  • change shell directory from a script?

    i want to make a script (to) that makes it easier for me to enter folders. so eg. if i type "to apache" i want it to change the current directory to /etc/apache2. however, when i use the "cd" command inside the script, it seems like it changes the path WITHIN the script, so the path in the shell has not changed. how could i make this work?

  • Why checking out working copy with svn:// access method, with 127.0.0.1 fails , but,with localhost w

    Hi!, I have setup svnserve server (1.6.5,plain, without apache) on Fedora. I start the svnserve with the command 'svnserve -d --foreground --listen-port=3690 -r /usr/local/svn-repos/proj-test' When user trying to checkout working copy from the local machine with command 'svn checkout svn://127.0.0.1/proj-test' gets following error svn: URL 'svn://127.0.0.1/proj-test' doesn't exists but, 'svn checkout svn://localhost/proj-test' works. I am curious to know why using 127.0.0.1 with svn:// fails? Thanks. Banani

    I want to run an instance of wordpress within my rails app. I currently have wordpress files housed in public/wordpress, but I need to configure my .htaccess file to allow both types of requests.   • What is the fastest / best Base64 en/decoder for Java ?

    Just found the MIG Base 64 utility but its over 6 years old since its last release. It would appear to be quicker than the Apache commons equivalent but I have yet to confirm by writing up an actual test. Has anyone verified its correctness which is always a worry. If someone takes a look at the methods, please note i a referring to the non fast methods which make assumptions trading possible correctness for pure speed.

This is because loc is not serializable, but this shouldn't be problem because spring beans are a serializable proxies.     Hi, I am currently using just Hibernate and tomcat (no JBoss), and have hibernate transactions which I'm not clear on what transaction safety level I'm actually using, especially for those which read and get values and then update them). Thus I might be getting dirty reads? So I'm going to start having to study my transactions that require non-dirty reads, and make sure that (1) hibernate controls the transaction safety level of those transactions properly, and (2) be able to still have those transactions where dirty reads are ok. Do I need to install Hibernate with JBoss to control transaction safety levels? If so, what's the easiest way to do this without dramatically changing my application to use the J2EE apis, as I am currently using the basic Hibernate apis. Or better, can I get JTA control with Hibernate without using JBoss? Andy

  • Hudson build fails when a user logs out of RDP session

    We are using Hudson to build mixed C++/Java projects with an Ant script. It is running in Tomcat 6, on a Win XP virtual machine. I have noticed recently that when a user logs off the machine (from a remote desktop session), builds that are currently running tend to suddenly fail without an error message. Has anyone encountered anything similar or have an idea what might be causing this effect? I can post additional information about our setup if needed, I'm just not sure what's relevant in this case.

    I am looking for examples of code/data/infrastructure design for a dashboard-style webapp. I am designing an interface for staff and faculty at a university to access departmental resources and be alerted of cyclical processes, events, deadlines, etc. Technologies I am working with: apache tomcat 6 and a mySQL database, JSP (including JSTL), bootstrap 3, and javascript/jquery. I have basic experience most of these technologies building smaller web apps but was hoping someone could direct me towards a book or other resource that discusses how to design the db architecture (and maybe how to template) for a dashboard, esp. for something like a notification systems. Any suggestions?

How can I achieve this without saving image to drive. As I understand stream can be read only once. So I need to store whole image in memory? Is it expensive for performance?   • Call an external web service from a servlet

    Hi, I'm developing a servlet that gets a name of a web service and could be forward the request to an external web service, for example: "http://www.webservice.com/..." I have build a response wrapper that intercept response output but I can't forward request to an external web service, it works only if I redirect the request to a servlet that is on same server. Example: request.getRequestDispatcher("aMyServlet").forward(request, response) IT WORKS request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.webservice.com/...").forward(request, response) IT DON'T WORKS because Tomcat search "http://www.webservice.com/..." on the server as a local resource. How can I do external request? Thanks
