• Overwrite queryset which builds filter sidebar

  Hi, I'm writing a hockey database/manager. So I have the following models: class Team(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=60) class Game(models.Model): home_team = models.ForeignKey(Team,related_name='home_team') away_team = models.ForeignKey(Team,related_name='away_team') class SeasonStats(models.Model): team = models.ForeignKey(Team) Ok, so my problem is the following. There are a lot of teams, but Stats are just managed for my Club. So if I use "list_display" in the admin backend, I'd like to modify/overwrite the queryset which builds the sidebar for filtering, to just display our home teams as a filter option. Is this somehow possible in Django? I already made a custom form like this class SeasonPlayerStatsAdminForm(forms.ModelForm): team = forms.ModelChoiceField(Team.objects.filter(club__home=True)) So now just the filtering is missing. Any ideas?

  I'm building a website using Zend Framework and having trouble implementing modules and custom routes. There are basically two rules: Select a module based on the domain (multiple domains can select a single module) Regardless of domain, select one specific module based on path Examples: domain1.com selects module domain1 domain1.net selects module domain1 domain2.com selects module domain2 both domain1.com/admin and domain2.com/admin select module admin This is the first project where I use ZF, so my experience with the framework is basically non-existent. I have done some dirty hacking in my bootstrapper where I check the domain and than execute Zend_Layout::startMVC() to get the correct layout, but that is messed up when I'm implementing custom routes. So I was wondering what is the best way to go about implementing this?

• Forcing GWT to assume List is implemented as ArrayList

  For some reason I'm stucked with model classes using List as Collection Type and I would like to use the model on the client side. However GWT of course fails serializing java.util.List. However all implementations of List in this model are based on ArrayList. So is it possible to tell GWT to assume List is ArrayList? Edit GWT fails on compile time, since a possible candidate for List is also java.util.Collections.SingeltonList - which can not be compiled. I'm using GWT 2.1 and Java 1.6 .

  I use EF for the back-end DataLayer in my asp.net websites. I create a class library and add the Model in it, reference it and use it from the ASP.NET Website. But this time, I generated the model from database but it seems does not implement IDisposable, and the methods I used to see are not there. DeleteObject , SaveChanges etc. There are only Two tables in the DB and the Model was generated with only the TableSets and two methods AddToTableSet ... Had anybody encountered such a problem?

• .htaccess subdomain redirect problem

  Hi, I have a website let's say www.example.com and I have a subdomain something.example.com Both main domain and sub domain are pointing to directory "public_html" I have .htaccess on root which redirects any URL without www to www. For e.g. if user enters example.com then he will be redirected to www.example.com If user enters example.com/mypage.html then he will be redirected to www.example.com/mypage.html Now the problem is this is also affecting my subdomain. Because if someone enters something.example.com/visit.html then he is redirect to www.example.com/visit.html I don't want this! If user enters subdomain then I don't want to redirected to www domain. This is what I have in my .htacces file RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.stackoverflow.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.stackoverflow.com/$1 [R=301,L] Can you please tell me what should I do to solve above problem? • Why are cookies only sent to http://www.example.com and NOT http://example.com?

  I have a PHP login which sets 2 cookies once someone login. The problem is that if you login from http://www.example.com and you go to http://example.com, you will find yourself not logged in. I think that is because the browser only send the cookies to the first syntax. It is only one domain, the difference is the www. before the domain name, so how to set cookies to the whole domain whatever there is www. or not? <?php setcookie('username',$username,time()+3600); ?>

• URL of the website calling Restlet API

  I have a Restlet API and the methods exposed on it are called by a PHP web app. This web app is accessible by several domain names and depending on the domain certain aspects of the app are changed (look and feel, content etc). Is there a way for Restlet to determine the URL of the calling web app? I have used getReference() but all I can get is the (internal) IP address of the calling web server (not the domain name). My only other alternative is to pass the URL of the web app with every request to the API but it would be cleaner if Restlet already knew. Thanks

  How do I strip whitespaces (trim) from the end of a charField in Django? Here is my Model, as you can see I've tried putting in clean methods but these never get run. I've also tried doing name.strip(), models.charField().strip() but these do not work either. Is there a way to force the charField to trim automatically for me?   hi, i have a form with 2 fields username: password: and a submit button. the user will enter his username and password for a remote website(not my website or my domain. eg. Gmail.com). i want once he click the submit button.a jQuery script check these login info on gmail.com and return back the result.they are wrong or working logins. and notify the user if it is wrong logins but if it is good working login info the form will submit. i don't know much jQuery but i am good with php. my search find that in order to do that i need to make cross-domain scripting by using php proxy between my jQuery script and the remote domain. i found also the simple php proxy. which looks great.but i dont know how to make the jQuery thing that connects all this together.

  I am returning File result from action triggered by the form post event. I can't get download dialog. Instead, if I use: return File(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(reportPath), "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get path to the file upon ajax execution in the target div. When I use return File(reportPath, "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get content of the file in the target div. Any thoughts ? So does this mean that i have to implement the business and data access layrers in side model folder? And it is obviously not possible to add class libraries (business layer and Data access layer of n tier) in Model folder. As such, it seems that there would be value in having pre-build Rails applications at various functionality points such as: basic User model with authentication using Authlogic #1 + openid integration #2 + authorization using declarative_authorization #3 + Administration module #4 + a Profile model Themes (useful stylesheets and such) Friendship model Geocoding ... In addition to the basic MVC stuff, these applications would include: testing harnesses seed data git support One could choose start from any of these functionality points. Other than the sample application that are available with the various gems/plugins, are there projects such as these? If not, I would certainly be willing to contribute what I have.

CountryState model is used to store all states which is foreign key to Country model At the time of form loading i am getting all state names in dropdown while i want field to be blank by default. If name field is empty at the time of form save i am getting error that name can not be empty but also getting all states into dropdown list while i want only the states which are mapped with current selected country.

  I am setting up the Single Table Inheritance, using ContactEvent as the Model that ContactEmail, ContactLetter, and ContactCall will all inherit. But I'm stumped on how to create the routing and the controller. For example, let's say I want to create a new ContactEvent with type Email. I would like a way to do the following: new_contact_event_path(contact, email) This would take the instance from Contact model and from Email model. Inside, I would imagine the contact_event_controller would need to know... @contact_event.type = (params[:email]) # get the type based on what was passed in? @contact_event.event_id = (params[:email]) #get the id for the correct class, in this case Email.id Just not sure how this works....

  I "inherited" an old Database where dates are stored as Int32 values (times too, but dates shall suffice for this example) i.e. 20090101 for Jan. 1st 2009. I can not change the schema of this database because it is still accessed by the old programs. However I want to write a new program using EF as the O/R-M. Now I'd love to have DateTime-Values in my Model. Is there a way to write a custom type and use this as a Type in the EF-Model. Something like a Type "OldDate" with properties: DatabaseValue : Int23 Value : DateTime (specifying the date-part whereas the time-part is always 0:00:00) Is something like this possible with the EF-Model ?
