• How to select the first ocurrence in the auto-completion menu by pressing Enter?

  Every time there's is a pop up menu. I select the first occurrence and press enter but nothing happens (the word is not completed with he selected occurrence). The only way is to press Tab until you reach the term for a second time. Is there a way of selecting the first occurrence pressing Enter (or other Vim hotkey)? • Looking into the JQuery Image Zoom Plugin

  I have been using JQuery for a couple of years now and it has helped me to solve many problems on the client side of web development.  You can find all my posts about JQuery in this link. In this post I will be providing you with a hands-on example on the JQuery Image Zoom Plugin.If you want you can have a look at this post, where I describe the JQuery Cycle Plugin.You can find another post of mine talking about the JQuery Carousel Lite Plugin here.I will be writing more posts regarding the most commonly used JQuery Plugins. I have been using extensively this plugin in my websites.You can use this plugin to move mouse around an image and see a zoomed in version of a portion of it. In this hands-on example I will be using Expression Web 4.0.This application is not a free application. You can use any HTML editor you like. You can use Visual Studio 2012 Express edition. I have added one large and one small image (make sure you use your own when trying this example) I have added references to the JQuery library (current version is 1.8.3) and the JQuery Image Zoom Plugin. Then I add 2 images in the main div element.Note the class nicezoom inside the href element. I view my simple in Internet Explorer 10 and it works as expected. • Why JSF Matters (to You)

Those who predict, don’t have knowledge."                                                                                                    – Lao Tzu You may have noticed Thoughtworks recently crowned the likes AngularJS, etc imminent successors to server-side web frameworks. They apparently also deemed it necessary to single out JSF for righteous scorn. I have to say as I was reading the analysis I couldn't help but remember they also promptly jumped on the Ruby, Rails, Clojure, etc bandwagon a good few years ago seemingly similarly crowing these dynamic languages imminent successors to Java. I remember thinking then as I do now whether the folks at Thoughtworks are really that much smarter than me or if they are simply more prone to the Hipster buzz of the day. I'll let you make the final call on that one. I also noticed mention of "J2EE" in the context of JSF and had to wonder how up-to-date or knowledgeable the person writing the analysis actually was given that the term was basically retired almost a decade ago. There's one thing that I am absolutely sure about though - as a long time pretty happy user of JSF, I had no choice but to speak up on what I believe JSF offers. If you feel the same way, I would encourage you to support the team behind JSF whose hard work you may have benefited from over the years. True to his outspoken character PrimeFaces lead Cagatay Civici certainly did not mince words making the case for the JSF ecosystem - his excellent write-up is well worth a read. He specifically pointed out the practical problems in going whole hog with bare metal JavaScript, CSS, HTML for many development teams. I'll admit I had to smile when I read his closing sentence as well as the rather cheerful comments to the post from actual current JSF/PrimeFaces users that are apparently supposed to be on a gloomy death march. In a similar vein, OmniFaces developer Arjan Tijms did a great job pointing out the fact that despite the extremely competitive server-side Java Web UI space, JSF seems to manage to always consistently come out in either the number one or number two spot over many years and many data sources - do give his well-written message in the JAX-RS user forum a careful read. I don't think it's really reasonable to expect this to be the case for so many years if JSF was not at least a capable if not outstanding technology. If fact if you've ever wondered, Oracle itself is one of the largest JSF users on the planet. As Oracle's Shay Shmeltzer explains in a recent JSF Central interview, many of Oracle's strategic products such as ADF, ADF Mobile and Fusion Applications itself is built on JSF. There are well over 3,000 active developers working on these codebases. I don't think anyone can think of a more compelling reason to make sure that a technology is as effective as possible for practical development under real world conditions. Standing on the shoulders of the above giants, I feel like I can be pretty brief in making my own case for JSF: JSF is a powerful abstraction that brings the original Smalltalk MVC pattern to web development. This means cutting down boilerplate code to the bare minimum such that you really can think of just writing your view markup and then simply wire up some properties and event handlers on a POJO. The best way to see what this really means is to compare JSF code for a pretty small case to other approaches. You should then multiply the additional work for the typical enterprise project to try to understand what the productivity trade-offs are. This is reason alone for me to personally never take any other approach seriously as my primary web UI solution unless it can match the sheer productivity of JSF. Thanks to JSF's focus on components from the ground-up JSF has an extremely strong ecosystem that includes projects like PrimeFaces, RichFaces, OmniFaces, ICEFaces and of course ADF Faces/Mobile. These component libraries taken together constitute perhaps the largest widget set ever developed and optimized for a single web UI technology. To begin to grasp what this really means, just briefly browse the excellent PrimeFaces showcase and think about the fact that you can readily use the widgets on that showcase by just using some simple markup and knowing near to nothing about AJAX, JavaScript or CSS. JSF has the fair and legitimate advantage of being an open vendor neutral standard. This means that no single company, individual or insular clique controls JSF - openness, transparency, accountability, plurality, collaboration and inclusiveness is virtually guaranteed by the standards process itself. You have the option to choose between compatible implementations, escape any form of lock-in or even create your own compatible implementation! As you might gather from the quote at the top of the post, I am not a fan of crystal ball gazing and certainly don't want to engage in it myself. Who knows? However far-fetched it may seem maybe AngularJS is the only future we all have after all. If that is the case, so be it. Unlike what you might have been told, Java EE is about choice at heart and it can certainly work extremely well as a back-end for AngularJS. Likewise, you are also most certainly not limited to just JSF for working with Java EE - you have a rich set of choices like Struts 2, Vaadin, Errai, VRaptor 4, Wicket or perhaps even the new action-oriented web framework being considered for Java EE 8 based on the work in Jersey MVC...   Greetings, In my current project, I have gridview, search button, text box for search, text box, and submit button. -I should input string in the search box then click search button. -when click search button, it will retrieve all matches records then bind them to the view grid. -then when I click a record in the gridview, it should bound a field to the second text box. finally I should submit the page by clicking in submit button. where is the problem: -the problme that I'm using jquery validation plugin that will make second text box is required. -when I click search button will not allow postback until I write some thing in second text box. • pagination for displaytag with colorbox in Spring framework

  Hi..... I want to display the pop up for user selection using colorbox. I have put link on manageblacklist.jsp named 'select'. when I click on 'select' link ,colorbox is displayed. all user is displayed but pagination is not worked.   I have a (hopefully) common scenario for one of my sites that I just can't seem to figure out how to deploy correctly. I have the following site and directories for example.com: These need to require SSL: /var/www/example.com/admin /var/www/example.com/order These need to be non-SSL: /var/www/example.com/maps These need to support both: /var/www/example.com/css /var/www/example.com/js /var/www/example.com/img I have two virtual host declarations for the one site in my /sites-available/example.com file; the top one is *:443 the second one is *:80. Since I have two sites, and if a request comes in on 443, the top virtualhost is used, same with the bottom if it's a port 80 request. However, I can't seem to enforce my SSL requirements using SSLRequireSSL because I'm assuming a port 80 request to /admin or /order is not even hitting the *:443 vhost. Should I just Deny All to /order and /admin within the *:80 virtual host so that if you try to request it on 80, you'll get a 403 Forbidden?

When I apply RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^en/([^/]*)$ /en/piece/piece.php?piece_id=$1 [L] only the URL is rewrote.Besides the CSS file can not be found in web page of the friendly URL. How to rewrite the domain name and the URL in the meantime? Do I have to use RedirectMatch, if so, how to do it?

• Accessing apache on virtual pc

  I am using a virtual pc to test my website. I can access all my webpages on the virtual pc. However, images don't load correctly. I can browse to my images folder and view all of them. However, if I click an image it will not load, and the apache log shows the virtual pc's ip trying to view the image: 192.168.0.55 - - [25/Jun/2009:20:10:41 -0400] "GET /images/pic.png HTTP/1.1" 302 220 Now, if I refresh the page it loads. 192.168.0.55 - - [25/Jun/2009:20:10:51 -0400] "GET /images/bg.png HTTP/1.1" 200 214 Also, images won't load in html or css. It seems like a redirecting problem or something, but I have no clue how to fix it. Thanks for any advice

• JMeter Stress testing

  MAMP server hosting a Joomla instance. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on the best way to stress test the server and find it's breaking point on concurrent users etc. Currently I have setup a test plan which I have going to the home page, grabbing the index.php, css, js and all images and have run tests on 1 to 100 users and a varying number of loops. What I'd like to know is how do I determine at what number of concurrent requests or looping requests is a good way to gauge if my server can handle the proposed increase in traffic? What is a good KB/sec, Throughput, Average, Max, Min via the Aggregate Report and at what number of threads/loops etc? I have googled and have not found immediate answers to these questions and thought to come here. More or less I have just used this http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/jmeter_proxy_step_by_step.pdf to guide me and then I have been winging it in terms of Thread and Loop numbers. Any light shed on these subject would be much appreciated.

• .htaccess - Remove all cookies

  I want to make an existing domain a "CDN" domain that serves all images, CSS and JS files (i.e. static files). However that domain was parked earlier and some application on that domain has set cookies. As far as I can observe, I'd say that with cookies the "Expires" header doesn't seem to have much effect with some browsers (Including Firefox). The browsers still request the file, even if they shouldn't do so for the next month. It would be possible to do some mod_rewrite tricks to detect if there are any cookies and then call a PHP file to remove the cookies and serve the static file so that for the next call there aren't any cookies left, but maybe you can give me a simpler method: Is there a "Apache .htaccess only" way of removing all existing cookies?

• Apache hanging with MaxClients is reached

  My Apache 2.2 (preform MPM) is hanging when MaxClients is reached, rather than queueing up requests and serving them when child processes become free. When this happens, the web server is totally unresponsive until it is manually restarted. The server stack is Ubuntu 8, MySQL 5, PHP 5. Hardware is Dual Xeons (2.8) with 2GB of RAM. It serves 30,000 - 50,000 pageviews per day. Static images, CSS, and JS are offloaded to a separate server and PHP is cached using eAccelerator. The HTML output of many pages is cached to the filesystem. Relevant Apache directives: KeepAlive On MaxKeepAliveRequests 50 KeepAliveTimeout 2 StartServers 2 MaxClients 150 MinSpareThreads 25 MaxSpareThreads 75 ThreadsPerChild 25 MaxRequestsPerChild 2000

• Nginx location issue

  I'm trying to set a longer (30 day) 'expires' header for my (images only) in the /misc-stuff/ directory. This is what I'm using for my site : # Serve static files directly from nginx location ~* \.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp|ico|pdf|flv|swf|exe|html|htm|txt|css|js) { add_header Cache-Control public; add_header Cache-Control must-revalidate; expires 7d; } I want to be able to keep that code in to handle regular site images, but create a new block to handle the /misc-stuff/ directory. I have tried : location ^~ /misc-stuff/ { ... } The problem I'm having now is that my backup .php files in that directory show up as plain text if someone tries to access it. How do I set it up so ONLY .gif images in the /misc-stuff/ directory are effected?
