'd like to set some slow query results to a variable, 'foo', so I can use them again in other queries.
I get, ERROR 1193 (HY000): Unknown system variable '$foo'
when I enter:
set $foo := (select *
from table1 join table2
where bar = 0
group by id);
Is there a way to do this with variables, since I don't have privileges to create temporary tables?
If I need a php-page to have access to upload images and move images from a folder on the server, what permissions would I set on the folder then?
I know we have "Owner", "Group", and "Others".
But what does the server (or the php-code itself) count as? Owner?
Also, would I need to set the php-page with the upload script with some specific permissions to be able to upload the files? Is it execute permissions?
Thanks
Hi, I've 2 machines with names Comp1, Comp2. There is a DNS name for them, that mask them as one, let say DNSName.
I get IP addresses for both machines via Dns.GetHostEntry("DNSName").
But when I try get Dns.GetHostEntry(ipAddress) entry.HostName always contains DNSName.
I found some way to get name through WMI. But our policy doesn't allow WMI on remote machines.
I can do parsing of nbstat -a output, but I would like to do some clean aproach to this.
Is there some way?

What is the difference between the createGroup and createGroupIgnoreTooBig?
I understand that createGroup will throw the too big exception when the object exceeds 64k, and createGroupIgnoreTooBig will not. But does it mean that createGroupIgnoreTooBig allows me to create objects larger than 64k, or will it only partially group it?
With Wordpress based function:
$response = wp_remote_post()
I can POST data and retrieve the body of the POST page in $response-body
But how can I POST and redirect the user to the post page?
It's not an option to create Form page and Submit button because I'm trying to create a plugin for Group buying plugin in Wordpress.
It is also not an option to use GET, because the "destination" POST page will not allow data in the URL.
Please help me !
I want to extract some keywords out of a query string for a search application in asp.net.
I decoded the url string first, so it's plain text
I have this to start with, but I want to add a keyword group
I'd like to trim off the stuff for pure words, but not sure if that's possible
I also have a long list of possible query string value fields that I want to check against
?q=
@q=
?qs=
&qs=
I have the below query
Select
case upper(device_model)
when 'IPHONE' then 'iOS - iPhone'
when 'IPAD' then 'iOS - iPad'
when 'IPOD TOUCH' then 'iOS - iPod Touch'
Else 'Android'
End As Device_Model,
count(create_dtime) as Installs_Oct17_Oct30
From Player
Where Create_Dtime >= To_Date('2012-Oct-17','yyyy-mon-dd')
And Create_Dtime <= To_Date('2012-Oct-30','yyyy-mon-dd')
Group By Device_Model
Order By Device_Model
This spits out multiple rows of results that read "Android"....I would like there to be only 4 results rows, one for each case....so it comes out like this:
Device_Model Installs_Oct17_Oct30
Android 987
iOS - iPad 12003
iOS - iPhone 8563
iOS- iPod Touch 3482
SELECT categories.*, COUNT(categoryID) AS kritCount
FROM categories AS categories
LEFT JOIN krits ON categories.id = categoryID
WHERE (krits.approved = '1')
GROUP BY categories.id
So this works great except that it does not return a category that has a 0 count of krits in the category.
It will if I remove the WHERE statement but I need the WHERE to only select the krits where the field approved = 1
I need to get a get a count of all the distinct subnets in an IP column and group by the subnet on MS SQL. ie.. count all ips that have a subnet of 192.168.0,192.168.1,10.10.10 and so on.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I'm using twitter bootstrap in my application. i gave e.preventDefault for link button in $(document).reday(), but it is not working.
Here is my code:
Master page:
<a id="lnkLogout" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="PageLogout();"><i class="icon-off">
</i>Logout</a>
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#lnkLogout').click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); });
});
function PageLogout() {
//Code for logout from the application....
}
</script>
SampleDefaultPage.aspx :
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="form-horizontal">
<h4 class="header blue bolder smaller">
Contact</h4>
<div class="control-group">
<label for="form-field-email" class="control-label">
Email</label>
<div class="controls">
<input type="text" style="width:200px;" data-val="true" data-val-required="Mobile Number is required." id="txtEmail">
<div class="space-3">
</div>
<span data-valmsg-replace="true" data-valmsg-for="txtEmail" class="field-validation-valid text-warning red"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="control-group">
<label for="form-field-website" class="control-label">
Phone Number</label>
<div class="controls">
<input type="text" style="width:200px;" id="txtPhno">
</div>
</div>
</div>
I have given txtEmail as mandatory field. if i left that field blank and click on Logout button in Master page, it says txtEmail is required. i dint do any validation in Logout onclick event. I have given preventDefault for Logout link. But still facing an issue. I should be able to logout even though txtEmail is left blank.
Thank you all in advance for your response.
