    i have an ubuntu with three virtual machines running inside running ubuntu also i update the host using apt-get update but i can update VM's, it takes a long time + uses a lot of bandwith which i'm running out of,i want to transfer the updated files by apt-get to VMs, could you please tell me where are they? i'm not talking about the packages themselves stored in /var/cache/apt/archives, i want the file that stores list of available packages on mirror i have selected, thanks lot ps: i know this question has been asked somewhere but i cant find it!

  • Game Object Design

    I'm having a problem with the way I designed my first simple game in C++. I have GameObject (abstract class) and ObjectA which inherits the update() and draw() methods from GameObject. My main loop contains a linked list of GameObject*, and while that list is not empty it cycles through it, calling update on each one. Up until this point, I thought the design was standard(?) and would work. However, when I call update on ObjectA() I run into two problems: ObjectA can die which messes up the list, which in turn throws off the loop in main. ObjectA can spawn more ObjectA's but these are local scope and the update() goes out of scope, creating problems in main's list of GameObjects. I think my design if alright, but I'm having such problems with segmentation faults that there must be something seriously wrong with at least one part of my implementation. If anyone could point out any serious mistakes or simple examples of this being done (or even alternative designs) then I would greatly appreciate it!

  • RegLoadAppKey working fine on 32-bit OS, failing on 64-bit OS, even if both processes are 32-bit

    I'm using .NET 4 and the new RegistryKey.FromHandle call so I can take the hKey I get from opening a registry file with RegLoadAppKey and operate on it with the existing managed API. I thought at first it was just a matter of a busted DllImport and my call had an invalid type in the params or a missing MarshalAs or whatever, but looking at other registry functions and their DllImport declarations (for instance, on pinvoke.net), I don't see what else to try (I've had hKey returned as both int and IntPtr, both worked on 32-bit OS and fail on 64-bit OS) I've got it down to as simple a repro case as I can - it just tries to create a 'random' subkey then write a value to it. It works fine on my Win7 x86 box and fails on Win7 x64 and 2008 R2 x64, even when it's still a 32-bit process, even run from a 32-bit cmd prompt.     I have a TFS 2008 Build Agent that has been used to build .Net 3.5 applications. I now have a .Net 4.0 app which i want to compile on the same build agent. I have ensured that MSBuild 4.0 is installed on there and all the required componentry is also installed, but i am getting the following MSB4062 error when building: [Any CPU/Release] C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets(244,5): error MSB4062: The "Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.GetSilverlightItemsFromProperty" task could not be loaded from the assembly C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.dll. Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. Confirm that the declaration is correct, and that the assembly and all its dependencies are available. I am presuming that i get this because the TFSBuild.proj gets executed by MSBuild 3.5 which in turn means my solution is compiled with MSBuild 3.5. Am i correct with my diagnosis? Is there any way to ensure that TFS2008 uses MSBuild 4.0 for my solution? Can it be done on a single team project so that it doesn't affect any other team projects being built on the same build agent?     I have taken backup of SQL Server 2008 DB on server, and download them to local environment. I am trying to restore that database and it is keep on giving me following error. An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. Operating system error 123(The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.). Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.     Hello StackOverflow! We deploy our application using ClickOnce, installed from a file path. For 24 versions it has been working perfectly - now, on version 25 I get the following error once the application has installed and it launches: If I test a previous deployment on the same machine, it works. Where can I even begin to look to find the cause of this error? I already checked the windows event logs - nothing. EDIT: I noticed that while the dialog is displayed, a temporary xml file 'WER561D.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml' is generated in my temp folder.
