  • Creating a textarea with auto-resize

    There was another thread about this, which I've tried. But there is one problem: the textarea doesn't shrink if you delete the content. I can't find any way to shrink it to the correct size - the clientHeight value comes back as the full size of the textarea, not its contents. The code from that page is below.   • width:auto for <input> fields

    Newbie CSS question. I thought 'width:auto' for a display:block element meant 'fill available space'. However for an <input> element this doesn't seem to be the case. For example: <body> <form style='background-color:red'> <input type='text' style='background-color:green;display:block;width:auto'> </form> </body> Two questions then: Is there a definition of exactly what width:auto does mean? The CSS spec seems vague to me, but maybe I missed the relevant section. Is there a way to achieve my expected behaviour for a input field - ie. fill available space like other block level elements do? Thanks!

  • Core Data to-many relationship in code

    I have three entities: Session, User and Test. A session has 0-many users and a user can perform 0-6 tests. (I say 0 but in the real application always at least 1 is required, at least 1 user for a session and at least 1 test for a user. But I say 0 to express an empty start.) All entities have their own specific data attributes too. A user has a name, A session has a name, a test has six values to be filled in by the user, and so on. But my issue is with the relationships. How do I set multiple users and have them added to one session (same goes for multiple tests for one user). How do I show the content in a right way? How do I show a session that has multiple users and these users having completed multiple tests? This is because the div hit its max width of 300px and then wrapped the b's to a 2nd line. The wrapping is good, but then I would expect the div to then shrink back down to the width of the a's so that there's no empty space to the right. Is it possible to get it to do this? Tested in Chrome and FF.

  • Different data for different dates

    I am making a web page which will allow users to input and view data for different dates, and to change the date, there are two buttons, one of which will display the previous day, and one which will show the next day. I know that I can do this by submitting forms and reloading the page every time they press one of these buttons, but I would rather use javascript and not have to submit a form, but I am having troubles getting it to work. So here are my questions: 1) Is it possible to dynamically change data (such as text, and in the future, SQL queries) on a page using javascript without having to reload a page when clicking on a button? 2) If possible, how can I make those changes? 3) How can I fix this so that it will increment and decrement through dates every time a button is clicked?

    Hi there, I have an .NET application that always starts itself with its border style to 'None', as it is supposed to be an full-screen application with a fixed resolution. However, i would like to add the window border (Fixed3D) to this window when the application starts so that I am able to move it around my desktop. My first idea was to have a tray app running, monitoring event messages, and somehow change the window style when this specific application starts. However, I am not sure if this will work and how to do this. Anyone that can point me in the right direction?

    Hi, I'm using prototype and setStyle in IE6 is just messing everything up. It's throwing a big error. I've Googled it but cant find a solution.   • How to enable real time CSS editing in chrome?

    I have seem a lot of videos in which developers changing CSS on the fly in chrome. I tried the same thing but chrome dod not allow me to change the code. I can't write on the style sheet. Is there any specific setting to do this? Kindly help. EDIT: To edit the css, I right clock on an element, select inspect element. It will open the console. I select the id of the element and go to style.css in resource and try to change the css. It do not allow me to write there.

  • Dynamic themes and custom styles

    I've got an app with two themes (dark and light) that can be selected at runtime. This works. I also have a ListView with rows that can have one of three different layouts, each of which has a style (say, different colors). This also works. But I can't get these two features to work together. I really need six different styles, three for one theme (dark) and three for the other (light), but I can't figure out how to choose a style for a list item based on the current theme, or get that effect any other way by using XML files. My three layouts each point to a custom theme that sets the color, but that overrides whatever theme I've got set. Themes can only contain items that are "styleable", so I can't put my own custom items in there. There may be a way to do this programmatically, but I was hoping to do it declaratively. Any ideas?

    This is a resonant post to one of my other query due to an error with Java applet embedded into CMS pages. well, I tell issue:- Problem:- I have a website using Concrete 5 CMS, in which I have a page that I have embedded a Java applet class. This applet should show the system information which this applet is working fine in simple single HTML pages. now whenever I access my plugin Test page which created in Concrete 5 CMS (this page I embedded this java applet), it shows a Java error. The error is says incompatible Magic Number. Observation:- After a lot of searching through various tech forums, I finally found that, the issue is happened because the browser cannot load Java class file. The class file path location is wrong.
