  • VSS - Solution file between multiple users

    Hi folks, we have a solution with multiple projects that is being developed by a team of developers. Project paths in the solution file checked in initially contains the path that are specific to that developer. Now when another dev gets latest of the solution, some of the projects won't load as the path differs. What's a better way to manage this ? TIA

  • Using Fzip lib under Adobe Air App

    I'm currently working on a project for Adobe Air (1.5.3) and I need to unzip a file, copy some of its contents to another file. Then I saw people talking about the Fzip (http://codeazur.com.br/lab/fzip) lib. The problem is that I don't know how to "import" or use this library with Javascript and Adobe Air, since Javascript doesn't have the import directive. How can I manage to do that ?

    Hi, I have a product built out of multiple processes. Each process uses internally commons configuration. Does anyone have an idea how to manage the config? I.e. we do not want to duplicate variables so each process will be able to read them. Additionally, DB solution is no good, as we do not want to be dependent on DB for something like configuration.     using the delcarative_authorization gem for rails, is there a shortcut to allow a role access to all controller actions? privileges do # default privilege hierarchies to facilitate RESTful Rails apps privilege :manage, :includes => [:create, :read, :update, :delete] end isn't sufficient, because I have more controlling methods than just CRUD in my controllers. Something like: role :foo do has_permission_on :bar, :to =>[:all] end would be perfect, but I'm not finding it in the docs.

    Hi, I am trying to compress multiple files into a single zip archive and I am running into low memory warning. Since the complete zip file is loaded into the memory I guess that's the problem. Is there a way by which I can manage the compression/decompression better using ZipArchive so that not all the data is in the memory at once? Thanks!

    Is there a way to manage the window z-ordering of JDialog windows within java? I would like to able to assign each window to a layer such that windows on lower layers can never go above and obscure windows on higher layers. Even when they have focus. Similar to the Z-order capability that exists for components but for JDialog windows. The solution does not need to work across all OSes. A linux specific solution is acceptable.

Looking at user stories specifically the high level format seems to be: As a User I can Feature Description or Artifact is Doing Something How would I write "Upgrade the Database"? Is it simply Upgrade the Database? I think I am being thrown off as there is no specific actor/customer and that the customer is the IT department.

    I have inherited a SSIS project. I have never worked with SSIS before, and the one thing that seems strange to me, is that there is no way to manage multiple configurations. For each SSIS package we have 3 delpoyment environments, DEV, UAT and PRODUCTION. At the moment I am having to edit the configuration for every package we deploy manually for each change (and there are a lot of packages). Does anyone know of a more graceful way to handle these configuration changes?

  • two UserControls, one page, need to notify each other of updates

    I've got a user control thats used twice on the same page, each have the ability to be updated (a dropdown list gets a new item) and I'm not sure what might be the best way to handle this. One concern - this is an older system (~4+ years, datasets, .net2) and it is amazingly brittle. I did manage to have it run on 3.5 with no problems, but I've had a few run-ins with the javascript validation (~300 lines per page) throwing up all over the place when I change/add/modify controls in the parent.

As the chunks finish downloading they need to be written to a file so combined result is the file downloaded.
