  • XNA Xbox 360 Content Manager Thread freezing Draw Thread

    - by Alikar
I currently have a game that takes in large images, easily bigger than 1MB, to serve as backgrounds. I know exactly when this transition is supposed to take place, so I made a loader class to handle loading these large images in the background, but when I load the images it still freezes the main thread where the drawing takes place. Since this code runs on the 360 I move the thread to the 4th hardware thread, but that doesn't seem to help. Below is the class I am using. Any thoughts as to why my new content manager which should be in its own thread is interrupting the draw in my main thread would be appreciated. namespace FileSystem { /// <summary> /// This is used to reference how many objects reference this texture. /// Everytime someone references a texture we increase the iNumberOfReferences. /// When a class calls remove on a specific texture we check to see if anything /// else is referencing the class, if it is we don't remove it. • How to use Parcel in Android?

    - by Mike
I'm trying to use Parcel to write and then read back a Parcelable. For some reason, when I read the object back from the file, it's coming back as null. public void testFoo() { final Foo orig = new Foo("blah blah"); // Wrote orig to a parcel and then byte array final Parcel p1 = Parcel.obtain(); p1.writeValue(orig); final byte[] bytes = p1.marshall(); // Check to make sure that the byte array seems to contain a Parcelable assertEquals(4, bytes[0]); // Parcel.VAL_PARCELABLE // Unmarshall a Foo from that byte array final Parcel p2 = Parcel.obtain(); p2.unmarshall(bytes, 0, bytes.length); final Foo result = (Foo) p2.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); assertNotNull(result); // FAIL assertEquals( orig.str, result.str ); } protected static class Foo implements Parcelable { protected static final Parcelable.Creator<Foo> CREATOR = new Parcelable.Creator<Foo>() { public Foo createFromParcel(Parcel source) { final Foo f = new Foo(); f.str = (String) source.readValue(Foo.class.getClassLoader()); return f; } public Foo[] newArray(int size) { throw new UnsupportedOperationException(); } }; public String str; public Foo() { } public Foo( String s ) { str = s; } public int describeContents() { return 0; } public void writeToParcel(Parcel dest, int ignored) { dest.writeValue(str); } } What am I missing? UPDATE: To simplify the test I've removed the reading and writing of files in my original example.

  • ASP.NET MVC2 : How to use radiobuttons in a grid ?

    - by Stef
    Again a question about RadioButtons/ RadionButtonList I've the following Model: public class **SkillLevelModel** { public long? Id { get; set; } public int? SelectedLevel { get; set;} } I've the following Controller: public class SkillController : BaseController { public ActionResult Index() { var skills = new List<SkillLevelModel>(); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) skills.Add(new SkillLevelModel() { Id = i, SelectedLevel = new Random().Next(0,5) }); return View(skills); } I've the following code in the View: <% foreach (var item in Model) { %> <tr> <td style="width: 30px" align="center"> <%= Html.Encode(item.Id) %> </td> <td> <% Html.RenderPartial("UCSkillLevel", item); %> </td> </tr> <% } %> I've the following code in the PartialView: <% for (int i = 0; i <= 5; i++) { %> <td align="center"> <%= Html.RadioButton("SelectedLevel", i, new { id = Model.Id + "_" + i })%> </td> <% } %> The problem is that no radiobutton is checked, althought they have a level. What's wrong here?

  • Android - Images from Assets folder in a GridView

    - by Saran
Hi, I have been working on creating a Grid View of images, with images being present in the Assets folder. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1933015/opening-an-image-file-inside-the-assets-folder link helped me with using the bitmap to read it. The code am currently having is: public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { try { AssetManager am = mContext.getAssets(); String list[] = am.list(""); int count_files = imagelist.length; for(int i= 0;i<=count_files; i++) { BufferedInputStream buf = new BufferedInputStream(am.open(list[i])); Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(buf); imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap); buf.close(); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } My application does read the image from the Assets folder, but it is not iterating through the cells in the grid view. All the cells of the grid view have a same image picked from the set of images. Can anyone tell me how to iterate through the cells and still have different images ? I have the above code in an ImageAdapter Class which extends the BaseAdapter class, and in my main class I am linking that with my gridview by: GridView gv =(GridView)findViewById(R.id.gridview); gv.setAdapter(new ImageAdapter(this, assetlist)); Thanks a lot for any help in advance, Saran

  • Actionscript 3: Force program to wait until event handler is called

However, if the getMapwidth function gets called before it finishes loading, the program will fail. How can I make the class wait to accept function calls until after the file is loaded?

ViewModel: public class CategoriesDisplay { public CategoriesDisplay() { } public int CategoryID { set; get; } public string CategoryTitle { set; get; } } #2 (Brown box) - displays last x articles; skips those from green box #3. Viewmodel: public class ArticleDisplay { public ArticleDisplay() { } public int CategoryID { set; get; } public string CategoryTitle { set; get; } public int ArticleID { set; get; } public string ArticleTitle { set; get; } public string URLArticleTitle { set; get; } public DateTime ArticleDate; public string ArticleContent { set; get; } } #3 (green box) - Displays last x articles. Uses the same ViewModel as brown box #2 #4 (blue box) - Displays list of upcoming events. Uses dataContext.Model.Event as ViewModel Boxes #1, #2 and #4 will repeat all over the site and they are part of Master Page. So, my question is: what is the best way to transfer this data from Model to Controller and finally to View pages? Should I make a controller for master page and ViewModel class that will wrap all this classes together OR Should I create partial Views for every of these boxes and make each of them inherit appropriate class (if it is even possible that it works this way?) OR Should I put this repeated code in all controllers and all additional data transfer via ViewData, which would be probably the worse way :) OR There is maybe a better and more simple way but I don't know/see it? Thanks in advance, Ile

  • Grails - Simple hasMany Problem - Using CheckBoxes rather than HTML Select in create.gsp

    - by gav
My problem is this: I want to create a grails domain instance, defining the 'Many' instances of another domain that it has. I have the actual source in a Google Code Project but the following should illustrate the problem. class Person { String name static hasMany[skills:Skill] static constraints = { id (visible:false) skills (nullable:false, blank:false) } } class Skill { String name String description static constraints = { id (visible:false) name (nullable:false, blank:false) description (nullable:false, blank:false) } } If you use this model and def scaffold for the two Controllers then you end up with a form like this that doesn't work; My own attempt to get this to work enumerates the Skills as checkboxes and looks like this; But when I save the Volunteer the skills are null! This is the code for my save method; def save = { log.info "Saving: " + params.toString() def skills = params.skills log.info "Skills: " + skills def volunteerInstance = new Volunteer(params) log.info volunteerInstance if (volunteerInstance.save(flush: true)) { flash.message = "${message(code: 'default.created.message', args: [message(code: 'volunteer.label', default: 'Volunteer'), volunteerInstance.id])}" redirect(action: "show", id: volunteerInstance.id) log.info volunteerInstance } else { render(view: "create", model: [volunteerInstance: volunteerInstance]) } } This is my log output (I have custom toString() methods); 2010-05-10 21:06:41,494 [http-8080-3] INFO bumbumtrain.VolunteerController - Saving: ["skills":["1", "2"], "name":"Ian", "_skills":["", ""], "create":"Create", "action":"save", "controller":"volunteer"] 2010-05-10 21:06:41,495 [http-8080-3] INFO bumbumtrain.VolunteerController - Skills: [1, 2] 2010-05-10 21:06:41,508 [http-8080-3] INFO bumbumtrain.VolunteerController - Volunteer[ id: null | Name: Ian | Skills [Skill[ id: 1 | Name: Carpenter ] , Skill[ id: 2 | Name: Sound Engineer ] ]] Note that in the final log line the right Skills have been picked up and are part of the object instance. When the volunteer is saved the 'Skills' are ignored and not commited to the database despite the in memory version created clearly does have the items. Is it not possible to pass the Skills at construction time? There must be a way round this? I need a single form to allow a person to register but I want to normalise the data so that I can add more skills at a later time. If you think this should 'just work' then a link to a working example would be great. If I use the HTML Select then it works fine! Such as the following to make the Create page; <tr class="prop"> <td valign="top" class="name"> <label for="skills"><g:message code="volunteer.skills.label" default="Skills" /></label> </td> <td valign="top" class="value ${hasErrors(bean: volunteerInstance, field: 'skills', 'errors')}"> <g:select name="skills" from="${uk.co.bumbumtrain.Skill.list()}" multiple="yes" optionKey="id" size="5" value="${volunteerInstance?.skills}" /> </td> </tr> But I need it to work with checkboxes like this; <tr class="prop"> <td valign="top" class="name"> <label for="skills"><g:message code="volunteer.skills.label" default="Skills" /></label> </td> <td valign="top" class="value ${hasErrors(bean: volunteerInstance, field: 'skills', 'errors')}"> <g:each in="${skillInstanceList}" status="i" var="skillInstance"> <label for="${skillInstance?.name}"><g:message code="${skillInstance?.name}.label" default="${skillInstance?.name}" /></label> <g:checkBox name="skills" value="${skillInstance?.id.toString()}"/> </g:each> </td> </tr> The log output is exactly the same! With both style of form the Volunteer instance is created with the Skills correctly referenced in the 'Skills' variable. When saving, the latter fails with a null reference exception as shown at the top of this question. Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance! Gav

  • Using pinvoke in c# to call sprintf and friends on 64-bit

    - by bde
I am having an interesting problem with using pinvoke in C# to call _snwprintf. It works for integer types, but not for floating point numbers. This is on 64-bit Windows, it works fine on 32-bit. My code is below, please keep in mind that this is a contrived example to show the behavior I am seeing. class Program { [DllImport("msvcrt.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl)] private static extern int _snwprintf([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPWStr)] StringBuilder str, uint length, String format, int p); [DllImport("msvcrt.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl)] private static extern int _snwprintf([MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPWStr)] StringBuilder str, uint length, String format, double p); static void Main(string[] args) { Double d = 1.0f; Int32 i = 1; Object o = (object)d; StringBuilder str = new StringBuilder(); _snwprintf(str, 32, "%10.1f", (Double)o); Console.WriteLine(str.ToString()); o = (object)i; _snwprintf(str, 32, "%10d", (Int32)o); Console.WriteLine(str.ToString()); Console.ReadKey(); } } The output of this program is 0.0 1 It should print 1.0 on the first line and not 0.0, and so far I am stumped.

  • Call functions in AutoIt DLL using Python ctypes

    - by Josh
I want to call functions from an AutoIt dll, that I found at C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\AutoItX\AutoItX3.dll using Python. I know I could use win32com.client.Dispatch("AutoItX3.Control") but I can't install the application or register anything in the system. So far, this is where I am: from ctypes import * path = r"C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\AutoItX\AutoItX3.dll" autoit = windll.LoadLibrary(path) Here are the methods that works: autoit.AU3_WinMinimizeAll() # windows were successfully minimized. autoit.AU3_Sleep(1000) # sleeps 1 sec. Here is my problem, python is crashing when I call other methods like this one. I get python.exe has stopped working from windows... autoit.AU3_WinGetHandle('Untitled - Notepad', '') And some other methods are not crashing python but are just not working. This one doesn't close the window and return 0: autoit.AU3_WinClose('Untitled - Notepad', '') And this other one return 1 but the window is still minimized: autoit.AU3_WinActivate('Untitled - Notepad', '') I've tested the examples with with Dispatch("AutoItX3.Control") and everything is working like expected. It seems like methods that should return something other than a string are crashing python. But still, others like WinClose are not even working... Thank you in advance for your help! EDIT: These methods are now working when using unicode strings: autoit.AU3_WinClose(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'') autoit.AU3_WinActivate(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'') And I found the prototype for AU3_WinGetHandle: AU3_API void WINAPI AU3_WinGetHandle(const char szTitle, /[in,defaultvalue("")]*/const char *szText, char *szRetText, int nBufSize); Now I see that I should get the handle from szRetText but I am not sure how... I tried the following without success: from ctypes.wintypes import LPCWSTR, INT, POINTER AU3_WinGetHandle.argtypes = (LPCWSTR, LPCWSTR, POINTER(LPCWSTR), INT) s = c_wchar_p() print AU3_WinGetHandle(u'Untitled - Notepad', u'', byref(s), 100) # prints 1 print s # prints c_wchar_p(u'') Any idea how to retrive the handle from szRetText?

  • How to mix C++ Qt objects and Qt Jambi objects

    - by Dan
Hi, I'm trying to combine some existing Qt code written in C++ with some code written in Java using Qt Jambi, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. I'm basically trying to acieve two things: Pass a QObject from C++ to Java using JNI Pass a Qt Jambi QObject from Java to C++ It looks like I can pass the pointer directly and then wrap it in QNativePointer on the Java side, but I can't figure out how to turn a QNativePointer back into the original object, wrapped by Qt Jambi. Eg: I can pass a QWidget* as a long to Java and then create a QNativePointer in Java, but how can I then construct a QWidget out of this? QJambiObject and QObject dont seem to have a "setNativePointer" method and I'm not sure how to convert it. In C++: QWidget* widget = ... jclass cls = env->FindClass("Test"); jmethodID mid = env->GetStaticMethodID(cls, "test", "(I)V"); env->CallStaticVoidMethod(cls, mid, int(widget)); In Java: public class Test { public static void test (int ptr) { QNativePointer pointer = new QNativePointer(QNativePointer.Type.Int); pointer.setIntValue(ptr); QWidget widget = ... Thanks!

  • Android: get current location from best available provider

    - by AP257
Hi all, I have some Android code that needs to get the best available location QUICKLY, from GPS, network or whatever is available. Accuracy is less important than speed. Getting the best available location is surely a really standard task. Yet I can't find any code to demonstrate it. The Android location code expects you to specify criteria, register for updates, and wait - which is fine if you have detailed criteria and don't mind waiting around. But my app needs to work a bit more like the Maps app does when it first locates you - work from any available provider, and just check the location isn't wildly out of date or null. I've attempted to roll my own code to do this, but am having problems. (It's inside an IntentService where an upload happens, if that makes any difference. I've included all the code for info.) What's wrong with this code? @Override protected void onHandleIntent(Intent arg0) { testProviders(); doUpload(); } private boolean doUpload() { int j = 0; // check if we have accurate location data yet - wait up to 30 seconds while (j < 30) { if ((latString == "") || (lonString == "")) { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "latlng null"); Thread.sleep(1000); j++; } else { Log.d(LOG_TAG, "found lat " + latString + " and lon " + lonString); break; } //do the upload here anyway, with or without location data //[code removed for brevity] } public boolean testProviders() { Log.e(LOG_TAG, "testProviders"); String location_context = Context.LOCATION_SERVICE; locationmanager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(location_context); List<String> providers = locationmanager.getProviders(true); for (String provider : providers) { Log.e(LOG_TAG, "registering provider " + provider); listener = new LocationListener() { public void onLocationChanged(Location location) { // keep checking the location - until we have // what we need //if (!checkLoc(location)) { Log.e(LOG_TAG, "onLocationChanged"); locationDetermined = checkLoc(location); //} } public void onProviderDisabled(String provider) { } public void onProviderEnabled(String provider) { } public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) { } }; locationmanager.requestLocationUpdates(provider, 0, 0, listener); } Log.e(LOG_TAG, "getting updates"); return true; } private boolean checkLoc(Location location) { float tempAccuracy = location.getAccuracy(); int locAccuracy = (int) tempAccuracy; Log.d(LOG_TAG, "locAccuracy = " + locAccuracy); if ((locAccuracy != 0) && (locAccuracy < LOCATION_ACCURACY)) { latitude = location.getLatitude(); longitude = location.getLongitude(); latString = latitude.toString(); lonString = longitude.toString(); return true; } return false; } public void removeListeners() { // Log.e(LOG_TAG, "removeListeners"); if ((locationmanager != null) && (listener != null)) { locationmanager.removeUpdates(listener); } locationmanager = null; // Log.d(LOG_TAG, "Removed " + listener.toString()); } @Override public void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); removeListeners(); } Unfortunately, this finds the network provider, but only ever outputs latlng null 30 times - it never seems to get a location at all. I never even get a log statement of locationChanged. It's funny, because from ddms I can see output like: NetworkLocationProvider: onCellLocationChanged [305,8580] NetworkLocationProvider: getNetworkLocation(): returning cache location with accuracy 75.0 seeming to suggest that the network provider does have some location info after all, I'm just not getting at it. Can anyone help? I think working example code would be a useful resource for the Android/StackOverflow community.

  • Object oriented design suggestion

    - by pocoa
Here is my code: class Soldier { public: Soldier(const string &name, const Gun &gun); string getName(); private: Gun gun; string name; }; class Gun { public: void fire(); void load(int bullets); int getBullets(); private: int bullets; } I need to call all the member functiosn of Gun over a Soldier object. Something like: soldier.gun.fire(); or soldier.getGun().load(15); So which one is a better design? Hiding the gun object as a private member and access it with getGun() function. Or making it a public member? Or I can encapsulate all these functions would make the implementation harder: soldier.loadGun(15); // calls Gun.load() soldier.fire(); // calls Gun.fire() So which one do you think is the best?

  • Passing an array argument from Excel VBA to a WCF service

    - by PrgTrdr
I'm trying to pass an array as an argument to my WCF service. To test this using Damian's sample code, I modified GetData it to try to pass an array of ints instead of a single int as an argument: using System; using System.ServiceModel; namespace WcfService1 { [ServiceContract] public interface IService1 { [OperationContract] string GetData(int[] value); [OperationContract] object[] GetSomeObjects(); } } using System; namespace WcfService1 { public class Service1 : IService1 { public string GetData(int[] value) { return string.Format("You entered: {0}", value[0]); } public object[] GetSomeObjects() { return new object[] { "String", 123, 44.55, DateTime. Now }; } } } Excel VBA code: Dim addr As String addr = "service:mexAddress=""net.tcp://localhost:7891/Test/WcfService1/Service1/Mex""," addr = addr + "address=""net.tcp://localhost:7891/Test/WcfService1/Service1/""," addr = addr + "contract=""IService1"", contractNamespace=""http://tempuri.org/""," addr = addr + "binding=""NetTcpBinding_IService1"", bindingNamespace=""http://tempuri.org/""" Dim service1 As Object Set service1 = GetObject(addr) Dim Sectors( 0 to 2 ) as Integer Sectors(0) = 10 MsgBox service1.GetData(Sectors) This code works fine with the WCF Test Client, but when I try to use it from Excel, I have this problem. When Excel gets to the service1.GetData call, it reports the following error: Run-time error '-2147467261 (80004003)' Automation error Invalid Pointer It looks like there is some incompatibility between the interface specification and the VBA call. Have you ever tried to pass an array from VBA into WCF? Am I doing something wrong or is this not supported using the Service moniker?

  • How can I validate the result in an ASP.NET MVC editor template?

    - by Morten Christiansen
I have created an editor template for representing selecting from a dynamic dropdown list and it works as it should except for validation, which I have been unable to figure out. If the model has the [Required] attribute set, I want that to invalidate if the default option is selected. The view model object that must be represented as the dropdown list is Selector: public class Selector { public int SelectedId { get; set; } public IEnumerable<Pair<int, string>> Choices { get; private set; } public string DefaultValue { get; set; } public Selector() { //For binding the object on Post } public Selector(IEnumerable<Pair<int, string>> choices, string defaultValue) { DefaultValue = defaultValue; Choices = choices; } } The editor template looks like this: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl" %> <select class="template-selector" id="<%= ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName %>.SelectedId" name="<%= ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName %>.SelectedId"> <% var model = ViewData.ModelMetadata.Model as QASW.Web.Mvc.Selector; if (model != null) { %> <option><%= model.DefaultValue %></option><% foreach (var choice in model.Choices) { %> <option value="<%= choice.Value1 %>"><%= choice.Value2 %></option><% } } %> </select> I sort of got it to work by calling it from the view like this (where Category is a Selector): <%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(n => n.Category.SelectedId)%> But it shows the validation error for not supplying a proper number and it does not care if I set the Required attribute.

  • Unicode Collations problem ?

    - by Bayonian
(.NET 3.5 SP1, VS 2008, VB.NET, MSSQL Server 2008) I'm writing a small web app to test the Khmer Unicode and Lao Unicode. I have a table that store text in Khmer Unicode with the following structure : [t_id] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL [t_chid] [int] NOT NULL [t_vn] [int] NOT NULL [t_v] [nvarchar](max) NOT NULL I can use Linq to SQL to do CRUD normally. The text display properly on the web page, even though I didn't change the default collation of MSSQL Server 2008. When it comes to search the column [t_v], the page will take a very long time to load and in fact, it loads every row of that column. It never compares with the "key word" criteria that I use for the search. Here's my query for the search : Public Shared Function SearchTestingKhmerTable(ByVal keyword As String) As DataTable Dim db As New BibleDataClassesDataContext() Dim query = From b In db.khmer_books _ From ch In db.khmer_chapters _ From v In db.testing_khmers _ Where v.t_v.Contains(keyword) And ch.kh_book_id = b.kh_b_id And v.t_chid = ch.kh_ch_id _ Select b.kh_b_id, b.kh_b_title, ch.kh_ch_id, ch.kh_ch_number, v.t_id, v.t_vn, v.t_v Dim dtDataTableOne = New DataTable("dtOne") dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("bid", GetType(Integer)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("btitle", GetType(String)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("chid", GetType(Integer)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("chn", GetType(Integer)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("vid", GetType(Integer)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("vn", GetType(Integer)) dtDataTableOne.Columns.Add("verse", GetType(String)) For Each r In query dtDataTableOne.Rows.Add(New Object() {r.kh_b_id, r.kh_b_title, r.kh_ch_id, r.kh_ch_number, r.t_id, r.t_vn, r.t_v}) Next Return dtDataTableOne End Function Please note that I use the exact same code and database design with Lao Unicode and it works just fine. I get the returned query as expected for the search. I can't figure out what the problem with searching for query in Khmer table.

  • SWIG: C++ to C#, pointer to pointer marshalling.

    - by CaRT
I have some legacy code I want to port to C#. I cannot modify the C++ code, I just have to make do with what I'm given. So, the situation. I'm using SwIG, and I came across this function: void MarshalMe(int iNum, FooClass** ioFooClassArray); If I ran SWIG over this, it wouldn't know what to do with the array, so it will create a SWIGTYPE_p_pFooClass. Fair enough! C# code for this would look like void MarshalMe(int iNum, SWIGTYPE_p_p_FooClass ioFooClassArray); // Not ideal! There are some techniques for marshalling this kind of code correctly, so I tried a few of them: %typemap(ctype) FooClass** "FooClass**" %typemap(cstype) FooClass** "FooClass[]" %typemap(imtype, inattributes="[In, Out, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPArray)]") FooClass** "FooClass[]" %typemap(csin) FooClass** "$csinput" %typemap(in) FooClass** "$1 = $input;" %typemap(freearg) FooClass** "" %typemap(argout) FooClass** "" This effectively creates a nicer signature: void MarshalMe(int iNum, FooClass[] ioFooClassArray); // Looks good! Would it work? However, when I try to run it, I get the following error: {"Exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' was thrown."} Any ideas about the actual typemap?

  • qsort on an array of pointers to Objective-C objects

    - by ElBueno
I have an array of pointers to Objective-C objects. These objects have a sort key associated with them. I'm trying to use qsort to sort the array of pointers to these objects. However, the first time my comparator is called, the first argument points to the first element in my array, but the second argument points to garbage, giving me an EXC_BAD_ACCESS when I try to access its sort key. Here is my code (paraphrased): - (void)foo:(int)numThingies { Thingie **array; array = malloc(sizeof(deck[0])*numThingies); for(int i = 0; i < numThingies; i++) { array[i] = [[Thingie alloc] initWithSortKey:(float)random()/RAND_MAX]; } qsort(array[0], numThingies, sizeof(array[0]), thingieCmp); } int thingieCmp(const void *a, const void *b) { const Thingie *ia = (const Thingie *)a; const Thingie *ib = (const Thingie *)b; if (ia.sortKey > ib.sortKey) return 1; //ib point to garbage, so ib.sortKey produces the EXC_BAD_ACCESS else return -1; } Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi All, Here is my code which checks if the file exists : #include<stdio.h> #include<zlib.h> #include<unistd.h> #include<string.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char *path=NULL; FILE *file = NULL; char *fileSeparator = "/"; size_t size=100; int index ; printf("\nArgument count is = %d", argc); if (argc <= 1) { printf("\nUsage: ./output filename1 filename2 ..."); printf("\n The program will display human readable information about the PNG file provided"); } else if (argc > 1) { for (index = 1; index < argc;index++) { path = getcwd(path, size); strcat(path, fileSeparator); printf("\n File name entered is = %s", argv[index]); strcat(path, argv[index]); printf("\n The complete path of the file name is = %s", path); if (access(path, F_OK) != -1) { printf("File does exist"); } else { printf("File does not exist"); } path=NULL; } } return 0; } On running the command ./output test.txt test2.txt The output is: $ ./output test.txt test2.txt Argument count is = 3 File name entered is = test.txt The complete path of the file name is = /home/welcomeuser/test.txt File does not exist File name entered is = test2.txt The complete path of the file name is = /home/welcomeuser/test2.txt File does not exist Now test.txt does exist on the system: $ ls assignment.c output.exe output.exe.stackdump test.txt and yet test.txt is shown as a file not existing. Please help me understand the issue here. Also, please feel free to post any suggestions to improve the code/avoid a bug. Regards, darkie

  • [Gray Hat Python] Simple debugger, want work ??

    - by Rami Jarrar
    hi, i'm reading the Gray Hat Python,, i reach for this :: class debugger(): def __init__(self): self.h_process = None self.pid = None self.debugger_active = False def load(self,path_to_exe): creation_flags = DEBUG_PROCESS startupinfo = STARTUPINFO() process_information = PROCESS_INFORMATION() startupinfo.dwFlags = 0x1 startupinfo.wShowWindows = 0x0 startupinfo.cb = sizeof(startupinfo) if kernel32.CreateProcessA(path_to_exe, None, None, None, None, creation_flags, None, None, byref(startupinfo), byref(process_information)): print "[*] We have successfully launched the process!" print "[*] PID: %d"%(process_information.dwProcessId) self.h_process = self.open_process(process_information.dwProcessId) else: print "[*] Error: 0x%08x."%(kernel32.GetLastError()) def open_process(self,pid): h_process = self.open_process(pid) if kernel32.DebugActiveProcess(pid): self.debugger_active = True self.pid = int(pid) self.run() else: print "[*] Unable to attach to the process." def run(self): while self.debugger_active == True: self.get_debug_event() def get_debug_event(self): debug_event = DEBUG_EVENT() continue_status = DBG_CONTINUE if kernel32.WaitForDebugEvent(byref(debug_event), INFINITE): raw_input("Press a Key to continue...") self.debugger_active = False kernel32.ContinueDebugEvent( \ debug_event.dwProcessId, \ debug_event.dwThreadId, \ continue_status ) def detach(self): if kernel32.DebugActiveProcessStop(self.pid): print "[*] Finished debugging. Exiting..." return True else: print "There was an error" return False when run my_test.py :: import my_dbg debugger = my_dbg.debugger() pid = raw_input('Enter the PID of the process to attach to: ') debugger.open_process(int(pid)) debugger.detach() i get this error :: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:/Python26/dbgpy/my_test.py", line 5, in <module> debugger.attach(int(pid)) File "C:/Python26/dbgpy\my_dbg.py", line 37, in attach h_process = self.attach(pid) ........... ........... ........... File "C:/Python26/dbgpy\my_dbg.py", line 37, in attach h_process = self.attach(pid) File "C:/Python26/dbgpy\my_dbg.py", line 37, in attach h_process = self.attach(pid) RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded its because the loop and something else, but what it is ?? I'm running on Windows using Python2.6.4.. :) Update:: i remove h_process = self.open_process(pid), but i get the same error for the next instruction if kernel32.DebugActiveProcess(pid) , so the problem i think in the loop while,, but what it is ???

  • Could not load type from assembly error

    - by George Mauer
I have written the following simple test in trying to learn Castle Windsor's Fluent Interface: using NUnit.Framework; using Castle.Windsor; using System.Collections; using Castle.MicroKernel.Registration; namespace WindsorSample { public class MyComponent : IMyComponent { public MyComponent(int start_at) { this.Value = start_at; } public int Value { get; private set; } } public interface IMyComponent { int Value { get; } } [TestFixture] public class ConcreteImplFixture { [Test] public void ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue() { IWindsorContainer container = new WindsorContainer(); container.Register(Component.For<IMyComponent>().ImplementedBy<MyComponent>().Parameters(Parameter.ForKey("start_at").Eq("1"))); IMyComponent resolvedComp = container.Resolve<IMyComponent>(); Assert.AreEqual(resolvedComp.Value, 1); } } } When I execute the test through TestDriven.NET I get the following error: System.TypeLoadException : Could not load type 'Castle.MicroKernel.Registration.IRegistration' from assembly 'Castle.MicroKernel, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc'. at WindsorSample.ConcreteImplFixture.ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue() When I execute the test through the NUnit GUI I get: WindsorSample.ConcreteImplFixture.ResolvingConcreteImplShouldInitialiseValue: System.IO.FileNotFoundException : Could not load file or assembly 'Castle.Windsor, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. If I open the Assembly that I am referencing in Reflector I can see its information is: Castle.MicroKernel, Version=1.0.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=407dd0808d44fbdc and that it definitely contains Castle.MicroKernel.Registration.IRegistration What could be going on? I should mention that the binaries are taken from the latest build of Castle though I have never worked with nant so I didn't bother re-compiling from source and just took the files in the bin directory. I should also point out that my project compiles with no problem.
