Now I need help doing the following: Have totalTax() take in 2 arguments one for the price and one for the tax. On submit (use the onSubmit event handler to call this function) have the function process the price and the tax by manipulating the arguments you passed in. • Why aren't my JQuery .ajax requests being made in parallel?

  I am trying to make two ajax requests in parallel using jQuery like this: var sources = ["source1", "source2"]; $(sources).each(function() { var source = this; $.ajax({ async: true, type: "POST", data: {post: "data", in: "here"}, url: "/my/url/" + source, success: function(data) { process_result(data); } }); }); I got the basic structure from this question, but my requests still aren't being made in parallel. "source1" takes a while to complete, and I can see on the server that the second request isn't made until the first is completed. As far as I can tell, I don't have any other active requests, so I don't think it's a problem with the maximum number of parallel requests for the browser. Am I missing something else here?

  I realized that I can specify $(document).ready(function(){}); more than once. Suppose like this $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "1122"; //do something.. }); $(document).ready(function(){ var abc = "def"; //do something.. }); Is this standard ? Those codes work on my FF (16.0.2). I just a little afraid that other browser may not. What actually happen ? How jQuery handle those code ? Thanks.

The xml feed is being read by my application and i'm looping through all it's descendants.   Hi, I'm creating function which will read different XML files each time that will contain different amounts of the same nodes. I have already created a loop which stores the ID of each node into an array, and now I want to create variables for each array member which store attributes of the node with each ID. Because the number of nodes will be different for every XML document my function reads, I cannot manually assign variables for the attributes of each node ID not knowing how many to assign, so I have created a loop which runs specific to the number of items I have stored in the array. Inside this loop I was hoping to have something like: for (i=0; i<array.length; i++) { var ID + i + width = exampleheight var ID + i + height = exampleheight } I know this doesn't work, but was trying to outline what I am looking to find out. Is it possible to use some kind of variable or random number when declaring a variable?

  newbie to MVC here. so please be gentle. I want to move one of our existing apps (currently located in http://www.companywebsitegoeshere.com/myapp1) to MVC. As can be seen in the URL, there are many apps running in the website which I intend to move at some stage. I don't have write access to the wwwroot (/var/www/html in my case) and the webserver is used by multiple developers across the company. I'm hoping I can have the MVC framework core files/folders + my app all located in in 1 subfolder. In the case of myapp1, all the filers and folders will be inside /var/www/html/myapp1 subfolder. Can you please point me to the right direction (links/guides/docs/videos/etc)? I've looked at several like cfwheels/mach-ii/fw1 but they seemed requires wwwroot access. Thanks! :)

  I am rendering a similar construct to the below with some server side code. The server side code inserts hard returns in between the project label and text fields. Not a big deal except the below jQuery code inserts the project label and text fields mashed together. var projectLabel = $('<label for="project">Project</label>'); var projectField = $('<input type="text" name="project" id="projectName" />'); projectLabel.insertBefore($(this)); projectField.insertBefore($(this)); Because of this discrepancy the elements rendered server side have a space between them while the ones rendered on the client do not. I've tried adding a nbsp; at the end of each line to no avail. Unfortunately, I have been unable to remove the hard returns outputted by the server side code. Further because of the space I can't fix this with CSS. What are my options for adding spacing via jQuery?

  The using keyword has three disparate meanings: type/namespace aliasing namespace import syntactic sugar for ensuring Dispose is called The documentation calls the first two definitions directives (which I'm guessing means they are preprocessing in nature), while the last is a statement. Regardless of the fact that they are distinguished by their syntaxes, why would the language developers complicate the semantics of the keyword by attaching three different meanings to it? • Use C function in C++ program; "multiply-defined" error

  I am trying to use this code for the Porter stemming algorithm in a C++ program I've already written. I followed the instructions near the end of the file for using the code as a separate module. I created a file, stem.c, that ends after the definition and has extern int stem(char * p, int i, int j) ... It worked fine in Xcode but it does not work for me on Unix with gcc 4.1.1--strange because usually I have no problem moving between the two. I get the error ld: fatal: symbol `stem(char*, int, int)' is multiply-defined: (file /var/tmp//ccrWWlnb.o type=FUNC; file /var/tmp//cc6rUXka.o type=FUNC); ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to cluster I've looked online and it seems like there are many things I could have wrong, but I'm not sure what combination of a header file, extern "C", etc. would work.
