• Online Sports betting website using Drupal

  I wanted to know how suitable is Drupal for making a sports betting website similar to http://www.sportsinteraction.com/ . I am aware that there are modules like Bookmaker in Drupal which could help . However, I am puzzled about how to handle the user accounts can be extended to keep a track of the money in each individual account. Also I have with me betting scripts purchased from http://sportbettingscript.com/ . Can the same be integrated with Drupal? Wish to know your thoughts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

• Microsoft Public License in commercial Silverlight application?

  I'm developing a commercial silverlight application using some third party libraries that are published under Microsoft Public License (MPL). I have to include the license text into my product which is somewhat strange in an silverlight application. In a normal desktop application I would just include the license als a .txt but I've no idea how to do it in silverlight without including in in an about dialog or something similar. Are there any other issues involved which I missed?

• Footer height based on screen size

  Hi everyone, I would like to create a footer which is relative to the content (so not fixed), but fills the rest of the screen. So for example, on my larger monitor, the footer would start in the same place, but fill up 100px (for example). On a smaller monitor, it only needs to fill up 75px. I tried using 100%, but it causes the page to be really big and the user can scroll down and fill the entire screen with the footer. Is there a way to get it to be a bit more reasonable size, so that it just about fills the bottom of the screen? My current code is this: .footer { position:relative; //can't be fixed as content might overlap if extended height:100%; width:100%; //fill the entire screen horizontally bottom:0px; margin-top:345px; //used to make sure content doesn't overlap } Thanks for any ideas

• How can I use offline access with the Facebook javascript SDK?

  In the Facebook javascript api there is a login function in which you specify extended permissions: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/javascript/FB.login One of these permissions is offline access. So I can save the facebook user's session key and assume it will not expire for a long time. The question I have is simple - how do I use the session key? I understand that the session key will last longer, but I don't understand how to use it in the Facebook API. For one of my products, a user must restart his/her browser and I would like to recognize them when they restart. The problem is that they are logged out of facebook, so they must login on my site again where I would rather just use offline access. Sample code would be great! Thanks

  Is it possible to detect if a given string is valid regular expression, using just regular expressions? Say I have some strings, that may or may not be a valid regular expressions. I'd like to have a regular expression matches those string that correspond to valid regular expression. Is that possible? Or do I have use some higher level grammar (i.e. context free language) to detect this? Does it affect if I am using some extended version of regexps like Perl regexps? If that is possible, what the regexp matching regexp is?

• Can I get a PTypeInfo from a string?

  This is probably going to be a "no", but is there any way I can use Delphi's RTTI, either old-school or the 2010 extended RTTI, to pass in a string containing the name of a type, specifically the name of an enumerated type, and have it give me the PTypeInfo for that type? I've looked through RTTI.pas and TypInfo.pas and I don't see any function that would do that, but I might have missed something. What I'm looking for: var info: PTypeInfo; begin info := GetTypeInfoFromName('TComponentStyle'); end; Or something like that. Thing is, the name of the enumerated type would be passed in; it wouldn't be known at compile time.

  We have a requirment which requires to have an Handler that is extended from Java logging and allows to have the files rotated on daily basis. Currently Java util logging do have the support of rotation based on file size by using File Handler. And other questions are , is there way we can configure 2 different files for a single handler say FileHandler say for eg , we would like some kind of messages need to be captured in one file and other messages in other file. Would appreciate for any comments.

  I am working on expansion of my jQuery plug-in authoring knowledge, just playing around with my own ideas for learning benefits. So i was wondering how you guys tackle the need of plugin executing without any user specific input. So I have a need for plug-in that executes right away after document is ready, without any user's specific input just as long as doc is loaded, so the only way I see how to execute plug-in on it's own is to attach handler to ready listener that executes my function which I extended the jQuery with. And because this needs to be self enclosed, part of the code, I attach handler to event listener within the function. So how else could one tackle this? Any take at this is appreciated.   Hi, Due to the lack of Deployment functionality of Visual Studio Express edition, I'm here asking if anyone can recommend a very nice free Deployment template for the express edition. I'm mainly working with C# desktop project. I know that there is still ClickOnce deployment in the Express edition, but it seems to me that it is not so difficult to control, which means, you do "click once", then the tool will give you a bunch of files out of my control, not so easy to maintain.   I have a situation where our developers extended a Third party database (MS SQL) by adding tables, views, stored procedures, and functions. Recently when the vender issued updates to the database they dropped all of our custom objects. The question now is what are some best practices that will allow us to extend the third party database but keep our objects safe from future updates? My first thought is to create a separate database but then I’m stuck with fully qualifying all the references back to the original database which may cause issues promoting database changes from test to production.

In my case it prevents mysql from using what seems to be a perfectly good index. But it's not about fixing that specific query (as it is an irrelevant test).   I have extended via extension point (add menus and functionnalities) an already existing plugin which has it's own product definition file and it's own class Application implements IApplication. I want to create a Product Configuration(customize splash screen,etc...). Does my plugin need an Application class? I want my plugin to be independant, Standalone with a launcher. Not a fragment.   Hi All, i am getting a weird problem. i am using OLEDB for excel connection with connection string = Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\Execute.xls;Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;"); excel file contains columns with string/integer values. the problem is that sometimes connection read values from sheet absolutly fine but sometimes it missed out some data values and shows them as System.DBNull. the behavior is very inconsistent. please help.

  i was looking for some namespace extention to extend using c# (.net) but didn't find much help online except Galaxy Filesystem tooklkit. which are vc++ based but comes with c# and java wrapper classes... which helps me alot to start and i did. i have extended that enough now and made installer to install. it get installed successfully but don't know why, when i open it, system get stuck... :( i thought my modified version might have some problem so i tried to run Galaxy filesystem toolkit's author original version and it responded in same way as mine do :D :( now feeling bit helpless as even author is not responding my queries regarding my queries for some reason... any help would be really appreciated.... FYI: i need to have Gmail drive like stuff...

• App logicstics & changes due to scope creep

  I started an app that was initially a testing platform--user management, and managers that can view their employees tests. Recently, functionality has been extended (not built yet) to allow users to complete a test in place of an employee--basically adding a record, but no user. I have three tables in use for this: users(contains user info for login/security), profiles (all personal info: address, height, etc.), and survey (contains survey answers for user). How do I extend my application to encompass this functionality with minimal change to the structure? I assume that the best way to do this would be to insert records to the tables profiles and survey, and have no username/password/email? There MUST be a user_id associated b/c the tables are linked through the user_ids...

• Xcode preferences across multiple computers?

  I run Xcode on both my laptop and desktop. I'm constantly tweaking my setup with regards to key bindings. Rather than try to get both configurations identical by hand, is there any way to create the configuration on one computer and then share it via dropbox (for example) for the other to use? Perhaps by symlinking the laptop's configuration file to one stored on dropbox? Very curious how others handle this situation.

On the extended downloads page, version 2.0.3 is deprecated. Am I launching it the wrong server executable, or are there plans to support a more recent version of Redis?
