  • Factory Girl sequence fails under autospec

    I have this Factory: Factory.define :email_address do |e| e.sequence(:address) { |n| "factory_#{n}@example.com" } e.validated true end When I run my specs with rake spec, it works fine. When I run autospec, it fails right away, claiming that the email address is being used twice in two different objects (there is a validation which restricts this). Why is it behaving differently under autospec? Thanks, John

  • Setting multiple SMTP settings in web.config?

    I am building an app that needs to dynamically/programatically know of and use different SMTP settings when sending email. I'm used to using the system.net/mailSettings approach, but as I understand it, that only allows one SMTP connection definition at a time, used by SmtpClient(). However, I need more of a connectionStrings-like approach, where I can pull a set of settings based on a key/name. Any recommendations? I'm open to skipping the tradintional SmtpClient/mailSettings approach, and I think will have to...

    Hi all, to export some data i want to be able to generate an html output. I have some constant content to output, like html headers and footers. My question is how to deal with that ? Do I have to embed some template (in a ressource file) and parse it to make it dynamic ? Do I store my static content in some constant (is there a 255 char limit?) and append them while generating the dynamic content ? Do you have some hints, useful links, or best practices to share?   • How to return an image in an HTTP response with CherryPy

    I have code which generates a Cairo ImageSurface, and I expose it like so: def preview(...): surface = cairo.ImageSurface(cairo.FORMAT_ARGB32, width, height) ... cherrypy.response.headers['Content-Type'] = "image/png" return surface.get_data() preview.exposed = True This doesn't work (browsers report that the image has errors). I've tested that surface.write_to_png('test.png') works, but I'm not sure what to dump the data into to return it. I'm guessing some file-like object? According to the pycairo documentation, get_data() returns a buffer. I've also now tried: tempf = os.tmpfile() surface.write_to_png(tempf) return tempf Also, is it better to create and hold this image in memory (like I'm trying to do) or write it to disk as a temp file and serve it from there? I only need the image once, then it can be discarded.

I've attempted to examine some meeting request cancellations in text editors and can't seem to pinpoint the difference in the format between cancelling/creating. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

It would be nice if there was a way in FlexUnit, or other means, to Iterate over all views in the app Get all titles, labels, column headers Run some pattern checks and fail where needed. Does anyone have a suggestion on what the best way would be to achieve that? I suppose I could do this on a code level on the MXML files, but it would be nicer if it could be integrated into the overall unit test suits. Thanks for any suggestions

  • Help Reading Binary Image Data from SQL Server into PHP

    I cannot seem to figure out a way to read binary data from SQL server into PHP. I am working on a project where I need to be able to store the image directly in the SQL table, not on the file system. Currently, I have been using a query like this one: INSERT INTO myTable(Document) SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET(BULK N'C:\image.jpg', SINGLE_BLOB) as BLAH This works fine to actually insert the image into the table, but I haven't yet figured a way to retrieve it and get my image back. I am doing this with PHP, and ultimately will have to make a stored procedure out of it, but can anyone enlighten me on a way to get that binary data (varbinary(MAX)) and generate an image on the fly. I expected it to be simple to use a SELECT statement and add a content-type to the headers that indicated it was an image, but it's simply not working. Instead, the page will just display the name of the file, which I have encountered in the past and understand it to be an error with the image data.

    I'm using require_once() in header.php to include the FirePHP library. In the page.php I'm doing the usual... $firephp = FirePHP::getInstance(true); $firephp->log($categories); Getting these errors.. 'Headers already sent....' and Cannot send log data to FirePHP. You must have Output Buffering enabled via ob_start() or output_buffering ini directive... I figured the using require_once in the template's header.php (above all HTML output) would be safe (pre header output). Guess this is not the case. Anyone have experience with this? (P.S. I tried the WP FirePHP plugin, wasn't working right)

I have two buttons "add Row", "Del Row" and I have some records displayed from db. when ever "add row" is clicked a new record, row header should be added to JTable with an auto increment number displayed in sequential order to the JTable Row Header. During deletion using "Del row " button the record has to be deleted & not its corresponding header so that next rows got updated to the previous headers & the auto increment number remain unchanged and always be in sequence. please help me on this regard.     Our globalization mechanism stores error messages in a SQL 2005 DB. Some of the error messages are used as subjects on email messages sent to the development team. At first I thought they were some sort of base level element terminators but I'm not certain. I'm not sure the 7-byte header is, in fact, a seven byte header. I wonder if it's maybe 4 bytes and that the three remaining 0x00s are of some other significance. The trailing 0x00s. Why is it that there is only one on the request but two on the response? The type 8 cast mentioned above ... I can't seem to figure out how those values are being encoded. I added comments to those lines with what the values should correspond to. Any advice on these four points will be greatly appreciated. And yes, these packets were captured in Watertown, MA. :)

As a relativly new developer how much should I trust ReSharper when it comes to this? Take the below code snippet from a method that Paints Tab Headers. It’s rather simple – I have this list: ['title', 'email', 'password2', 'password1', 'first_name', 'last_name', 'next', 'newsletter'] I’d like to switch position of 'password2' and 'password1' – not knowing their exact position, only that they’re right next to one another and password2 is first. I’ve accomplished this with some rather long-winded list-subscripting, but I wondered if someone could come up with something a bit more elegant?

I'm using Coda Slider 2.0, and have designed it to where the tabs are another slider to the right of the main slider, and each item.   • Removing input background colour for Chrome autocomplete?

    On a form I'm working on, Chrome is auto-filling the email and password fields. This is fine, however, Chrome changes the background colour to a pale yellow colour. The design I'm working on is using light text on a dark background, so this really messes up the look of the form - I have stark yellow boxes and near-invisible white text. Once the field is focused, the fields return to normal. Is it possible to stop Chrome changing the colour of these fields?

  • Writing file from HttpWebRequest periodically vs. after download finishes?

    Right now I am using this code to download files (with a Range header). Most of the files are large, and it is running 99% of CPU currently as the file downloads.   • Write wave files to memory in Java

    I'm trying to figure out why my servlet code creates wave files with improper headers. I use: AudioSystem.write( new AudioInputStream( new ByteArrayInputStream(memoryBytes), new AudioFormat(22000, 16, 1, true,false), memoryBytes.length ), AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, servletOutputStream ); taking a byte array from memory containing raw PCM samples and a servlet output stream that gets returned to the client. In the result I get a normal wave file but with zeros in the chunk size fields. Is the API broken? I would think that the size could be filled in using the size passed in the audio input stream. But now, after typing this out I'm thinking its not making this info available to the outer write() method on AudioSystem. It seems like the AudioSystem.write call needs a size parameter unless it is able to pull the size from the stream... which wouldn't work with an arbitrary sized stream. Does anyone know how to make this example work?
