  Hello, My question is quite simple and with the SharpSvn Api, it should be easy as well. Here what I did: path = "c:\project"; using (SvnLookClient client = new SvnLookClient()) { SvnLookOrigin o = new SvnLookOrigin(path); Collection<SvnChangedEventArgs> changeList; client.GetChanged(o, out changeList); // <-- Exception } and when I call the GetChanged, I get an exception: Can't open file 'c:\project\format': The system cannot find the file specified. So, Maybe there is something I'm missing? Or maybe it's not the right way to do find out the list of files and folders that were modified in the local repository? Thanks in advance.

• Push DVCS repository to master without needing codebase

  To work on a client's staging environment I have to connect through a VPN which locks all normal network traffic and prevents any connection to the Internet. This would immediately prevent any of the "normal" VCS solutions from being used as it's not possible to gain access to the server. A solution to this would be to create a DVCS repository (git?) locally and then push changes to the master, as and when needed. There is one flaw in this plan. The entire codebase is around 14GB. To download all of this over the internet would take some time, especially when I'm likely to be working on 3 or 4 different machines in each case. This seems silly and overkill for a DVCS. TL;DR Can any DVCS solution allow you to push to a master server/repo without needing the codebase? Bad example: copy the .git folder (not the 14GB codebase) to another directory and push this to the master once disconnected from the VPN.

I have done this before when I have access to the server by creating a network share and using Google desktop. I currently do not have access to this subversion server box. Any Ideas?   Hi, We have an application running on a loadbalanced environment, let say webserver A and B. The loadbalancing is on the HTTP level, so the loadbalancer directs each user request to one of both webservers. The scope of the repositories in the application is managed by the spring.net container, and the application relies on data that can be cached by the repository (performance reasons). In this case we can never be sure that the cached data in the repositories on both webservers is the same. Is there mechanism in spring.net that can manage this kind problem? Or is there another common approach for this kind of thing? Any ideas? Thx, Bert

• Connect to SVN repository with Netbeans using SVN+SSH

  Hello all, I am trying to connect to a SVN server in order to import my project into it with svn+ssh authentication method. I am using the NetBeans IDE (6.8) with subversion plugin installed on Windows XP SP2. I have plink installed with its path set in the Windows PATH env variable. When I use the similar looking repository URL (XXXX and YYYY replaced with sensible things) svn+ssh://XXXX@YYYY/home/dce/svn/trunk along with this external tunnel command plink -l <myUserName> -i C:\\privateKey.ppk I keep getting this error: org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Network connection closed unexpectedly I searched about it on the Internet and tried many things but didn't work out. Please help if anybody has some idea what may be going wrong. Thanks a lot in advance.

• Google Wave as code repository and IDE?

  Is it possible to write a Google Wave plugin that turns it into an IDE for programming? With such an extension, Google Wave would be a replacement for Eclipse etc., and it would naturally be a code repository at the same time (replacing SVN, git, etc.). Users (programmers) would be able to create code files directly in Wave and add collaborators to do pair programming etc. The whole codebase would live in a Wave folder, and an extension would do the building and compiling on the fly. How would one go about writing such an extension?

• Unable to add a trac repository to mylyn in eclipse

  Trac is running on a server on port 8002. With tunneling, I am able to access Trac on my machine using localhost:8002. I am able to login, create tickets using my browser. I want to integrate this trac project with Mylyn in Eclipse. I have installed mylyn with the Trac connector. I try adding task repositories in eclipse. I am able to successfully validate the settings, however, I am not able to add it as a task repository. Any help appreciated.

• Mirror a git repository by pulling?

  I am wondering if there is an easy way, ie like a simple cron job, to regularly pull from a remote git repository to a local read only mirror for backup purposes? Ideally it would pull all branches and tags, but the master/trunk/head would be sufficient. I just need a way to make sure that if the master git server dies, we have a backup location that we could manually fail over to. (I have been googling and reading documentation for help on how to do this for quite some time now and the furthest I have gotten is a bash script that does pull's on a regular interval.)

• Building MobileVLCKit from git.videolan.org repository on macOsX with XCode

  I would like to make an application for iOS(iPhone and iPad) that can play streaming videos through RTSP protocol (that includes mms). I imagined to achive a specified application using VLC player or libVLC library. On the official vlc git repository (http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=tree) in projects/macosx/framework/ folder there is xcode project MobileVLCKit.xcodeproj for which I assume that is a somewhat usable VLC framework for iOS. Now the problem is that I can't/don't know how to build this project. When I try to build MobileVLCKit.xcodeproj I get an error that says it can't find files inside extras/contrib/hosts/i686-apple-darwin10/ios/ folder. I have looked within that folder (extras/contrib) and managed to create folder (with files) extras/contrib/hosts/i686-apple-darwin10/ with make, but there is no ios folder. So, does anybody knows how to successfully build MobileVLCKit?

• Accessing NHibernate Repository using ASP.NET Ajax WebMethod

  Hi there! on my page I have a save button that gets the values from the form and then saves it in the database using NHibernate. This works using ASP.net postback buttons. I have now added an Ajax WebMethod to make things sleek and quicker. Howver, when trying to access the data in the repository it doesn't seem to get it. I am passing in the correct values, and everything looks the same as when you are using the postback but no Joy! I should point out here that I'm a newbie with NHibernate and I'm working with someone elses code. Here's the code: the main problem is this line: Solution.Entities.Hierarchy.Tag tag = tagRep.Get(tagId); The tagID is fine, but when it does the get no exception is raised it just comes out the method and goes back to the page???? http://pastebin.com/cBTp9pnC Anyone have any ideas? • Restoring a subversion repository to workcopy revision

  My subversion VM died the other day (host hardware melted) and I had to restore a backed up copy of the vmware server image. The restore went well and the VM is running again on a new host. The problem I have is that my restored repository is at revision 60 but my working copy on my PC is at 66. When I try and commit my working copy I get the following error message. svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: No such revision 61 What is the best way to force this commit and bring subversion up to the same revision as my working copy?   This question is based on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/359424/detach-subdirectory-into-separate-git-repository Instead of detaching a single subdirectory, I want to detach a couple. For example, my current directory tree looks like this: /apps /AAA /BBB /CCC /libs /XXX /YYY /ZZZ And I would like this instead: /apps /AAA /libs /XXX The --subdirectory-filter argument to git filter-branch won't work because it gets rid of everything except for the given directory the first time it's run. I thought using the --index-filter argument for all unwanted files would work (albeit tedious), but if I try running it more than once, I get the following message: Cannot create a new backup. A previous backup already exists in refs/original/ Force overwriting the backup with -f Any ideas? TIA

  I'm trying to create a base repository for use with Entity Framework 4.0 and having some trouble. In this code below, why is it not possible to do this in one line? public IEnumerable<T> GetAll<T>(Expression<Func<T, bool>> filter) { IEnumerable<T> allCustomers = this.GetAll<T>(); IEnumerable<T> result = allCustomers.Where(filter.Compile()); return result; } Won't this result in 2 SQL statements: one without a where clause that retrieves all rows, and one with a where clause that only retrieves the rows that match the predicate? How can this be done with a single SQL statement? I can't get it to compile if I try to cast the filter.Compile() to Func<Customer, bool>. Thanks, Andy

• Finding the right version of the right JAR in a maven repository

  I'm converting a build that has 71 .jar files in its global lib/ directory to use Maven. Of course, these have been pulled from the web by lots of developers over the past ten years of this project's history, and weren't always added to VCS with all the necessary version info, etc. Is there an easy, automated way to go from that set of .jar files to the corresponding <dependency/> elements for use in my pom.xml files? I'm hoping for a web page where I can submit the checksum of a jar file and get back an XML snippet. The google hits for 'maven repository search' are basically just finding name-based searches. And http://repo1.maven.org/ has no search whatsoever, as far as I can see. Update: GrepCode looks like it can find projects given an MD5 checksum. But it doesn't provide the particular details (groupId, artifactId) that Maven needs.

• Commit SVN working copy into Git repository

  I am currently working on a checked out SVN project along with some plugins for that project. I want to keep all of this work - including the current version of my SVN checkout within a single git repository. I thought I had achieved this by checking in the SVN working copy to git. However, when I did a pull on a new computer the SVN working copy had been corrupted. In particular it seemed that git had not checked it any of the .svn/tmp/ and .svn/props/ folders. I have now made a fresh checkout of the SVN project. Is there a way for me to add the ignored folders to my git repo (git status ignores them even though my .gitignore is empty) or force SVN to regenerate them?

• Pushing a local clone to remote repository with Mercurial

  Here is what I did: Cloned a remote repository to my local computer. Created a second clone from the first clone. Made changes in the second clone. Never touched anything that resides in the first clone. Now what happens if I directly push to remote repo from the second clone? A new branch is introduced in the remote repo? Maybe a stupid question but I can't test it because there are other developers working on the code and I don't want to mess anything. Thanks.

• Multiple svn projects into one git repository?

  Hi, I have started to use git-svn for some of my work to be able to do local commits. This works great for projects that use standard svn layout. Recently I started working on a Java project that is split into multiple connected modules (20-25), and each module have its own root folder in the same svn repo with its own trunk/branches/tags. svnrepo/ module-1 trunk branches tags module-N trunk branches tags I have cloned each and every module with git svn clone -s /path/to/svnrepo/module[1-N]. The "problem" is that when I want to do git svn rebase on all modules i have to do it N times. I have tried to do git svn clone /path/to/svnrepo/ do avoid doing the rebase operation N times, but that leaves me with a directory layout that is the same as in the svn repo. Is there a way that I can track all the trunks of all modules in one git repo? So that I get a directory layout like this within my git repository: module-1 module-2 module-N
