    Hi all I would like to perform an sql search and I would like to get best results. I tried some things but they didn't work well. I have got two columns named subject and content For example we will search "search this keywords" text on subject and content area. First I'm searching "search this keywords" then searching "search" and "this" and "keywords" I would like to retrieve subject's results on top and I would like to retrieve best results liking "search this keywords".My query sometimes works well sometimes not.   • Working with sets of rows in (My)SQL and comparing values

    Hello, I am trying to figure out the SQL for doing some relatively simple operations on sets of records in a table but I am stuck. Consider a table with multiple rows per item, all identified by a common key. For example: serial model color XX1 A blue XX2 A blue XX3 A green XX5 B red XX6 B blue XX1 B blue What I would for example want to do is: Assuming that all model A rows must have the same color, find the rows which dont. (for example, XX3 is green). Assuming that a given serial number can only point to a single type of model, find out the rows which that does not occur (for example XX1 points both to A and B) These are all simple logically things to do. To abstract it, I want to know how to group things by using a single key (or combination of keys) and then compare the values of those records. Should I use a join on the same table? should i use some sort of array or similar? thanks for your help

    I am trying to copy data from my MYSQL table to SQL Server using PHP. I have a TimeStamp value that needs to be copied. While I am trying to copy the fields, it gave an error that timestamp value cannot be inserted. Is there any way to insert the timestamp value? Is it is not possible, then declaring the column as nvarchar will insert the timestamp, but will I be able to search the data in a date range? Can anyone please clarify my doubt? Thanks.

I have been asked to do so by using SET based approach. I thought at one point I could create a Select Statement to build my custom data and use that as the datasource for my Insert Into statement. i.e. something like INSERT INTO MyCustomData (ColumnKey, Column1, Column2) From (Select Top 50000 Row_Count(), 'Custom Data 1', 'Custom Data 2') I know this doesn't work, but its the only thing I can show that seems to provide an example of what I'm after. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

    I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a file folder system in sql. I'm making a website that will be using similar system as explorer in windows. You open your c: drive and you see there some folders and files, and you open one folder and you see more files and folders there. So what i'm asking, would i use one table for this and just point to the parent id number or what ? I have this in my head.. You make a Primary folder, it gets the u_id=1. Then i make a file in that folder, it gets u_id=2 and p_id=1 so i know its there right? same with the folders. This would all be in one table but i cant help thinking there is some major flaw in this..

    I'm having difficulty creating a month-count select query in SQL. Basically, I have a list of entries, all of which have a date associated with them. What I want the end result to be, is a list containing 12 rows (one for each month), and each row would contain the month number (1 for January, 2 for February, etc), and a count of how many entries had that month set as it's date. Something like this: Month - Count 1 - 12 2 - 0 3 - 7 4 - 0 5 - 9 6 - 0 I can get an result containing months that have a count of higher than 0, but if the month contains no entries, the row isn't created. I get this result just by doing SELECT Month(goalDate) as monthNumber, count(*) as monthCount FROM goalsList WHERE Year(goalDate) = 2012 GROUP BY Month(goalDate) ORDER BY monthNumber Thanks in advance for the help!

    I am using SQL Server CE 3.5 and C# with the .NET Compact Framework 3.5. In my code I am inserting a row, then starting a transaction, then deleting that row from a table, and then doing a rollback on that transaction. But this does not undo the deletion. Why not?     I upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04, had no issues that I noticed. Recently tried to install something via software center, but it was throwing errors. Changed to trying to sudo apt-get install instead but again no luck. I've genuinely tried as much as I know to fix this, but I can't so I figured I'd ask here.     Possibly related to: SQL Server 2008 Install fails error reading etwcls.mof After manually removing MSSQL 2008 from my system (uninstall failed to remove two instances), I receive the following error when trying to re-install: The MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server. This is either because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI server to start. It seems that mofcomp is failing with one of the .mof files, but I'm not sure which, or why. Digging through the connect article gave some indications, but no solution. I've run winmgmt /salvagerepository, which returns "WMI repository is consistent". Currently, I'm unable to install MSSQL 2008. Please help!

Can anyone tell me where to find what I need installed on a (Non SQL Server box) client PC in order to run one of - SQLCmd, OSQL or ISQL - commands please, so I can execute the above SQL? Or is there are simpler way perhaps with out calling TSQL or without installing any SQL client tools.

  • SQL Server Express backup/restore error: The Media Family on Device is Incorrectly Formed.

    Basically, I'm having this issue: http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm What I'm doing is running a script I found online (http://pastebin.com/3n0ZfybL) to do a full backup, then rar'ing up the file and moving it to my computer. The CRC of the backup file inside the rar is correct on both computers, so there is no problem with data being corrupted when I transfer it. But then I go and try to restore the database on my dev computer here and I get the errors "sql server cannot process this media family" ... "msg 3013". Why is this happening? I'd test out the backup on the server I'm getting it from, but it's a production server.   • How do I solve MSSQL 2008 install error, "The MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server"?

    Possibly related to: SQL Server 2008 Install fails error reading etwcls.mof After manually removing MSSQL 2008 from my system (uninstall failed to remove two instances), I receive the following error when trying to re-install: The MOF compiler could not connect with the WMI server. This is either because of a semantic error such as an incompatibility with the existing WMI repository or an actual error such as the failure of the WMI server to start. It seems that mofcomp is failing with one of the .mof files, but I'm not sure which, or why. Digging through the connect article gave some indications, but no solution. I've run winmgmt /salvagerepository, which returns "WMI repository is consistent". Currently, I'm unable to install MSSQL 2008. Please help!

    I had to re-install plesk on a centos 6 system after a crash.   • Skype will not send/recieve messages to specific person (they will LAG)

    There is a similar question, but I tried changing audio settings. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and sometimes when talking to specific person it just doesn't send messages or receive them. It may even show that person as offline for few seconds (even if she/he is not). That may not depend on the other side, because it happened on Windows and Ubuntu box. There is a possiblity it's not really limited to skype and it's more of a wider problem, I'm not sure.

  • How to set up Zabbix to monitor SQL Server Failover Active-Passive Cluster?

    It should be simple, so it is just most likely my approach being totally off and someone will hopefully prod me into the right direction. We have a Zabbix 2.0.3 server instance set up monitoring a bunch of different servers, but now we need to set it up to monitor and notify any alerts in regards to the SQL Server 2008 R2 Failover Active-Passive cluster. Essentially, this is a 2 servers cluster, when only one of its nodes can be "active" at a given time, serving all SQL Server related requests, while the other server just "sleeps" and from the point of anyone logged on on that server - has all of the SQL Server related services in stopped state. We have tried setting up Zabbix agents on both servers, using SQL Server 2005 templates (we could not find any 2008 specific ones and the 2005 ones always seemed to be working just fine for monitoring 2008 R2 instances) and configuring Zabbix server for both of the servers, but we end up having constant alerts for the server being currently the passive one in the cluster. We have been able to look up various methods of actually monitoring the failover, but we have not been able to find any guidance in regards to how to instruct Zabbix, that in this particular case, only one of the servers in the group is expected to be in the online state, while the other can be just discarded and should not raise any alerts. I hope I made myself clear. Thanks for any guidance. I am out of ideas.
