PHP Undefined index - Occuring when the variable has a value in it

I have the following code that is being used to successfully upload images: $fileName = $_FILES['file']['name']; $fileSize = $_FILES['file']['size']; $fileType = $_FILES['file']['type']; $fileTmp = $_FILES['file']['tmp_name']; list($origWidth, $origHeight) = getimagesize($fileTmp); The catch is I'm getting an 'Undefined index' on each line. I have print_r($_FILES) just before this code and each array variable exists and I've echo out varibles like $fileName and can see each has a value. Also I have put this before this code block and it makes no difference: $fileName = $fileSize = $fileType = $fileTmp = ''; Any suggestions how I can ensure these variables are defined? thankyou

Unable to change two things about a single row in mysql with php

I'm currently writing up a function in order to validate a URL by exploding it into different parts and matching those parts with strings I've defined. What I would like to do check each part of the URL, starting with $tnet_2, and if it fails one of the checks ($tnet_2, $tnet_3, $tnet_5 or $tnet_7), output that it fails, and break out of the if statement. Is there an easy way to accomplish this using some of the code I have already?

I'm trying to construct a DateTime object with multiple accepted formats. According to the DateTime::createFromFormat docs, the first parameter (format) must be a string. I was wondering if there was a way to createFromFormats. In my case, I want the year for my format to be optional: DateTime::createFromFormat('Y-m-d', $date); DateTime::createFromFormat('m-d', $date); so that a user can input just 'm-d' and the year would be assumed 2013. If I wanted multiple accepted formats, would I have to call createFromFormat each time? Shortest thing for my scenario is: DateTime::createFromFormat('m-d', $date) ?: DateTime::createFromFormat('Y-m-d', $date);

I am checking the validation of the request with an if query, if ($request_userid == $userid) { ... } Thats working as expected. But further testing has shown, that if $request_userid or $userid is 0 or "", then the condition is true and the script runs the if query but it shouldn't. I am currently solving it with: if ($userid == "" ) { exit ("exit"); } But I don't think that this is the right way? Can you explain why it doesn’t work with the if query and what would be the correct way to check it?

I have I have a div called logo. I want the logo to be on top of other areas and to overlap into the the preface top of a drupal site, the logo currently sits in the header area. I looked up position absolute and I think that what I need to use but when I use position absolute the logo disappears, I can see it if I use position fixed, relative etc. I thought the logo was being hidden because I was not using a z-index but even with that I cant see the logo. Is there a better way to create a generic convert string to enum method or enum extension?

EnumType1.Unknown : (EnumType1)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType1), value, true)); } public static EnumType2 ConvertToEnumType2(string value) { return (string.IsNullOrEmpty(value)) ? EnumType2.Unknown : (EnumType2)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType2), value, true)); } public static EnumType3 ConvertToEnumType3(string value) { return (string.IsNullOrEmpty(value)) ? EnumType3.Unknown : (EnumType3)(Enum.Parse(typeof(EnumType3), value, true)); } } So the question here is, can I trim this down to an Enum extension method or maybe some type of single method that can handle any type. I have found some examples to do so with basic enums but the difference in my example is all the enums have the Unknown item that I need returned if the string is null or empty (if no match is found I want it to fail). Looking for something like the following maybe: EnumType1 value = EnumType1.Convert("Yes"); // or EnumType1 value = EnumHelper.Convert(EnumType1, "Yes"); One function to do it all... how to handle the Unknown element is the part that I am hung up on.

Nautilus and file command in 11.04 don't show metadata for WebM files

The file-name extension .webm is used for media files using the WebM multimedia format, which consists of the WebM container (a subset of the Matroska container) and audio and video streams with independet enconding and quality settings. Description of the issue: For files in the WebM format, the program file says that files are raw data, instead of determining and displaying the real file-format, which is WebM. Besides, Nautilus doesn't display the technical metadata of files in this format. Why is the file program not displaying the file format for WebM files?
