  • Eclipse: view a document using custom spacing, save using the file's spacing

    I have a silly use case for eclipse: At work, they use 2 spaces for a tab character. Indentation looks really squashed and I'm finding it obstructs readability. Now, I can't set Eclipse to use 4 spaces for a tab as it'll edit any files I change, and obviously don't want to violate the coding standards. So, can I have a custom view onto my document, with saving maintaining the original spacing? Cheers

    Hi all, i would like to know what is the correct way to create a fullscreen view of a tabpage control. This page has other controls, and that controls has various events that are subscribed. I was trying creating a new fullscreen form and copy all controls of the tabs to that form, but with this approach i need to resubscribe every control to the corresponding handler. If i only add the references the subscription remains but when the fullscreen form is close also the referenced copied controls are lost.

    I am working on a solution that used DDD for architecture. I have a property in my ViewModel which points to a ValueObject, the view model also implements INotifyPropertyChanged interface. The value of the ValueObject will change as a user enters data on the front end. The problem I am running into is the value object is suppose to be immutable. How can I work around this issue?     Lets say I have a table as follows, +----+-------------+ | id | value | +----+-------------+ | 1 | aa,bb,cc,dd | | 2 | ee,ff,gg,hh | +----+-------------+ I want to be able to search this table to see if id = 1 AND value = 'cc'. Im assuming a good way of doing this is to grab the id = 1 row and split its values into separate rows in a new view. Something like, +-----+ | val | +-----+ | aa | | bb | | cc | | dd | +-----+ I would like to do all of this in MySQL. How can i do this, and is there possibly a better way to do it?

If my the full project tree looks like this: Project Root |-Feature1 | |-SubFeature11 | \-SubFeature12 |-Feature2 | |-SubFeature21 | \-SubFeature22 |-file1 \-file2 I want be able to checkout only subset like this: Project Root |-Feature1 | \-SubFeature12 |-Feature2 | \-SubFeature22 |-file1 \-file2 So do you know any version control system that allows to do selective checkout or a view on a repository?

    I know of an Eclipse feature to show revision information (gradual coloring, more info like revisionnumber, date and author on mouseover) for the last changes in a line in the linenumbers-view. Does anyone know how to activate this feature for a file, or even better, by default? I accidently hit some shortcut lately which made it show in one file, it does not show up in the others, though.
