  I have three current thoughts on how to do this: re-implement AuthenticationService, which uses lots of internal constructors and internal helpers, implement custom IIdentity and IPrincipal types and somehow hook these into FormsAuthentication. give up and roll my own. The problem is that we've got web apps and fat client apps using authentication and storing cookies. However, logging out of a web app does not log out of a fat client app, and we have now way of forcing a refreshed cookie, atm.

Using this setup, I can get the demo application that came in the JacORB download to run successfully. The only difference I can tell is that my test is using the Tie method to get the POA. There are some policies that go into that, but I can't find any information on what policies need to go in there to enable SSL, if any. I'm not even sure that's the problem as the JacORB demo doesn't set any policies on the server or poa. When I run the -Djavax.net.debug=ssl, I can see the keystores load up the trusted certs on both the client and the server. I'm just not sure what policies are being referred to here, but it's odd that the demo works and the test doesn't using the exact same keystores and properties. I've emailed the mailing list, but I'm not holding out much hope as that doesn't seem to be very active. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are my properties files.   I have a few Umbraco sites running on my server - but i'm getting logged out when using everything else than Firefox when using umbraco. I'm able to log in and after 10-15 sec's i'm being automatically logged out again. How can that be and how do i fix it? :( It's a win 2008 server using MSSQL database and umbraco 4.0.3 btw is running on integrated app pool and .net version 2.0.50727

• ASP.Net MVC Exception Logging combined with Error Handling

  Hi. I am looking for a simple solution to do Exception Logging combined with Error Handling in my ASP.Net MVC 1.0 application. I've read lots of articles, including Questions posted here on StackOverflow, which all provide varying solutions for different situations. I am still unable to come up with a solution that suits my needs. Here are my requirements: To be able to use the [HandleError] attribute (or something equivalent) on my Controller, to handle all exceptions that could be thrown from any of the Actions or Views. This should handle all exceptions that were not handled specifically on any of the Actions (as described in point 2). I would like to be able to specify which View a user must be redirected to in error cases, for all actions in the Controller. I want to be able to specify the [HandleError] attribute (or something equivalent) at the top of specific Actions to catch specific exceptions and redirect users to a View appropriate to the exception. All other exceptions must still be handled by the [HandleError] attribute on the Controller. In both cases above, I want the exceptions to be logged using log4net (or any other logging library). How do I go about achieving the above? I've read about making all my Controllers inherit from a base controller which overrides the OnException method, and wherein I do my logging. However this will mess around with redirecting users to the appropriate Views, or make it messy. I've read about writing my own Filter Action which implements IExceptionFilter to handle this, but this will conflict with the [HandleError] attribute. So far, my thoughts are that the best solution is to write my own attribute that inherits from HandleErrorAttribute. That way I get all the functionality of [HandleError], and can add my own log4net logging. • Cancel UITouch Events When View Covered By Modal UIViewController

  Hi there, I am writing an application where the user has to move some stuff on the screen using his fingers and drop them. To do this, I am using the touchesBegan,touchesEnded... function of each view that has to be moved. The problem is that sometimes the views are covered by a view displayed using the [UIViewController presentModalViewController] function. As soon as that happens, the UIView that I was moving stops receiving the touch events, since it was covered up. But there is no event telling me that it stopped receiving the events, so I can reset the state of the moved view. The following is an example that demonstrates this. The functions are part of a UIView that is being shown in the main window. It listens to touch events and when I drag the finger for some distance, it presents a modal view that covers everything. • JavaScript/Dojo Module Pattern - how to debug?

  I'm working with Dojo and using the "Module Pattern" as described in Mastering Dojo. So far as I can see this pattern is a general, and widely used, JavaScript pattern. My question is: How do we debug our modules? So far I've not been able to persuade Firebug to show me the source of my module. Firebug seems to show only the dojo eval statement used to execute the factory method. Hence I'm not able to step through my module source. I've tried putting "debugger" statements in my module code, and Firebug seems to halt correctly, but does not show the source. Contrived example code below. My problem is that the "showname" that a putExtra on my Intent cant be received at the broadcast receiver. It always get null value. • Java web-app debugging not possible due to direct undeploy on debug

  When i try to debug my webapp it starts up the tomcat server and the application, but shuts down the debugger shortly before the app gets usable. I see the debugging toolbar for a second before it vanishes again, though the app keeps running. • log4net not logging with a mixture of .net 1.1 and .net 3.5

  Hi All, I have an iis server on a windows 2003 production machine that will not log using log4net in the .net3.5 web application. Log4net works fine in the 1.1 apps using log4net version 1.2.9.0 and but not the 3.5 web app. The logging works fine in a development and staging environment but not in production. It does not error and I receive no events logged in the event viewer and don't know where to look next. I have tried both versions of log4net (1.2.9.0 and 1.2.10.0) and both work in development and staging but not in production. For testing purposes I have created just a single page application that just echos back the time when the page is hit and also is supposed to log to my logfile using log4net. If it is not "connected", then it signals that something is wrong and my application will need to perform some actions such as updating an event log.   I'm trying to use a reloadable spring resource bundle but spring cannot find the file. I've tried tons of different paths, but can't get it to work anywhere. • Why is UITableView not reloading (even on the main thread)?

  I have two programs that basically do the same thing. They read an XML feed and parse the elements. The design of both programs is to use an asynchronous NSURLConnection to get the data then to spawn a new thread to handle the parsing. As batches of 5 items are parsed it calls back to the main thread to reload the UITableView. My issue is it works fine in one program, but not the other. I know that the parsing is actually occuring on the background thread and I know that [tableView reloadData] is executing on the main thread; however, it doesn't reload the table until all parsing is complete. I'm stumped. As far as I can tell... both programs are structured exactly the same way. • Slow performance when utilizing Interop.DSOFile to search files by Custom Document Property

  I am new to the world of VB.NET and have been tasked to put together a little program to search a directory of about 2000 Excel spreadsheets and put together a list to display based on the value of a Custom Document Property within that spreadsheet file. Given that I am far from a computer programmer by education or trade, this has been an adventure. I've gotten it to work, the results are fine. The problem is, it takes well over a minute to run. It is being run over a LAN connection. When I run it locally (using a 'test' directory of about 300 files) it executes in about 4 seconds. I'm not sure even what to expect as a reasonable execution speed, so I thought I would ask here. The code is below, if anyone thinks changes there might be of use in speeding things up.
