• <audio> elements not working on WordPress

  Hello all, I have a small WordPress site. I do a lot of audio work and I'm trying to post HTML5 audio clips in blog entries on WordPress. For some reason it isn't working. It might have something to do with the style I'm using on my WordPress site but I haven't been able to nail it down. I know my audio tags are valid, as they work elsewhere. Here's an example audio tag: <audio src="http://files.dannystewart.com/dom2008.mp3"></audio> And here's a page demonstrating it not working: http://www.dannystewart.com/html5-audio-test/ I'm quite sure this is something very simple that I've just missed, but any pointers would be appreciated. • Right floated div within a liquid-width div. How do I get this to work?

  I have a div, within the div is a name in an <h4> tag (it's semantically correct with the layout) and a div with some values describing that <h4> value. I want the nested div to be on the right side, and the only way I can get this to work is a fixed-width container and float: right;. As you can guess, the object breaks when the value of the <h4> causes the nested div to overflow. I've tried min-width, but it ends up stretching to the maximum size of the div containing the container div.

• Conflict resolution merge commit seems incomplete

  There was a feature branch with conflicts. These were resolved and the resolution committed. Unfortunately, I botched the merge and a couple previously-released features regressed - this is verified by doing a diff between the merge commit sha1 and that of the previous tag. When I do git show <sha1 for merge commit> all changes are innocuous. When I do git log -Sunique_variable_added_for_feature_and_lost_after_botched_merge, I only see the commit that added unique_variable_... but not the problematic deletion from the bad merge. However, when I took the ignominious step of viewing the sha1 for the commit in a gui git client like Tower, I can clearly see the botched lines. Is there an additional switch used by Tower that I've missed entirely? Why didn't pickaxe pick up the deletion implicit in the merge commit?

• url rewriting + Asp.Net Login Form = Death

  Hi, on our site we do url rewriting to generate massive amounts of database generated pages. on every page, there is a Login control for users. like this: Internal aspx page: /DB.aspx?id=123 User visible url: /ABC/123.aspx, /ABC/456.aspx ... (url rewritten) unfortunately, the tag on each page has an action attribute of "DB.aspx?id=123". when the user clicks the button the browser is posting to /ABC/DB.aspx?id=123 which of course does not exist. solutions i tried: 1. change the action attribute by subclassing HtmlForm. this destroys the all other forms on the site. 2. remove the action attribute (so that the browser is always posting to the same url). this works on the rewritten pages but on "/" (the default.aspx in the root dir) i get a message that the verb post is not allowed on "/" (iis 6 and i have no control over mappings) anybody?

• Select in a many-to-many relationship in MySQL

  I have two tables in a MySQL database, Locations and Tags, and a third table LocationsTagsAssoc which associates the two tables and treats them as a many-to-many relationship. Table structure is as follows: Locations --------- ID int (Primary Key) Name varchar(128) LocationsTagsAssoc ------------------ ID int (Primary Key) LocationID int (Foreign Key) TagID int (Foreign Key) Tags ---- ID int (Primary Key) Name varchar(128) So each location can be tagged with multiple tagwords, and each tagword can be tagged to multiple locations. What I want to do is select only Locations which are tagged with all of the tag names supplied. For example: I want all locations which are tagged with both "trees" and "swings". Location "Park" should be selected, but location "Forest" should not. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

  I bought a responsive html5 template to create a website for my band. But I miss a page of tour dates, and would create a unique content, simple and quick to load on any device. I have the idea ready, something like buttons (months) to change on hover and when clicked, shows the dates and cities, all with transitions and fadein / fadeout. • Nokogiri Not Parsing File

  I'm using Nokogiri to parse pepXML files from different peptide search engines. I have two pepXML files, both of which appear, inasmuch as I can tell, to be of correct format, and puts Nokogiri::XML(IO.read(file)) will output the whole XML file for both files. The problem is, doc.xpath("any valid xpath") will parse the tag from one of the files, but not the other. No errors are given, so I have no idea why it won't parse. Anyone know of any reasons why Nokogiri wouldn't parse something out?

That website is doing it in plain <script> tag, so it is impossible to bypass it by overriding the onload event using document.body.setAttribute('onload','');.   My UI is not updating when I expect it to. The application displays "projects" using a view similar to iTunes -- a source list on the left lets you filter a list (NSTableView) on the right. My filters update properly when they are examining any simple field (like name, a string), but not for arrays (like tags). I'm removing a tag from one of my objects (from an NSMutableArray field called "tags") and I expect it to disappear from the list because it no longer matches the predicate that is bound to my table's NSArrayController. • Loading non-RJS javascript via ajax in Rails

  I've written a rails module that generates some javascript for a google map. As the user makes changes on the webpage, I use observe_field to call back to the server to regenerate the map's javascript (without updating the whole page). I'm having trouble finding a good way to insert the new javascript into the page. I've tried <div id='my_div_1'>div1</div> <%= update_page_tag do |page| page.replace_html 'my_div_1', "<script>alert('hi');</script>" end %> but it seems that replace_html only works for non-script html. It chokes when the content includes the closing < /script tag.   In my edit.haml file, I have =render :partial => 'old_question_tags', :locals => {:current_question => @question.id}. I'd like to pass the value in :current_question to a link_to_remote call in _old_question_tags.haml: #{link_to_remote image_tag('red-x.png', {:alt => "Remove #{t.name} tag"}), :url => {:action => 'remove_old_tag_from_question', :tag_remove => t.id, :current_question => current_question}} But I get this error on the link_to_remote line: ActionView::TemplateError (undefined local variable or method `current_question' for #<ActionView::Base:0xdb2fec8>) In _old_question_tags.haml, if I just print current_question (using =current_question), it prints the number without any problems. How do I properly pass that value to the partial so that I can pass it to the link_to_remote call?

• n00b: receive input over TCP/IP and use it to update HTML

  This has got to be a FAQ, so can someone please just direct me to a "network programming for dummies" URL? The server wants to push information to a client or broadcast to all, when an event happens - as opposed to the clients constantly polling the server "just in case". The client then updates a browser page display. How do I do that? (toldya it was a n00b question) Should I have a thread which receives info on a socket and then writes it to a database which the browser display (PHP) can process with an HTML refresh tag, or what? Sorry to sound so dumb.

• Google map blank when used with master page

  I wrote a google map lookup page. Everthing worked fine until I referenced the page to use a master page. I removed the form tag from the master page as the search button on the map page is a submit button. Everything else on my page appears but the google map div appears with map navigation controls and logo but no map visuals appear. I retested with the previous, non master page version and the map appears correctly. Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

  Hi, I am working on customizing the ajax html editor. I got succeded when i use VS 2008/10 selecting the "Web Site" as the template to create my asp.net application. But the same is not working when i create an asp.net application with Web Applications as the template. The problem i am facing here is, when we try to customize any editor, we will create a custome class "MyCustomeEditor", using which we will create the customized editor on our webforms. This is working fine when i am working with Web Sites. In web application, it is not even trying to identify the control, ie, is not a server tag. If, anyone knows any solution how to troubleshoot this problem, please shread some information on this. Thanks, Kiran

• Why does some images not display in different browsers?

  I've unreal problem. I have a site, where are displaying images over an classical <img> tag. All images are loading from the database, where is URL column of the image. My problem is that three of ten images are not display. But if I open the source code and click at the URL of the image, I can see image. In source code is some looks like (just for a simple example): <img src = "http://some.image/1.jpg" alt = "description" height = "140" width = "187" /> But the biggest snag is that Opera displays all images correct, but just in FF, IE, Chrome are mentioned problems. I can not provide a screenshots, because the pages are a bit perverse. How can I show the site where the problem is? Or some advice? Thank you.

  Hello, I am unable to render Chinese characters in IE 8. I have researched this and I am aware of the meta tag to force compatibility mode. I am also aware of the language pack you can install. Finally I have seen that Microsoft actually forces IE7 compatibility mode on their Chinese website. http://www.microsoft.com/zh/cn/default.aspx I am wondering if anyone has any alternatives solutions to this problem. So the user can modify the values and then save it in the excel sheet. • Prototype and jQuery concatenation failure

  I found something strange when trying to concatenate prototype and jQuery. It seems as though when concatenated, the $ jquery reference doesn't get overwritten by prototype. I've built two test cases to single this out, and it's failing in Chrome8 and FF 3.6. Test Case 1 - Without Concatenation jQuery and Prototype are loaded separately with different script tags. jQuery is loaded first, Prototype second. Test Case 2 - With Concatenation jQuery and Prototype are concatenated into a single file, and loaded with a single script tag. jQuery is first in the script, and prototype is added second. These should act identically, but the second test is throwing errors because the $ function in prototype doesn't overwrite the $ jquery reference. Did I set these up wrong, or are browsers rendering javascript differently when it's all in the same file?
