  • pre tag is being formatted strangely in page

    I am outputting some code in one of my pages, using a <pre> tag. The code is being output correctly, but for some strange reason, the first line of the code is indented (i.e. shifted to the right, by quite a large amount). I am not applying any style to that element, and I checked in FF Firebug and no styling is being applied, so I have no idea why the first line is shifted by so much to the right - any ideas? the code that generates the tag looks like this: <pre> <?php echo $script_code; ?> </pre> The generated code looks like this: <iframe src="http://www.example.com"> </iframe> Any ideas what may be going wrong?

    What's the best way to get a regular anchor (<a href="...">) to submit the form it is embedded in when clicked? <form> <ul> <li> <p> The link could be <span>embedded <a href="" onclick="?">at any level</a></span> in the form, so "this.parentNode.parentNode..." is no good. :( </p> </li> </ul> </form> I know that the easiest way using jQuery would be $('#myLink').click(function() { $(this).parents('form:first').submit(); }); ...but I'm trying to find a way to do this without using a library. Edit: I'm really trying to find a method which doesn't require knowledge of the form (eg: its name, id, etc). This would be similar to how you could put this on an input element: <input onclick="this.form.submit()" />

  • How can I hide this overlay element intelligently?

    The site I'm working on has a collection of navigation elements across the top ("Products", "Company", etc.). When you mouse over the Products link, an overlay appears that shows a list of products with links to each. There's a small link at the top of the container that, when clicked, closes the container. All of this works as advertised. The client has asked that, once a user's mouse pointer is a sufficient distance from the overlay element, the overlay element would close (without them having to click the 'close' link). This element appears on multiple pages that have disparate content, so I'm afraid it won't be as simple as adding a mouseover listener to another single element within the page and have it work everywhere. My question, I suppose, is this: is there a relatively easy way to know when the mouse cursor is x pixels away from this container and trigger an event when this occurs? My other thought is that I could just find several elements on the page that fit this criteria and add mouseover listeners to each, but I'm assuming there's a more elegant way of handling this. Thanks in advance - and please let me know if more detail is needed.

    Hi, I have a page, and I just added pagination to it, but there's a prob in IE 7 & 8.   • Jquery Dropdown queue buildup problem

    Hello, I have created a drop down with JQuery that can be seen here by clicking the Preview button on top: http://jsbin.com/ubire3/edit It works fine except for one problem. When i hover over the main hover links (blue ones) quickly eg going horizontally quickly hovering each top menu, the some submenus don't close. How do i make it so that even if i hover fast over them all other submenus are closed? Thanks.

    [I'm not sure if this question has been asked, though I've looked around a bit.] I have a DIV inside a DIV. I would like the inner DIV to have a certain position inside the outer div. I'm having some success with this position: absolute; top: 0px;right:0px; but all other divs are getting moved around. I just want it to float on top of the other stuff (float didn't work, of course). Thanks! Edit: The outer div is relative, and I'd like the inner to move with it when the browser is resized. Edit: Sorry, I've figured out the question (but not the answer): if I use right:0px, the inner div stops moving relative to the outer div and starts moving relative to the browser window. Why would that be?

  • Image on mouseover takes space on PageLoad.

    Hello, I am trying to show an image on Mouseover and hide it on Mouseout. I am successful in mouseover and mouseout but the image is actually taking the space around the text though i have visibility as hidden.. The text is surrounded with the space of image but the image is displayed on mouseover.   • Reducing lag when downloading large amount of data from webpage

    I am getting data via RSS feeds and displaying each article in a table view cell. Each cell has an image view, set to a default image. If the page has an image, the image is to be replaced with the image from the article. As of now, each cell downloads the source code from the web page, causing the app to lag when I push the view controller and when I try scrolling.     I am currently making a temporary download page for website visitor. The page includes a form, after the visitor fills the form up, the site will take them to the pdf download page. In the download page, there are some pdf files download links (I am just using a tag.). However, i wanna make a onclick event to those links, once they have been clicked, the page will refresh automatically or redirect to other pages. <a href="/file.pdf" onClick="window.location.reload()">The File</a> I have tried the jquery way as well. <a href="/file.pdf" id="FileDownload">The File</a> <script> $("#FileDownload").click(function(){ location.reload(); }); </script> But all the them are not working. Do you masters have any good ideas about this, many thanks. P.S. What if I wanna add a countdown after a file is being started download, and then do page reload when countdown finishes.     I have a classifieds website. In every classified, there is a back link which simply takes the browser back one step. This is because when users search classifieds, and click on one to view it, they can easily go back with a link also (instead of only the browser back button). Here is the problem, if the classified is entered directly into the adress bar of a browser, or if somebody bookmarked a classified, then this back-link would take them someplace else... Is there any way of making sure that the previous page is a certain page (index.php in my case)? This way I would only display the back link if the previous page was index.php... Thanks

    I have an arrow on my site that I'd like if onclick, it hides one element, and shows another. Hitting it again, will hide the element that was shown and show the element that was hidden. Is that possible to do without jQuery?
