  • jboss web services to tranfer files

    I dont have any experience for web services. please give me some suggestion about the task below. the task is: users will send a txt file (size should less than 20K ) from a .NET application, I need to write a web services which runs by jboss 5.x to read this file and edit this file and send the file back to .NET UI to display the edited version. question is that if the txt file is just test string or binary string, are there any restriction of the string length? if it's binary string, can I need to use BinaryReader class to read it? or not need special reader to read it? (this could be a dumn question :P) what if the .NET application can save the file on either the .NET application server or some shared server location, send a download URL to web serivces, can web services download it and read it? JBoss will be run on Linux sever. After edit the file, how do I send it back? Thanks for your help!

    Is it possible to set the IP address of an interface in Android within an application? I can query the available interfaces and their current addresses using java.net.NetworkInterface, but this doesn't provide a facility to change these. Did I just miss something somewhere or is it not allowed? I was hoping to be able to make my application either change or add an alias to one or more of the existing interfaces at runtime on an "off the shelf" device. (2.1/2.2). Ideally I'd like to do this for both IPv4 and v6 addresses.

But, it only changing the state of recurly account from "active" to "closed" and not deleting the account completely. I am using rails 2.3.11 for this application. Thanks in advance. K.     I'm doing something similar to close caption but not exactly the same. I have a youtube video, and I want to display certain messages at specific points in the video. When the video loads, I pull entries from the database in the format time and sentence. For example, at 0:20 the speaker says "don't forget to write down my email that you see on the side" and I want to display the email on the side. At 0:50, he says "and I'll post my office hours" so I want to show those office hours at that time. How can I do this. The video itself is hosted on youtube, but is being displayed on a private website. The div where I want to display the messages is <div id="write">.

  • Password protect web pages on Windows CE 6

    I am using the default web server for WinCE 6 and wish to password protect certain folders. The default VROOT /remoteadmin/ is password protected, and this works but my configuration doesn't work. I have tried mimicking these settings on my own folders but to little success. Here is how one looks: In the HKLM\Comm\HTTPD\VROOTS key I have created a subkey called /web/configuration (this folder actually exists on the box). The following values are in this key A = 1 DefaultPage = config.html Path = /hard disk/webroot/web/configuration/ UserList = ADMIN This is nigh on identical to the settings in /RemoteAdmin/ but /RemoteAdmin/ requests a password and /web/configuration doesn't (even after reboot).

    Hi, If a website operating on a domain other than my own supports get requests, like: http://api.someothersite.com/v1/farms There's no way for me to access it using JSON-P right, they would have to have support for it as a query parameter? Something like: http://api.someothersite.com/v1/farms?callback=fantastic I mean, there's no way for me to use it without them explicitly supporting it, right? Thanks

    I would like to restrict access to a file until the user has paid for it. This is easy enough if I served the file via a web app, but it seems more efficient to have httpd serve the file. Is there a way to get apache to ask a web app if it can serve a file before serving it? As I'm typing this it seems like it should be trivial but I'm not coming up with a good answer via google.   • MoveWindow API doesn't work well on Vista

    Hello! I have an application on Vista which loops through all processes and finds associated main windows in order to move and resize them. The problem is that some windows get moved and resized and some don't. Also it even seems that moved and resized windows aren't moved and resized according to the MoveWindow function call because they are resized to title bar and all of them are on the same line (same y coordinate). Here's the sample code: IntPtr handle; Process[] processList = Process.GetProcesses(); int i = 0; foreach (Process process in processList) { handle = process.MainWindowHandle; if (handle != IntPtr.Zero) //If the process has window then move and resize it. { bool moveResult = MoveWindow(handle, i * 50, i * 50, 500, 500, true); i++; } } Is this because of Vista? What alternative should I use?

    I have a web part which uses validation on a textbox field to prevent submission of an empty field. When clicking on Check In to Share Draft or Publish, this validation is done, and since I am not actually trying to submit the form, but rather check it in, I'd rather this didn't happen. How can I achieve this?   • How to reduce latency of data sent through a REST api

    I have an application which obtains data in JSON format from one of our other servers. The problem I am facing is, there is is significant delay when when requesting for this information. Since a lot of data is passed (approx 1000 records per request where each record is pretty huge) is there a way that compression would help reducing the speed. If so which compression scheme would you recommend. I read on another thread that they pattern of data also matters a lot on they type of compression that needs to be used. The pattern of data is consistent and resembles the following :desc=>some_description :url=>some_url :content=>some_content :score=>some_score :more_attributes=>more_data Can someone recommend a solution to how I could reduce this delay. They delay is approx 6-8 seconds. I'm using Ruby on Rails to develop this application and the server providing the data uses Python for the most part.

  • WebService remote invoking fails.

    I have a web service hosted on a web server, I invoke the web service using jquery ajax. The service returns results successfully when invoked locally from the server, but it fails when invoked from a remote client machine (not in the same domain). I see the request fail in the firebug returning error (401 UnAuthorized) and the response has the following error (Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/List').
