    Hi, could you kindly share your emacs dot-files for web development that works with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and if possible with Python Django. I really need complete setup. I looked nXhtml and its good on some parts (html code completion works but sucks on indentation and CSS code completion does not work and says tag table is empty most cases. I really need something that works: code completion works out of the box, git integration and pretty indentation and supports multi-mode for mixed HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP code.

  • Cannot share files on USB drive between Windows 98 and Windows 2000

    I've run into a strange situation where I can't share files between Windows 98 and Windows 2000 using a USB flash drive. Files I put on the Win98 machine can be read by that machine, but not by the Win2k machine. And likewise, I can add and read files on that drive from the Win2k machine, but those files don't appear on the drive when accessed from the Win98 machine. Anyone have ideas as to what could be the cause of this?

  • Save a shortcut to a samba share in KDE

    Using Dolphin in KDE I have opened a particular (password protected) samba share, by typing in the IP address and navigating to the right folder. However I can't find any way to save this location for future use (other than saving the URL to a text file and copy-pasting it into Dolphin). I would be happy with some kind of bookmark in Dolphin or a desktop shortcut, etc.

    During an aborted TFS import (2008 into 2010), I have managed to "lose" a database in 2008. The database is not visible in Management Studio, but the SQL Server exe has a handle on the .mdf file (according to UnLocker), it says it cannot attach it because the file is in use and it cannot attach a copy of the file (created when SQL Server was stopped), as it says a DB of the same name is already attached. Given I am using the same TFS admin account I have always used and have always been able to see the database in, why is this database missing and, more importantly, how do I get it back again?

    Hello! I want to keep my blog in subfolder domain_com/htdocs/blog and access it using blog.domain.com. I can obtain it using apache's mod_rewrite: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^blog\.domain\.com RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^/blog RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /blog/$1 [L] But I also want to redirect hxxp://domain.com/blog to hxxp://blog.domain.com (simply because I want to hide it from users). Simple redirection like: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^wojtyniak\.com$ RewriteRule %{REQUEST_URI} ^/foo RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://foo.wojtyniak.com [L,R=301] causes redirection loop.     I have a Samba share on my NAS drive mounter as follows: mount -t smbfs -o username=backup,password=backups_password //sharebox/SVNBackup /mnt/SVNBackup I am then trying to run: sudo svnadmin dump /usr/local/svn/repos/testrepo > /mnt/SVNBackup/test1.svn but I get: bash: /mnt/SVNBackup/test1.svn: Permission Denied The backup location is setup to accept access only from the user "backup" (who doesn't exist on the local system) How do I go about solving this problem?   • Address book software that knows people share addresses

    I'm a bit frustrated with Outlook and Google contacts, as neither understand that people share addresses, or that one address can represent several people. So you either have crappy custom fields like "Bill's mobile", "Jane's mobile", or you have a Bill and a Jane contact, and you have to keep the address updated between the two. Are the any decent, and simple, address book applications out there which have this kind of intelligence? Note: this is for home use, I don't need to do professional 'contact management'.

    We're moving all our Mac's from local logins to OpenDirectory logins in an effort to keep everything secure and to also solve issues we have with a Tiger server buggering permissions on an AFP shared drive. To cut it short, I want users to be able to login to their OpenDirectory account and I then want the AFP share point to mount using the credentials they just logged in with.     I've created a text file from an application that I developed. When I send the text file to a SYSTEM Validation, they (3rd Party System) say that the file is invalid and that the file contains 3 characters in the beginning of the file that are not allowed as well special characters are not correct. They also say I need to use either ISO 8859-1 or PC850 Well, I'm using Notepad++ and I can't see that at all! What is the best text file reader for this kind of problems? EDITED I also have a Mac and just thought I remembered opening in TextMate ... WOW! Now I know what they are talking about! How can I have the same in Windows?

    Background Using LaTeX to write a book. When a user purchases the book, the PDF will be generated automatically. Problem The PDF should have a watermark that includes the person's name and contact information. Question What software meets the following criteria: Applies encrypted, undetectable watermarks to a PDF Open Source Platform independent (Linux, Windows) Fast (marks a 200 page PDF in under 1 second) Batch processing (exclusively command-line driven) Collusion-attack resistant Non-fragile (e.g., PDF - EPS - PDF still contains the watermark) Well documented (shows example usages) Ideas & Resources Some thoughts and findings: Natural language processing (NLP) watermarks. Apply steganography on a randomly selected image. http://openstego.sourceforge.net/cmdline.html The problem with NLP is that grammatical errors can be introduced. The problem with steganography is that the images are sourced from an image cache, and so recreating that cache with watermarked images will impart a delay when generating the PDF (I could just delete one image from the cache, but that's not an elegant solution).   • Hidden characters inserted after pipe (|) followed by a space

    Very often, on my Mac, when I use the pipe (|) character followed by a space character, an invincible character will be inserted in between. This is especially annoying when using the terminal, as it makes commands invalid. If I type the following in iterm2, I often get the following: ls | cat zsh: command not found:  cat If I hit the up-arrow-key to get my previous command, and then remove and reinsert the space between | and cat, the command will work. When I copy paste the working and non working commands into a file, like this: non-working: ls | cat working: ls | cat and open it in Hex Fiend it shows the following: non-working: ls |¬†cat working: ls | cat I've also experienced the same kind of issue in SublimeText2 using the square brackets ([]) followed by a space. So I don't believe its an issue with iTerm2.

    I am trying to reproduce the file structure of my VPS on my mac locally, so that it's easier for me to test websites in a local development environment to do this I would need have a /home folder at the root level of the hard drive using panic transmit I can see that there is already a volume called home at the root level can I store other files and folders in here to set up my local web server? sorry if this is a dumb question folks
