• Switch to another CPanel server, restore mailbox, how to stop Outlook POP3 pull mail data again.

  Hi, We switch from a linux CPanel server to another CPanel server, all the setting and file is restore back to the new Linux CPanel server. E.g xxx@xxx.com , inside the server I got 100mails. It had been downloaded to my Outlook, my outlook also got 100 mails inside. After I switch to new server, the 100 mail in the old server had been transfer to new server. However, when I open my Outlook, it start to download the 100 mails again, that means I got 200 mails in my mailbox and it is duplicated. How can I stop Outlook to download. The time stamp, receiver and sender is exactly the same. We want to keep a backup in the server, because we don't have a physical server to keep the mail. That why we would like to transfer the mailbox to the new server. Anyone have solution to stop Outlook download again?

• Is there a way to convert a list of cc'es to a distribution list in Outlook?

  In Outlook 2003, I find myself frequently sending emails to the same group of people all working on a project. I'd like to find a simple way to convert the list of addresses in an email that I would "reply all" to into an Outlook distribution list for future use. I know how to create Outlook distribution lists, that's not my question. But the normal process that I see in Outlook requires adding the names to the list one by one. If I have an email with a large "reply all" list is there any way to take that whole list all at once (including many email addresses not otherwise already in my Outlook contacts) and convert it to a distribution list in one step? Trying to google for this answer got me many, many pages of instructions on how to create a distribution list, but I can't seem to find the search term to locate an answer on how to convert a list of address.

  I've been trying to get an answer to this question on other forums (the folks at SuperUser thought this was the place I needed to post) and via my connections, but I haven't gotten very far. Hopefully you guys can help me find an answer: I've got a dozen old subdomains that have been indexed by Google. These have been indexed as both http AND https. I've managed to redirect all the subdomains properly, provided they are not https, but can't get any of the https subdomains to property redirect. Here's the code I'm using: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain1.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain2.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^subdomain3.mysite.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] This works great until someone goes to: https://subdomain2.mysite.com$ which is not redirected back to http://www.mysite.com$ How can I get this to work? • Need Workaround for Outlook 2007 HTML Email Rendering Bug (Horizontal Gaps)

  My html email newsletter design doesn't render properly in Outlook 2007. There is a white horizontal gap towards the bottom which breaks borders and backgrounds. I've had this happen before and have no idea how to work around it. Any suggestions? I've posted the source here. It renders just fine except in Outlook 2007 (Word 2007). By the way, you can preview the problem without Outlook, by opening the source with Word 2007.

  Hi I'm developing a Smart card Minidriver and I'm trying to Sign an Email using Outlook 2007. I have implemented all of the necessary functions in the minidriver. I'm able to create a "Smartcard User" certificate and save it and it's private key on the smartcard (using Microsoft Certificate Services via the Minidriver). When I try to sign an EMail via Outlook I'm getting Error Message (Internal Error), the last call to the minidriver is for ReadFile with "cmapfile" When I try to sign an EMail via Outlook with a difference non-smartcard certificate it's work fine. When I try to sign a Data using CryptoAPI (based on Windows SDK Sample) it's working fine. I'm using Windows 7. someone got any idea how to debug this issue? I tried to enable the CAPI2 eventlog, it don't give me any good information.

• C# Class Library wont register for COM

  Hello All, I am trying to gain access to a .NET class library in Microsoft Excel. To do this I know that the .NET class library must be registered with COM. So I tried going to my Assembly Info and Setting COM Visible to true. Then on the build tab I set Register for COM Interop for true also. I checked the AssemblyInfo.cs file and it does contain [assembly: ComVisible(true)]. But for some reason when I try to add a reference to the Class Lib in Excel the namespace does not show up in the list. I made a quick test Class library with nothing in it and did the same thing (set COM Vis = true , and Register For COM Interop = true) and that one does show up on the list of available references. I can't figure out what the difference is between the two classes. I am not sure if my class is actually being registered for COM interop or not. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this???

• VSTO Outlook project

  I currently have an Outlook 2007 VSTO plug-in which needs to write certain values into the registry. I am programmitically downloading and installing a new stationery into Outlook by saving a htm file into the users App Data folder and then updating the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings\NewTheme registry key which sets which stationery that is currently in use. So far everything is fine for 2007, but I have checked a PC that is running Outlook 2010, and this registry key is in a different spot. Instead of 12.0 as the version it is 14.0, which makes sense. Is there anyway I can determine what version the plugin is installed in, so that I can write the key based on the correct version in the correct location?!? I haven't been able to find anything on this so far, but surely there is a way..?!? Thanks in advance. Chris

  I have a ClickOnce app that used to be run by users with Power User privileges. So to integrate to outlook (e.g. syncing of emails, appointments and addresses) I used a 3rd party component from Add-In Express, which includes an ActiveX DLL. So when the user would download my app, I'd register the ActiveX DLL (if it wasn't already registered) and then would just interop with it in the application. Well, now the users had their privileges changed to standard limited User. Which means that they can't register DLLs (since it writes to the registry keys that are off limit). And the integration with Outlook fails, of course. What are some of options to integrate with Outlook for my situation?

  I have a COM object written in managed code (C++/CLI). I am using that object in standard C++. How do I force my COM object's destructor to be called immediately when the COM object is released? If that's not possible, call I have Release() call a MyDispose() method on my COM object? I would think I could do it by overriding the Release(), and if the object count = 0 then call MyDispose(). Obviously, I can make this happen by putting my MyDispose() method in the interface and requiring the people using my object to call MyDispose() before Release(), but it would be slicker if Release() just cleaned up the object. Is it possible to force the .NET COM object's destructor, or some other method, to be called immediately when a COM object is released? Googling on this issue gets me a lot of hits telling me to call System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(), but of course, that's how you tell .NET to release a COM object. I want COM Release() to Dispose of a .NET object.

  In Sharepoint, i have a Forms Library. I would like to connect it to oulook. The problem is that once I do that, Outlook will display the forms in a .XML rendering...a bunch of text, not very user friendly. (I am using Sharepoint 2010, InfoPath 2010, Outlook 2010) Am I missing some kind of settings? How can I display the forms in Outlook in a rendered type of view. (I have tried this with Forms that open in Browser, as well as with Forms that open in Client application, with the same results for both.)

  I am working on writing a OMS implementation. I have verified that service is compliant with the service and schema definitions. When trying to set up the account in Outlook 2007 to test the service, it allows me to use an https address, but not an http address. According to the documentation (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb277363.aspx) "The URL of the OMS Web service can be either http or https, but it is https if not otherwise specified" I have not been able to find any doucmentation that would explain why Outlook will not even let me try to do anything in the wizard if the service url does not start with https. The error that it returns when a http address is entered is: The web service address is incorrect or corrupted. Check the web service address or contact your administrator I have also tried creating a temporary cert on my local machine to test the service, but outlook is rejecting the cert because it is not valid. Is there any way to test the service or run it over http?

  We currently have a java/jsp online web service that includes it's own custom calendar. I am trying to do some research into the possibility of connecting it to a users outlook. Our basic needs that are most simple is some way to sent the person a meeting request that can be added to their outlook from our service. I know the ideal solution is to sync back and forth but simply being able to import the data from our calendar into someone's outlook would be sufficient.   Relevant Specs: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 Outlook 2010 Version 14.0.7116.5000 (32-bit) Original Symptom: In outlook, I attempted to search for an email but nothing ever returned and the indicator kept going like it was searching. Attempted Resolutions: I investigated the search options and with some research noticed the Windows Service "Windows Search" (SearchIndexer.exe) was not running. I attempted to start it but I receive this error message: "Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly." We also tried the Microsoft Utility to no avail. Has anyone seen this issue before?

• How to Add a Business Card Image to a Signature in Outlook 2013 Without the vCard (.vcf) File

  When you add a business card to a signature, an image of the business card is inserted into the signature and the vCard (.vcf) file is attached. If you don’t want to attach the vCard file, you can insert the image only into your signature. To insert only the image of your business card without the .vcf file, click People on the Navigation Bar at the bottom of the Outlook window. To get a business card image we can use, we must view the contacts in any form other than People, so we can open the full contact editing window. To do this, click on a different view in the Current View section of the Home tab. We chose to view our contacts in the Business Card format. Double-click on your contact in the current view. The full contact editing window displays with an image of the business card on the right. Right-click on the business card image and select Copy Image from the popup menu. To close the contact editing window, click the File tab and click Close in the menu list on the left. NOTE: You can also click the X in the upper, right corner of the contact editing window to close it. To open the signature editor, click the File tab. Click Options in the menu list on the left side of the Account Information screen. On the Outlook Options dialog box, click Mail in the list of options on the left side of the dialog box. On the Mail screen, click Signatures in the Compose messages section. NOTE: You can also access the Signatures and Stationery dialog box from the Message window for new emails and drafts. Click New Email on the Home tab or double-click an email in the Drafts folder to access the Message window. For more information, see our article about assigning a default signature. In the signature editor, right-click and select Paste from the popup menu. The image is inserted into the signature. You can also use this method to copy a business card image for use in other documents and programs. It’s also possible to insert the vCard (.vcf) file into a signature without the image. • How do you optimize your Outlook Exchange + IMAP setup?

  My company provides an Outlook/Exchange account we must use for mail/calendar. Like many companies, they unfortunately also provide a ridiculously small mail quota. I got tired of managing and backing up .pst files (since I'm always in my e-mail there is never a good time to back it up), so I started storing my archived mail "in the cloud", using an IMAP server I set up on my Linux box. This has a few drawbacks for me: IMAP (at least the implementation in Outlook) is *very slow*. Furthermore, if I move a large number of messages to the IMAP server, it blocks the entire Outlook client for hours sometimes, which is quite annoying. Can't use exchange over HTTP to do mail without launching a VPN session, because the client-side rules I have which organize my mail fail and disable the rule if the IMAP server can't be reached. If I reply to a message from my IMAP store, I have to specify a SMTP server willing to relay for me in order to send e-mail, unless I always remember to select my Exchange account while composing e-mail. ... but the main advantage of being very easy to back up, with a couple of cron jobs that essentially do an 'rsync'. Short of moving the IMAP server to my local host (which seem like might have the same file locking problems as using a .pst), my options seem limited for solving (1). I'd like to come up with a solution for (2) and (3) though. For problem (2) would it be possible to somehow tell Outlook that the IMAP server is "offline", and have it synchronize my changes during a periodic "send and receive"? If so, I wonder if it would block the Outlook client, like it does in problem (1), and if it would be compatible with the client-only rules I use to sort my mail into folders. I've looked all over the options menu and have not found a way to tell Outlook to not use a certain account for sending mail, which would solve (3). Is anyone else crazy enough to be doing something like this? Any ideas?
