  • Printing double variable contents

    - by Adil
    I tried following code snippet and output is surprising me: #include <stdio.h> #include <math.h> int main() { double num; unsigned char ch; ch = 19; num = 1.0E+20 ; num += ch * 1.0E+18; printf("E18 = %lf \n",num); printf("E18 = %e \n",num); num = 11.0E+21 ; num += ch * 1.0E+19; printf("E19 = %lf <------\n",num); printf("E19 = %e <------\n",num); num = 11.0E+22 ; num += ch * 1.0E+20; printf("E20 = %lf\n",num); printf("E20 = %e\n",num); num = 11.0E+23 ; num += ch * 1.0E+21; printf("E21 = %lf\n",num); printf("E21 = %e\n",num); num = 11.0E+24 ; num += ch * 1.0E+22; printf("E22 = %lf <------\n",num); printf("E22 = %e <------\n",num); return 0; } The output of the program: E18 = 119000000000000000000.000000 E18 = 1.190000e+20 E19 = 11190000000000000524288.000000 <------ E19 = 1.119000e+22 <------ E20 = 111900000000000001048576.000000 E20 = 1.119000e+23 E21 = 1119000000000000044040192.000000 E21 = 1.119000e+24 E22 = 11189999999999999366660096.000000 <------ E22 = 1.119000e+25 <------ Why the data corrupted when printed while in exponent form its OK

  • Create a string with the result of an expression and the expression that originated the value. Is it

    - by Oscar Reyes
Like String r = SomeThing.toExecString("new Object().toString()"); And when executed the value of r would be: "new Object().toString() = java.lang.Object@c5e3974" Is this even possible at all? Would it need a bunch of reflection? A built in compiler maybe? AFAIK, this is not possible with regular Java. The closest thing I could get is IDE support like in IDEA with the "macro" soutv+tab that prints: Hit taband type the expression The IDE types the rest for you. But that's quite another completely thing.

  • Are there any command line tools for controllable XML formatting?

    - by Scott Stafford
Hi - I am searching for a command-line tool (or XSLT technique, or C# code that can be made into a command-line tool, etc) for Windows that will do XML pretty-printing. Specifically, I want one that has the ability to put attributes one-to-a-line, something like: <Node> <ChildNode value1='5' value2='6' value3='happy' /> </Node> It doesn't have to be EXACTLY like that, but I want to use it for an XML file that has nodes with dozens of attributes and spreading them across multiple lines makes them easier to read, edit, and text-diff.

  • JQuery printfunction: no content, no view

    - by Joris
I got a JQuery printfunction: function doPrintPage() { myWindow = window.open('', '', 'titlebar=yes,menubar=yes,status=yes,scrollbars=yes,width=800,height=600'); myWindow.document.open(); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById("studentnummer").value); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById("Voornaam").value + " " + document.getElementById("Tussenvoegsel").value + " " + document.getElementById("Achternaam").value); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Result"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab1').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Tree"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab2').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Open"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab3').innerHTML); myWindow.document.write("</br>"); myWindow.document.write("Free"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab4').innerHTML); myWindow.document.close(); myWindow.focus(); } There are 3 gridviews (elements in "tab#"), and on the page that is generated by this script, eacht gridview gets a header (Results, Tree, Open, Free). It is possible that there is no gridview for "Tree". It would be nice if the "tree" header wouldn't be shown either. EDIT: I tried this: if ($('tab4')[0]) {myWindow.document.write("Free"); myWindow.document.write(document.getElementById('tab4').innerHTML); but it seems not to work either... Anyone knows the solution?

  • How do you save rows to an array and print out in PHP using ODBC?

    - by johnny
I have the following: while($myRow = odbc_fetch_array( $result )){ <--lots of rows $thisResult['name'] = $myRow["name"] ; $thisResult['race'] = $myRow["race"] ; $thisResult['sex'] = $myRow["sex"]; $thisResult['dob'] = $myRow["dob"]; } I can't figure out how to print this back out. I want to get each row and iterate through each row in the array like a datareader. I'm not sure what to do. I do not want to do the echo in the while. I need to be able to print it out elsewhere. But I don't think I've done it right here to be able to print it later. I also tried, this, however: while($myRow = odbc_fetch_array( $result )){ <--lots of rows print($thisResult[$myRow["name"]] = $myRow); } I then tried: while($myRow = odbc_fetch_array( $result )){ <--lots of rows print (odbc_result($myRow,"name")); } but got an error. Thank you for any help.

  • Wanted: Command line HTML5 beautifier

    - by blinry
Wanted A command line HTML5 beautifier running under Linux. Input Garbled, ugly HTML5 code. Possibly the result of multiple templates. You don't love it, it doesn't love you. Output Pure beauty. The code is nicely indented, has enough line breaks, cares for it's whitespace. Rather than viewing it in a webbrowser, you would like to display the code on your website directly. Suspects tidy does too much (heck, it alters my doctype!), and it doesn't work well with HTML5. Maybe there is a way to make it cooperate and not alter anything? vim does too little. It only indents. I want the program to add and remove line breaks, and to play with the whitespace inside of tags. DEAD OR ALIVE!

  • PHP equivalent to Perl format function

    - by Dustin Hansen
Is there an equivalent to Perl's format function in PHP? I have a client that has an old-ass okidata dotmatrix printer, and need a good way to format receipts and bills with this arcane beast. I remember easily doing this in perl with something like: format BILLFORMAT = Name: @>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Age: @### $name, $age . write; Any ideas would be much appreciated, banging my head on the wall with this one. O.o

  • Customising the .NET PrintPreviewDialog?

    - by Gary Willoughby
Currently i'm using the PrintPreviewDialog to open a window to preview the printed pages before they are sent to a printer. The problem is though that it first appears very small, at the top left of the screen and the buttons are too small. Is there anyway i can set a starting size for this dialog or start position or even make the little buttons a little bigger? Or do i need to implement my own?

  • How do I prevent a pair of XMLEvent[Reader|Writer] from splitting empty tags into start+end tags?

    - by java.is.for.desktop
Hello, everyone! I have an understanding problem of how the following code works: XMLInputFactory xif = XMLInputFactory.newFactory(); XMLOutputFactory xof = XMLOutputFactory.newFactory(); XMLEventReader reader = xif.createXMLEventReader(/* ... */); XMLEventWriter writer = xof.createXMLEventWriter(/* ... */); writer.add(reader); The method writer.add([some reader]) reads all events from reader and writes them consequently. Sadly, following happens: The input <root><c/></root> gets transformed to <root><c><c/></root> I know, from XML point of view, these are equal trees, but not for a human ;) What can I do to get the same output? FYI: I need a XMLEvent[Reader|Writer] pair later to filter "XML events".

  • threading.Event wait function not signaled when subclassing Process class

    - by user1313404
For following code never gets past the wait function in run. I'm certain I'm doing something ridiculously stupid, but since I'm not smart enough to figure out what, I'm asking. Any help is appreciated. • How can I wait for the image to load in my new window before printing via child.print()?

    - by libertas
$("#print").on('click', function () { var child = window.open("image.jpg", "_blank", "location=0,toolbar=0,scrollbars=1,fullscreen=1,menubar=0"); //any way to know/wait for image to load? child.print(); }); Any way for my parent window to know that the child window has completed loading the image prior to calling .print()? If they were trigger happy they would end up printing a blank page. I've tried both: child.attachEvent("onload", function () { child.print(); }); and child.attachEvent("DOMContentLoaded", function () { child.print(); }); //(found this online, apparently it's Firefox only, still didn't work)

  • Does PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode() have a bug?

    - by Brandi
I would like to be able to change the printer properties without bringing up the printer properties window... Using the DocumentProperties (imported from winspool.drv) function has so far failed, because while it is easy to suppress the dialog from showing up, it seems that the value returned by PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode() is not reflecting the PrinterSettings that is calling it, but instead the value from the previous printer properties returning OK. For example, this gives me the previous (wrong) values from the last call to the properties, instead of the values it should have from the PrinterSettings object: IntPtr hdevmode = PrinterSettings.GetHdevmode(PrinterSettings.DefaultPageSettings); PrinterSettings.SetHdevmode(hdevmode); PrinterSettings.DefaultPageSettings.SetHdevmode(hdevmode); So does GetHdevmode have a bug or is this what its supposed to do? Is there a C# work around for this or does anyone even have any information about it? I have been hard pressed even to find info on the topic. Thanks in advance for any insight.

  • Java: Writing a DOM to an XML file (formatting issues)

    - by Vhaerun
I'm using org.w3c XML API to open an existing XML file. I'm removing some nodes , and I'm adding others instead . The problem is that the new nodes that are added are written one after another , with no newline and no indentation what so ever. While it's true that the XML file is valid , it is very hard for a human to examnine it. Is there anyway to add indentation , or at least a newline after each node ?

  • Windows 7 Printing Issue

    - by Adrian Godong
I am using Windows 7 RTM x64. From Control Panel Devices and Printers, I have three printers listed; Fax, XPS Writer, and a Lexmark. I can print a test page through the printer properties with no problem. I can print a text file from Notepad with no problem. I can't print from Safari. When I press Ctrl+P, it displays the Print dialog, press OK and nothing happened. I can't print from Adobe Reader. When I press Ctrl+P, it complains that it there is no printer installed. I can't print from Office applications. When I press Ctrl+P, it crashes immediately. Running Office Diagnostics does not help. I can't print from IE8. When I press Ctrl+P, it displays the Print dialog, complains that I have to select a printer from the list, selected any of the three printers, the Print button is disabled. Any help? Update (01/11/2009): The default printer is the Lexmark. I'm testing on this one as well. I was about to reinstall Office (as this is the first application that has the problem), but then I tried other, some behave similarly but not identical (maybe caused by different printing implementation). On those applications that is able to display printer selection dialog, I tried the Lexmark and XPS. Neither printed anything (paper for Lexmark, file for XPS). Update (01/12/2009): It seems that my Windows installation is botched. A colleague have similar hardware/software combination (it's the same workstation model and Windows 7 x64) and his can print perfectly fine. I tried adding the printer from his share, no joy. I can test print from the printer property, I can print from Notepad, but not from any other application.

  • SQL SERVER – Puzzle to Win Print Book – Write T-SQL Self Join Without Using FIRST _VALUE and LAST_VALUE

    - by pinaldave
Last week we asked a puzzle SQL SERVER – Puzzle to Win Print Book – Functions FIRST_VALUE and LAST_VALUE with OVER clause and ORDER BY . This puzzle got very interesting participation. The details of the winner is listed here. In this puzzle we received two very important feedback. This puzzle cleared the concepts of First_Value and Last_Value to the participants. As this was based on SQL Server 2012 many could not participate it as they have yet not installed SQL Server 2012. I really appreciate the feedback of user and decided to come up something as fun and helps learn new feature of SQL Server 2012. Please read yesterday’s blog post SQL SERVER – Introduction to LEAD and LAG – Analytic Functions Introduced in SQL Server 2012 before continuing this puzzle as it is based on yesterday’s post. Yesterday I ran following query which uses functions LEAD and LAG. USE AdventureWorks GO SELECT s.SalesOrderID,s.SalesOrderDetailID,s.OrderQty, FIRST_VALUE(SalesOrderDetailID) OVER (ORDER BY SalesOrderDetailID) FstValue, LAST_VALUE(SalesOrderDetailID) OVER (ORDER BY SalesOrderDetailID) LstValue FROM Sales.SalesOrderDetail s WHERE SalesOrderID IN (43670, 43669, 43667, 43663) ORDER BY s.SalesOrderID,s.SalesOrderDetailID,s.OrderQty GO The above query will give us the following result: Puzzle: Now use T-SQL Self Join where same table is joined to itself and get the same result without using LEAD or LAG functions. • Printer Canon MP540 succesfully added finally but doesn't print? (Attached Debug log)

    - by NES
i tried to setup my printer in Ubuntu 10.10. I had to use special guide to install because Canon used libcupsys2 in its packages and ubuntu expects libscupsys i followed this guide in reference to this advice. The first problem was this one (the ubuntu "add printer dialog asked for root credentials". The suggested workarout in Launchpad to create a root password worked. Now i added the printer. It's available for printing. Then i got an error message "cups insecure filter" which prevented me from printing. That could be solved by setting the need root rights in the /usr/lib/cups/filter/ directory. The error message disappeared after restarting cups service. Now it should work but it doesn't. The main problem is now, the printer seems to be proper setup but when i try to print a document, the printer icon appears for short time in gnomepanel. There's a printing job in Queue which got completed, but the printer doesn't print. I attached the Debuglog provided by printer error control, had to upload to another site, since it was to big in the question body here. Perhaps someone can identify the problem with it? Note: i know that it once worked fine with an older release of Ubuntu, but not sure which version this was.

  • How to print "Hello, world!" (in every possible way)

    - by Attila Oláh
Here's what I', trying to do: 1 language: (Python < 3): print "Hello, world!" 2 languages: (Python < 3 & Windows Shell, aka .bat file): rem=""" echo "Hello, world!" exit """ print "Hello, world!" Next step could be something like bash. Since the above one raises an exception, I tried to make it not raise exceptions, like this: rem=""" echo "Hello, world!" exit """ exit="" exit print "Hello, world!" The only issue is, of course, it won't print the hello world. And I really want it to print that hello world for me. Anyone can help with this? Also, any other language would do it, just don't break the previous ones (i.e. the answer still has to be valid Python code and print out the nice hello world greeting when run with Python.) Any ideas are welcome. I'm making this a community wiki so feel free to add ideas to the list.

  • How do you print from a popup window in javascript?

    - by sglantz
I have a .Net application that dynamically creates a small HTML page and pops it up in a new window using the javascript document.open method. Everything with that functionality is working fine. Now I want to add a button to the HTML page that prints the page. I have tried using the following code to no avail: <a href='print.html' onClick='window.print();return false;'> <img src='images/printer.png' height='32px' width='32px'></a> When the button is clicked in the popup window, nothing happens. But when the source code of of this page is saved and loaded in a browser as a separate page, the print button works perfectly. So it would appear that the problem is caused by the fact that the code is in a popup window. Does anyone know a way to fix this problem or any alternatives? EDIT: Other method that I have tried with the same results: <input type='button' onclick='window.print()' value='Print' /> and <a href='javascript:window.print()'> <img src='images/printer.png' height='32px' width='32px'></a>
