    - by fabian
    The code below works as expected in FF but not in IEs... $(document).ready(function() { $('div.facet_dropdown select').live('change', function() { var changed_facet = $(this).attr('id'); var facets = $('select', $(this).closest('form')); var args = window.location.href.split('?')[0] + '?ajax=1'; var clear = false; for(var i = 0; i < facets.length; i++) { var ob = $(facets[i]); var val = ob.val(); if(clear) { val = ''; } args += '&' + ob.attr('id') + '=' + val; if(ob.attr('id') == changed_facet) { clear = true; } } $.getJSON(args, function(json) { for(widget_id in json) { var sel = '#field-' + widget_id + ' div.widget'; $(sel).html(json[widget_id]); } }); }); });

  • Passing Object From Controller to JavaScript JQuery

    - by TMan
    This is driving me crazy. All I'm trying to do is to pass in a Id to a ActionMethod which is working and have an Object be returned to the javascript. Then in javascript, I want to be able to say something like..Objec.Property, ie/ Student.Name, or Student.GPA. Any help is appreciated. I tried json but couldn't get that to work either. ActionResult: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public Epic GetEpicPropertyDetails(int id) { var Epictemplist = epicRepository.Select().Where(x => x.Id.Equals(id)); return Epictemplist.SingleOrDefault(); } javascript: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $(".ListBoxClass").click(function (event) { var selectedid = $(this).find("option:selected").val(); event.preventDefault(); $.get("/Estimate/GetEpicPropertyDetails", { id: selectedid }, function (result) { $(".TimeClass").val(result); }); }); }); </script> result.Name is obviously wrong I just dont know how to call this the right way.

  • JQuery\Javascript - Passing a function as a variable.

    - by Josh
    I was just curious if I could pass a function as a variable. For example: I have a function $('#validate').makeFloat({x:671,y:70,limitY:700}); I would like to do something like this: $('#validate').makeFloat({x:function(){ return $("#tabs").offset().left+$("#tabs").width();},y:70,limitY:700}); This does not work, but ideally every time the variable was accessed it would compute the new value. So if the window was resized it would automatically adjust as opposed to a variable passed in being static. I realize I can implement this directly inside the function\widget, but I was wondering if there was some way to do something like the above.

  • JSONP & jQuery Chunking

    - by Tom
    Hi Guys, I am wanting to utilize JSONP for a project with x-domain scripting but little concerned with the 2048 character limit in IE. Does JSONP support "chunking" automatically if character size exceeds 2048 ? If yes, does anyone have any examples they can share ? Thx

  • jquery: Toggle elements based on result from a function

    - by Svish
    I have a number of table rows that I would like to toggle the visibility of. They should be visible if a data item I have set on them earlier equals a selected value in a form. This is what I have so far: $('#category-selector').change(function(event) { var category_id = $(this).val(); if(!category_id) { $('tr', '#table tbody').show(); } else { $('tr', '#table tbody').toggle(); } }); Of course this just toggles them on and off. Thing is that I thought I was able to give toggle a function that would decide if each row should be on or off, but it turns out I can only give it a boolean condition which would be an all or nothing deal kind of... So, I have this function: function() { return $(this).data('category_id') == category_id; } How can I use that to go through all the rows and toggle them on or off? Or is there a better approach to this? What should I do?

  • Can I write this JQuery statement cleaner?

    - by Polaris878
    Hello, So I have the following: var box = $(".MyCheckBox"); if (box[0].checked) { // Do something } else { // Do something else } Is there a better way of doing this using filters or something? I know I can go: $(".MyCheckBox") .filter(function(index) { return this.checked; }) .each(function() { // do something }); But I need to do something in the else statement... easier way of doing this? • Jquery toggle using 2 elements

    - by user801773
    this is my script, I'm using a toggle so I can animate a sliding menu. $("div.show-menu").click().toggle( function() { // first alternation $("#slideover").animate({ right: "512px" }, 300); $(".menu-button").html('close menu'); }, function() { // second alternation $("#slideover").animate({ right: "0" }, 300); $(".menu-button").html('open menu'); }); Though I really need the toggle to work using 2 elements on the page. For example see below... <div class="show-menu one">open menu</div> // this is element one <div class="show-menu two">open menu</div> // this is element two I need it so, if element one get's click first, you can close the menu using element two on the first click. What is happening now is that you have to click element two twice in order for it to close the menu - vice versa I guess this is the toggle coming into play, any help would be great thanks. Cheers Josh

  • jQuery fadeOut() function doesn't ALWAYS work in Chrome, Firefox, IE

    - by user365568
    Sometimes, the slideshow on my website, which uses fadeOut and fadeIn to cycle through three main images, will fadeIn a new photo without fading in the old one. This doesn't happen every time the page loads though. My site is here (the slideshow will take 7 seconds to change): http://codersarepeople.com/v2/ The code I use is this: slideshow = new Array('#slideshow1','#slideshow2','#slideshow3'); var i = Math.floor(Math.random()*3); $(slideshow[i]).fadeIn(125); var t = setInterval(function() { $(slideshow[i%3]).fadeOut(250,function() { $(slideshow[(i+1)%3]).fadeIn(250); }); i++; },7000);

  • jQuery .hasClass method to omit effect

    - by Jonny Wood
    I've created a simple background effect for some tabs on a page but don't want that effect to fire if the tab has the class 'current'. I presume there is a way to do this using .hasClass Here's what I'm using for the effect: $('ul.htabs a').mouseover(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 -810px)"}, {duration:150}, {easing: 'easeOutCubic'}) }).mouseout(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 -806px)"}, {duration:150}, {easing: 'easeInCubic'}) });

  • jQuery Running a function in a context and adding to a variable

    - by Mark
    For this question I'm going to give a simplified example of what I want to do, and the function I want to learn to write. var collection = ''; <div id='container'> <span>1</span> <span>2</span> <span>3</span> </div> What I want to do this, for every span in the div, take its text, add it to the collection. So ideally it would look like: $('#container').addtoCollection(collection); The method would be something like: $(this).find('span').each(function () { collection = collection + $(this).text(); }). Where the first this would equal #container. So in the end you can do: console.log(collection); and get: 123 How do I write the function that does this? Thanks!
