  hi I am using Android 2.2 . I am unable to connect my emulator to internet . When I open my web browser in the emulator it shows the message "Web Page not available" . I have set proxy settings in the emulator (settings - Wireless & Networks -Mobile Networks - Access Point Names). Also , I set proxy settings in eclipse (Windows- Preferences- Android- Launch- Default Emulator Options). I have read many blogs and forums but I haven't found any solution yet .I am really frustrated . Please help me out. Abhijeet

• Using jQuery to listen for an AJAX load that is not loaded using jQuery.AJAX

  Okay, have a bit of a tricky one (for me anyway, i'm pretty rubbish at jQuery/JavaScript). I'm pulling in data using standard AJAX (ie, NOT using a framework like jQuery or whatnot... there is a reason for it) However, I then need to load up a jQuery script as soon as the page has been loaded in. So, here is the question, how do I bind the script once the DOM has been updated? I have been using Ariel Fleser's listen plugin (http://flesler.blogspot.com/2007/10/jquerylisten.html) for picking up on events such as clicks which works a treat, but I can't see how this can be used to listen for a load event. Any ideas? I'm pretty stumped on this one!!

  We're developing applications for AppExchange and are trying to figure out the best way to do development and release management. There are several issues around this: 1) Package Prefixes. We are developing code in unmanaged mode and releasing as managed, so we have to add all the package prefixes into the code. Is there a way to do this dynamically at runtime? Right now we're using an Ant script, which stops us benefitting from the force.com IDE plugin. 2) Resource files... We are doing some ajax-ey stuff and as a result have a few different resource files we upload, some of which are multiple file resources (zip files). Has anyone automated the building of these resources using ANT, and does that work well? Our environment seems very fragile and works for some developers and not others; have other people had this problem? How did you resolve it?

• Regasm writes mscoree.dll into Registry key InprocServer32

  When I register my .NET Assembly with regasm.exe the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{111E32AD-4BF8-495F-AB4D-6C61BD463EA4}\InprocServer32 is set to "mscoree.dll". However, I am trying to mimic an existing COM-Server that was written in C. When registering this old COM-server the InprocServer32 is set to the full path to this component. Unfortunately the existing system (a plugin host that I can not change) reads and use this value - an is confused by the "mscoree.dll" value. My solution might be to patch this registry entry manually - but I would like to understand why regasm writes "mscoree.dll" into InprocServer32 .

• jQuery: how to produce a ProgressBar from given markup

  So I'm using the ProgressBar JQuery plugin (http://t.wits.sg/misc/jQueryProgressBar/demo.php) to create some static progress bars. What I want to achieve is to from this markup: <span class="progress-bar">10 / 100</span> produce a progress bar with maximum value of 100 and current value of 10. I am using html() method to get the contents of the span and then split() to get the two numbers: $(document).ready(function() { $(".progress-bar").progressBar($(this).html().split(' / ')[0], { max: $(this).html().split(' / ')[1], textFormat: 'fraction' }); }); That doesn't work, any suggestions? I'm pretty sure the problem is with $(this).html().split(' / ')[0] and $(this).html().split(' / ')[1], is that a correct syntax?

• StreamWriter Problem - 2 Spaces Written as Hex '20 c2 a0' instead of Hex '20 20'

  I'm writing a bunch of strings to a file using a string writer but I've discovered a problem when I look at the file created in hex, and that is that one of the spaces (x20) is replaced with a non-breaking space instead (xc2 a0) when there are 2 spaces separating words. I don't know if this is a big deal but I would like to know if there is an easy resolution to this? Here's what I'm seeing: 20 c2 a0 53 57 45 45 50 Dump = "  SWEEP" But I would like it to always be: 20 20 53 57 45 45 50 Dump = " SWEEP" Note that the c2 a0 aren't visible here but the dump looks something like 'A.' when I use the Notepad++ Hex Plugin.   Is it possible (and does it make sense) to use the JDO Level 2 Cache for the Google App Engine Datastore? First of all, why is there no documentation about this on Google's pages? Are there some problems with it? Do we need to set up limits to protect our memcache quota? According to DataNucleus on Stackoverflow, you can set the following persistence properties: datanucleus.cache.level2.type=javax.cache datanucleus.cache.level2.cacheName={cache name} Is that all? Can we choose any cache name? Other sources on the Internet report using different settings. Also, it seems we need to download the DataNucleus Cache support plugin. Which version would be appropriate? And do we just place it in WEB-INF/lib or does it need more setup to activate it?

  Hi , I am looking at validation of some text boxes for somethings like required, minlength, max length, email etc... I am able to get examples that work fine on submit button on page. I want to do this validation on a button click which will only raise a ajax request and not submit of page. On internet all the sample is found was with submit button. Is there a easy way to change this code a little bit o make it work for non submit button click or any new jquery or java plugin to do the same. I am using the jquery.validation.js for now. This works with submit buttons. Any kind of help with suggestion or help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• ANTLR parser hanging at proxy.handshake call

  I am attempting to get a basic ECMAScript parser working, and found a complete ANTLR grammar for ECMAScript 3, which appears to compile ok and produces the appropriate Lexer/Parser/Walker Java files. (Running inside ANTLR IDE plugin for Eclipse 3.5) However, when actually trying to use it with some simple test code (following guide on ANTLR wiki), it just hangs when trying to create the parser: CharStream MyChars = new ANTLRFileStream(FileName); // FileName is valid ES3Lexer MyLexer = new ES3Lexer(MyChars); CommonTokenStream MyTokens = new CommonTokenStream(MyLexer); MyTokens.setTokenSource(MyLexer); ES3Parser MyParser = new ES3Parser( MyTokens ); // hangs here ES3Parser.program_return MyReturn = MyParser.program(); I've tracked down the problem to inside the ES3Parser constructor, where it's calling the function proxy.handshake() - before this line I can successfully do System.out.println("text") but after it I get nothing. So, how do I go about finding out why it's hanging, and stopping it - or even just bypassing this section (can/should I disable debugging?) - so long as that lets it work and allows me to get on with doing useful stuff.

• Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

  Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike).   Hi all. I am trying to build a Hudson plugin I've modified and it requires jdk1.6. This is fine, but I don't see how I can tell maven where the different jdk is. I've found few mentions on the internet but they don't seem to apply to me. Some suggest adding some config to .m2/settings.xml but I don't have a settings.xml. Plus, I don't want to use 1.6 for all maven builds. One kink is I am using mvn in cygwin, if that matters at all. It appears I should be able to make the specification in the project pom file, but the existing pom is pretty bare. So bottom line is, is there a way to specify a jdk for a single invocation of maven?

All versions can't work now. I delete everything expect eclipse,download adt, AndroidSDK, platform2.3/2.2 ,still error. Heeeelp!!!

  Hello, I have been using ANTLR to generate a parser + tree grammar for a mark up language with Java target which works fine. Now I am trying to get the target in JavaScript to use it in my web browser. However, I have not been able to locate any good documentation on how to go about doing this. I am using eclipse with ANTLR IDE, and when i specify the language as JavaScript, I get the following errors. Multiple markers at this line (10): internal error: group JavaScript does not satisfy interface ANTLRCore: mismatched arguments on these templates [treeParser(grammar, name, scopes, tokens, tokenNames, globalAction, rules, numRules, bitsets, labelType, ASTLabelType, superClass, members, filterMode)] (10): internal error: java.util.NoSuchElementException: no such attribute: filterMode in template context [treeParser] If anyone could help me out with this or point me to some material which I could read about the JavaScript target with ANTLR, it would be great. • Replicate behavior of Android browser

  Hi all, I am writing for Android, and I can't figure out how to replicate the effect of the Android browser where the progress bar is at the top of the screen, with the webview below it, yet when you scroll down, the bar scrolls with the page. I've tried placing both the webview and the progress bar into a scrollview, but when I do that, the webview becomes completely unresponsive and will not load (or respond to any commands, for that matter). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! P.S., I'm using the Eclipse IDE, and I'd like to to continue using the 1.5 SDK if possible to maintain backwards compatibility (and just to be able use my own application -- my phone isn't getting 2.1 for a couple of months).

• Fail to profile remote java app using TPTP

  Hi all, I am trying to profile CPU usage using TPTP. Application to profile run on Linux RH AS5. I installed and configured Agent Controller like described here I ran the java application using the command java '-agentlib:JPIBootLoader=JPIAgent:server=standalone,file=log.trcxml;CGProf' MyApp The monitoring station is All-In-one TPTP version 4.6.2. I followed the stepes described here on Eclipse - on the "Profile Configuration" I choose a new configuration for "Attach to Agent", set the host to my remote linux machine where MyApp is running, test connection succeed and when I get to the "Agents" tab, I see "Pending...", a background process "Feching children for host" is running and can't find anything which makes it impossible to profile. Any idea?

  Hi Team, Using: http://home.aland.net/sundman/ to split a complex form in to 4 steps. As well as as the 'next, back and submit' form buttons, I have created a menu above the form: step 1, step 2, step 3, step 4 linking to the hash tags #: #, #1, #2, #3 so the visitor can decide which step they want to view / edit. This works fine in firefox, but in IE and Chrome it does not seem to work. Anyone have experience with hte jQuery history plugin that can tell me the best way to accomplish this? I would like to link to the form but it is in a password protected area and subject to our NDA. If need be I could try and replicate the issue with a form on our server and link here. Thanks, Jack

• Using Kate with Simple Build Tool (SBT)

  Hello I am working with the Kate editor based on the lack of other good tools for Scala development, I am also using IntelliJ however it still has some bugs, and are slow enough to make me impatient. I have just startet using both Kate and SBT, and in that regard I have a little challenge I hope there is an answer for out there on "The Internet". I am using the standard "Build plugin" in Kate and has changed the commands from make to sbt. This works fine, and I am also getting a error report when the sbt fails during compile time. However I really wish to know if it is possible to integrate the compile errors into Kate such that it would be shown under "Errors and Warnings" instead of just in the output tab, where I have to do a manual search for the compile errors. Im guessing that it has something to do with the format of the output, if that is the case maybe it is "just" a smaller adjustment I need to make to the parsing language.

  hello I building my project using GWT plugin for eclipse Galileo, after i done from RPC between the server and client, i trying to make a reference from gwt server side to normal java class in non-gwt-project, but every time i make an object from the class (which in non-gwt-project) gives me ClassNotFoundException. i did the buildpath for the gwt project, but still gives me the same exception, is there a way to make that from server side (not from client side). i need help please, i spent a lot of time searching for solution but i did not found anything. i appreciate any suggestions...thanks

• Is it possible to filter by conditions before paginating?

  I'm using ruby on rails 2.3.8 and will_paginate plugin. I've just noticed that if I write something like this: Announcement.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 10, :conditions => some_condition it will work. But, if I write something like this: announcements = Announcement.all :conditions => some_condition @ann = announcements.paginate :page => params[:page], :per_page => 10 it won't recognize conditions. Maybe you're wondering "why would he want to do that?", well, it's a long story and I really need to first filter the conditions and then paginate the results.

  I have some c# source that I want to compile using CodeDom within my application (for a plugin) Everything works fine, except if I use a Linq extension function on some of my collections var dict = new Dictionary<KeyType, ValueType>(); .... dict.Any(KV=>KV.Key == "Some Key); When I try to compile source that has this code, it CodeDom complains that I am missing a reference to DependencyObject in WindowsBase. I do not understand why this is happening. Neither the Dictionary class, or the Any extension method reference that class, which apparently is part of Windows.Forms I would normally just ignore the quirk, make the CodeDom add a reference and move on, but Apparently WindowsBase is special and is not always distributed and I don't want to cause issues for users that may not have it installed correctly.

• Host a streaming video in my client, from a streaming url that is behind a login session?

  I am building a Silverlight 4 desktop client to show streaming video from a site that is login based. So that website has a Silverlight player that does streaming video, the player is behind a login sesion, so just by getting the url from fiddler and trying to play it in my Silverlight 4 desktop client won't work. Actually after that, I want to build a Windows Media Center plugin to build a Netflix-like client, that allows login through WMC and then allows you to watch streaming video. Any pointers on how to go about doing any of this?
