• How to disambiguate subdirs with the same name in the Projects list?

  My Qt project has 2 subdirs/subprojects with the same name. Their directories are myproject/node and myproject/compiler/test/node. The problem (or annoyance) is that, in the Projects list in Qt, both subdirs are listed as "node". So you have to open them up to figure out which is which. myproject.pro is like this: TEMPLATE = subdirs QMAKE_CLEAN = Makefile SUBDIRS += \ compiler_test_node \ node \ ... compiler_test_node.subdir = compiler/test/node node.depends = compiler_vuo_compile ... Without renaming the myproject/compiler/test/node directory, is there a way to make it show up with a different name in the Projects list?

• Multiple Apps Possible via Launch Services, want to Specify Particular One

  Here's the issue: I have a list of App names that I want to launch. They do not include a path (e.g. {"VLC","Microsoft Word"}. I have two different copies of VLC in different directories. I would like Launch Services to ONLY open the one from /Applications/ and not EVER launch from /Applications/AnotherDirectory I want to get the path of these, and test to see what Launch Services wants to launch (via bash with "open" or applescript via "tell _ to launch" or [NSWorkspace launch...]) The only way that I have come up with to test the path of a file about to be launched by launch services is: Applescript: tell application "Finder" to return the (posix path of (path to application "VLC" as alias)) That works fine, but launches the app (which I don't want at all). Suggestions?

  Cake handles pagination of a model with a simple $this-paginate(), but what should I use if I want to paginate a array of values? The Scenario is like this: $this->set('sitepages', $this->paginate()); This code in my index() returns an array like Array ( [0] => Array ( [Sitepage] => Array ( [id] => 13 [name] => Home [urlslug] => home [parent_id] => 1 [page_title] => Welcome to KIAMS, Pune [order] => 1 ) ) [1] => Array ( [Sitepage] => Array ( [id] => 26 [name] => About Us [urlslug] => aboutus [parent_id] => 1 [page_title] => [order] => 2 ) ) [2] => Array ( [Sitepage] => Array ( [id] => 27 [name] => Overview of KIAMS [urlslug] => aboutus/overview [parent_id] => 26 [page_title] => [order] => 2 ) ) I retrieved the same data using $this-Sitepage-find('all') and then performed some manipulations as required and form a array which is very similar to the above one, but the ordering gets changed. I want to paginate this new array and pass it to the view. I tried $this->set('sitepages',$this->paginate($newarray)) But the data is not getting paginated. Can some one please help with paginating the $newarray in CakePHP?

• PHP: Iterate through folders and display HTML contends

  Hi, I’m currently trying to develop a method to get a overview of all my different web templates I’ve created and (legally) downloaded over the years. I thought about a displaying them like Wordpress is previewing it’s templates view a small preview windows, displaying the concrete file with styles and everything. How to divide them into rows and columns and create AJAX modal window open on preview and pagination and so on I believe I can manage, but it is the concept itself about iterate over several folders then find all index.htm / index.html pages and displaying them. I’ve not worked very much with directories in PHP and the only references and code stumps I’ve found so far is just to list all the files in a certain directory like, what it contains. I would be really grateful if someone knew about a script, a function, snippet or just could get me a nudge in the right direction to create such a (probably simple) preview function. • Using JLists and ListModels

  I have defined a DirectoryListModel class that extends the AbstractListModel class from the Java Api. Internally, I have a list of File objects. I have defined the getElementAt(int index) method as: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index) } The problem is that when I try to run my JList with my DirectoryListModel, it is going to show up the full paths of files instead of just the filenames. I could change this code to: @Override public Object getElementAt(int index) { return directoryElements.get(index).getName(); } and it'd work wonders, but the problem is that in the onclick event I'll want to have the File objects so I can do some checking with them (check if they're directories, etc). If I make getElementAt() return a String, I'm losing that possibility, thus I'd like to konw if there is a way I can format my File objects before the JList shows them in my window. Thanks

• Writing own Unix shell in C - Problems with PATH and execv

  I'm writing my own shell in C. It needs to be able to display the users current directory, execute commands based on the full path (must use execv), and allow the user to change the directory with cd. This IS homework. The teacher only gave us a basic primer on C and a very brief skeleton on how the program should work. Since I'm not one to give up easily I've been researching how to do this for three days, but now I'm stumped. This is what I have so far: Displays the user's username, computername, and current directory (defaults to home directory). Prompts the user for input, and gets the input Splits the user's input by " " into an array of arguments Splits the environment variable PATH by ":" into an array of tokens I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I know I've got to use the execv command but in my research on google I haven't really found an example I understand. For instance, if the command is bin/ls, how does execv know the display all files/folders from the home directory? How do I tell the system I changed the directory? • Linux How to print all the files with the same prefix after searching for them?

  I need to search through a directory which contains many sub directories, each which contain files. The files read as follows question1234_01, where 1234 are random digits and the suffix _01 is the number of messages that contain the prefix, meaning they are apart of the same continuing thread. find . -name 'quest*' | cut -d_ -f1 | awk '{print $1}' | uniq -c | sort -n example output: 1 quest1234 10 quest1523 This searches for all the files then sorts them in order. What I want to do is print all the files which end up having the most occurrences, in my example the one with 10 matches. So it should only output quest1523_01 - 11

• Problem with unlink() in php!

  I'm creating a temp image always named 1.png under specific folder and once i read the image_contents and process, i use unlink() to delete that specific image from that folder. But sometimes the image file is not deleted and the same image is file is read and processed. That script is working otherwise fine... There is no permission related issues , as the files are deleted sometimes... Will there be any issue when the script is repeatedly called and the image with the name is already present and not deleted etc.. ??? • How many bootable partitions are possible to have on one hard drive?

  This may not be the correct place to post this; if that's the case, just let me know and point me in the right direction please! I'm thinking of building a box that needs to be lightweight and portable, and would need to be able to boot multiple installations of windows. I am needing to have multiple installations so that I can, for example, plug the box in to the network at one location, boot in to that location's partition, and have full access to everything I would normally need to do on a computer that has already been set up on that network. Then, when I go to the next client, I would be able to do the same thing, with the new location's partition, and have all of those network settings, drive mappings, etc., available there. Obviously I'd need to go through and set them all up on the different locations/networks, I'm not expecting it to magically know where I am and what I'm doing. It would be like I'm carrying around a computer that is configured for each place I need to go in one little box, instead of having to have multiple computers or having to reconfigure all the settings and such every time I go to another client. Or is there an easier way to do this that I haven't learned of?

I have a list of about 20 parent directories which have few thousand recursive subdirs and every subdir has few hundred records. • Configuring WPA WiFi in Ubuntu 10.10

  Hello, I am trying to configure my wireless network on my laptop running Ubuntu 10.10 and am having a bit of difficulty. I am a complete Linux newb, but want to learn it, hence the reason I'm trying to set this up. Here's the vitals: It is a Gateway 600 YG2 laptop. It was previously running Windows XP, but I installed Ubuntu 10.10 in place of it (not a dual boot, I removed XP altogether). I have an old wireless card that I'm trying to resurrect. I haven't really used the card in a couple years, but it seems to still work, I just can't connect to my home's wireless network. The card is a Linksys WPC11 v2.5. When I plug it in, Ubuntu recognizes the network, but won't connect to it. My home network uses WPA encryption and the only connection type that Ubuntu's network manager is giving me is WEP and then it asks for a key -- I have no idea what that key should be. So, basically, I'm asking, is there a way I can instead connect through WPA? I've tried creating a new connection in network manager, but that won't work, it keeps falling back to the WEP connection and asking me for a key. I have tried to install the XP driver using ndiswrapper but I don't know if that's working or not. Is there a way to tell if: A) the card is working as it should B) the correct drivers are installed (again, I installed the XP one using ndiswrapper NET8180.INF, but I'm not sure what to do next) Any help would be appreciated.   Hello, I'm having a little difficulty with my .htaccess when combining a password protection on a file and a mod_rewrite: If I only have this as my .htaccess <FilesMatch "manage.php"> AuthName "Member Only" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /home/myuser/.htpasswd require valid-user </FilesMatch> It password protects manage.php fine. If I have this as my .htaccess RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|manage\.php|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] It works as expected: robots.txt, index.php and manage.php are left alone and are called as normal, everything else is redirected to index.php/$1 HOWEVER, If I combine them then when I visit manage.php it gets redirected as index.php/$1, i.e. the FilesMatch is causing the entry in rewritecond to be ignored. If I actually enter a password in the original test and get to the file, it works in this last test. So I guess something is up with the rewrite and the file match. i.e. entering this causes .\manage.php to be called as .\index.php\manage.php <FilesMatch "manage.php"> AuthName "Member Only" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /home/myuser/.htpasswd require valid-user </FilesMatch> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|manage\.php|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] Thanks for any help :)

  I have an HttpModule that looks at the query string for a parameter called "cmd" and executes one of a small set of predefined commands that display server stats in XML. For example, http://server01?cmd=globalstats. • Creating a file/folder structure and zipping it up?

  I have a directory of image files and I need a php script or shell script that will rename them, create a structure of nested directories, and then insert each image into a specified place in the directory hierarchy. Ideally I would just specify a parent directory for each file and a parent directory for each directory and it would build it. And then finally, I need the script to zip up the whole thing. There's probably not an existing php class that will do all this for me, but if anyone knows of a php class or other script available online that would handle a lot of this logic that would be great.

• Prevent Apache from answering invalid requests

  I have an Apache web-server that acts as a web front-end for iPhone and iPad applications that communicate by POST and JSON only. Is there any way to prevent Apache from answering requests that are invalid? I can see my error log is filled with attempts to open files such as /admin.php /index.php etc - files that don't exist on my server. I believe this is possible with IIS, but can you do the same thing with Apache? Basically I want the request to appear timed out unless you post exactly the right content to the right file - or at least if you do not request an existing file. This would make the server appear non-existing to everyone but my iPhone users as all communication is SSL and directories are not really guess-able. I did disable the ServerTokens and all that, but I still get File not found etc. when I access the server requesting a random file, which is what these bots do constantly.

• How to transfer Eclipse workspace and project from Windows to Linux and Mac

  We have a a product developed on Windows for years. The product is composed of one Eclipse workspace and about 20 projects. On Windows, we ask every developer check out projects into d:\dev\product folder, and copy a unified Workspace to d:\dev\prod_workspace. This way, whenever a new machine is set, we simply copy files to the same folder, and we can start working immediately. No We need to move our development environment to Linux and Mac. But there's no D:\ on Unix. And home folder for Linux is mostly like /home/username and /Users/username for Mac. We found Eclipse keeps absolute path in workspace when referring to projects, so simply copy workspace over does not work anymore. Even when we manually create/configure workspace on a Linux machine, it still cannot be copied over to another user, because the absolute path is changed. I guess our goal is to allow easy setup of development environment. Do you have any suggestion to move eclipse workspace around? Thanks! Li

• Battery life if using GPS and background program

  I was wondering if anyone has created an app that starts in the background and utilizes the GPS to gather the current Lat and Long every minute or so? If you have, would you please provide your battery times? As in, how long does your phone last until its all out of juice from just running that background app with standard cell phone programs. I'm trying to see if it would be worth the time to create an app for myself but if i work for 8 hours and dont have a way of charging my phone during that time then i dont want to be going home and it shut down on me since my app i would create works at my house. I need the app to work since it will see when i am in range of my home (from the GPS) and then send commands to my server at the house from my phone. So thats why it would need to be able to stay in the background doing a check every 1 minute or so. Or only turn on the GPS (Is is doable with iOS? & Android?) whenever its after 5pm each day so that it will minimize the load on the battery?!? Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I've heard about using ob_start() at the beginning of content, but that's not a very specific instruction...I tried placing it at the beginning of homepage.php (just before the html tag) and that didn't fix anything. I'm new to PHP (a few days in, and new to web-app dev in general). To be honest, it blows my mind that I can't just change which page I am on, via php without bending over backwards...

  Hello! I'm doing some Delphi (2010) work this summer, and I've stumbled upon this problem: My project consists of reusable backend library and a bunch of GUIs that tap into its interface. In this circumstances I've decided to make the backend and GUIs separate projects within single project group (I hope my train of thought is correct). The problem is, how can I include units from the backend in a GUI project? I've tried to modify Project Options > Directories and Conditionals but compiler still complains about being unable to find proper .dcu's. Any ideas? Your help will be appreciated.

• Fetch multiple rows from SQL in PHP foreach item in array

  I try to request an array of IDs, to return each row with that ID, and push each into an Array $finalArray But only the first result from the Query will output, and at the second foreach, it skips the while loop. • cakephp links not relative

  In my layout, I have a menu that I've included as an element, and it contains a link like so.. <? $html->link('New Part Number','/part_numbers/add'); ?> The problem that I have is that cake isn't redirecting correctly and it ends up sending me to "http://localhost/part_numbers/add" instead of "http://localhost/my_client_folder/client_app/part_numbers/add" (I'm building this locally). My cakephp app is stored a few directories below my webroot folder, but I thought cakephp would autodetect how to build the linking no matter where the application was located, right? So do i need to configure the application root folder, or create a route or something? Thanks!
