    Figured it out! No need to create a fake Java file, unlike what I said in part 1, no need to depend on all the Java Editor modules, if you use DialogBinding.bindComponentToDocument, instead of DialogBinding.bindComponentToFile: public final class CountryEditorTopComponent extends TopComponent {     public CountryEditorTopComponent() {         initComponents();         setName(Bundle.CTL_CountryEditorTopComponent());         setToolTipText(Bundle.HINT_CountryEditorTopComponent());         EditorKit kit = CloneableEditorSupport.getEditorKit("text/plain");         jEditorPane1.setEditorKit(kit);         DialogBinding.bindComponentToDocument(jEditorPane1.getDocument(), 0, 0, jEditorPane1);         jEditorPane1.setText("Egypt");     } The above requires a dependency on Editor Library 2, which is where DialogBinding is found. Aside from that, you need all the dependencies required by the Code Completion API, as described in the Code Completion tutorial on the NetBeans Platform Learning Trail. Once you've done that, go to the Project Properties dialog of the application and then in the "ide" cluster, include "Plain Editor" and "Plain Editor Library". I.e., two additional JARs only. These two are needed because you've set the MIME type to "text/plain", which is needed because DialogBinding expects the JEditorPane to have a MIME type. And now everything works. Press Ctrl-Space in your JEditorPane and, because your CompletionProvider is registered in "text/x-dialog-binding" (via the annotation on CompletionProvider), your completion items are displayed. (The only MIME type for binding a document to a component, by default, is "text/x-dialog-binding", which means the next step is for someone to figure out how to support multiple different of such MIME types, since each JEditorPane in your application is likely to require its own specific code completion support.) I think this is a really workable solution for real scenarios where JEditorPanes in NetBeans Platform applications require code completion.

Error code = 0x8007000b In MS connect this is reported as a bug but MS is unable to reproduce the problem altough when you search the fora I'm not the only one with this problem. So any help is appreciated.

  • Error 0x800f0922 installing .NET 3.5 on Windows 8

    I'm trying to install .NET 3.5 on my Windows 8 box and it keeps throwing Error 0x800f0922 at me. From what I've read on answers.microsoft.com and StackOverflow I gather the easiest way to fix this is to perform a system refresh, however this will remove all software I've installed from discs. I've just moved house, so I'd rather not do that as I don't know where all the installation media actually are for a lot of my software, so if possible I'd prefer to track down where the problem is actually occurring. (Also, I have a LOT of software installed. It'd take me a long time to reinstall it all, and I unfortunately haven't got that time.) The on-demand error screen sends me to KB2734782 (can't link it as I'm <10 rep), which doesn't help much. Here's the process I followed: I generated my private key with: openssl genrsa -out my.key 2048 I created the CSR with: openssl req -new -key my.key -out my.csr I provided the CSR to our IT department, and they returned a crt - it starts with -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- My ssl.conf has (my.example.com matches the Common name used during the generation of the CSR): <VirtualHost my.example.com:443> SSLEngine On ServerName my.example.com SSLCertificateFile /path/my.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /path/my.key </VirtualHost> I do not have SSLCertificateChainFile or SSLCACertificate file set. The private key starts with ----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- The csr starts with -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- I have verified that both: openssl rsa -noout -modulus -in my.key openssl req -noout -modulus -in my.csr produce the same output. I cannot figure out how to verify the crt - trying both x509 and rsa produce an error. Should this process have worked? Can I verify that my.crt matches the key somehow?

    When I try to start Outlook 2007, my system freezes, and Outlook says it is "synchonizing folders". I don't use exchange, and haven't seen any answers online. I've tried turning off the exchange integration (right clicking my folders) Since doing the latter, there is no longer an icon in the system tray when this is frozen (there was before) UPDATE: It seems my anti-virus program (comodo) was what was actually locking during Outlook file synch. I disabled that, and things seemed to settle down.

    I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes. Below is the crash info, any idea what is causing this? What i am doing is fairly straight forward and don't see why this would be happening. This was done a while ago, and at that time I successfully installed a data source (let's call it foo). Now I am trying to add another data source (DSN). I've done this through both ODBC Manager and the command-line tool myodbc-installer given with the tar bundle of the mysql-odbc connector from the mysql website. For example in Nautilus, I can right click and select "Safely Remove Device". After doing that, the /dev/sg7 and /dev/sdg devices are removed.   • AIX: iscsi volumes disappear after reboot

    We have an IBM P505 AIX box, with two internal disks and a defined iSCSI volume. The iSCSI volume is defined in it's own volume group, and is connected to an IBM iSCSI DS3300 disk array via the secondary onboard ethernet port (ie, we're not using a dedicated HBA, we're using the second onboard ethernet port for iSCSI exclusively.) When we reboot the AIX box, the iSCSI volume doesn't get mounted (which is fine; I've figured out that it fails to mount because AIX tries mounting it's volumes before starting the networking stack.) The problem is, after the server has booted it fails to redetect the iSCSI target as a physical disk. This means the volume group (iscsivg) can't go online. if I run cfgmgr -v to redetect the iscsi volume it successfully detects the iscsi target volume and creates a physical volume reference, but allocates it a different volume ID to what was defined before. eg - rootvg contains hdisk 0 and 1 iscsivg was originally defined with hdisk2 as the physical iSCSI volume. after reboot and running cfgmgr -v, AIX detects physical volumes hdisk0, hdisk11 and hdisk3. As there's no hdisk2, I can't varyon the iscsivg volume group. I can't seem any existing hdisk2 definition in the ODM. I can't easily add or change the definition of the physcial disk in the iscsivg volume group as it won't "varyon". Exporting the volume group deletes it completely, recreating the volume group by "importing" it from the reallocated disk makes it available again, but surely there's a better way? Can I force a specific hdisk drive designation for an iscsi target? How do you bring online iSCSI volumes after a reboot? I assume this "just works" with a dedicated HBA instead of a generic ethernet adapter? By the way, the iSCSI volume works fine once it's mounted; we only have problems getting it working - and only with AIX. The iSCSI array works fine with our Linux and Windows servers; ie the volumes get detected and remounted after boot time without any problems, using generic ethernet adapters.   • Syncing Music Everywhere with Google Music and iTunes Match - Will This Work?

    I have the following devices: Personal Laptop running Windows 7/Ubuntu 11.10 (mostly use Ubuntu) Media Server running Windows 7 with PS3 Media Server and iTunes Work Laptop running OSX Snow Leopard iPad iPhone 4S The iPhone just replaced my Droid 2 Global. What I had been doing was using Google Music to watch the folders iTunes was storing music in and moving any new files up to Google Music. The Droid would pull music down from the cloud via streaming or me telling it to make it available offline, I had folders set up with PS3 Media Server to stream them to TV's via DLNA, and used RDP to play music through my speakers in the office. So far it's worked well. Since I've replaced the Droid 2 though with an iPhone, I've lost the syncing ability with Google Music and have to do it via iTunes (I knew this would happen, no big suprise). I got to thinking though - Apple does offer iTunes Match, which allows your devices to stream/download the music from 'the cloud,' much like Google Music. I could then listen to whatever I Wanted (for the most part) on my phone, iPad, and laptops by syncing via iTunes Match. I don't want to loose my MP3s though, and since I've never used iTunes Match, I wonder if the following is a viable solution: Sign up for iTunes Match on my media server Let it scan my library and make available my songs in AAC in the cloud Not delete the media server MP3s Set up other devices to sync to iTunes Match Continue to get MP3s via Amazon or other services and add to iTunes Let the MP3s sync to Google Music, and let the MP3's add to the AAC versions on my devices I think the main kicker is I don't want to lose the MP3 versions of my songs as those will work just fine on all my devices and I generally rip at 320kbps. I don't mind spending $25/year if it means that I can easily shift the music from device to device without much thinking, but I'm not going to pay $25/year to end up converting my library over to AAC just to save myself the hassle of manually syncing my iPad and iPhone.
