  • Avoiding circular project/assembly references in Visual Studio with statically typed dependency conf

    First, I want to say that I am not interested in debating about any non-helpful "answers" to my question, with suggestions to putting everything in one assembly, i.e. there is no need for anyone to provide webpages such as the page titled with "Separate Assemblies != Loose Coupling". Now, my question is if it somehow (maybe with some Visual Studio configuration to allow for circular project dependencies?) is possible to use one project/assembly (I am here calling it the "ServiceLocator" assembly) for retrieving concrete implementation classes, (e.g. with StructureMap) which can be referred to from other projects, while it of course is also necessary for the the ServiceLocator itself to refer to other projects with the interfaces and the implementations ? Visual Studio project example, illustrating the kind of dependency structure I am talking about: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/8838/testingdependencyinject.png Please note in the above picture, the problem is how to let the classes in "ApplicationLayerServiceImplementations" retrieve and instantiate classes that implement the interfaces in "DomainLayerServiceInterfaces". The goal is here to not refer directly to the classes in "DomainLayerServiceImplementations", but rather to try using the project "ServiceLocator" to retrieve such classes, but then the circular dependency problem occurrs... In that project, I output a zip file packaging up all of the images, CSS, etc. I have several of those virtualhost projects for different clients and my question is, how do I unpack the zip file that was already installed into the maven repository to the jetty web root?   • Getting a screenshot of a page using .NET - Need help with code

    I'm writing a specialized crawler and parser for internal use and I require the ability to take a screenshot of a web page in order to check what colours are being used throughout. The program will take in around ten web addresses and will save them as a bitmap image, from there I plan to use LockBits in order to create a list of the five most used colours within the image. To my knowledge it's the easiest way to get the colours used within a web page but if there is an easier way to do it please chime in with your suggestions. Anyway, I was going to use this program until I saw the price tag. I'm also fairly new to C#, having only used it for a few months. Can anyone provide me with a solution to my problem of taking a screenshot of a web page in order to extract the colour scheme? EDIT: Sorry for not getting back to this sooner, but I've been busy with some other things. Anyway, the code seems to work well, but the problem I am having right now is that I am running it within a form, and naturally with Application.Run() being called I cannot run two instances of the same form at once. It recommended Form.showDialog() but that broke everything.   • Cannot instantiate abstract class or interface : problem while persisting

    i have a class campaign that maintains a list of AdGroupInterfaces. im going to persist its implementation @Entity @Table(name = "campaigns") public class Campaign implements Serializable,Comparable<Object>,CampaignInterface { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY) private Long id; @OneToMany ( cascade = {CascadeType.ALL}, fetch = FetchType.EAGER, targetEntity=AdGroupInterface.class ) @org.hibernate.annotations.Cascade( value = org.hibernate.annotations.CascadeType.DELETE_ORPHAN ) @org.hibernate.annotations.IndexColumn(name = "CHOICE_POSITION") private List<AdGroupInterface> AdGroup; public Campaign() { super(); } public List<AdGroupInterface> getAdGroup() { return AdGroup; } public void setAdGroup(List<AdGroupInterface> adGroup) { AdGroup = adGroup; } public void set1AdGroup(AdGroupInterface adGroup) { if(AdGroup==null) AdGroup=new LinkedList<AdGroupInterface>(); AdGroup.add(adGroup); } } AdGroupInterface's implementation is AdGroups. when i add an adgroup to the list in campaign, campaign c; c.getAdGroupList().add(new AdGroups()), etc and save campaign it says"Cannot instantiate abstract class or interface :" AdGroupInterface its not recognizing the implementation just before persisting...     Is it possible to get the currently logged in user's username with Silverlight? You can assume that user has Windows OS and the Silverlight application is hosted in Internet Explorer. Getting the identity from server side with ASP.NET is not an option, this SL application will be hosted on a static HTML file.

I want to know why this didn't work for me.

  • StackOverflowException in c# when no local variable in the function

    when i do this static void Main() { Main(); } I receive stackoverflow exception. As i have read so far about C# they say ONLY local variable of value types (and short living ones) will go on stack. But here in the code there are no local variable to go on stack then what overflows it ? I know from assembly code line Perspective that reference to Main() will go on stack too ? Is that right ?
