  One of my clients uses Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security to protect their internal mail services. Suddenly InterScan decided to filter out all messages coming from Google App Engine. Unfortunately they haven't been able to whitelist the sender address as each e-mail gets a different one. For example, *3ckihSOVMMHlZHSL.JSMMHlZHSL.JS*@apphosting.bounces.google.com, with everything before the @ being variable. Update I'm including this screenshot of how Interscan sees the incoming e-mail. Notice that all senders are different: If I look into the e-mail headers, the apphosting domain appears inside the Return-Path field: Return-Path: <36kSiSwYIBh0883XL3E7.5EH883XL3E7.5E@apphosting.bounces.google.com> The "From" field looks ok. It says what I set it to say, but the spam filter only looks at the Return-Path. My client sysadmin doesn't want to whitelist the whole apphosting domain, as it wouldn't be only whitelisting my application. How could I bypass this e-mail filters if I can't get an unique sender? • VB.NET For Each steps into loop body for an IEnumerable collection! How? Why?

  This is weird. I have a class that inherits from IEnumrable whose Count property is reporting 0 (zero) elements but the For Each loop steps into the loop body and tries to use the variable where it should just be moving on. My code: On Error Resume Next Dim d As Foo For Each d In fooCollection ' use d and throws an exception Next d Weirder still, every time d is accessed i get an exception thrown in the output window: A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' but i'm not stopping on the exception (not in a try/catch block). Is "On Error Resume Next" causing this weirdness? Weirdness found: Per Rowland's and JohnH's comments i checked the Foo class: The GetEnumerator method inside of Foo didn't actually return anything! It had an empty body. That coupled with the On Error Resume Next before the loop caused the havoc! Wow this was ugly. Thanks for the clues guys!

  I'm trying to test for memory leaks in my iphone and I'm not having much luck getting rid of this one. The self.settingManager instance variable is released in the dealloc method of the class. I'm not sure what other information would be pertinent. Please let me know and I can provide it. I will place all the require information in a javascript variable or array at the bottom of the page. Then I will use javascript to place the content in the designated area. These are the types of things I would like javascript to render: Login menu Header and logo info Side bar info Footer info Dialog popups Ads All of the MEAT content will not be rendered by javascript. I will use the backend server to put the content in html. My logic is that more of the real content will be in HTML and all the other things will be rendered by javascript. • Which async call use for DB connection and still responsive GUI?--

  Hi, My application connects to MSSQL but sometimes it takes a while and the GUI is getting frozen. I would like to do the connection on the other thread, I guess BeginInvoke would be the best way (I know about background worker but I would like to learn this). I have studied MSDN page but I did not understand what is the best way to use? They also say that you can use only callback when the thread that called the async.method does not need to know the results...I dont understand it as I believe I can set some variable in the other thread to "pass" the result well. I would just need the GUI to be not frozen while the connection is being established. Thank you for your advice.

I'm designing an interpreter with the goal for the VM to be extremely fast, much faster than Ruby and Python, for example. Now I know that premature optimization "is the root of all evil" but this is rather a conceptual problem. I have to use some sort of struct to represent all values in my language (from number over string to list and map) Would the following be possible? struct Value { ValueType type; void* value; } I would store the actual values elsewhere, e.g: a separate array for strings and integers, value* would then point to some member in this table. I would always know the type of the value via the type variable, so there wouldn't be any problems with type errors. Now: Is this even possible in terms of syntax and typing?

  In my latest code, I have an event handler for a focus on a textarea. When the user clicks on the textarea, that event-handler is triggered which sets some other DOM states based on the selected textarea. However, elsewhere in my program I want to programmatically set the focus of the textarea without triggering that event handler. I know Backbone, for instance, has a way to silently perform an action. My only pseudo-solution is to temporarily set a variable: var silence = true; And then, in my event handler, only perform the logic if silence is false. The handler is still triggered, but the logic doesn't run. Does anyone else know of better strategies for this?

I am trying to write a function that will read the data from these log files into a data frame ignoring the summary information. The problem is that I'm trying to use a variable with ::ldap::add and it's just not working.
